A family member got a flat tire on a Friday night and I was asked to see if I could find them a replacement new tire Saturday morning. The car only had 11,000 miles so just needed the one tire and no one near my house seemed to have it in stock. It being an Firestone tire, I decided to call Firestone in Wheaton to see if they had it. Tundee answered the phone and said while he didn't have it in stock, he could order it and get it delivered the same day. He got my name and phone number and just like he said, he called me mid afternoon and said the tire was there. Asked me to arrive before 4:00 so they would have enough time to change the tire. Got there a little before 4 and the shop was very busy. Tundee told me it would probably be about 2 hours to get the job done and seeing how busy the shop was this didn't surprise me. Luckily it was a nice day and I wanted to get something to eat and walk around a bit because it had been quite a few years since I walked around the Wheaton area. After about an hour and a half of eating/walking I decided to go back and as I approached the parking lot, I could see that the car with the new tire was sitting there ready. I went in to talk to Tundee and they were just finishing up the paperwork. Had a nice brief conversation with another service writer about El Pollo Rico (where I ate) moving locations and they got me the paperwork, I paid and was on my way. Def great professionalism the whole way and they got me fixed up on a Saturday when other places I tried wern't even open. So thanks to the crew here at Friestone, hopefully my family member won't get anymore flat tires, but, if we have anymore tire needs, we are def coming to see you. Thanks. read more

Sundays seem to be busy and slow, but otherwise service seems pretty timely. I've had oil changes done here multiple times and have never had a problem. I recommend scheduling your oil changes online so that you have an appointment. Otherwise, you can expect to wait a while if they are busy. read more

I really like coming here. I got a lifetime alignment for my car (for $175 I believe). Usually I can come here and they ll fix anything else thats wrong as well. They are usually fairly cheap as well. The guys usually dont have the most patience over the phone (guessing because they are always so busy). I was a bit skeptical at first based on the reviews here, but I needed a place close to home, so I figured I'd give them a shot. I had a flat from earlier this week, and needed to get it fixed this weekend, so I called them ahead on Friday, to which they told me they were booked up, but that I could certainly come by as a walk-in. I showed up Sat morning, and talked to Joe, who was very helpful, took my information, and told me frankly what the wait would be, and what the chances of my tire being fixed were. After leaving my car w/ them for the required amount of time, I stopped back into be told that they were actually running ahead of schedule, and had my car ready in a few short minutes. They had fixed the flat, and in addition had performed a quick check on a couple other things of the car, and had re-mounted the spare tire, of which I was appreciative because that's not the easiest thing to do. Overall, I was pleased with their service, they were able to get me taken care of in what I felt was an appropriate amount of time given the circumstances and were completely open and accurate about the wait time I could expect. Additionally, their prices were a bit cheaper than other places I've been, so I feel I got a good value for my money too. My only complaint, and I'm not sure if this is anything they can do about it, but their parking and entrance off of Georgia is a bit of a hassle to get to. They do have a lower lot out back, but that requires a bit of a walk. Overall nothing major, but still something to be aware of. read more

I just had THE WORST example of customer service ever. I needed a diagnostic done. I suggested I arrange my schedule to come on a Monday. They suggested Saturday would be better. I arranged my work schedule as such. Their diagnostician was a no show on Saturday. However, rather than tell me, I was asked to wait because he would be there in "10-15minutes." Then I proceeded to wait... And wait... And wait. 2 and a half hours after them having my car, they finally said he wasn't coming and they couldn't make a diagnostic. So they just did nothing. No communication about this - so the whole time (as I asked about the progress twice during this), I was told they'd know something soon so that my car could be fixed. They then suggested I make another appointment but could offer no compensation or true apology for wasting all of this time. read more

Appalling customer service - they have lost my business completely. I had an appointment for 9am, showed up at 8:45 for an oil change and tire rotation. Was told it would be a two hour wait, even though I was the first one there. Fine. My vehicle was not even pulled into the service bay until 11:30 - which is almost three hours after I arrived. Service was not complete until 12:30, which is 3.5 hours after I showed up, first one in line, WITH an appointment for 9am. In the meantime, other customers who arrived as walk-ups, were seen immediately and left in 45min. Representative was belligerent, and did not take ownership of work. He was rude and disrespectful, and offered not even an apology for the clear mishandling of my appointment. Business should not offer appointments when they are not honored, and customer is ignored in favor of walk-ups. Business should also not advise a two-hour wait and then take 3.5hrs WHILE I am waiting in the waiting room, and others are seen before mine. Will not be returning, advise you to avoid this establishment. read more

The worst place I've set my foot in! I took my car there to get the lifetime alignment and since I was putting new tires on my car i figured all can be done there, I WAS SO WRONG! it took almost all day for the car be ready! They told me they didn't work on performance tires, and that's why it took so long, my thinking was then Why did you take my car in?? Next day I walk out of the house and my "brand new tire" is flat! I take it back and they take a another almost a day to get it ready.... And now my car after a month of driving needs realignment again!!! Refused to honor warranty and manager said I jump from store to store when I only get work done at two sister stores for over last 3 years. Very very bad service. Not first time I was denied. This Firestone is near my office, I've been here twice in the last two months and both times didn't have have an appointment. They warned me that it would be a 2-3 hour wait each time (new front tires first visit, nail in back tire second visit) but they ended up getting me out of there in about one hour each time. Staff is courteous and helpful and I think I get free rotations or something since I bought tires from them. read more

Really happy with the oil change service I got here. I had a coupon and bought a higher quality oil with no problems paying the difference and still applying the coupon. I did not have an appointment and just showed up in the mid afternoon. They were really busy but I was told he could try to fit me in about two hours from when I got there. I had anticipated waiting, so I just sat down and started reading. An hour and a half later, they were started on my car. Within two hours, they had finished up and I was checking out. They did a good job and everything was in place afterward. They did not try to up sell me on things I didn't need, which is always a huge plus to me. Thanks guys! read more

I only come here for oil changes. Giant will give you coupons to get your oil changed at Firestone for $20. I have not found a lower price anywhere else. I always make a plan to leave the shop for some hours because I know it will take hours for them to get to my car. It is not convenient but its cheap. The staff is friendly to me when I am there. I have never had issues with them. I guess my advice is if you are coming here, make sure to have a plan that will keep you busy. Grab some food, bring a laptop and some headphones, go to the mall or have someone pick you up. If you want fast service, I would not suggest you come here. read more

I pulled into this firestone today to get an oil change and tire replacement. The tire was in as I'd ordered it the day before. The place didn't have a single spot so I pulled part way into an inspection bay that was not being used. One of the service associates, Brian, came out to tell me I couldn't park there. I said, no problem. I'm sorry. I have my infant son in the back. We circled the lot and couldn't find a single spot. Can you please show me where we can park? Brian said, No. Can't help you. You just can't park here. I found a spot in the back at a space marked as a tow away zone. I hurried inside. Brian was intent on ignoring me even though he wasn't working with another customer. So I waited for someone else. The person who helped me was very friendly and told me it'd be about 90 minutes because they had to get the oil filter in. No problem. I waited. I checked in after 75 minutes and was told they'd get to me as soon as they could. 90 minutes later, my car is still in the spot I parked it in...Oh, that tow away spot. You can park there. All Brian had to do was tell me that...Not sure what the priority is here but it's definitely not the customer. Update: been here nearly two and a half hours. My car is on a lift...almost done. read more

They are a rip-off! I took my car there for a state inspection. I told them to check the brakes and alignment. They failed my car inspection, telling me I needed brakes and steering fixed and their charge would be $1449. I asked residents in my building lobby if they knew of an honest auto repair shop, and two people immediately said Fletchers in Olney. I had my car inspected there and it passed! I have not had any trouble with brakes or steering that Firestone said were necessary, and it's been nearly a year running well. read more

I have been a customer of this Firestone station for 10 years with 3 different vehicles. I'm generally happy with the services they provide and the quality of repairs and/or maintenance. I've had to use them for most services at this point (tires, oil change, AC repair, lights, brake replacement, etc) and feel satisfied with what they have done and the quality of the work. I feel like I'm valued as a customer and that they aren't out to rip me off. For example, I asked them to look into why my windshield wiper fluid was not coming out; they believed the issue was a leaky fluid container so they custom ordered me a new one from the dealer- but upon further inspection, they found it was simply a hose so they were able to cut down my bill from $340 to $55- when it would have been very easy for them to fix my car for $340 as I thought they would. I thought this showed a lot of integrity and honesty. read more

I made an internet reservation for 8:00 a.m. today (Sunday) and indicated that i would wait while 4 new tires were put on my car. Joe opened the doors at 8:00 a.m. and said that he did not have any technicians yet. He said they would be in between 8:00 and 9:00 as is the usual practice. I told him and showed him my internet reservation. Then he tried to say that they usually call to confirm the appt. I told him they did not do so in my case. They always seem to do a good job with the repairs and tire maintenance. I prefer them over other local shops for most things. For VERY complex things I go to the dealer, or a specialty shop (e.g., for replacing a transmission), but for all other repairs I go this Firestone. read more

I called about getting a new tire, because I had gotten a flat the day before. They did not have my tire in stock, but ordered it and had it in the shop by the end of the day. I dealt with Sam and he was great about giving me updates and calling to let me know when I could come by. It turns out that my rim was bent and they really recommended replacing it. They called around and found that part for me as well. I was only there for about an hour and a half and they had changed the tire, put my spare back, and ordered more parts for me. They said the new rim would come in either the next day or the day after. I received a call from Sam the next morning saying that the new rim had arrived and I could stop by anytime and they would take care of it. The quotes were all spot on. I didn't have to wait long either day I was there. Sam was very helpful and professional. I will definitely be going back for any other car troubles. I think it's also important to note that they are a "complete auto care" center. Their facility is not equipped to crank out oil changes like Jiffy Lube. I know I was in and out before others were able to get their oil changes completed, but I think that's more the nature of their facility, and not bad management. read more

I called and talk to the store manger, I assume, two or three days prior to bringing my truck in for four new tires. They ordered the tires and when I came in on Saturday for the install I was asked if I was waiting or dropping off, I said dropping off. He asked me when I needed it completed and I responded with before 2:00pm. This was at 7:30 in the morning. I recieve a call at 1:30 asking for the wheel locks, which meant to me that they just started working on the truck. I got to the store around 2:15 to find my truck on the rack with no one working on it. It's 4:15 and I'm still here. I can't take it out on the evening crew, they were apologetic and was even told that it was waiting for me. This is the only reason they got 1 star. I'm looking at close to if not more than 12 hours to have tires placed on my truck. Only come here if every other store is out of business! read more

I had to have my Jeep towed to the Wheaton MD location On July 28th while on a long-distance trip for a sensor to be replaced. I wasn't displeased that it could not be diagnosed until the next day, however the diagnostician / store manager, Bill, was initially aggressive and eventually bullying. Instead of explaining in a logical fashion what the diagnostic procedure would be, he assumed that I could intuit what he wasn't saying. He did not say that it was a foregone conclusion that the first part to be replaced was the sensor and that that was already a known fact. He was wrong in telling me he had. I was listening. When I expressly told another associate there at the time that I didn't like the tone and treatment and would instead prefer speaking onlhy w/ him, the manager continued to butt in aggressively which only provoked me and aggravated the situation. l realize that I'm a woman and that I look as if I'd just come off a farm - I have. The car is a farm car too. However, I spent 20+ years prior in professional capacities in DC and know his game. I suspect needs anger management counseling. The leadership is apparent -- I likewise noticed a similar tone from the counterperson when dealing with the customers asking questions ahead of me while I waited in line. The friend that I was visiting was worried that my repairs would be botched or delayed because I refused to undergo the treatment submissively. After all, they had my car..... I haven't had to raise my voice to anyone in years. It was the last recourse to take care of a bad situation just before handing over several hundred dollars in cash. When I spend my money, I expect a different experience. Firestone wil forever be on my list. WORSE than a one-star rating! read more

Took it to Firestone - three hours later the diagnosis was that there wasn't a problem - the tire was "fine." Worst service I've ever experienced at a Firestone. An estimated 90 minute job took almost 4 hours. I watched as my car sit for 40 minutes being charged because they said my battery was going bad. Meanwhile as I wait I see customers come in for different problems and are sold batteries. Ok whatever! Finally I see my vehicle removed from the main garage to around side garage, only to be left with my windows down and running. I go here all the time. Maybe 8 times with my cars and minivan. Always great service. Quick. Friendly. Clean. Great prices. They always offer me a coupon if I forgot it. Near metro so I can drop it off in morning and it is done at 4 or earlier. Best prices on tires and I compared everywhere. Never had a bad experience. I made an appointment online and it wasn't accepted but I didn't know that and showed up at what I thought was to be my scheduled time. My first intro to Firestone was there Waldorf store absolutely amazing staff. My only complaint is that they need one of these in Germantown or Gaithersburg. This shop is always busy so expect at least 3-5hrs even for something routine even during the week, even if you come in early just know you are going to wait. There customer service is hit or miss. The trade off is they a cheaper by 50-60% to their competitors. So unless you make 50 dollars an hour time is not a problem. Never had a mishap, honest team will only do the work that is needed. Make it a point to go to this shop when I really want to save and "have the time". Also they a have store credit card with 0% interest for six months on large purchases. Had my tires replaced her twice and just put it on the card and paid it off with in the 6 months. No Hidden fees. My family all use Firestone when I told them about the savings.. read more

We have been to this location several times and the service was fair. The last time, however, I noticed that my driver's side mirror was replaced with a much lower quality mirror (the mirror was not supposed to be replaced, it was the undamaged original). Management was rude about the incident and refused to believe this could have happened, despite agreeing that the mirror now in place is clearly not the original and is of very poor quality. The manager said someone would contact me to initiate an investigation, but this never occurred. We have spent thousands at Firestone in the past few years, so I was surprised by the absolute lack of customer service. We will never go back. read more

OK service. Not extremely fast, but not too slow either. Pricing is average to expensive. What really pissed me off though was that the final price that I had to pay at the counter was a hundred bucks higher than what we discussed over the phone. Not that they changed something drastically, it was just some small things that they "forgot" to mention which added up in the end. I got used to dealing with *fair* pricing when the guy tells me exactly how much I'd be expected to pay for the service, everything included (taxes, charges, fees, whatever else).
