These guys are awesome! I got a blown out tire on I-35N while making a run from New Braunfels to Laredo, TX. I was working; racing against the clock to make a delivery on time. I pulled in to discount tire, they found my warranty, suggested two tires be changed and had them swapped and back on the road in less than 45 mins. I even made my delivery on time.... These guys don't mess around! Great customer service, excellent work ethic, reasonable prices and they had me back on the road with a few Pennie's left in my pocket and feeling completely satisfied. Only person that made this visit great was Dylan . He made me comfortable and explained what's going on and what's going to happening.. the guy name blane left me in confusion, I asked questions and he gave me stern answers . for example " sit down there . Now on the other hand Dylan will say" sit down right here while we set your car ready your on the waitlist . Now I understand what's going on . I felt I was in the military speaking to blane . I want to share my experience with Discount Tire. My son went there for a tire service and had to return several times due to mistakes in the work. The first time, the tires were not installed correctly and the car was pulling to one side while driving. He went back and was charged extra for an alignment. Later, he had to return again because all dashboard lights came on and they said they had forgotten to reset them. On another visit, they also failed to provide the rims because they had forgotten them. It was a very frustrating experience. He paid a significant amount of money and still received very poor service. I feel they took advantage of him because he is a young and inexperienced customer. Now we have to take the car somewhere else to fix their mistakes. I do not recommend this location. read more

Went in for just a tire repair since I had a screw in the middle tread. would take at least a 2 hour wait. Took vehicle to Martinez Tire and they repaired the tire in 15 minutes. Not worth waiting at Discount Tire for a repair. Martinez only charges $20.00 for the repair. read more

I went in yesterday morning with my son for an emergency tire repair. He couldn't drive up there and he needed to get an animal to the vet. We dealt with Blane. He was horribly rude and had we not been in such a hurry, I would have spoken with the manager. I did not appreciate the snotty attitude nor his opinion on what happened to the tire. My son was never notified when the tire was ready. Three generations of my family had gone to this location and we always get rude service. I made an appointment for 4:45 PM at Discount Tire and arrived on time, but was told my appointment wasn't in the system. They also said I was checked in, which was confusing. I ended up waiting over 90 minutes, and no one had taken my car keys or started working on my vehicle. During that time, other customers who arrived after me for their appointments were helped and finished before mine was even started. Went to have them check a tire right when they opened. Caleb didn't listen to the request nor that I was in a bit of a time crunch. He checked other things/tires and then asked which tire I was having an issue with. I get that they may have a routine to follow but be receptive to the customer and what they are asking/saying. I asked for my keys at that point and left to go have my issue taken care of elsewhere. Ended up having a nail in the tire that I was trying to tell him about. I typically use Discount Tires just not this location but tried to give this location another chance and it didn't work out. about 6 months ago i bought 2 tires from here. i have had a slow leak since then and no one has been able to find it. today i had another low tire but on the other side of the truck. Juan who was putting air in this morning suggested that i just have them take the tires off and check. along with a screw in the one side allowed them to find the issue with a faulty valve stem. i was so elated. he figured out what the issue was after months of me coming in and no one finding anything. juan was a dynamo in my books. read more

Just went there, to get an estimate for one of the Grand dodge caravans for the city of San Antonio, I was with my boss (wheel chair) city council member. They told us a price, I requested the estimate, so the the state can pay for it,And the guy refused to get the estimate on paper or at least in writing. Had to walk in but was signed in quickly. I like it that there is an area where you can charge your phone and you able to watch the garage area. Makes you appreciate how hard they are working. I wasn't expecting to but tires, and was apprehensive. The gentleman I talked to told me he didn't feel comfortable with me driving home with my tire like that because it could cause a blow out, so he gave me a great deal on some new tires. They will tell you whatever they have to to get you in the door. This location has raised the bait and switch concept to a new art form. We have had two incidents in just a few months: Today, my 16 yo son called for an appointment to get his tires rotated. They said "it's slow today, no appointment necessary." He went straight over there (10 min or so) and was told an hour. My wife met him there and confirmed everything that as said. He called me an hour later and let me know that they hadn't even moved his car in. My wife called and was told that "a bunch of appointments had just showed up" and it would be another hour. So, 'we aren't going to give you an appointment' [cuz you don't need one] turned into an hour, and that then turned into about two hours. This would have to mean that walk ins must always be superseded in line by people who make appointments after you're already checked in at the location as a walk-in. This would also mean that it is in the shops best interest to get you to walk in so that the appointments on line will still show as available, and apparently, they can then prioritize the appointments ahead of the pool of suckers that trusted them for the walk-ins. A couple of months ago, I went in to get a tire repaired. They looked at it and said they may not be able to repair it. I told them it was ok to give it a try. They claimed the tire was impossible to repair and then refused to put the tire back on the truck claiming liability. If liability were the issue, they would have a form for me to sign before putting it on. Their real motivation is that, when leaving me in a lurch w no tire available, I would have to buy one from them. I finally, after much arguing, got the tire put back on and when to RTS. RTS repaired the "impossible to repair" tire with no complaint. It's been fine since then. read more

This store opened in December 2018 and I saw the reviews from it on Google were pretty good, so I took my ride here to get the tires changed out but only before finding out the service prices, which weren't listed on the website or displayed anywhere in the store. (Sound like a shady mechanic sales tactic to you too? Yeah, I don't get why garages do this. And it's not just this company that does it; I could find prices for most places I researched.) I arrived at the store about 10 minutes before my appointment time, but then stood in line for 10 minutes before being acknowledged and helped. I am not a fan of this, especially if I have an appointment. The wait must've been pretty bad that day because the man at the front of the line left the store and said on his way out, "I guess they don't want my business." How long was he standing there before any of the associates said ANYTHING. Four computers, three associates, and nobody could say something? Even when it was finally my turn and Assistant Manager John Hernandez came up to me to shake my hand to greet me, I still find that sort of wait as bad business practice. Fix that and I'll give them five stars next time. The service I needed was pretty cut and dry. I had purchased new tires online, and needed all of that taken care of. The tire change, balance, and disposal totaled $156. (OH! If anyone has something to say about the price, please send me a comment. I'm not car savvy, so I don't know when mechanics are giving me good prices or ripping me off.) The best part of my service here was the wait time: they completed everything in only 30 minutes. I left as soon as they had my keys in their hand, and by the time I returned from lunch 45 minutes later the car was already finished. They pulled the car to the door for me from the parking lot, which was nice but unnecessary since it would've only been an additional 15 steps for me. And then I was off. I had paid when I checked in, so I just had to get my keys and take off. The store was VERY clean, including the bathrooms. And they had free coffee and plenty of seats available while you waited. Overall, good first impression. They just have to be better about that wait line. read more

Great service - came in in the late afternoon due to other commitments, but they rolled me out quite quickly. This time added new tires to a couple in good shape and they got them placed to get the most service out of my older two tires. Had a sidewall cut. Tried the fix a flat and saw it come out the side. Called around and found the cheapest price for the same tire as other places at discount tire. Price quoted over the phone was the price I paid. Balanced and valve stem and everything, cheaper than competitors. Came in 10 minutes before they closed but they didn't rush the job. I watched the entire repair. Got me back out in decent time and saved me some money. read more

So please do not misunderstand my inaction with the fantastic service my husband and I witnessed first hand in this first class establishment only this past Saturday. It was something! All we needed was one new tire on one old car: nothing fancy, just something made of rubber to cover the wheel so we could go from one place to another. Any other company in this industry, once they learned they weren't going to earn a fortune waiting on us, would've made crucial mistakes balancing the tire or when rotating the tires or they would've taken their dear sweet time getting the work done: but not Discount Tire! It may be a fluke as I went early on a Monday morning, but I was able to get 4 tires mounted and balanced and I was on my way in less than 45 mins.
