Firestone (Vacaville): Took my car in on April 14, 2020 Was approached by Jose one of the office representatives. Jose lacks customer service and personality for his job role. I tried to explain the issue of my car he thought it was a transmission problem wanted to put it on the computer for testing at $173, even though the engine light was not on. Thank God he thought it was a transmission problem so I took it across the street to Jim Dandy's transmission. It turned out just to be a bolt from the calipers that was installed the previous year at Firestone. Also, my transmission fluid was almost depleted which should've been checked from the previous oil changed I received from Firestone in February 2020. I am truly disappointed with this company it was not like this in previous years past, I'm unsure why their customer service and work product has spiraled, but I know this customer will not be returning. I even called the store manager to explain the situation and he did not even take my name and did not look up my account to see what technicians worked on each service to correct the issue! So I'm sorry Firestone you have failed on all fronts and lost my business! read more

Let's start from the start. Called ahead of time to get a wheel alignment done on my girlfriends car. I asked on the phone if they can do a wheel alignment since some shops to down on European cars or it's too complicated to them. They said it was good bring it in. We can at 11am and dropped off the car. Told them what it is guy went outside to get mileage etc. we call at 3pm asking them for an update they said it's almost finished. At 430pm we get a phone call saying they can't do the service because they don't have the right equipment to do the wheel alignment. They said that we didn't realize it had air ride. But I left the car in valet mode which records how the car is driven and limits power etc they never even opened the door or moved the car since it was dropped off at 11am in the morning. So to wrap it up horrible, techs, even worse management, and untrusting people. Be very careful if you take a car here especially if you know little about cars they are the type to rip you off. read more

My review, like all of my others, are honest reviews and the service we get here is honestly the best we've had. There's nothing like driving away in a car knowing the person who worked on it made sure your driving away safely. The price is always reasonable and great. We don't feel like we get overcharged like many other places do. I can walk in as a woman who knows nothing about cars and information still gets relayed correctly back to my guy, either from it being explained in a way I can understand or German or Brian getting on the phone to speak with him. The whole process is easy from finding out what service I need to paying for it. They recommend what needs to be done soon or now, and what can wait. What shop does that without you having to ask or say I can't afford that right now? They are not all about charging high prices and getting every last dime they can get during that visit, instead they service you the best way they can and treat you like a human and not an atm. The price is great but the service is outstanding. We have moved out of vacaville but still drive there to get honest service for all of our cars. We have been going here for years and continue to do so. There's not many places that will take care of you and have you walk away with a smile and feeling like you got your money's worth and can drive away safe and not feeling like an idiot because you got ripped off. Go for yourself if you don't believe me and try them out, you will experience the great service for yourself. German in particular is an awesome relatable guy and makes every customer satisfied. Hes understanding and attentive to your car and needs. Brian has an upbeat attitude and is always smiling, so everything isn't all tense. GRIFTERS!!!!! I went in for a diagnostic and the charged me $109 for absolutely nothing! They didnt even look at my car...2 other shops both asked "what did firestone charge you for?". Places like this are the reason why so many of us a skeptical when it comes to mechanics. See in the notes they said my battery was bad....brand new, less than a week old. They said fluids we 're empty....nope they werent (knew that because I had checked just 2 days prior and it hasnt been hot and absolutley no cooling issues). How do you put that in the notes?! They basically raised the flag then and then it was confirmed when I had "real mechanics" look at it. Seriously mad about it...too mad to go back to the shop and demand my money back mad....and thats sad really. I am a Vacaville native and I now know why after 3+ decades why I have NEVER heard them recommended. If you have had work done from firestone I would have it reevaluted immediately. read more

My experience was less than satisfying. I took my car in as I had a nail in the tire. I left the car as I had to go to work. Later in the morning was told I needed 4 new tires as whoever was servicing my car was not rotating the tires properly. Tires were down to 30% tread. I said I would take the car back to where I last had it serviced and check with them. When I picked up the car, they had the wrong tire off, had not even looked at the tire with the mail in it. Needless to say I was extremely disappointed. Fortunately there was no charge? The rest Of the story...nail only between tread (small screw) did not even penetrate tire and no leak. 2 days ago, had an oil change on vehicle with 15,500 miles on odometer. When I went to pick it up, David said I should have the tires rotated, couldn't argue with that, but was also told I needed a front end alignment. I was very doubtful about that. Today, at America's Tire, I got the tires rotated, and asked the mechanic how the front end alignment was and he said fine, no problem at all. So, I will never return to Firestone!! read more

This place made me feel so unimportant! Came in to have a tire repaired. I was the only one in line and waited about 10 minutes while the two clerks finished up. After the male clerk finished with his customer he called a customer that's car was finished and indicated I would be called next. In the meantime, the female clerk had already finished up with her customer and they were just standing there talking about "the gym and working out" while I continued to wait. The male clerk finished up with his 2nd customer and called another customer who's car was finished and told me "she will help you" and nodded over his shoulder indicating the female that was still talking. I came into Firestone today after getting an estimate on my brakes from Midas. The estimate from Midas rounded to about $1600 for the job I needed on my car. When I came to Firestone, German at the front desk took care of me and assured me that the prices I was quoted at Midas could be significantly decreased there. After taking a look at my car, he told me that the majority of the work that Midas said I needed was not even necessary. At the end of the day, I ended up paying only $430 for my brakes and got my car back in less than 2 hours. I would definitely recommend coming in and speaking to German at the front desk- very personable straightforward and helpful as can be. I have a lifetime alignment with Firestone, so I brought my car in on a weekend to have the suspension aligned, as I had replaced the front strut mounts and the steering wheels were not straight. They told me they couldn't bring it to specification because the suspension didn't allow them to and if I wanted them to bring it to specification I would have to install an adjustable kit. This place had told me the same thing about a couple of years ago. The counter person was not very friendly, my perception is that since they were not going to make any money on this transaction, they were not really interested in providing FULL service. Also, Fairfield Firestone told me the same thing after taking about five hours to check the alignment, then tried to push Firestone tires after I had told them I was only interested in Michelin tires. The following week I brought it to a mechanic shop that has the alignment rack, he test drove the car, aligned it without any difficulty, the steering wheel is straight, and the car drive straight down the road without pulling to the left. Keep it mind, the pulling to the left has been going on for a couple of years now, and two visits to Vacaville and Fairfield Firestone could not or would not fix this problem, prior to this last visit. These people are either very incompetent, or they are not spending the time to actually do the alignment, as these incidents happened at two separate shops, I tend to believe that it is their standard operating procedure. Please beware of Firestone, especially the stores in Vacaville and Fairfield. read more

A month ago I broke down in Visalia, CA and took my car to a Firestone to get it fixed. There I was told my water pump went out and my hoses were good. At that location the customer service was great and felt like I wasn't getting screwed. Today I brought my car into the Firestone in Vacaville, CA because I noticed a slight coolant leak and knew my water pump was still on warranty. The people working the counter were rude and seemed pissed my pump was under warranty. Later I get a call that all my water pump and hoses are bad and needed to be replaced. They said the pump is under warranty but the hoses will cost $180. Told the person I wanted to talk to my dad who is a mechanic before I decided if I'd have them replace the hoses. Knowing a month ago my hoses were fine I had a hard time believing they were bad. The guy on the phone then gets irritated and claims he's giving me a good price. After talking to my dad he tells me the hoses would only cost $30 and they're drastically overcharging me. I'm writing this review because the customer service is bad and they tried overcharging me for parts not needed. read more
