We had a car breakdown on our way home from a road trip. On a Sunday afternoon they were the only place open. They took us in right away and fixed a shredded serpentine belt in under 2 hours. They damaged a clip during the repair and owned up to it/replaced it for free without us having to ask. Overall great service, would recommend! read more

I had just driven to simi valley and was on my way back to ventura when my check engine light came on and my car started shaking as I accelerated. I pulled off the freeway and luckily was not far from firestone. I pulled in, got out, and went inside where I talked to one of the service techs. Between the symptoms and what I was able to tell him about the history of the car, he diagnosed the problem quickly, had one of his guys fix it, and I was back on the road, good as new, in less than 20 min with a bill totaling less than what it costs to get a carwash. Since purchasing my vehicle 2yrs ago, Ive been a customer of firestone. The service is great and affordable. Also the people who work there genuinely care about people. read more

In the past, whenever I was in need of an oil change I would always go wherever I could find a coupon, but for the past couple of years I always go to this Firestone. They have such great service and will help you work out the best deal. I used to come just for oil changes but now i come for most services, including tires. This is a very well run shop and my favorite Firestone location (I've been to several). I started doing business with Firestone several years ago when I was looking for tires. They gave me a great line of credit without any hoops to jump through. Over the years I used many different locations and came to settle on the Hillcrest location at the Oaks Mall. I started adding different services, oil changes, alignment, alternater replacement, battery and additional more complex work. I feel very comfortable when I walk in as I am greated as a customer and feel that my business is highly valued. Like all automobile service centers things do not always go as planned. Jobs end up being more complicated and sometimes take longer (and more costly). These guys always stand behind their word. They are very professional and are always aiming to please. They work with me on pricing when they can, and they keep their promises. The level of work is very high, and when I called them on one or two things I didn't feel met my expectitions, they always own up to it and never cop an attitude. They are my favorite go-to mechanic shop for all three cars I own. Erik and Matt know how to run the store and have made me a big fan of the Oaks Mall location. My hats off to the Firestone Company for hiring and keeping good people who definately can make or break your experience. The other great thing is you can walk to the Oaks Mall just across the way, do some shopping, eat some good food, and generally kill more time than is usually necessary while waiting for your car. Just simply amazed with the level of care provided by this Car Care Place. It is so hard to find a truly trust worthy mechanic and I have had my personal experience with a few, but this Place is exactly what non-car people need. They were very thorough and took time to explain all recommendations. The Manager Mr. Esparza was genuine and sincere. All of his employees were a direct reflection of his leadership. Many people use Yelp to Voice their concerns and poor experience. If only people would put the same energy into complimenting on superior service, then just maybe a positive trend will result in a more balanced review. Great Job Mr. Esparza and Firestone Team. So I've been coming here for many years. I'll start by saying that every time I come here just for a simple oil change. I leave here with a laundry list of repairs I supposedly need to take care of. I've taken my car to many different mechanics for second opinions. They laugh and say there's no way there's these many problems or you car would be on the road. I understand they work on commission but they don't need to lie just to make a quick buck. Especially when I've already dropped thousands here over the years. read more

I went to this Firestone in a pinch because my battery and alternator was dead and I didn't have time to shop around for a mechanic. The customer service in the shop was awesome. I dealt with Matt and Pablo and they made sure to keep me informed on my car every step of the way. They did not try to sell me something I didn't need or look for anything else that was wrong. Matt even called me the next day to make sure everything was good. 4 out of 5 stars because of the price, which I thought was higher then normal ($300 for the alternator alone!). I'd probably go back if needed, but would ask around at other shops for pricing first. read more

Appointments mean NOTHING. We were told to schedule an appointment (for the free front end alignment from buying tires). We showed up at 8:50AM for 9AM appointment. We were told the car would be done by 12 and there were only 2 cars there at the time. We showed at 11:50AM and the car had NOT moved. We were guaranteed the car would be done!! They had no idea why it hadn't been completed. I don't trust ANYTHING Firestones says or does. Simi Valley does the same thing!!! I will NEVER recommend Firestone. read more

I brought my car in for an oil change. They told me that I needed new tires so I said fine. When I went to pick up the car, they had forgotten to change the oil. It is a big deal to drop off my car for the whole day. I have tolerated mistakes from this place in the past but this is it. There are plenty of other places in town with faster and better service, especially the ones that are family-owned. I will say that most of the people who work here are kind. I just have a feeling that not everyone is honest. read more

This place surprised me with their level of care. I got my tired less than 2 years ago at discount tire in thousand oaks and was not told they were LOW GRADE! I was told they would last 70k miles and at 40k or LESS they are shot! Firestone was able to show me the wear and tear and they gave me a price for tires that are 3 grades better and that price is the same price that discount tire gave me. COME HERE FOR ALL YOUR NEEDS! oil change was 20 bucks and they actually care about you. I will be coming here again for ALL of my car needs read more

I came to Firestone this past Friday (Sept. 6th) for an oil change and because my front left blinker light was not working. Upon picking up my car, i was told that "in-fact" it was an electrical problem and was quoted and extremely pressured to accept a 300$+ charge for inspection just to confirm. They told me they had tried a new blinker bulb and it didn't work still..AND as a "courtesy" had left the nice new bulb in my car for me. I was also told my battery of only 3 years old needed to be replaced because it was almost completely empty (a receipt showing the battery level was given to me to see). Because i had, had a car accident this past January in this exact location where the blinker wasn't working, i took my car to the body shop where it was fixed to hopefully help with the "electrical issue" my car was having (might i note it was an hour and a half drive from where i lived). The auto body dealer tried to examine the new bulb Firestone had placed in my car to see if there really was an "electrical issue" but it was incorrectly jammed in its outlet (no wonder the bulb was a "courtesy".. they jammed it in incorrectly and couldn't get it out) so the only way the auto body team could remove it was by smashing it. The auto body dealer told me there was no electrical issue and in-fact just the wrong kind of bulb was placed in my outlet. Such that the only real problem from the very start was the bulb for my blinker was burnt out. They didn't charge me for the new correct bulb they placed in my car and were very informational and helpful..although gaining this knowledge outraged me about Firestone. I drove back home and went straight to Firestone, and asked to speak to the Manager. I required them to re-test my battery for me (luckily for me i bought the battery from them so any replacement they recommended was covered by THEIR warranty they sold me). Not a shocker but, to my surprise my battery had 3/4ths the fluid left and was determined still in good shape, hence not needing to be replaced. I have both receipts with dates as proof if i later try to make something of this because i am very outraged. When the manager finally came to me he seemed to deny most of the actions i was bothered with...he even went as far as to say that he didn't think the jammed courtesy light bulb was theirs. Very frustrated and feeling ripped off by a chain-company i thought i could trust. I got a free oil change from the manager due to my dis-satisfied opinion, but at this point i don't want them to even touch my car after this incident. Will not be coming back to ANY Firestone ever again. I'd rather go to my car's dealership mechanics. read more

Over the years I have periodically used Firestone. I always found them somewhat a shifty operation. On July 4 I had a flat tire and they were one of the only places open, The puncture was a small nail about one inch from the center of the tire, I was informed it could not be fixed since it the puncture was not in the middle of the tire. He would gladly sell me a new tire for $120+. The following day I took it to Tire Pros in Thousand Oaks who promptly fixed it and advised me he had no idea why Firestone would not fix it other than to sell me a new tire. read more

8/5/2016 UPDATE: I received a comment in my review from Firestone corporate, Socialcare@bfrc.com, to discuss my experience privately. I reached out to them via email as requested and to date have received ZERO reply. Again, buyer beware! __________________________ We have taken our cars to this Firestone location for tires and minor repairs for years. When our daughters BMW broke down nearby, we didn't hesitate to have it towed to this location. BIG MISTAKE. They ran a computer diagnostics ($95 non refundable) and determined the serpentine pulley broke ($450), shattering the coolant reservoir ($270). And while we're at it, the the lower radiator hose is pliable and "might be bad" ($200) and you need an oil change ($87). Total bill: $1,100!!!! Two days later the radiator light comes on, and back we go to Firestone. OOPS...we "missed" the crack in your radiator because we didn't perform a pressure test..you'll need a new one! They comped the radiator because they "misdiagnosed" the coolant reservoir leak. Several days later the power steering goes out..Check the level and discover a major leak! Power steering AND transmission fluid gushing out from under the car. Take the car to a certified BMW mechanic who determined leaks were caused by Firestone when they replaced the radiator (incorrectly) , and left an O ring completely off one hose and didn't reinstall the 2nd 0 ring correctly..Spent another $500 fixing the radiator mistake. They don't know what they are doing!! They didn't even reset the oil light! read more

I would like to say I received great customer service here from Eduardo Centeno and Pablo. After an initial diagnosis and replacement of a MASF sensor my Chevy Tahoe stalled two days later repeating what happened before the initial repair. I had it towed in again and they took another look at it. Here is the part I was impressed with- they admitted that they misdiagnosed the problem and said further investigation revealed my fuel pump was bad. They not only replaced it free of charge, parts and labor they also covered the cost of a rental for me while it was being fixed. They were very apologetic and not once attempted to charge me any additional costs. Let me tell you that this is very rare. I've had many experiences where each time I brought in my vehicle in for a recurring problem I was told NOW this or that is bad and the charges compiled because of a misdiagnosis. So I would just like to thank Eduardo and Pablo for their honesty and integrity and good business sense because they have just earned a repeat customer. read more

Worst place EVER to take your car for any repairs. My husband and I had taken our cars there a couple times..and each time replaced things WITHOUT fixing the actual problem!! We would have to go back a 2nd time and they would say...oh..it must be something else!! They fixed our A/C costing over $350 only for it to go out 3 days later..then told us it was a different part of the AC and would cost another 400??? Then they replaced a brake sensor on the car for 500 only to tell us a few days later it was actually the module that should have been replaced and cost another 700 which we insisted they pay at least half of that. We havent been there in 2 yrs and have found an incredible car repair shop in Agoura Hills...Agoura Car care..very honest..very reasonable. read more

I have been there 4 times. My experience is always excellent. I bought tires, have had service and this last time, had an issue with tire pressure. They found a tiny screw on the inside rim of one of the tires, replaced the tire under warranty. The staff is courteous and friendly. I'm a happy customer! Highly recommend !!!! read more

I'm sad to write this but.. I just ran by to have my fluids looked at and topped off. First off I got a MAJOR attitude from the technician, (sorry I took 5 minutes out of his precious day) then he lied to me. I am capable of checking and filling ( and have) fluids but as I was in business attire and didn't think it should be an issue to ask them to do it, I even offered to pay. He looked at my coolant and washer fluid, did not give a glance at anything else ( I watched him) and closed the hood. I then opened the hood again and asked him to look at the rest, he wasn't happy, oh well. There were 2 other cars in the bay so I wasn't taking him away from anything more pressing. I was referred to them by someone in my office who had great service with them, they no longer take their car there because of issues, guess I better follow suit. It's not the first issue I've had with them but it will be the last with this branch. read more

I used to only go to Firestone whenever my car needed fixing... but a few years ago I received the worst service which has vowed me to never go to any Firestone location ever again. I paid over $1,000 to get my car fixed. They were supposed to have it ready by the end of the day. Turns out I had to have someone come give me a ride home because not only was my car not ready by the end of the day, but it took them several days before my car was fixed. Every day they would tell me it would be ready and it wasn't. And then after I had committed to paying one thing and they had already started "fixing" my car, turns out they found another big defect (which they should've caught at the beginning) which I had no choice but to pay for since my car had already been started on. Then when I pick my car up they tell me they can't fix one issue in my car, they recommend I search for a welder and they tell me the name of the car piece that needs to be fixed. I end up going to a family friend mechanic that informs me that a) the name of the piece of the car that needs fixing is not what Firestone had told me (it was called something else), and b) a welder would not be able to help me because the specific metal that piece is made of cannot be welded. Go figure. Again, never going back, and never recommending anyone to go to Firestone. read more

What a joke. This place does nothing but recommend unnecessary repairs. Not to mention that we have had 2 issues with 2 different cars after leaving their facility. Not that I think they break things hoping to get us to come back to have it repaired but that is sure what it seems like. The Firestone branch on Hillcrest Dr cannot be worse. Three times I made an appointment for an oil change, and when I went in, it was always about 45 mins-1 hour wait. Finally I called, spoke with the manager (Adam Chavatz), was asked to bring the car right in and was assured there would be no wait. As soon as I took it in, I was told it would take 45 mins to 1-hour. After 35 mins the car was not even moved I left the place in utter disgust with no oil change. I suggest go find another place for oil change or any other kind of service. The place really sucks read more

SCAM. Firestone is a scam. I brought my car in for a simple oil change, and when I picked up my car, it was leaking oil! They said it was the oil plug, and they accused my former auto dealer mechanics of putting it on incorrectly, but I made them show me the original and there was nothing wrong with it. They said it would cost over $545 to fix the leak. Plus, they said my brake fluid and battery needed to be replaced, which was not true at all--both were fine. Anyhow, I had to have the oil pan replaced because Firestone screwed it up, but it cost less to have my excellent, professional mechanics fix it ($215) than the scammers at Firestone. Had I followed their suggestions, my total visit would have cost close to $750--and I just came in for a simple $20 oil change! read more

Called in to get two cars serviced. Woman who answered the phone could not form a complete sentence. Seemed like all she wanted to do was get off the phone. Asked only a few questions and she could not provide a complete response. When I was finally able to get a coherent answer out of her she seemed more confused than I was. Wanted tires called Costco, Discount, America's tire and got prices. Tire manager at this Firestone said come in we will price match, the other just gave me prices but this guy wanted me to come in so he could intentionally work me into spending more money. Bullshit, he wouldn't match the other guys, then the tire manager called the store manager he wouldn't match the other guys everyday price either. I had only ever done business with this place once before for an oil change and they were trying to sell me a set of shocks for $1,000 I came home and called O'Rileys and the shocks for my car were only $45 each so HOW MUCH MONEY DOES FIRESTONE WANT TO MAKE OFF EACH CUSTOMER???? read more
