Absolutely horrible and inexcusable service! I have made appointments in advanced to have my vehicle serviced on 3 separate occasions during the past year. On all three instances they have had me waiting for up to 6 hours only to be told at the end of the day that they are not going to be able to get to my car. They also lie. On the first occasion I was told that they already had my vehicle up on the rack, yet I walked out and it was still parked in the same exact place. What's more Management does not care. They already have a well rehearsed "we're not going to be able to get to your car today and an I'm sorry, bring it in tomorrow", and they'll look you straight in the eyes and tell you without any remorse for making you wait endless hours for nothing. These people have already sucked 13 hours of my life waiting in that dump, because that's what this place is. This place is older than I am, there is hardly any parking, the parking lot is full of potholes, and crowded with so many cars you can barely get in. I would rate this place a 0 star if I could. And for anyone considering going there, know this: BE PREPARED TO WAIT, because wait you shall. And don't be too concerned about setting up an appointment either, because it doesn't matter. They simply DO NOT GIVE A DAMN about your appointment and your time period. I am so upset, that I am going to file a formal complaint with the BBB and with the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) and the Attorney Generals Office. I want my 13 hours of life back and I am going to try to make these lying and grossly irresponsible and incompetent individuals give them to me in the form of 13 labor hours for future work on my car. And a ride home each and every time I drop it off, because I am no longer willing to wait at this place, not even for an oil change. read more

If you're in the market for spending more than you should on tires, only to have them put on the wrong tire, this is your spot. If you are the kind of person who enjoys having their time wasted, by setting an appointment to have previously diagnosed (by Firestone) work done, only to arrive and be told they didn't get your tire ordered and the control arms they themselves told you were needed actually can't be ordered unless the car is on premise - you'll love this place though. Pulled in here to get an oil change and two men that worked there (I think they did- at least. They were standing in the parking lot and were the only people who even acknowledged I was there) were incredibly rude to me and I literally turned around and drove to a Jiffy Lube 10 mins away. I asked for an oil change and they kept saying it would take anywhere from 3 hours to 3 days and just laughed at me. I would avoid this specific location. I was a customer for ten years. I found them to be dishonest. They sold me a new battery when they merely recharged the old one. (I had suspected they'd done it in the past to me, so I marked the battery before I brought in the car.) I paid over $600 for engine mount bushings. A year later, I took the car to a different shop (neighborhood business for 80 years), and they said the mounts had never been changed. I went to Firestone because you could make no interest payments with their credit card. But I wasn't saving any money. It's hard to control quality with these franchises. By far the worst experience I've ever had. I had been a long time customer at Firestone: multiple tires replaced, oil changes, etc. This was my final experience. Do not go here, go to West Coast Tire instead. I called on a Thursday to replace my tire and they quoted me $685 (which I previously replaced for $450) but mentioned it's a special tire and it's hard to come by. He saw the $450 tire in their system but they didn't have it in stock. The staff member offered me a 10% discount. The tire would arrive Monday by 12n. I called 11:30am Monday to confirm, 3 staff members transferred me around not knowing about the order nor how to help. The third person began telling me the tire wasn't there but he could order me a new one for Wednesday. He literally made up an excuse that there is increased prices due to COVID unlike the first person who saw the tire in the system and mentioned it wasn't available. After a few minutes on the phone, "Sir I'm not gonna go back and forth with you and explain it, either you want the tire or not". I hung up, that was it. I called West Coast Tire immediately after at around 11:45am on Monday. They had exactly my original "hard to find" tire, charged me $377 and had it installed and replaced on Tuesday morning. On July 16, 2021, my mom brought her car in for an oil change. The mileage was 51,277. The associate recommended that she have a synthetic oil change which should last for 5,000 miles. My mom waited approximately 2 hours and paid $78.39.     A little over 2 months later, my moms change oil and oil filter lights came on, which was concerning considering that she had only driven 1218 miles. So, on September 27, 2021, she took her car back to this store to see what was going on. After waiting approximately 1 hour, the sales associate told her the technician checked her oil and it's dirty. But it's ok, she had about another 1000 miles before she needed it changed. So, she should come back then. At that point, my mom reminded her that she had her oil changed less than 3 months ago, and had only driven 1218 miles and that the only way her oil could have been dirty is because they never changed the oil or oil filter originally.     After waiting another 45 minutes, theoretically the technician did their job and she was able to leave.  As a car novice, she is dependent upon "reliable / reputable" companies to work on her car. However, clearly that is not the case. Even with my mom's limited knowledge, she is fully aware of the damage that could have happened to her car due to lack basic maintenance.     This situation epitomizes every negative thing about car servicing companies / auto mechanics. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! This place had me come back multiple times a week for over a month and the same problem I came here for was NOT fixed. They kept charging me and just resetting my check engine light and not actually servicing my car. I found out by eventually having it looked at elsewhere by a friend of a friend who finally fixed the issue. I got some of my money back after questioning them about the service. I also dropped my car off with half a tank of gas once and it was nearly empty when I picked it up, I'm not surprised if they just used my vehicle for a joyride which is ILLEGAL. I came in to repair a tire & to obtain an alignment on a Saturday. I ended up being helped by the manager who was very nice, helpful & informative! I was also blown away by how fast my car was done and the drive now is like night/day it's so smooth! Thank you Firestone for the great quality service. Update: someone hit my car at work literally two days after my alignment (they hit the passenger side wheel) & I had to go back to check the alignment. We got a flat while driving through LA on vacation. We brought the car into this Firestone to get the tire replaced. They told us it would be done in about 3 hours, which felt long but we were OK with. We found things to do, but when we returned 3 hours later, they had not moved the car or done any work on it. It turns out they needed the tire delivered from another Firestone, and got the wrong one. When the correct tire did arrive, they had no one available to put it on. Through all of this, they gave us no updates. Only by repeatedly asking did we get any information. Once they did bring the car into the service bay, it took an additional 90 minutes to get the tire changed. They seem short staffed. I recommend to management, if they read this, to train staff to give accurate information, voluntarily. I recognize that delays and mistakes happen, but the inconvenience and frustration are exacerbated when the time commitments are not updated when circumstances change. We could have stayed out doing things rather than waiting at the Firestone for several hours. read more

Finally said they are waiting for a plug to be delivered in 15 minutes. 25 minutes later had to stop someone and ask again and was told the wrong plug was delivered. They don't keep customers in the loop. Just have them waiting. Poor customer service. Also, didn't tell us they had to rotate the tires. The vehicle had been sitting there for 3 hours and no one thought to rotate the tires while waiting for a plug. Gee whiz! Also, the restroom looks like an outhouse. I recently moved from SF to LA and needed an oil change. Prior to my move, I had purchased the lifetime wheel alignment and also had Brake Fluid Exchange done from Wheel works in SF, which is a sister branch of the Firestone family. Called today at around 7:50AM and spoke to Jennifer who was very professional and courteous, gave me a few time slot options and also confirming that my lifetime wheel alignment purchased at the sister branch will be honour without issue. After I dropped off my car, I also opt-in for the car inspection for an additional $9.99. A couple of hours later, Alexis called me on the phone and told me that they found rust in my brake fluid and recommended a fluid exchange. I looked through my e-receipts and found that it was done just in June so it shouldn't have rusted so quickly. Alexis agreed and asked the tech to double-check again. About 30 min or so later, Alexis called back and confirm that the brake fluid is indeed contaminated and explained that perhaps the other tech at the sister branch may not have flushed the old fluids properly. Without my prompting, he offered to make things right by correcting the issue without additional charge. I was driving up to Santa Barbara and wanted to make sure my car was in good working order so I brought it here for an oil change. Somehow I made it all the way to Santa Barbara without a problem, but on my way back I could hear/feel something flopping around on the bottom of my car. I hadn't hit anything, but I thought maybe something had been on the road that I didn't see and it was trapped under my car. I pulled off the freeway and went to an auto mechanic - very nice guy. Turns out the mechanics at Firestone neglected to screw the skid plate back on when they were done. The nice mechanic said that all my tires were low as well, and that they should have taken care of that. I hope they remembered to actually put oil in after they drained it! I'm taking my car to my regular mechanic now to make sure it's okay. Definitely don't recommend this place. read more

TIRE Panicked when I realized my Michelin tires were way too old. Shocked the sticker price to replace all four, including hazard insurance, was close to $1300. Apparently, 18" tires aren't that common, hence the expense. Plus, they had to order them. After discussing this with my brother and my mechanic, I went with Bridgestones, which they had in stock. No, Firestone can't compete with Tire Rack, but they will try to match local competitor prices. Mario took care of me within minutes and worked with me to get the price down to under $1000. In less than an hour, I was sporting new wheels. Glad I purchased their Lifetime Wheel Alignment policy awhile ago. Since construction is rampant in LA, and I've had too many flats from errant nails, their expensive road hazard policy is essential, especially since I've used it in the past. Yes, you're paying for peace of mind, but you're going to pay even more if you don't. Open a Firestone credit card for a 5% discount and avoid interest payments as long as you pay this off within 6 months; otherwise, their loan shark interest rate of nearly 29% is staggering. I've been a long-time client of this shop and in the last year or so under a new manager, I've gone from loving and wanting to recommend this shop to being so heartbroken and disappointed and plain ripped off that I will not trust them again unless they make right what they did. FOUR oil changes in a row I mentioned the coolant depleting and the miles on my engine indicating a blowing head gasket. Two oil changes ago I mentioned it again as small amounts of coolant were disappearing and now the trademark sign, misfiring when the engine was cold. They supposedly did a compression test and supposedly did a diagnostic and told me they couldn't reproduce the symptoms of misfiring. It was happening 9/10 times when I would start the car. So I began to smell a rat. Last oil change it was now 10/10 times when it would misfire and gradual coolant loss. Again I was told they couldn't reproduce the symptoms and that they recommended plugs, plug packs and a fuel system cleaning. I get my car back still misfiring and I'm out $1280.00. I drive it for 4 days and the symptoms go from a little to alot. My gut tells me to check my coolant levels. TWO INCHES OF COOLANT IN THE UPPER RESERVOUR! I add coolant to the low line and see and smell the signature sign of a blown head gasket, white smoke coming out of the tailpipe. I turn it off and come back out the next day and the coolant is lower. I add it again, run it for a bit and leave it parked. Next day I check again and more coolant loss. No leaks anywhere. Their manager that has been there a little over a year deflects me when I come in to speak on this an tells me claims will call me. I'm an Uber driver. This literally destroyed my tool for work. Prior to this last year or so i had great experiences with this shop. I get ONE call from claims saying they think this is a local area manager thing. I call the claims person and NEVER get him to answer or return my calls. Finally after over two months the area manager calls me back. He acts like he will make this right. I told him what I wanted which is them to cover 75% of the cost to fix it now and let me make payments on the other 25% as another shop in my past (a Volvo shop) had made a mistake and took this approach. That Volvo shop that I was referencing was a small independent shop that acted with integrity. It's been two days since this area manager called me so I inquire with him. Too many texts. So I call him. I ask what they are planning to do to make this right. Now my hope and confidence in him starts to plummet. He says they will take a look and if it's something small they will cover the cost. He says if it's the head gasket we would speak on the matter. He keeps stopping me on the head gasket talk as I'm not a mechanic. I mentioned that I gave them a chance on two different diagnostics and now I'm broke because they didn't listen to me. Here's the thing... They did ALL the work on my car for over 6 years. They knew my car intimately. I had been mentioning the head gasket to avoid bigger expenses at the first sign. I have over 250,000 miles on a 2014 Prius. Any idiot can look up that and misfire and you will see a barrage of posts about the expected head gasket blowing for Prius 2010-2014. I've given them a year. I'm taking it in in the morning and we will see what results. I have zero faith that they will make good. I'm heartbroken because they had done such great work and service in the past to the point I'd put their integrity up there with the Volvo mechanic that had made good when he made a mistake that cost me an engine. Now I don't trust them at all. So this may be an exercise in futitlity. If they don't make good it's BBB, Consumer Affairs, BAR and circulating within a huge community I'm a part of to boycott this shop and Firestone in general. I thought I had finally found another shop I could trust. Not now. I attribute the quality of service with the woman managing now. I see a bunch of 1 and 2 star ratings on here within the time period she has been there including paying for work not even done.. Nobody had pride in their work now. Just pride. read more

What really boils my blood is the ability for ALL Firestones that I've been to (not exclusive to this one), to take FOREVER just to change my oil and to rotate my tires. I'm leaving this Firestone at 5:30 pm WITH a reservation just for an oil change and to rotate my tires. If someone here is an expert and can tell me the average time it takes to rotate tires and change oil, that'd be great so maybe I can adjust my rating. A while back I had my rear brakes done along with the rotors at this place, heard a squeaking noise, so I made an appointment for 9 AM, two hours later for just a brake inspection and a tire rotation, i'm told that the rotors they installed had groove's in them and they needed to be replaced. Why the hell would I come back here if the product that's defective, Seriously. Only 20k in miles on rotors? The pads have over 50% remaining and on top of that after I told him just to take it off the rack, it took another 45 min to get my car. So I get home 5 min away and discover 3 lug nut caps missing. So I go back and recite the sign inside that says "honesty is the cornerstone of business". They were obviously not going to say anything. read more

Last week I took my car out of storage, my rear passenger tire wouldn't keep air so I went to Firestone to buy a new tire. I live within walking distance so it was a convenient option. I was greeted by Adrian who took great care of me. I let him know that I also would like air in the rest of my tires & I would only be purchasing one tire. My keys were given to Luis & that's where the problem started. My car was pulled up to the front, not into the garage port. Luis jacked up my car and I proceeded to make small talk with him while he took my tire off. He ignored me, that's ok. He doesn't have to talk to me. He came back with my tire and I proceeded to make some more small talk with him. Ignored again. I'm just trying to get a feel for the person that's making sure my car drives down the road safely. I asked if he was hearing me and was given complete attitude. Walked away running his mouth in front of his coworkers and his boss for the day (Adrian). I went inside to pay & come back out to my car all while Luis is still running his mouth as I'm pulling out of the parking lot. VERY VERY DISRESPECTFUL. Granted he did change the tire.
