They fit me in an hr before closing. My sister got what she thought was a leak in the tire, went to get air and a checkout elsewhere only for the indicator to come on again. Then i reset it cause it already had air in it and it came on again. I have places to be early tomorrow so needed it checked out today. The guy at the counter tonight was great, while he didnt see an issue he gave me ideas for next steps if needed, filled the air and reset the indicator. This is a great Jiffy Lube! Maybe my timing was just right or they are really efficient but I drove up and was quickly attended to. One of the service technicians walked me to the waiting area and even opened the door for me. What a nice touch. The waiting space is large with plenty of seating and a courtesy water and coffee concession. They promptly provided me with an estimate and didn't try to oversell me on unnecessary services. Let's me know they are looking out for my bottom line. I was in and out in about 45mins, so for the price and time it was well worth it! My issue with this place isn't the service. The service is largely fine, a bit pricy but generally speaking you pay for convenience. My issue is that they consistently lie to you in terms of how long things take. I called first, they said I should be in and out within an hour. They didn't even call me up to discuss the service until 90 minutes later. When they recommended a service, I asked how long it would take, they say 90 minutes max. Two hours later, I ask, and they say it's going to be another hour -- they said they didn't have some part, but it's there now. Fine, but why didn't you tell me until I asked?? My "in and out in an under an hour" thing they promised ended up wasting an entire day. And they have nothing to say for it. I came in on a whim with no appointment. I desperately needed an oil change be FfT ore my 580 mile trip for winter break. Reviews are mixed, but I have to say I was impressed with the service I received. From the greeter (sweet young man) to the cashier (Monica) the process was quick and easy. I had just a short wait before Monica called me over and showed me on her computer screen everything that was done to my car. I did pay an add on for an air filter, but it was needed. $69.99 for a synthetic blend is reasonable. What I did not expect was the vacuuming of my floors and the washing of my exterior windows. Plus all the routine checks on my car parts. Now that I know I can get great service and have a minimal wait time. I will be back in 5,000 miles time. They stripped the splash shield, My wife stopped in the freeway when it fell off on the way home from her oil change. They refused to fix or replace it. We also had a coolant leak a few days later. It was like waiting an hour for a dozen five year old's to change the oil. Not worth your time and energy and you will pay thousands at a real place to correct. read more

Everything went great up until it was time for me to pay. I came in to get an alignment and balance. The mechanic did the alignment, he said it was fine, didn't need one. But I did need a balance, which was less than $30. Whenever I take my car in I always speak to the mechanic, and I'm so glad I did this time. Because while waiting, the mechanic, comes out, tells the cashier Deonte " only the balance". Now....I know HE heard him because I heard him about 8 feet away. I go to pay and the total comes to $100+. I said I only got the balance, he said "oh, I guess you didn't need the alignment" Three stars for the mechanic and his honesty. read more

I've been going there for the free car wash, I had my brake warning light came on and asked them to please check the pads the pressure and fluid, they never checked the fluid, even after twice getting an oil change which should include the brake fluid, And my radiator fluid was low, I bought the fluid myself and put it in. I arrived at 8 for an oil change, and several of the people who work there were there waiting, but the "manager" was a no-show, so no one could open things up. I couldn't come back another day/later, so I waited -- she rolled in at 8:40 and didn't apologize or otherwise acknowledge being responsible for making people wait so long. Took my 2017 Kia Soul here for a routine oil change on 12/12/2023 around 3:40 pm. I got the car back around 4:35 pm and I thought everything was okay. About 5 miles away from the shop around the Four Corners area, I heard a loud engine noise and at first I thought it was someone else's car until I opened my window. I was in the middle of rush-hour traffic (in the middle lane on University Blvd East) and the engine started knocking violently, then it shutdown on me. I restarted the engine and put my hazards on because I did not feel safe just sitting in the middle of rush-hour traffic. Luckily, I was able to pull over into the gas station parking lot on the other side of University Blvd and checked the oil dipstick....which was completely dry. At that point, I knew that the engine was already ruined but at least I was in a safe location, where the vehicle could be towed. I requested roadside assistance from my insurance (which never came 4 hours later...thank you ProtoCall Towing and Recovery). I was able to have a secondary towing service dispatched...which actually showed up promptly around 11:25 pm (I wanted to get the car back to Jiffy Lube during business hours the sameday but it was impossible). The next afternoon around 12:30 pm, I returned to Jiffy Lube to inform the manager Larenz about what had happened after the oil change the previous day and he said that they would push the car onto a car-lift to see what was wrong with the car. I was watching over them like a hawk just incase they tried to manipulate any evidence of negligence by technicians. He did allow me to record video of the under carriage of my car which was missing a drain plug and was soaked in oil. Afterwards, I called the service manager at Kia to see if it was okay for the Jiffy Lube technicians to put a new drain plug on the car and refill the engine with oil. Those two actions were taken and they allowed the car to sit for about 45 minutes before they tried to start the engine. The engine would not start at all (which after a running with no oil scenario, usually indicates irrepairable damage). I had a tow truck already en route to tow my vehicle to Kia of Rockville so that they could run a diagnostic check on the engine to figure out what the extent of the damage caused by the drain plug, spilling all the oil out. The General Manager of Jiffy Lube - Mark, is adamant that this issue was caused by a KIA recall (because he listened to a podcast) rather than any potentially negligent actions by his technicians who performed the oil change on my car (I have never had a drain plug fall out of my oil pan after an oil change and I've brought my car to Jiffy Lube Kensington numerous times). However, this gentleman is not an ASE certified mechanic nor does he have any formal education in mechanical engineering/aptitude (anybody can become a general manager). I will never get an oil change at any Jiffy Lube service again and I don't believe that anyone should. These ignorant bozos can destroy your car and then attempt to point the finger at you or your vehicle manufacterur. Don't even think about bringing your car here for anything!!!!! You have been warned! I'm at a $7400 loss for an engine replacement plus $165 diagnostic fee from Kia of Rockville. i'm read more

Going to car maintenance shops always makes me uneasy, but this Jiffy Lube is the first time I left wanting to come back. These guys are trustworthy. I came here to get my oil changed and it was my first time there. I pulled to the front and immediately an employee came to my car. I told him how I was here for an oil change and before I even got out of my car he gave me quote of how much it would be and communicated very well what to expect from the visit. I asked how long the wait would be and he said they were very busy so about 30-45 min(still really good for how busy they were and showing up with no appointment). He escorted me to the waiting room where sure enough there were lots of other guests, every seat was full. They were working very efficiently here because the waiting room emptied out quick and they finished my oil change in the time they said! They did a great job explaining to me the timeline of when I should get certain services done with my car without being pushy. Also really clean waiting area. Well I thought you said I can get here until 7 "well.... It all depends." Pretty sure when I called in. You didn't say it all depends. I would like to get a response from manager if the policy is to take everybody that shows up before seven or if perhaps, an employee just sent me away because they didn't feel like staying late and extra 15 minutes to take care of somebody anytime past 7. I'm the last person sitting there. I told you my vehicle was over because I haven't been able to make it there in time. Seriously can't work in your 10 minutes to take care of one more car they got there before you're closing time.? every single service there was this major service? I also brought up the fact that the previous time the employees had put in mixed not complete synthetic as I have down and requested they did this without even asking me. I got crickets I don't know about anybody else, but I really don't appreciate being put into my synthetic car that I paid a lot of money for , I didn't prove this was there no remedy to the situation you're not gonna offer me any anything to make this right attention attention next time crickets so I wouldn't recommend bringing your car here the type of person that shrugs your shoulders up and says whatever. I mean seriously what kind of policy is it that people just show up and possibly get in nobody else does that especially when you call and you're telling customers that they can get there until seven and they'll take you in what time is the latest I can get there and be guaranteed service.. crickets. 630? So perhaps your closing time should be 630 not seven so we can keep you consistent business the basic business rules if the grocery store closes at 11 and I get there 1045 they can't say we've got 25 customers you can't come in. It doesn't work like that, unfortunately, despite your desire not to work, you're gonna have to work late and deal with all the customers they got there before closing time we're not talking about something that showed up a minute before 15 minutes. 20 minutes is pretty acceptable range to get through business before they close, especially a speed business. Went in for an oil change. They put the wrong weight oil in, and claimed they don't even carry 0W-20 oil there. The service representative was quite dismissive of my concerns, despite the fact that using a different oil will void your warranty. Also of less importance, they claimed to have vacuumed my car when clearly they did not. read more

I randomly found myself at this Jiffy Lube last October because I was attending a conference close by. I live in DC so there was no other reason for me to be at this particular location but my conference let out early so I decided to get that oil change that I was late getting. I've been driving to this location from the Navy Yard ever since! It's that good. The manager (or owner?) gave his guests (I saw guests because he treats his customers like they are guests in his home) a tour of the facility, gave us water or coffee, and offered us magazines from his neatly organized coffee table. The bathroom is spotless! The first time I was here a younger employee was given the task of straightening up the lobby before he could go home and he didn't take it like it was a punishment. He wiped down the counter and straightened up the magazines like it was a point of pride for him. But let's face it, that's just the lobby. How did my car turn out and did it break the bank? I don't remember how much it cost but I do know it was a lot cheaper than another Jiffy Lube I went to several months before this one. The last time I came they even showed me how to change out my engine oil filter to save me money next time (I knew how to change the cabin filter already--yay me!) I don't normally write reviews (this is only my 2nd one) but I couldn't help but let people know how great this particular Jiffy Lube is. Oh, with every oil change you get a free car wash at the place next door and they also do a good job. I wouldn't drive 37 minutes out of my way if I thought this was any other place to get an oil changed. They're totally worth the trip!! read more

The employees were very nice and provided a free car wash. Was told a tire rotation was not due but am close to 10k miles since the last rotation so I know that isn't true. The real reason was they only had an hour to work on the car of an oil change and am sure based on how busy they were that they ran out of time. I got an oil change on 12/9. While I was driving home, I noticed that my car smelled like death. So I popped the hood and realized that the service worker, Larenz B, left the oil cap off. There was oil all over my car. I put the cap back on and I called the next day and they told me to come back and that they'd clean it up. They cleaned it up with a wash cloth- something I could've done myself. When I asked for a refund, Lawrenz raised his voice with me and said that the cap was never left off and even called me a liar. He never even apologized for the accident that was made leaving the cap off. I wasted an hour at jiffy lube in Kensington today just to be screamed at and called a liar. I believe this happened because I am a young girl who does not know much about cars, so Lawrenz tried to take advantage. I expect an apology and a full refund. I used to go here all the time and super reliable good service. I decided to go to them for my breaks and omg - since the work was done on my breaks I had to return 3 times for different issues including lights that weren't correctly switched off. Also from the moment I drove away from the break appointment there was a strange clicking in my car so I took it back and instead of being honest they tried to tell me there was something wrong with my suspension. I took my car to a close friend who said that nothing was wrong with my car ! Also he said my oil was basically not there and I was 2000 miles from needing an oil change - so obviously they didn't fill my oil that well either - he said he saw no leak?! In-laws noticed an oil spot on their new driveway when I left Thanksgiving. Dec 1, 2018 took in to Jiffy Lube and they said it was not sealed correctly. The oil change was redone. Few days later I notice an oil spot in my garage. So I Thought if you can't get and oil change right then I'll take it to the dealership. $798.00 later, the dealership, with pictures, said they replaced the plug/nut with the wrong size and stripped the oil pan. UPDATE I was not charged the $5 and was given a discount. Really appreciate it!!!! I really like this location and have been bringing my car here since I moved to the area a year and a half ago. In fact, I come to this location rather than a closer one because the reviews were better and I was really happy with the service my first few visits. Today, however, I feel scammed for a couple of issues. First, at my last oil change, around 3,000 miles ago, I had my tires rotated. When they pulled up my account on the screen, it was "green" for tire rotation. This means everything is up to date. However, it was strongly recommended to have my tires rotated. I don't like using bad language, but that is complete BS. You don't have your tires rotated that often. Even the computer was saying they were good. The tech was really adamant but I put my foot down. Second, I was told my oil plug/gasket was tightened too tightly last time my oil was changed. He asked "where did you have it changed?" Here! I had it changed here. It says in the computer. But because a technician made a mistake last visit I now have to pay $5. I told him I don't understand why I have to pay of it was the technician who made the mistake. He went on to explain that these things wear down over time and it's wear and tear and it needs to be replaced. Even though I was told someone tightened it too tightly. That doesn't seem right to me. I went in on a Friday morning to get my car (affectionately known as mousemobile, or mouse) an oil change, and the staff immediately took in my car, gave me their recommedations, checked everything was well and good with the mouse - and had me on my way in 25 minutes! The staff at this jiffy lube was extremely courteous and efficient and I would highly recommend them to any car in need of some loving. Friendly guys, pretty quick service on a Saturday afternoon. However, they didn't do a quick brakes check or even top off my fluids as stated on the receipt. Arrived Saturday at 1128, left at 1143. I came for the signature oil change. I was shocked when I saw a guy vacuuming the car and cleaning the windows. I thought, hmmm is that included? I've always trusted Jiffy Lube for basic oil changes and related services. When I took my 2020 Honda Accord (about 7,000 miles total) in for an oil change, both the "maintenance" light AND the air pressure light were on. I have no problem with the oil change service. However, when I asked why the tire pressure light was still on, the service technician said it would go off once I drove a few miles. But the tire pressure light did not go off. So, 24 hours after completion of my service, with the tire pressure light still on, II brought the car back to Jiffy Lube. The service tech added air to the tire(s) and said everything was OK. Everything wasn't OK--there was a tire leak/puncture. I took the car to the Honda dealer because I thought that, perhaps, there was a malfunction in the tire pressure warning light system--after all, Jiffy Lube had told me twice that all was well. The Honda dealer patched a tire and then all was well. I think Jiffy Lube should have flagged that there was a tire puncture--instead of telling me 2x that all was well with the tires on my Honda Accord. Thumbs down to Jiffy Lube-Kensington. read more

I am writing this review to help other car owners seeking an oil change. Would also like to help ensure this doesn't happen again to someone else. Management has poor judgement and seems to only care about saving money. I went in to get a routine oil change. This was my first time going to this particular location. The staff seemed extremely customer service oriented and helpful. I really appreciated the vacuum service that accompanied the oil change. When I got home from getting my oil change, my car was making a really loud noise and I didn't feel safe driving it. I called my mechanic and did not assume it had anything to do with my oil change but when my mechanic checked under the hood, oil was splattered everywhere. Jiffy lube was supposed to tighten a cap back on with a certain tool to ensure it did not come a loose but did not. This caused me to lose all the oil, and ultimately broke my cam sensor. My entire engine could have went out according to my mechanic but my car shut itself down. I had to buy parts and pay for labor immediately and miss a day of work. When I explained this to management I was not upset, just wanted to be compensated. They paid me for the new cam sensor part, but did not refund me for the actual oil change which was what the cause of everything was. Me missing work, getting my mechanic out to service my car, and having to go back up to the location was inconvenient enough but the manager felt that I still owed them money for their poor work would not refund me after I had to buy oil for my car a day after I got an oil change is beyond me. I happened to be in the area for work and stopped for a quick oil change- they guys checked out my brakes and reiterated what I'd previously been told, that we needed pads and rotors replaced. I don't know much about cars and often feel swindled at auto repair places but these guys were friendly, patient, transparent- even drawing pictures so I understood what was going on.
