I have been to this Firestone store 2 times. The 1st time was for an oil change and they tried to sell me 2 expensive services that I didn't need. The 2nd time I had a flat tire late Sunday evening and had to use fix a flat. I went to the same Firestone store and they told me my almost new tire was trash. The following day I went to a repair shop and they fixed it with no problem. I don't know if this is how they conduct all business or if it is how they try to sell a single women tires they don't need or expensive service they don't need. I won't go back! read more

I've taken my car here for oil changes before. Good service, and there was some upselling but not too bad. Then, I took my car in to have the brakes checked as I'd been hearing some grinding -- not bad, but just wanted to check. Dropped the car off at 8:00 and they weren't done with it until after 2:00. (Granted, I wasn't sitting there waiting for it but 6 hours to check it out?) Then, when I picked it up, they showed me their recommendations -- about $900 worth of repairs! I was told that my car was "unsafe to drive" and that I should have the repairs done right away. They could even help finance it (aww, thanks!). I told them no, not today, and again got the "unsafe to drive" spiel, like I'm going to die in a fiery crash if I drive away without getting my brakes fixed. I took the car to two other shops over the next week (without telling them what Firestone had recommended -- would they find the same things??) and both shops said everything was fine. I hope this attempt at a serious upsell wasn't because I'm a single woman - which the guys at Firestone are aware of. read more

I would never take another car there for anything! I took My car in for breaks and the rear breaks were really bad. This I knew. the job was way overpriced but everything had to be replaced. As I drove out, I heard some "whining noise" I thought it would possibly go away. After 6 weeks, it was still there. I needed to have some other things looked at and so I complained of a few things and the whining. They told my my fluids needed to be flushed, airfilter, break house and a few other things. The original quote over the phone was just under 380. We rounded to 400.. But they never heard the whining. (weird..) I picked the car up and the quote was now over 700. I paid for an oil change and an inspection. Had a second opinion. HIs quote was about 250 with everything I needed, even with something I wanted to have replaced but wasn't necessary. When firestone had replaced the drums in the rear, the mechanic noted that the left rear was where the noise was coming from. He found drum friction surface chatter marks from them machining the drums! WTF I called firstone to see if they could look at it and he said I would have to bring it in. I said why wasn't this aknowledged last timed. How come every time I drive the car, I hear it but you didnt. I called another firstsone location and the guy said he will be happy to fix it. This location is all about upselling and not actually fixing the problems that need to be actually fixed.. The break hose and labor was 60 bucks at another shop. They were nice although it has a level of service similar to Chinese restaurants. Customer service is average but wasnt rude or anything. The salesmanship to a degree I have to commend. They ask for the sale on extra services and aren't too pushy about it. The facility is clean and nice, kids had stuff to keep busy. I was in a hurry and they were able to recognize and service that. Expensive oil change, plus a couple days after, with zero issues with brakes before, suddenly the brake pad and rotor on the driver side are messed up. Horribly. This is strange because it was just purchased and inspected less than a year ago, no signs of problems with brakes, and suddenly, after the oil change at this location, there's a dramatic change. We (my fiancé and I) are highly suspicious and really advise people to go elsewhere, just in case the brakes on my car were truly messed with in order to get business. Took my Subaru in today for an oil change. These guys were really accommodating and I was able to get a same day appointment which I don't often encounter. I mentioned I was heading out of town tomorrow and was in a time crunch; even though they were busy, they did their best to help me get this done before the trip. Customer service from Chris was excellent beginning to end and duration of service was quoted accurately. I plan on going back for a few more maintenance items soon. read more

I started bringing my Honda Element in for various items. They fixed my sway bar and put in a new starter that I'd just had Goodyear put in a year ago...so now after a recent incident, wondering if they damaged the Goodyear starter (which should have lasted for years) to cause me to buy a new one from them. I explained that the car has been vibrating badly for several months. First John told me it's not vibrating (like I'm imagining it). Returned from a trip to LaPush and was afraid the wheels were going to fall off - the car was shaking so badly. Brought the car back to Firestone and they balanced the tires. Still shaking. Returned a week later so they could rotate the tires (which wasted precious time because the balance and rotation could have been done the SAME DAY). Car still shaking. Was told after getting tires rotated that a rim was bent and that might be the problem. I had them order a rim. The day I was to have it replaced I brought the car in and got a call a half hour later that they ordered the WRONG rim and that the right rim for my car would cost $150 MORE. So I told them to order it. SO- I returned AGAIN a week later, but this time I asked them to SHOW ME my bent rim before installing the new one. He goes into the shop area, returns and tells me, "Oh you actually don't need the rim. It's not bent enough to cause the vibration." WELL WHY ARE YOU WASTING MY TIME when I'm supposed to be moving in a few weeks and driving the car 3 states away? They send me to Renton Transmission where I encountered MORE B.S. Pete says my tires are two different sizes and to fix that first but most likely the shaking is caused by bad Axles and it would cost $400 for him to just LOOK at each of the 4 sides! I take the car to Discount Tire and they confirmed that the tires ARE the same size and rebalanced them for me. BACK to Firestone to confirm that the tires are correct. That's when Greg did a hard upsell after I told him Axles are the issue, not the tires or the rim. "Yeah but you REALLY NEED to get those 2 tires that match before you drive it to AZ!" I asked will that fix the vibration, and he said No. So I asked "Why are you trying to sell me TIRES then? I need the VIBRATION fixed!" Today- frustrated with the b.s. I took it to MIDAS in Factoria! A pleasant WOMAN answered the phone, fit me into their busy schedule, knew which axles were most likely damaged on my Honda Element, quoted me over the phone, and by the end of the day my car was fixed. They checked it for FREE, TEST drove it first, had the parts, Got 'er DONE, TEST drove it again and charged me a fair price. Firestone used to be my "go-to" shop until they started screwing me (again...single women beware, I've had to write similar bad reviews for Goodyear here in the Highlands also). Called in to get a quote on tires and was put on hold 3 times for 5+ minutes. After 5 minutes I hung up and decided to try 30 minutes later. "We are with a customer, can you please hold". After I mentioned that I was put on hold 3 times, I was put on hold again. I called 4 other tire shops in the area and they were able to help me immediately. read more

Buyer beware. These guys charge you based on a rate suggested in a book. Then work thier tails off to get through the job in half the time. This results in poor quality work at high prices. Perhaps it's a scam to get you back in the front door. They over charged me for a tune up and used the wrong oil on my oil change. How do you mess up a basic oil change and stay in business? Similar bad experiences with this Firestone, only 1 of 4 visits have things gone okay, and that was the purchase of new tires (which took longer than normal to install). Just recently, took car in for front brake check (still under warranty), front rotors needed turning just at 1 year, with less than 4K miles since brake job?? Turned rotors and suggested rear brakes needed taken care of, new rotors needed of course. Had work performed, noticed when I got home passenger side rear wheel and rotor extremely hot and intermittently squealing when pulling off (none of this prior to work) , took back in, could not duplicate problem, FS suggested replacing calibers, I declined, picked car up, won't be going back. Brother in-law took his vehicle to firestone against my recommendation and surely enough the mechanic and service hasn't changed much. Still crappy work. He brought his vehicle in for vibration/shaking issue. There diagnosis was that the fuel injector was bad and charged him $900 to fixed the problem. After the service the next day the vehicle's check engine light came on....brought it back and firestone said another injector was bad and it would cost another $500 and that is with them being generous with waiving the labor fee since they worked on it a day before. Got a quote of $600 for parts and labor to replace the fuel injectors. He paid $900 and the crap still doesn't run correctly! read more

I just moved to the area and was looking for a reliable auto shop close to home. This one is the closest. It had so many mixed reviews, I decided to give it a try anyways. I saw on numerous post that this "Boh" guy is great, so of course I ask for him when I first walked in. The place was clean and professional. Boh was very nice and courteous. Service was great and I felt the price was fair. Sure, he tried to up-sale, suggest additional services, but really what service industry doesn't? I never felt he was pushy or intimidating, simply suggestive. I simply declined and that was that. For the ones that are bothered by that, I really think have never worked in any type of service industry before. Bottom line is, I would definitely recommend this place to my family and friends, and will definitely be back myself. Service was great, work was done on time, price was fair. (I never go to super cheap places. I believe price represents quality in a lot of stuff). Really, what else do you want from an auto shop? A free lunch? read more

First problem Firestone didnt tighten my lug nut on my truck. Didnt get an apology as i almoat got into an accident. Second they said one of my tires needed to be replace with a new one. I took my tire that firestone said needed to be replace with a new one was perfectly fine. AND the supposedly shift manager big douche bag aid they have different policy then other tire stores. More like their policy is to fucken scam customers. Third took my truck in to check my brakes. The two douche bags at the counter were total idiots and have no customer service whatsoever siad i needed over 2000 dollars worth of parts to be replaced. I took my truck to another tire shop all my truck needed was just new brake pads and rotors. Fixed the situation. So fuck firestone and their bullshit scaming ass fucks. I will never spend another penny there and i will let everyone of my relatives that uses firestone know what kind of crooks they are not just one location but multiple locations. I'm only giving one star due to the fact that I cannot give 0 stars. The first couple of times I came to this Firestone for a oil change, I was in and out, happy with their service. I went in another time, and they had a "special" on a complete vehicle inspection. I said sure, why not. They finished the inspection, and gave me a estimate for about $3000 worth of repairs I supposedly needed done on my car. I was absolutely shocked. Next time I was due for a oil change, I went to the Covington location because it was closer to work. I had the $3000 estimate from the Renton Firestone in my glovebox and asked Covington if they wouldn't mind checking all of the things out that "needed to be repaired". They did the inspection for free, and told me I needed absolutely nothing repaired on my vehicle. The only thing the Covington location recommended was a Fuel System Cleaning which made sense. The Cov. Location was more shocked than I was with the idiots at the Renton Firestone. I took the estimate to another mechanic shop to have them look over, and again, I was only encouraged to get a fuel system cleaning. After all of this from the Renton Firestone, I decided I'd try one more time with them. Got my oil changed, they told me I needed brand new tires ASAP. I just got the tires last July. So there's no way in hell I already needed new tires ASAP. I told that to the employee who said I needed new tires, and he proceeds to ask me "well where'd you get the tires put on?" I said "Does that really have ANYTHING to do with the wear on my tires?!" He said nothing after that. I payed, and I left without another word. Went to discount tire today, they checked my tires, they said my tires are perfectly fine. Renton Firestone is a complete joke. I will never return to this location again. The tech tried to argue with me about my own car that i built myself. On top of that i had to pay them! If i could do my own computer alignment i would. Had a nail in my tire so I took the car to the shop in Renton. They were extremely busy on a hot day but they fit me in. I was leaving for a drive to Vancouver, B.C. the next day so it was imperative to fix the tire. Unfortunately the bent nail created a large hole upon removal. They didn't think they would be able to repair the tire so a new one would be needed...the next morning. I had no time for this hiccup so the tech spent some time on the tire. Net/net he was able to repair it and I've had no issues since. I'm super grateful for the work of the staff. I'll be back the next time the car needs work. Thank you!!! read more

I made an online appointment. The way their system works is the online system is run by the national corporation. Online appointments are sent to the local service center for confirmation. Well, I placed an appointment the night before for a 7:00am appointment and got the confirmation at 6:40am. When I arrived, their manager informed me that I'd have to leave the car there until noon. Note, this was the same person that confirmed my appointment! Of course, I asked him why and what was the point of making an appointment? All I needed was them to install new tires that I was bringing in, but they couldn't do it. I had a flat tire and was looking for a repair, it was just past 7am and took it to Firestone since they were the only place open. a short while later they said the flat was not repairable (even though I saw a screw in the middle of the tread) and furthermore the tread was so low that I had to buy 4 new tires, since it was an AWD vehicle. Luckily I declined and opted to wait until costco opened which is where I got my tires. Costco was able to easily repair my tire and showed me that I still had 7/32" tread left so I was plenty fine. Idiots running the front desk here. I brought my car in to do an a/c recharge. They take two days to do it then send me home with my car. I bring it back in because there was no change in the temp. They told me they had a miscommunication and didn't recharge it. So obviously they don't even test out their fix before giving back the cars. This place has some bad customer service as they take from 10-20 to attend you. So if your appointment is at 12 expect to be attended 20 minutes later and that's just for a small patch on your tires. It took them 1 hour 30 minutes to put a patch in my tire, and the patch didn't work so the told me I had to buy a new tire from them. Like you take a long time to put a patch and you can't even put it right. They were talking to me like if I didn't know how to put a patch on a tire. read more

Then yesterday they refused my personal check even though I have excellent credit rating and more than sufficient funds. They have some stupid telacheck system that says I don't have a long enough track record even though we have excellent credit records dating back to 1970. What's with that? read more
