I am very happy with the service I have received from First California Appliances! It was above and beyond my expectations. We had an issue where our washing machine started making loud banging noises while the drum was spinning, resulting in our clothes not being washed properly. From the moment I reached out on Yelp, I received timely responses from them, specifically the owner Andy C was really nice and he got me scheduled soon at a time that works for me. In addition to that, he also agreed to match a competing quote that I received on Yelp for the diagnosis, with the understanding that if I go with the repair, that diagnostic fee would be waived. The technician, Sergei, came within the allotted time, and he was nice and friendly. Within a few minutes he had already figured out what's wrong (the suspension rods need to be replaced) and he helped me pick a suitable replacement online right on the spot, then he promised to return the day after the item gets delivered. Sergei came back a couple of days later at the time I requested (6pm to 8pm) even though it was outside of work hours, in order to help us get our washer working again. He came with the ordered parts and promptly repaired the issue. He even stayed around for the full wash cycle to make sure that everything is going well now (no more loud banging noises in the drum) before he left our house. The price he charged us was a fair price for the labor-intensive work and I am very happy with the outcome. I definitely will reach out to them again the next time I am in need of their services. Do not hire for repair. Unethical. We requested a gasket replacement. And when replaced, it now has a door latch issue and the repairman rudely mentions that this is not part of the warranty. We now have to pay for the door latch to be replaced. He then requests we only text on phone and move our conversation away from Yelp. I am appalled by the unprofessionalism and unethical manner. We can no longer use our dishwasher. read more

I put in a request for service and Andy was very prompt at responding. He saw me the next day to fix my dryer. He explained why it broke and was honest about the quality, or lack of, of my dryer. He fixed what he could and was truthful in the fact that it would likely break again within the year. Given the extent of the damage to the drum, he advised that it would not be worth fixing a second time. He suggested other brands that would last longer than the cheap dryer that came with my home. It had to happen eventually. Start a load of laundry, go into the other room to watch TV, and then have a voice in your head say "why does it sound like there's water splashing on the floor?" Yup. my wife had contacted this repairman to replace the seal for our dishwasher, so that the sewage does not back up. after replacing this seal, the door latch does not close and the repairman explains that we signed the invoice that there is no warranty. he refuses to come fix the issue and asks us to not respond on yelp and to keep our correspondence on text message. now, we have to repair the gasket along with the latch. the latch will not close to seal the dishwasher to work properly. the repairman rudely asked my wife what she has been doing all week if she cannot use the dishwasher. we have a newborn and this is unethical practice. please be careful and think twice before using these repairmen. they do not accommodate customer preference for messaging on yelp or sharing concerns with their paid repair. read more

I called the night before and set an appointment for a tech to come out the next morning (9am) to look at my refrigerator. I was told it would cost $85 for a diagnostics. Andrew Chuprikov showed up and immediately ask me to sign something on his phone. so, I did....I thought it was permission for him to perform service. I told him I was a bit of a DYI guy and had taken the grill off the back (6 screws) and clean the coils of dust and lint with a shop vac. I had the frig in my courtyard because I had acquired it from a friend and was planning to use it as a spear frig for the garage. I had unplugged it and had cleaned and taken the shelves out of the frig portion. He takes a pic of the front and back of the frig. Lectures me that, "I was not a professional" and that it was his job to take things apart and not mine! In my defense, I am VERY handy and have fixed many things in my lifetime(cars, boats, computers, dryers, install numerous things and equipment, painted houses, build structures.... etc. You get the picture! He tells me that by taking some things apart (shelves) I had, "compromised the integrity of the appliance and that he could not work on it." He also tells me that the frig should have been plugged in for at least 24 hrs. Which I was never told. He bills me $85 on my credit card for lecturing me and does not touch the frig. Where is the diagnostics I paid for?? If he is the guy you call (which I would not recommend), make sure you don't sign anything or give credit-card until the work is performed. read more
