    Korean Stone Bowl
    Julia R.

I came here on a Friday night, I arrived about 6 PM. It was just me, so I offered to sit at the bar as it was full service. When I got there, there were still some empty open tables, however, as I was leaving, it seems like they're just about all filled up. I got the Mr. milkman cocktail and it was pretty tasty, although I did notice how it appeared, as if there were a lot of wines and other beverages that they were out of. Even with my cocktail, they had to substitute the base with soda water, although it was still tasty. There was probably about 7 to 8 wines/sakes that were crossed out on the menu. Food came out fast, and the service was decent on that chefs end. I got the Korean Stone bowl dish, and It was pretty tasty, although fairly expensive for what it was... rice, veggies, and a little bit of beef, but I do like the concept of having a hot bowl that progressively warms up the rest of the food inside. I really do wish there was more meat inside for the price, I feel like only two or three bites had beef. One thing that I really noticed (and I think I noticed even more because I was sitting at the bar) was how servers and the bartenders spent a lot more time conversing with their friends (who were sitting at the bar) then checking in on some of the other people. Someone did approach me to put in my drink order, but I flagged down the server to put all my other food orders in. I don't think anybody came and asked how my meal was either. I do enjoy the overall ambience of the place, dim mood lighting, a minimalist esthetic, and a bar that really nicely displays some of their high end liquors.

    Peppermint martini

My 4th time here and it's just never been a place that I thought was so good, I need to come back. Came for a christmas party. The holiday drinks were just posted on social media two days prior and they were already unable to make one of the drinks. I've had the peppermint martini a few years ago, so went back to that. It was good, but I remember it being a little better before. Also, the presentation of drinks seems to change based on who is making them. Sometimes it's rimmed with peppermint, mine was on the side of the glass. Same issue as last time. The peppermint was too heavy and sliding down the glass, making the stem sticky when picked up. We shared several different sushi rolls. The rice seemed way over done. It was one mushy texture and the spicy tuna lacked spice. I ordered the salmon for my entree. Salmon was well cooked with a glaze and served with broccoli. First bite of broccoli tasted burnt, but luckily the rest was fine. We ordered all the desserts to sample and the best was the flourless chocolate cake and the cheesecake with the bananas. Our server was super sweet and always made sure we had what we needed.

    Last Dragon Roll

Found this place based on Yelp reviews & decided to drop by while visiting town. Service was good - our waitress was very attentive and even provided suggestions. The location was cute and had dim lighting. We started the night with Ahi Poke Nachos. They were super tasty but not worth the $25 cost since they literally came with only 5-6 pieces of ahi. Wouldn't recommend these. Next, we got the California roll and the Last Dragon Roll. Both had too much rice and hardly any filling. Other reviews mentioned that the sushi here was similar to frozen sushi and after tasting it first hand, I don't disagree. Wouldn't recommend the rolls, it's definitely not their strong suit. Now let's talk about what was really good: the Shaking Beef, drinks, and dessert! The shaking beef was spot on with what you would imagine having at a Korean restaurant. It was drenched in a delicious sauce and onions, and came with a side of rice. This was by far worth every penny! The drinks were also spot on. Lastly, we capped the meal with the "Smore" which was basically a waffle topped with chocolate & marshmallow. It was SO good.

A perfect spot for a night out. I loved this place! The food and drinks were super good. I especially loved the lobster fried rice. The lobster chunks were big and perfectly tender. The seaweed salad in the Rainbow Roll was really juicy and flavorful. The cocktails were great! They were not super strong but very really tasty and refreshing. Even though the sushi tasted good, the rice was pretty mushy. It didn't seem like the best quality and reflective of its pretty high price. If you're looking for sushi-restaurant quality sushi, this might not be the spot for it. First & Main is a hip spot. It's dim with good music. It is accommodating for small and large parties with a large bar. It can either be super empty or completely full depending on the night. Our waiter was really friendly and checked on us often. The food came out quick, even when ordering right before closing. I definitely recommend this place!

I did appreciate having an Asian fusion restaurant in this area. Overall food quality is good. The spicy levels are much less than my normal scale. I didn't fee the spicy tuna roll was actually spicy. The fried piece of rice was very goods.

Large, clean facility with friendly staff. Food is always delicious! Prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. The Bombay chicken Clay Pot is my go to but I tried the Thai shrimp and it was filling and tasted amazing! Great spot for lunch or dinner.

    Tofu portion

This is the side of tofu. Yikes. Didn't realize a side meant 3 bites. Really disappointed. Didn't have this issue before

    Brussels sprouts

The waiter took a long time to bring our menus, drinks, and take our order. We eventually had to let someone know that we were ready to order. We also had to ask for our bill instead of it being brought to us. Service wasn't good. Food was delicious!

Food is great ! The ambiance would be better if the music were a little louder and didn't have to hear all the noise from peoples conversations! The bartenders are amazing!

The food has a lot of flavor was really tasty. The only thing that lacked flavor was the hot Cheeto sushi roll.

    Ramen bowl

My husband and I took our kids today for brunch on the patio. Food was amazing, and service was excellent. I absolutely loved the poki nachos and my kids really enjoyed the beignets. Our waitress was very attentive and all the staff continued to make sure we were taken care of. We will be back soon!

Ask the Community - First & Main

Is this a place that will be appropriate to bring kids? And babies?

It gives off a non kids vibe to me. Definitely not a place for babies. It's more of a friends/couples/co workers vibe to me. Doesn't strike me as a family out to eat place.

    Walk-in acceptable or reservations required?

We were walk-ins for lunch. I am not sure how they run dinner.

I assume you're are not, but I want to confirm if you will be open on Christmas Day this year?

Came to Jams @ 209 as a simple low-key birthday dinner for the SO. Our meal was good, but something…read moreregarding the bill irked me and left a bad taste in my mouth. Located off Geer and Tuolomne, Jams @ 209 is a cute little sports bar that also serves an extensive menu including wings, burgers, pizza, and tacos. Every wall (and even right outside the establishment) is lined with TVs all playing different sports and music videos with a huge focus on 80's music (perfect for the Gen X-ers who seem to frequent here). Upon entering, we seated ourselves at a corner booth and a few minutes later did a nice lady provide us with menus. The SO had ran to the restroom and the nice lady asked me at the table if we wanted to order drinks. She upsold a rum and coke (the SO's favorite) not because she had asked the SO on his way to the restroom like I had thought, but because they have a happy hour special on them and a few other drinks. What a coincidence! The special was $5 for certain drinks between 2-7PM. The nice lady also tried upselling me to get a drink for myself. I feel like after saying no the first time, she shouldn't have pushed with an "are you sure?" two times after. We ended up ordering: Onion rings - great fry and crisp batter. One of the reasons I chose to come here. Mac and Smash burger with side salad - uses Kraft mac-n-cheese type noodles that were a little bland. But with everything put together (pepper jack, fried onion strings, and chipotle sauce), the burger was delicious. SO was impressed with the side salad lol It wasn't a basic garden-type, but more spinach, cucumber, cheese, croutons, etc. PB&J Protein Power burger with sidewinder fries - double patty made this reaaaal meaty. There was a subtle pb&j flavor which was nice, but wish it had more. Sidewinder fries were like the jojo's version of curly fries - thick and potato-y. All portions were big and I thought proportional to the price (esp in this economy). What soured our meal was when we received the bill. There were two line items for +$0.75 for cheddar cheese. I spoke with our nice lady server and she said that it was because we got cheese on our burgers... *question marks??* 1. The item description for both our burgers already include cheese 2. We didn't ask to sub any type of, or add more cheese 3. If we were going to be charged for cheese, we weren't prompted about it beforehand. We didn't get the charges taken off until after these 3 statements were made. I get it, $1.50 isn't much but it's the principle of sneaking in $1-2 for something we didn't ask for. It makes me think they do this often at the expense of patrons under the influence. Just a warning for future customers, double check your bill!!
