My wife picks up the van and was driving for two weeks and I looked at the tires and they were the old ones. They charged me to replace and for tires but never installed them. After some back and forth the made it right. Fast forward a few years I decided to trust pep boys again and go to the yucaipa store for my son's vintage car. We had work done on the sending unit on our gas tank. We got the car back and went to gas up and gas is pouring out from under the car. Took it back immediately and dealt with Kenneth the store manager and he was very argumentative about the whole situation. I was concerned because this is the second time pep boys sent me home with an unsafe car. After arguing with us the did repair the leak. The newest experience is when my son's spare is leaking. We took it in and they gave him a hard time about it. He was mad and reminded them of the previous issues we have had and how Kenneth was responsible for letting unsafe work leave his shop. We had to go back the next morning and we talked with Kenneth. After some arguing he took our tire in back to see what's up, he calls us into the service area. Shows us a leak at the bead and says it is our fault the tire is leaking. I stated it was shoddy repair work and the tech did not clean the rim and seal the bead properly. He had an attitude said he could fix it but won't because we got pissed off. Gets in my face makes threats about if I were to touch him he waste me or something like that. Proceeds to cuss at me. Took a picture of it while it was there, they let it sit in the wind for days with the hood up rubbing the roof so it chipped and scraped the paint on the hood. Told them I was unhappy but that didn't matter to them. I talked to the mechanic at the time and he wanted to work on it but was told by the owner multiple times to not work on it as the other jobs were faster and brought in the money. Overall pretty disappointing. This was almost four years ago now and I'm still not over it. The work they did messed other things up as well for instance the electrical but I went to another shop to fix that versus waiting on these guys. Go elsewhere, you won't regret it.

Since I purchased all four tires and the warranty through Discount Tire, I expected the issue to be straightforward. My expectation was simple: inspect the tire, determine whether it qualified under the warranty, and explain the findings honestly. Instead, I received multiple, conflicting explanations over the course of two days. The first phone call informed me that all four of my tires were low on tread and needed to be replaced. I explained that all four tires had been purchased from Discount Tire and that I had also purchased the warranty. I reminded them that I came in because one rear tire was losing air, not because all four tires were worn out. I was then placed on hold. When the representative returned, the explanation completely changed. I was told they had accidentally inspected another Mercedes-Benz of the same color and that my vehicle was actually fine. The problem with that explanation is that I was sitting in the parking lot during that phone call. I could see the vehicles on the lot, and I did not observe another Mercedes-Benz matching mine. Whether there was an internal mix-up or something else, the explanation simply did not make sense based on what I personally observed. When I arrived before closing to pick up my vehicle, the explanation changed again. I was then told the replacement tire needed to be ordered. The following day, I received another phone call. This time I was told the tire would not be covered because I had not had an alignment performed after purchasing the tires. I was then asked if I wanted to purchase both a replacement tire and an alignment. By the end of the process, I had received four different explanations for the same warranty claim: All four tires needed replacement. My vehicle had been confused with another Mercedes-Benz. The replacement tire needed to be ordered. The warranty would not be honored because an alignment had not been performed. At that point, the issue was no longer about the tire it was about trust. I don't mind being told "no" if the decision is supported by the written warranty and explained honestly. What I do mind is receiving a different explanation every time I speak with someone. That makes it very difficult to have confidence in the recommendations being made or to believe that my warranty claim was handled consistently. I have submitted a formal complaint to Discount Tire Corporate requesting a review of this matter and an explanation of the written policy used to deny my claim. As of the date of this review, I have not received a response. I will update this review to reflect how Discount Tire responds and whether the company stands behind its warranty and customer service. I also intend to document and share my experience on social media so other consumers can make informed decisions based on the outcome. I genuinely hope I can update this review with a positive resolution. Right now, however, I cannot recommend this location based on my experience.

George, the new manager, goes way above and beyond to please his customers and I love his positive attitude, which is a very nice change for the better and not at all characteristic of the former management's style, so kudos to him! And the good news is that George is totally focused on management and customer relations and supervision of his technicians, and he doesn't do any of the actual repair work himself, so he doesn't have that grumpy, overworked, and irritated attitude that you will find in so many service stations. He is super friendly and super positive and goes out of his way to help. I was struggling so hard trying to get my car smogged, and George actually took time out of his busy schedule to encourage me and advise me on that, and he even volunteered to scan my car's system periodically to assess my progress in getting my vehicle's monitors to clear. Wow. So unbelievably nice! I actually think that it was his positive attitude and his encouragement that kept me going and kept me from feeling totally defeated. And it was that infectious positive spirit which enabled me to finally succeed in passing the smog test. His guys have also voluntarily filled my tires whenever they have gotten low. I told George over the phone what the problem was and he was able to diagnose it over the phone. This is after my car sat there for 10 months due to me believing it wasn't fixable. George got my car back on the road in 3 days. Ever since that happened we've been coming here. They will fix your car without it being too pricey.
