A new-ish cafe in the South Bay and I love it! Their double matcha was soo good the matcha wasn't too sweet so you could actually taste the matcha. I also loved that it wasn't a tiny cup like a lot of new cafes. The strawberry one was refreshing and not too sweet. I would definitely come back for the drinks. We also tried the croissant cookie which was a good savory but sweet treat. The inside has little seating and limited parking but we were still able to get some on a Saturday morning. The French toast latte is their best seller and for good reason. It is a balanced and perfectly sweet. We also tried the Spanish latte (iced), honey cinnamon latte (hot), spinach croissant and a slice of banana bread. Everything was great. I live down the street and never came because of the long lines! Today I stopped by for a change of scenery to study and so glad that I gave it a chance! I got a Maple Earl Grey Matcha, which was delicious--sweet but not too sweet. $7.50 which is a little steep but on par with other small business coffee shops in the area. Seating: About 5 tables with 2-3 chairs each. Can easily get full but if you can snatch a table it's a great place to study or hang with a few friends. Noise: At 1 PM they had music on at a low volume and the espresso machines running, so I wouldn't say it's "noisey". Bring some headphones and it's unnoticeable! The most noise comes from the traffic outside more than anything. I will be coming back here more often, and it's an overall great choice for matcha! read more

I've been on a little mission lately to try different coffee shops around my city, and I'm so glad I ended up at First Flight Coffee. A coworker recommended it to me, saying it felt like my vibe and she was absolutely right. The place is so cute and has such a chill, welcoming atmosphere. Everyone there was super friendly, and I didn't have to wait long at all for my order, which I always appreciate. I ordered the French Toast Latte, and when I tell you it was SO good... I mean it. The perfect balance of sweet and creamy honestly the exact pick-me-up I needed that day. So, First Flight Coffee is in a small space that used to be Ding Tea which turned into Lotus and is now First Flight Coffee! I'm a Torrance girly so I know who comes and goes lol. The space is small but cute. It's very minimalist and it has just what it needs, no extras. Theres seating inside at the front of the cafe and also in the back. Theres a few small tables outside as well. The menu is very straight to the point. Which I appreciate because some of these coffee spots just have these menus that are so overwhelming and I just end up ordering an iced vanilla latte because I'm so confused lol. I've been waiting for the incoming flight of the newest coffee shop in the South Bay and I am so excited that First Flight Coffee has officially landed this past August 11. Their offerings here are first class all the way. Their drink menu consists of espressos, matchas, ades and teas. Meanwhile their food menu includes bagels, cookies, breads and croissants. This spot really is the perfect spot to make your taste buds soar. For my first visit here, I chose to get their hot Hazelnut Latte ($6.00). (Note: I noticed their menu says the lattes are $5.50 so I was bit surprised to see the extra 50cents. I unfortunately didn't see till after, so I may just have to ask in a future visit if hot drinks are more). I found that the Hazelnut Latte was very delicious. It was smooth, nutty and true hazelnut goodness. Alongside my latte, I got a Strawberry Croissant ($5.25). I also got a Crookie ($5.75) to go for a treat later. The Strawberry Croissant was soaring with flavor. It was perfectly crisp on the outside and so soft and sweet on the inside. The Crookie which I enjoyed later was also sky high in deliciousness as well. I love the hybrid of a flaky croissant and a soft cookie! This was one huge treat too. I learned during my visit that the owners here actually work in aviation and hence the name of the coffee spot. I love this little detail as it shows how creative they are. First flight matcha review! Place was super busy with a constant flow of customers on Sunday morning. I subbed oat milk for $1, which made the drink a total of $8. Very aesthetic green, foam taste was ok, but I think the matcha flavor could be a bit stronger. Overall drink is a bit above average. I didn't adjust sweetness and thought it was perfect. I tried the cold brew as well. It's very acidic and you have to mix the foam, which doesn't mix too well. The vanilla foam is not sweet at all so if you like sweet coffees, this isn't the drink for you. They are pretty fast at making drinks! read more

The good: There's indoor and outdoor seating. I got a cranberry scone and lemon poppyseed muffin. I also got the peach signature drink and a hazelnut iced latte. My husband loved all of the drinks and pastries. The bad: Indoor seating is small so it's not a place you'd study at and linger at for long. I didn't care for the hazelnut latte as much because it had a bitter and burnt flavor to it. I wish the coffee tasted brighter and I wish the hazelnut flavor was sweeter. I was prepared to try one of their coffees, but pivoted to their Peaches N' Cream tea drink, which was recommended by one of the workers. I had my doubts since I don't typically order tea. However, this drink was delightful in every way. It's bubbly/fizzy and refreshing, perfectly sweet, and to my delight-- paired wonderfully with their cream top. The perfect summer beverage. My husband order their Yuzu espresso tonic, which was also a great drink. This one was also bubbly of course, but their yuzu is what made it so refreshing and special. Such a cute little coffee shop! Mercy at the front helped us out and she was super friendly and helpful. She gave us her suggestions to try out and they were great. This place deserves more hype!!! The staff are so nice and gave us good recommendations for both coffee and matcha. The matcha was perfect, good balance between flavor and sweetness. My friend (who doesn't like matcha) thought it was good and wasn't grassy like other places. She got the Chai w/ Cream Top and the cream top was delish. I was scared to try this place out because there aren't a lot of good matcha cafes in South Bay compared to OC/Ktown. But I was influenced by their Tik Toks, it looks like the drinks have improved since their opening. The color and quality of the drinks look way better. First flight Cold Brew: 1 star* the cold brew itself didn't taste good and the foam didn't do much to alleviate the taste. I always pass by First Flight Coffee and was finally able to stop in this morning. They were really well staffed for a Wednesday morning and the gal taking our order was really friendly! The matcha was lightly sweetened and was well balanced. The drink was smooth and not grainy at all! I liked the matcha cream top, but probably could've passed on the extra sprinkle of matcha powder since I got a surprise clump at the end. Aesthetically, I get it... The americano was pretty decent and not watered down. The croissant was flakey, buttery, and not too sweet. There are a few tables in the front, outside, and at the back of the store! Had the speciality First Flight Matcha here and I expected it to be better. While the cream top was relatively good, the drink was a bit too milky for my liking. The cream top was light and had a good matcha flavor. However, the drink wasn't very strong in matcha flavor and I tasted more oat milk. Oat milk is also extra $$. For almost $9, the price wasn't really worth it relative to the quality of the drink. However, the drink wasn't bad. The interior is clean and the staff seem nice. There's also outlets and wifi making it a suitable place to get work done if you can score a table. Theres music playing in the background, so not ideal if you're trying to take calls. There's also a free parking lot outside. Overall, a bit disappointed with my drink. There are better matcha options in SoCal where you pay less. read more

I went on the first day of their soft opening on Monday. The space is very clean, modern, and inviting, with a few tables in the front, in the back as well as a couple seats outside. I got the first flight matcha which was delicious and very well made. They use ceremonial grade matcha and I liked the cloud foam on top. It was well balanced and not too sweet and not too milky. I really enjoyed it! I got my husband the first flight cold brew that comes with vanilla bean cloud foam on top. The cold brew was a little too acidic for my personal taste but tasted good and strong. The cold foam on top was necessary to balance it out. I will definitely come back to try out the other drinks! They also sell a wide variety of pastries (see photo) in their display as well as a few other food items. I got the lox bagel which was freshly made and tasted delicious with smoked salmon, cucumbers, red onion, tomatoes, capers and dill. I had to wait 15 minutes for it but I didn't mind. While I was waiting, I browsed the merch they sell on the side wall like t-shirts, cups, tumblers, matcha, etc. They gave free keychains away for their first 100 customers so I was able to snag one! Good quality too with their business name embroidered on it. Service here was very friendly and warm. I hope this cafe does well! A new coffee shop near the Wilson park! Parking is super small so I am curious on how accessible they would be on a busy morning. My first trip I went in the morning and made the mistake is ordering the sparkling peach ade. Probably better to order on a hot afternoon. It was good but I felt like it didn't hit right because I'd the timing I ordered it and didn't do it justice. I decided to try again a few days later getting coffee in the morning and such a happier decision. I got the cookie croissant as well and it was super delicious but a commitment lol Inside is also filled with cookie so it was a lot but super delicious. I was excited to try this new spot and walking in felt quite awkward. Before I even entered, the front workers were talking & I felt like I was disturbing something. There were about 4 employees working on a weekday. A couple people studying. Drink came out relatively quick. Seems like a good place to study w/ headphones & parking is pretty spacious in the plaza, but not sure this one convinced me to come back. Went with the yuzu espresso tonic. Pretty clean & solid flavor but I imagine it's just espresso, tonic water, & the jammed yuzu commonly sold in Korean markets. I was fine w/ the idea of this until I was thrown off by the gap in the menu price, which was $6.50 & the actual charge: $7.17. Other coffee places charge the price on the menu. Here, no explanation on why that is from the employee or on the menu. If they charge additional fees for card payments or tax they should let people know why or include the real price on their advertised menu bc it felt like a pretty big gap & the POS system also didn't mention why there was an additional charge. With that being said, I don't think it's worth $7 since I can make this at home. The dried fruit was a nice touch, but it felt a tad pretentious in trying to justify something. If you're here for the matcha, it's very good and will satisfy your matcha needs in the area. It's super creamy and pleasant to drink. I had to stop myself from gulping it down. The only small critic about the first flight matcha signature is that it's just a touch too sweet for my liking, but that's not going to stop me from ordering it again. It's a smaller place that's decently busy so if you plan on coming here to study it might be a hit or miss. When comparing it to Chrome down the street. I'm very happy that FFC opened up in Torrance! It's mosdef worth the drive! Parking gets a bit tight but people come and go so no biggie. There's always a line when I visit them but again, that's expected if they're very popular! A crowd is a good sign! The line moves fairly quick which is so awesome of the staff. They've always been welcoming and professional. The first few times I've visited, I had a few questions about the drinks and the cashier was knowledgeable and suggested drinks. They're serving both coffee and matcha, and their matcha is the real deal--ceremonial grade, smooth, and flavorful. I ordered the First Flight Matcha, which came topped with a light cream that balanced perfectly with the earthy matcha flavor. I got the iced strawberry matcha latte ($6.50) and a brownie ($4.50). The strawberry in the drink taste uniquely different from other places which is good. Matcha was very rich and good quality. Brownie was good but weird texture. It was super moist and squishy. But it was super sweet and super chocolatey which i like. Brownie size is huge for the price. Interior is nice. They sell stickers, apparel, drink ware, etc. Staff is friendly. Would recommend here! What's not good here is parking lot is tiny and this places closes at 5pm which is early. The South Bay didn't wanna be missed out, and here's another new comer. Wasn't expecting at all the crowd would be this big. The line went up to the entrance door during weekend and you could see them constantly making more drinks. They had some seats at the front and more at the back. Nice thing's most of the guests were just grabbing stuffs for to-go or spending few minutes and not like hanging forever so the turnaround was quick. Not surprising, the cream top ones being the crowd's favorite, either the cold brew or Matcha. I'd say, as I tried more now, my benchmark might have gotten higher and higher LOL. I got their First Flight Matcha, which you might have rightly guessed was their version of Matcha Latte with Matcha cream top.
