I took my car in for a slow leak and they came back to say all four of my tires are severely messed up, I'll need all new tires and rims and I might have a blowout if I don't get it fixed soon. Little did they know I do my research before buying into their crazy lies. I took my car into the dealership and had them answer some questions and then took my car to discount tire AND Broadway Tire. Broadway Tire has been amazing to me. My ONE tire that had a leak was bubbling so I needed ONE new tire. That's it. I will never go to firestone. I don't trust them and neither do a lot of people I've talked to. read more

Used to be trustworthy, not anymore. I paid them to fix my fuel inlet and to do a complete car inspection. They returned the car specifically stating that they conducted a battery test and my battery was fine. Couple days later My car won't start and not only is the battery shot but the battery terminals and cable connections are caked with buildup (yes I don't check often enough). How the heck do you do a battery inspection and not notice that the terminals are completely corroded (covered in white chalky buildup)? the positive terminal was entirely covered. When I called and complained the manager told me that the technician did notice the corrosion and the comment "was in his notes just not on my writeup". Really? How does it help me to NOT tell me problems you find when I'm actually paying you to tell me the problems you find? My recommendation is to stay away from these guys. I think this place is a crapshoot. I moved to San Antonio in March and brought my car here on recommendation from my brother-in-law. They did a good job and the wait wasn't too long in March when they replaced my tie rods. However, when I called and scheduled an oil change and a check of my two back tire levels to see if they needed to be replaced, I made an appointment rent for 8am earlier this week. I realized a I had another appointment at 9 so I called the next day to see if I could move my oil change/tire check to 10. Sure. No problem, they said. I pulled in at 10:01am on Saturday and there was nowhere to park my car. I told the woman at the front desk I had a 10am appt. Great. No problem. An hour later, my car was still sitting out front. I asked the lady at 11:08am what the situation was because I had a 10am appointment and many other things to do today. She said she'd be right with me. I sat down and she continued helping other customers. At 11:23am, 15 minutes later, I got back in line. The service manager came to the desk and asked how he could help me. I said I had a 10am appointment and had been waiting almost an hour and a half. He apologized and said they had a lot of carryover from the previous day. I time hi. That would have been nice to have told me when I arrived. I don't mind waiting. It's a part of car repair. However, when a business offers appointment times and a customer bothers to use that system and then that time isn't honored and the person's time is disrespected, that is poor customer service despite apologies. He said my car was next and I said if they could promise it would be done by 12:30pm I'd stay. They did take my car in and they did tell me I had more time on my back tires (both level 5.5) so I appreciate the honesty and letting me know. They know what they're doing. They just don't do it as efficiently as I think they could. Be honest about the wait time with customers. So I'm torn bw good work and poor operations. That earns a "C" in most instances I think. My power steering was having issues. I took my car to this Firestone as i always had great experiences with Firestone in Houston. They charged me $500 to replace my power steering switch, which should've fixed the issue. Nope, had to bring it back 2 weeks later and they said it was my reservoir cap leaking. They then charged me over $100 for a plastic cap. That STILL did not fix the issue. They are now claiming the culprit is a hose, which they want to charge me $400 for. The Firestone guarantee says they'll fix it right the first time, or it's free. Well they haven't been able to get it right after three times and they're still trying to fleece me. These people are not only inept mechanics, they're straight up swindlers. Shops like this perpetuate the thieving mechanic trope. Go find yourself an honest mechanic, because this is not one. read more

I dropped my truck off at 11:00 a.m. the day before, thinking that 26 hours of time would be enough to change the oil, replace a battery, and repair a tire... not hardly. -26 hours later the oil was changed and that was it. I should have got the hint when people were complaining about the length of time it was taking when I got there other people were complaining when I left too. I brought a tire in at 9 am to be repaired. I was told three hours. I was told I would be called shortly to tell me road hazard costs. I went back four hours later and nothing at all had been done. I was told end of day. I called back two jours later and was told it would be done at fiveish. Went at five and was told i dont need it until tomorrow so it will be ready tomorrow. Tomorrow i leave town. Had he said i cant do anything today i would have done something different. Went to discount tire. Bought a tire and am walking out with it already. Its almost 6. I will be requesting my road hazard refunded as its useless. After having another store rep tell me he couldnt read my tire size behind the counter a couple months ago it seems that firestone is no longer in the customer service industry and will never receive another dime from me. read more

I STRONGLY suggest you take your car somewhere else for anything other than tires (and even with tires you might want to check prices elsewhere). The "check engine" light came on in my car so I took it to this Firestone location and arrived at 9:30 in the morning. In addition to the "check engine" light, I also knew that I needed new brakes. I told the manager that I wanted new brakes, an oil change, an air filter, and for them to check out why the "check engine" light was on. He asked me if I could leave the car and that they would have it all done by 5:59 (they close at 6). I asked him when he would call me (regarding the "check engine" light) and he said within about 60 to 90 minutes he would call me. He said he had two master techs working and everything would get done TODAY for sure. 2 1/2 hours later NOBODY HAD CALLED ME. I called them, spoke to the manager, and was told they were just pulling in the car. Nothing to report, he would call me in an hour. 2 hours later - NO CALL. I called the manager and asked him what the status was. He told me there was nothing to report yet, they were still looking at the car. I asked him if he was sure everything would get done, he said, "well I can't guarantee it". I responded that he told me when I dropped the car off that he did guarantee it, and he said the same thing when I called 2 hours earlier. His brilliant, customer service oriented response was: "I told you it would be done at 5:59 and until the clock ticks 5:59 I don't see any reason to argue with you." He then told me again, he would call me. NO CALL. At 5:30 my wife drove me to the location. As I was pulling in at 5:45 to Firestone, they called. So, here is a recap: THEY DID NOTHING. They didn't touch the brakes. They didn't fix the problem that was causing the check engine light to come on. They didn't do a single thing. All they did was tell me when I arrived at 5:45 that I needed new tires, and my air intake manifold gasket was leaking. That's what was causing the check engine light to come on. They asked me if I wanted to leave the car and they would do the tires the next morning. I laughed. In my opinion, this place is a joke. No communication. If they couldn't do the work when I wanted it done, they should have said so. I believe they knew all along that they couldn't but if I left my car, they could try to sell me new tires and get me to leave the car until the next day when they could do the work. I will never go here again. There are plenty of other options on that street alone. As it turns out, I took my car to Sears the next day and they had everything done when they said they were going to do it, for a lot cheaper than Firestone was going to charge. In addition, the employees at Sears were nice and polite, not rude and condescending like at Firestone. read more

Took my vehicle to Firestone for a basic oil change because they recently sent me a coupon for $10 off a basic old change. When the vehicle was ready they called and told me that I needed a lower control arm replaced because of worn or damaged bushings. They quoted me a price of approximately $391.00 for this work. This seemed high so I took it to another auto repair shop that had used in the past and that had an "A" rating on Angie's List. They did the work for less ($330) and told me that my passenger side end link (which had previously been installed by Firestone) was installed on the wrong side of the strut. They also informed me that the lower control arm bolt on the passenger side was very loose (again this was work that was previously done by Firestone). Thankfully, they did the work at a lower price and fixed Friestone's mistakes (for FREE). All in all, I paid less money for the original work that I needed while getting a true "education" on just how poor the quality of the work is that had been done on my vehicle by the Firestone in Hollywood Park, TX (16633 San Pedro)! Bottom line: I will not be using this particular Firestone again. Since I have a lifetime brake and allignment package with Firestone I will strongly consider using one of the other Firestone locations in the city. Oh, I also forgot to mention that they wanted another $160 to complete the alignment. That's right, despite the fact that I have a LIFETIME alignment they wanted $160 to install shims on my rear tires to fully align the rear tires. WTF? Please stay clear of this place!! read more

Do not ever take your car here. They are crooks. They convinced me I need new tires. Then they broke the tire pressure sensor on my wheel when they replaced the tires. When I told them of the problem, they tried to convince me the sensor happened to run out of battery at exactly the same time they changed my tire. Avoid them at all cost. read more

Based on the reviews I should have known better! I took my car here (I usually take it to an Austin location) and they were very inconsistent with their diagnosis of my car. So, we decided to give this place a second chance and continued to go back to this place for oil changes. However, the last time we took our vehicle in for an oil change, they gave us an estimate for some "needed repairs." Their mechanic said the car needed new CV boots, both Left and Right, in the front. Their estimate for the parts and labor was approximately $800. We declined. First of all, our car has less than 100,000 miles on it. Second of all, I find it highly suspicious that both Left and Right CV boots need to be replaced at the same time. We took our vehicle to another shop for a second opinion. They took the entire front end apart, and discovered there was nothing wrong with the CV boots. Thank God we decided on a second opinion! So a month later I wanted to rotate my tire well when I try to to losen up the lug nuts one of them was stripped couldn't take it off. They can't even change a tire without "screwIng it up" no pun intended. Now I remember why I don't go to Fire Stone... Poor customer service is the best way to describe this place and any other Fire Stone I have ever been to. This visit brought me in because I needed a headlight replaced in my car and an expection all at the same time. Normally I would replace my own headlight but for whatever reason Acura decided to make it extremely difficult to switch a stupid light buld so I am forced to have a mechanic take care of it for me. And for anyone who doesn't believe I challenge you try it yourself. So back to Fire Stone... First of all, I had my own bulb but they said they couldn't put mine in, they had to put their bulb in. Well their story sure did change when the guy said they were out of the bulb my car takes. All of the sudden they were able to use my bulb. They charged me $24 to replace the bulb and $15 for in inspection (which is normal). I paid the $24 because I really needed the inspection done before leaving town. The last thing that upset was I was there for two hours and my car was taken right away. Like I said before I know the bulb is difficult to replace but with all the right tools you should be able to knock it out quickly. Two hours for an inspection and headlight switch was a bit much. I'm finding another place the next time I have a headlight go out. read more

KooI had set an appointment up for service a day ahead of time only to arrive and they did not have it in their system and told me it would be 6 hrs before they could get to me. Only having 1 vehicle and children with me I couldn't wait so I scheduled an appointment for the following day at 10am. The day prior I was told it could take up to 3 hrs for the service. Common sense says if you have an appointment your service will be performed. I went to pick up my car 4hrs later to find out they hadn't even started on it. My husband was clearly frustrated because this has consumed our whole weekend. I called the office to speak with the manager and Dan said he was I charge. I started to ask him why my services were not performed when I had an appointment. And instead of letting me finish he interrupted me and raised his voice and said that he has already explained to my husband that an appointment does not guarantee service at that time. I tried telling him I was not my husband and wanted to k ow why they even did appointments if that was the case and why was I told otherwise the day prior. Needless to say he wouldn't let me talk at all. Would not listen until it became a yelling match and i had to hang up on him. Not before I told him he had the worst custo.er service because he wouldn't even take a second to listen, he goes on to tell me that he is rated the best customer service. I made this appointment for 3:00 today, and it has taken them 2 hours to even get my vehicle into a stall. Now I'm coming up on my third hour sitting in this waiting area, and I'm worrying about getting my kids picked up on time, and dinner going! I would also like to mention that the staff here is disingenuous, and actually be a bit condescending to those customers who have expressed concerns today. I have made a career of servicing customers, and ensuring they don't leave without be 100% satisfied. I've been going to this Firestone for over 20 years and have always found their work to be fast and almost always excellent, and the time or two it wasn't excellent the first time, they made it so when I took it back. This place is pretty bad. I had a 3pm appointment for an oil change. They did not get to start until 4:30pm. This is just an oil change appointment. The manager did not even have the courtesy to let me know it was going to take this long. I wanted to use Firestone because I bought Firestone tires which is supposed to come with free tire rotations. Unfortunately, returning customers here are not priority.
