Scheduled an appointment for 10AM for one set of rotors replaced. This took over 4 hours. Half way through the wait I asked for an update. They told me they did not have the rotors and were waiting for someone to deliver it. What is the point for setting up an appointment for this service and WHY would you not tell me you did not have the rotor set? You're customer service is horrid, and management doesn't seem to exist. I had a very frustrating and negative experience with getting a Maryland safety inspection at this location. While they were able to see me day-of when my appointment was cancelled at a different inspection station, I do not recommend going there, even for convenience. They failed my car with ~$3000 of repairs required, including an axle and my entire exhaust system. When I asked for photos of all of the damage before approving any repairs, suddenly my axle was "just dirty" and the $500 repair was no longer required. I took my car to Midas when Firestone said it would be $2300 to replace the entire exhaust system. Midas looked at my car and stated there was no leak and nothing at all to fix. In additional to all of these unnecessary "required" repairs, they wrote down the wrong mileage for my car, which would have resulted in charging me again for the inspection because it would have looked like I had driven 2000 miles in 10 days. If you do have to go here, push for proof and read all the fine print before you agree to anything. But avoid if at all possible. read more

Got four new tires from them last year. I still have warenty on them. When I made an appointment to see why my tire was losing air every two days, they told me it would be a 3 hour wait. So I asked them why did I make an appointment then? The sales laughed at my face l. Returned the next day after calling the manager, I went to eat across the street, an hour later I returned and saw my car exactly where I left it. If I can give this Firestone a zero I would. I tried to make an appointment online for a next day appointment and I did not receive a confirmation email so I called the store. When I called I was told to bring my car as soon as possible as it could take 2-3 hrs. for an oil change. I called 4 hrs after to follow up and was told that it could be another 1-2 hr wait. I went here to get a flat repaired. The staff were friendly and got it patched up for me. The problem was during the process of taking the tire off the rim, they had damaged my rim. I tried explaining it to them but ofcourse they denied the machine could ever scratch up my rim. So if you care about your rims I would advise against going here. But if you don't care then hey it's not a bad place to get it done. read more

Make no mistake, this is the worst shop I have ever been to, with the worst service I have ever encountered. And in my experience, the general manager doesn't stand by his employees' workmanship or care less if you leave happy. I will NEVER spend another dollar with these people. When I recently I had some brand new tires mounted and balanced, I immediately noticed a harsh vibration on the freeway. When I took it back, I asked if they'd re-balance them again and comp the price because the tires were vibrating since mile 1. The general manager said, and I quote, "doesn't matter. You could have thrown a weight the moment you hit the driveway...it's going to be $67." Condescending, and felt like he was trying to take advantage of me. Sorry buddy, if your wheel weights are installed so poorly that they'll fly off at the slightest dip in a driveway, I don't want you touching my car ever again. I told him I would instead go to Radial Tire and see what they could do. He simply shrugged, stared at me and said "have a nice day." So I went to Radial Tire in Silver Spring, and they apologized for the poor workmanship of the other shop (their competition!), balanced the tires, and said that if my wheels were still vibrating to bring it right back and they'd re-balance them again. Not only did they stand by their work and fix the problem, they saw it as an opportunity to build a relationship with a new customer. Oh, and unlike Firestone who wouldn't stand by their work, Radial Tire did the work for free! Well, Firestone, you lost another one for good. Don't allow yourself to get screwed by Firestone in Wheaton. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the headache: go to Radial Tire instead. read more

Took care of putting tires on my car, however my tire pressure light just came on which makes me question why put new tires on a car and not set the tire pressure to the recommended psi...... but idk. I needed an alignment on my car and they have a great deal $150 for lifetime alignments, and they'll do then as much as you want. They are going to charge you $70 without tax to do it once. and if there is something wrong with the car then you'll have to have it done again. so your over the $150. So I do my own repairs to my car and then they'll re-align it for free. Ok that was the good now the bad. lol They are very slow, and the parking stinks. If your waiting for them to fix your car they dont really tell you your car is done. you have to keep on them. other then that it's not that bad. I'd shop around for tires they seemed expensive. Coming home on Friday I noticed a strange warning light on the dashboard of my car. Discovered it was a "tire pressure" alert. I checked and the tires looked okay to me, but by the time I got home my husband pointed out the front, passenger tire was very low. I had done a really dumb driving move (oops, sorry about that address sign by your drive way) and apparently punctured the tire. By this time it was after 5:00 and the mechanic at our dealership had left for the day. Husband decided to run the car up to Firestone. The first person he talked to thought they couldn't take any more cars before closing, but a mechanic said he's take a look at it. Thank you, thank you, thank you. It turns out it was a small puncture that could be safely plugged. We had plans to go out of town the next morning and getting it repaired at a totally reasonable cost was a huge relief. read more

Wow ! After nearly 40 years of service to our family, I have to say no more. On Wed past I had my 2003 nissan maxima towed due car slowly died, battery light and brake light came on. Initial anaylsis showed faulty alternator and replace. What was then recommended to me was new battery, tune up and radiator flush totally 800 usd in services before even getting to alternator . I said no and after issues with AAA towing decided to go elsewhere where it was determined a radiator hose was not put back properly causing the fluid to run out and under pan cover for engine was not secured dragging on the road. Well, alternator replaced and car purrs like a kitten, hopefully teaching moment for this store going forward ! read more

I went to this Firestone location to replace two old tires. Based on the mixed reviews, I walked in not sure if the experience would go well. But it did. I made an appointment initially on 11/25, but changed it to 12/5. When I called to confirm the appointment, there was no record that the appointment was made, but the manager said to come in anyway..points for that. I only waited an hour, which was less time than the 2 and a half hours I waited at the Springfield Mall Firestone location. Daniel the service technician addressed all concerns and even talked with me about some of the negative reviews posted. Being a female getting car work done can be a pain..always worrying whether mechanics are trying to get over. Great experience, felt comfortable and I would recommend this location. read more

We needed to have tires changed on our Hyundai Sonata and brought it in. At pick-up we find that the trunk has a huge dent. Impact direction diagonally from above. The mechanic at the dealership denies any responsibility. We can not get to talk to manager who's "on vacation" and when asking to see the security camera in order to clarify the matter, we are told Firestone do not have cameras in their shop. How convenient!!! Bottom line: Make a full video of exterior of car before drop off to Firestone. Because they will not take any responsibility. read more

It was a busy Saturday but would have appreciated being told longer and been on time. To their credit, they put my car to the front of the line and only had to wait 20 more minutes. I had an appointment for 4 new tires. I made it online, they check availability and confirm your appointment. I get there for my appointment and they say they don't have the tires. So why did I get confirmation "I can't answer that". "Also, it will be $100 more than your on line quote " what???? "Well , on line it states free alignment "check", not free alignment and one is $100". Is that deceptive or what? Here is the icing on the cake- I had a coupon for "10% off Firestone All Season Tires". Pretty straightforward right? They said I can't use my coupon because I am buying "Firestone Firehawk All Season Tires". Wtf??? The coupon clearly covers all Firestone-but no, actually it doesn't!!!! Really friendly and knowledgeable staff here. There not going to try to upsell you on anything. Firestone sends out coupons all the time your bound to get something off. Not giving a perfect score bc the wifi here stinks it's either slow or doesn't work. Seats in waiting area constantly make noise as you move. I would recommend if you plan on getting anything serviced on your vehicle get here as early as 7 AM they do get busy and average wait time is 1-2 hours. read more

Let me preface this with I have been going here for years. But lately I have been really disappointed. I had the belts changed on the car and after a week the pulley for the AC broke. Brought it back figuring that, since they replaced that belt, they would take care of it free. Nope. I had to pay for work they already did. Ok, so maybe the pulley was unrelated to the belt change. These things happen. I pick up the car and as soon as I turn it own - check engine light. I haven't even left the lot. No one made mention that it was on, and I was so mad that I had a new problem I just went to another mechanic. Turns out the crank shaft position sensor was damaged. Most likely by them when they fixed the AC belt. That's a $1,000 job. I've now brought it to them twice, and each time I've left with another problem. This can't be a coincidence. I recently take the car in because I was having issues after I changed the spark plugs and valve cover gasket. So I figure I'd give them another chance. Guy tells me he won't touch it because someone else has worked on it. Say what? Because the other mechanic had to fix the mess you made after you damaged my sensor. So I'm pretty sure this isn't an industry standard. I'm done with them. read more

I should have read the prior reviews before going to Firestone in Wheaton. I was told three hours for a simple oil change. Half of the bays were completely empty and there were two people waiting in the waiting area but I thought "oh well" and left. Came back after three hours...my car is parked in the very same place it was when I dropped it off. No one had even touched my car...they flat out forgot about it! It was NOT due to it being very busy. It wasn't that busy...they just forgot. If I had waited for them to call me I would have waited for a full day at least...for a %&**$& oil change!!! I wish I had read the Yelp reviews before coming here. Horrible place that rips off customers. Brought in my Escape to have a state inspection, remove a nail from my tire and plug it, oil change, and told them the battery needed replacement. Other than the battery issue just recently, vehicle runs very well. Quoted $215 for the work so authorized. They claim I need almost $1300 work done before they would pass the inspection. Charged almost $30 to do a diagnostic to tell me I needed a new battery and wanted to charge me over $200 more for the new battery. Their charge for a basic oil change for my vehicle over $97 (which they ended up discounting about 15%). When I came to pick up since I turned down all their ridiculous "recommendations" beyond the original quote, I paid over $200 for an oil change and an unpassed inspection! Even had to jump start my vehicle myself to leave there since nothing was done to the battery and they did not get it startable. No way I could ever recommend this place to anyone. Avoid and check one of the dozens of other auto repair shops in the future. read more

This morning I called them right when they opened and needed to get my battery replaced. I brought my car in and they replaced the battery in less than an hour and it cost less than I was quoted too! All of the service providers were friendly and professional. I had my car back very quickly and I thought that it would be there for most of the day. Lowest cost around too. I took my dad's car in about 12pm for an oil change in August. They told me it would be ready by 5:30pm. That was good since that day we had an appt to go view a house we were interested in buying at 6:15pm. I got to Firestone in time for pick up and it wasn't ready. I was given the option to leave the car and it would be done in the first thing in the morning or drop off the following day but no guarantee it would be done the same day. After speaking to the gentleman he agreed to do the oil change. Thank you! But I missed the appt to view the house since the car wasn't ready until 6. I called on Wednesday and was able to get an oil change appointment for Thursday. The parking lot at Firestone is kind of dicey, but I found a spot without any trouble. I appreciated the fact that they just did the oil change without trying to push any other services on me. The waiting area isn't stellar, but they got the oil change done quickly. It's easy to get coupons for Firestone (I get mine off of a Giant grocery receipt), so you can always get a pretty good deal on your oil change. read more

These guys used to be great. I was a loyal customer and you could trust them. They have gone way downhill over the past couple of years. Took my car in for a rotation and oil change and forgot to give them the key. Got a call back 4 hours later saying that the car was ready. Ridiculous. Just recently in 3 times for an alignment under their lifetime check program and they can't even get that right. Ended up taking my car to the dealer and paid them to fix it and they were able to get me set in less than an hour. The readings showed that the alignment was way way out of line when I brought it in too and the dealer questioned whether Firestone had even looked at it. I would stay clear of Firestone at this point. Too much corner cutting and shade for my taste. read more

I think the complaints about "customer service" or lack thereof - sums it up best. I arrived at 11:15 and was told I'd have a 1-1.5 hour wait. No problem I was there to get two tires put on. Two! At 1pm, my vehicle hadn't even been seen. Finally, after enough badgering - my vehicle entered the service bay. Finally --- 3 hours and 25 minutes later I was on my way. The waiting area is ok. But these guys are seriously understaffed and need some customer relations training. With other options in the area for tire installation, I doubt I'll be back to this shop. read more

I checked out this firestone because i get all of my oil changes done by firestone as a company. This one was able to get me in and out within 90 minutes with no appointment . You just show up. They informed me of something going on with my battery which was helpful . The only reason they got 4 stars instead of 5 is because they forgot to reeder the button in my car that the oil was at 100 % i was able to do it myself so it wasn't a large issue. It's in a good area where there are things to check out while you wait on the services to be done if necessary read more

I had a flat on a Sunday less than a mile from here. I suspected I needed a plug, so I pulled in 30 mins before closing. They weren't going to be able to get to it, but I also knew I needed new front tires, so I decided to leave it and get a ride home. It turns out I needed 4 tires, because I take crap care of my car. When they went to do the job, they found I needed new break pads and rotors, because I take crap care of my car. Less than 24 hours after pulling in I had new tires, break pads, and rotors, plus I get a free tire rotation every 6K miles, where they'll check my break pads, which have a lifetime warranty. I'll just get an oil change at the same time. This is a plan I can stick to! One caveat. If they say your car will be ready at 2, call before you go! They'll call you when it's ready, but they're also happy to give you updates when you call. Their time estimates are very much estimates. Just be prepared. read more
