I brought my car here because it was convenient and I had a good experience with them in the past. Well this time was a disaster. The tire pressure light had gone off but none of my tires looked flat so I took it in and dropped it off. I got a call maybe a couple of hours later. The car wasn't done. It had been hit by a trailer that was hitched to the back of an SUV. This person was there to buy a car from someone who worked at the shop. The employee got the name and number of the person and sent me photos of the damage. I walked over anyway to see if I could get more info from the person who hit my car then I headed back home. The shop called me later to tell me that I needed a new tire pressure sensor and that they would need to handle it the next day because they couldn't get the part until then. I was a bit flummoxed because they waited until it was too late to check my car. You would think if a car got hit in your lot and the accident was related to one of your employees, that you would prioritize that car. Not here. Most of the next day goes by and I don't hear anything so I call up. Still not done. I called the next day - it was the next up. No call to come get it though. I called the day after that - it will be done in the next hour. I walked over after that to pick the car up. No apologies for the length of time or the accident. They left the plastic seat cover and paper mat in the car. The tire pressure light was still on which they said I would need to come back to get it reset. My assessment - if you want to risk your car getting damaged, you like managing your car's repair yourself and you like a half done job, then this is the place for you. Second & last time taking one of our vehicles to this location. Both times the service and repairs were terrible. Our first experience was with a company car in need of service and a rear tire check due to a leak. When picking up the car, I had a dirty cabin filter and trash left on passenger's seat. The tire was not fixed. They basically rotated the tires without repairing the leak. Had to take the car back two weeks later to have the tire replaced. Second experience - We took another car in due to an almost flat rear tire and requested an oil change as well. They had the car all day and we picked it up an hour before closing. Went out to the car this morning and the same tire was flat again. The PSI was down to 10. Called the location this morning and they informed us that they replaced a front tire - which had no issues. So now, we still have a flat rear tire and one of our good front tires was replaced for no good reason. I have zero confidence that the car's oil was changed. The sales associates are rude and lack social skills. The entire place needs an overhaul. The thing that really bothers me is the lack of integrity. We are trying to take care of our vehicles to ensure we are safe while operating them on the road. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. If I could give 0 stars I would. I started using this location because it's so convenient to my job. I have a mechanic that I use for big repairs, but I used Firestone for oil changes. I think I've been to this location 5 or six times. Every time I come, I am given a list of repairs. Of course, I don't let them do the repairs and take my car to my mechanic. My mechanic tells me every time that the repairs are not necessary. I genuinely believe they are trying to get over on me because I'm a young woman. I recently dropped my car off at Firestone at 8am for an oil change and requested to pick it up by 1pm. 1:30 rolls around and I call for a status update, and I'm informed that my car had not been serviced yet. RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I came here about 2 weeks ago for my brakes. They kept my car for 2 days because they refused to call my extended warranty company because "it's hard to get in contact with them." They did not communicate with me at all during this process unless I called the store. I consistently caught them in multiple lies because I had to talk to about 3 different people about my car & they all said something different. Then I was told a price on the phone & THEY UPPED THE PRICE WHEN I GOT TO THE REGISTER!!! Which I made them change. They thought since I was a college female, I'd be stupid. I had to have my van looked at while traveling from out of town. I got great, honest service. They ended up not recommending any repairs, and took me out and showed me under the hood and explained everything in detail. I had another place look at it three days ago and they recommended over $800 in repairs that were clearly not needed. These guys charged me $10 for 2 hours of labor. On 5/10/2015 I took my Nissan 2004 Xterra into the York road facility for a brake inspection. I have been using this facility for maintenance and repairs since I purchased this vehicle. My brakes and rotors were previously replaced at the end of 2012 and less than 14,000 miles were logged onto the vehicle since the initial repair. During the repairs in 2012 there were some issues during the installation, I received a call from the manager explaining the issue and the fix. The installer made a mistake reinstalling the 4wd hubs and had to repair the damage that was caused after he took if for the test drive. This vehicle is driven less than ten miles a day to and from work, and it was only the second set of brakes installed. The vehicle now has over 100K miles on it and the previous brakes and rotors have lasted at least 45k miles or more each change. I was informed that both brakes & rotors had failed again and needed replaced for over $800.00 before tax. The person I spoke with continued too try and up-sell me into replacing, or fixing many other things. When I attempted to question the inconsistency of premature parts failure, she got agitated and defensive, completely unwilling too admit there was an abnormality. She blamed it on the user, which is the standard thing everyone I talked to there kept saying. Having started my career out as a mechanic when I was young I know what goes into replacing brakes and rotors on a 4wd vehicle, it's first year school stuff. It's not rocket science, I was using FS because I trusted them and the price was usually right which meant I didn't have to do the work. Ultimately the issue is not resolved and I have closed my account with FS and will never do business with them again. I think that over the years the quality of service, both customer and mechanical have become sub par. The only thing they are interested in is up-selling and getting repairs done without quality as their sole focus. Well they lost my business, I closed my account after more than ten years of only using them. I will always pay for quality work, because that's how I work, but poor customer service and taking shortcuts when repairing a vehicle lead to more lost time, money it's time to move on. read more

I dropped my car off to have a simple tire change and break light replacement. They waited until after they were closed to even start on my car. When I got there, I was told that they changed the tire but "ran out of time" and would need to do the break light at a later date, which was okay. That is until, I went to another Firestone location to get the break light changed. The technician there showed me that the screws had actually been stripped when the first location was trying to take the light plate off, which is the actual reason why they did not replace the brake light. NEVER AGAIN!! Rip off artists! Seriously I am out half a grand, the fix (a new starter) works only intermittently-- in the past 2 days it wouldn't start on the first try on 5 separate occasions. That was the problem to begin with, the car suddenly got moody about starting, as far as I can tell they may have even done nothing at all! We live within walking distance and have been good customers for almost four years and this is not the first time something seemed shady and to make it worse their competitors (my mom's trusted autocare techs) gave us a quote 100 hundred dollars less for the exact same procedure. When I asked for our old starter back they said they had already shipped it back to the manufacturer, in under 48 hours? Really?! Considering they take their own darn sweet time when it comes to serving customers I am surprised that they showed such speed in shipping our starter away. Perhaps the starter was fine and they used it in some else's car or even left it in ours! We were in a hurry and we were used to this Firestone which is why we didn't immediately go to their competition because their estimate was lower. (And cheaper doesn't necessarily mean better in the long term) On another occasion one of the service guys tried to sell my fiancé a new set of tires b/c we "needed" it and then changed his tune when my fiancé told him that we had our tires updated by that same Firestone 3 months ago!! My guy said if we have to change them they better be under warranty since the tire purchase was so recent. The Firestone auto guy just sort of backed out of it and stopped insisting we needed to buy a whole new set of tires. This is just one other example of shady behavior, I have more but I am still so mad I just want to finish this review. Look, bad servicing is a SERIOUS issue. Driving 65 miles an hour hurtling towards your destination surrounded by other fast moving tonnage is not the time when you want to cut corners and go for the cheap. I am willing to sacrifice and pay fair money for fair work, but it has to be quality work, quality materials and a worker with integrity and skill. This Firestone gives you the worst 3 out of 3, I even spoke to the manager he simply doesn't give a flying f. Don't risk you and your loved ones safety and don't risk your wallet with these incompetent, callous, charlatans. NEVER AGAIN!!!! Next time I will check Yelp and reviews first this York Rd Firestone in Baltimore has a lot of disgruntled customers. I wish I could give no stars for negative customer satisfaction. Don't let these Neanderthals have a whack at your car. You should write/contact Firestone HQ and the BBB better business bureau and let them know if you have issues. I dropped my car off on Sat morning, and he (a tall white guy with moustache) said it will be done in 1.5 hr. He said he would give me a call. I waited for 1hr and 45 mins. I went back, then found out that my car was NOT EVEN BROUGHT INTO THE GARAGE. I asked the guy, 'what is the status of my car? Is it done?'. The guy with moustache jokingly says, 'I dunn know! (laughes) what is your vehicle?' I saw a spot in the garage and mechanics talking and laughing between themselves.... Clearly it was not the busiest time. I left rossville Firestone after 2 chances for improvement and went to the York rd location. The first visit was phenomenal. I couldn't have been happier. The second visit? Not so much. STAY AWAY. They totally overcharge, and I suspect they make up things that are wrong with your car, though I don't have proof. As for the overcharging: my car's a/c conked out (during an epic heat wave!) and they were the only place open on a Sunday. I took my car there with great misgivings based on prior experiences. They determined it was the compressor, and told me it would cost $1300 to fix it. I thought we might still have it under warranty and took it to the dealer. Had my car there two days only to find out (by me calling) at 4:45 on final day that they didn't have two parts for my car. The car's "appointment" was at 9 a.m.! No one called me to tell me they didn 't have the parts. Thank goodness I don't get charged late fees for picking up my child. Never again! I live within walking distance to this Firestone Service Center. My first experience was having a muffler replaced on a late model Jetta. 2 weeks past from the time the work was completed and my muffler fell off in my driveway. They apparently rigged the system with what parts they had on hand instead of ordering Jetta specific parts. From that point on, I assumed anything non tire related might be over their heads and had my work done elsewhere. Recently I had a slow leak in one of my tires. Plugging a nail hole should be most basic tire service. I gave them another chance. When I picked up the car, the low tire pressure light was still on. They added more air, the light went out, and I was on my way. Less than a week later the LTPS light comes on again. I added air to the same tire and it went out. I am left with (2) scenarios. (1) I coincidentally got a nail in the same tire that produced the same slow leak I had before going to Firestone or, (2) they did absolutely nothing to my tire and charged me $30+ dollars. Go with your first instinct, if you have any doubts about taking your car to this Service Center than don't do it! read more

My girlfriend and I were driving not too far from the shop when a shop employee (Mike) IN A CUSTOMER CAR raced around us and came to a complete stop, forcing my girlfriend to slam her breaks to stop just inches from the customer car. Then Mike gets out of the car, after trying to make us hit him from behind, screaming at my girlfriend about rolling through a stop sign. Must of called her a Cun* a dozen times. Kicks our car and calls for me to get out and fight him. Well 30 yards later happens to be this shop, and with him now behind us, i see him pull into work. I get out and talk to James, the manager, and explain the whole situation. Here is what they did at this Firestone on York Road in Towson, Maryland. They did not honor an appointment made in advance. They told me that had my tires in stock when they did not. They fitted my car with the wrong tires and overcharged me. They scratched my car and said they would repair the car, had me get an estimate at a body shop of their choice, and the body shop, fully aware of their poor reputation and abysmal management, demanded payment up front for the repair. Firestone did not pay. Five weeks later, I had to file a claim through my insurance company. When my insurance company called Firestone, they knew nothing about the damage to my car. This location was recommended to me by my brother, so figured why not, give it a shot? I live in PG, Maryland, and it ended up being an hour or so drive to get to the Firestone Towson location, but it was definitely worth it. Everybody I met and interacted with was super nice, very helpful, professional and courteous. From the mechanics to the sales associates, everybody was ready to explain what was happening with the car, showing me exactly where and what issues were present, and able to give me their opinion as far as repairs. They do get very busy, so unless you have an appointment, bring a book and/or expect to wait a bit. But, free coffee, tv, wifi while you wait. Definitely worth it. Will make that hour drive again for tires, and any future car concerns. read more

Made an online appt. for 2;00. Called from home before I left to see if they would be able to keep the time, as I had to be at another location by 4:30. They said yes. When I arrived (before 2:00), they said they were a little backed up, but would try to complete oil change before 4:30. At 4:15 I asked if they were getting close to finishing the oil change. They said they hadn't started it yet. I had been sitting there for over two hours. I pitched a fit and left, without the oil change. I took my car in for routine oil change on a Sunday because my regular mechanic is not open on the weekends and I have to attend a funeral out of town on Monday. My mistake for not recognizing I needed an oil change on Friday. As far as I know the actual oil change was fine, but they told me that I needed new wiper blades, power st. fluid and that my coolant was low. I know a lot about cars, but I am assuming that because I am 5'2 and blonde the mechanic thought he could get some more money out of me. My car does not need any of these items serviced at this time. I am also worried about the oil change, which I intend to check more thoroughly this afternoon and will update this post if it is also questionable. I find their business practices are very questionable as well as their ethics. If you don't understand cars or your own car in particular, I would not recommend taking your vehicle to them for any kind of work. I ordered tires from TireRack that were delivered to this Firestone location (Firestone doesn't carry Continentals). I made an appointment for the tires to be mounted on the car, and made sure that the 90 minutes I had available would be enough time to do the job. I arrived promptly, and stressed that I needed to be out by 4 p.m. The service reps were very pleasant, but after sitting for 30 minutes and seeing my car right where I left it, I spoke to the rep again and stated I needed to be out by 4. Well, that didn't happen, and by the time everything was wrapped up, it was 4:15. I was pretty annoyed, since I was on a tight schedule. Without being asked, though, the rep did the right thing and gave me a good discount on the service for not finishing it in the time promised. I went in there for a simple tire patch, it took them 4 and a half hours to tell me the tire couldn't be fixed... Now it was a pretty simple nail in there and I knew they were just trying to sell me a tire but whatever I said fine cause it was a spare anyways so I went ahead and told them I'd take it. So for a 99 dollar tire the guy there told me my total was 150 something since he took the liberty of putting some stupid warranty without asking or even talking about what it was. He takes that off and with the computer right in front of him he's like it's gonna be around 130... You can't tell me what the exact price is with the computer right there? Anyways this is a nickel and dime business since buying a tire there for some reason includes all these ridiculous charges that shouldn't be there. If you're a tire business then you shouldn't charge for keeping a broken tire and honestly charging 17 bucks in labor to balance a tire? No that's your job to do, it's not my responsibility to pay your employees to do their jobs, they already are making money off the tire but might as well have the customer pay part of their employees paycheck as well. Long story short there are way better places to go so unless you're in a pinch, go somewhere else read more
