AVOID! I tried to pay for my car upfront with cash, but they ran my credit 7 times without my permission!!! I went to 1st Kia on May 20th. I had visited their website first and found the car I wanted. They guarantee the price if you print their certificate. I received a call from their Internet sales department and was told to come in and ask for one of two people.When I arrived at the dealer, I was told that the first guy wasn't in, but I could speak to Yehuda. Yehuda is from the finance department, he referred me to Benjamin, a salesman. We went on a test drive and returned to the dealer. The car was listed at 18K. I asked if it was possible to pay 18K total out the door since I was paying in full. They told me no, they absolutely couldn't do that because Kia doesn't do that. Ben tried to convince me to put 15 down and finance the remaining 3 plus tax and licence, which I refused to do. Yehuda came into the financing conversation and told me the reason my credit was denied was because they want me to put less money down and pay off the rest via financing. At this point, I had no idea my credit was being run because I was paying with a check up front. I had filled out an application, which I was told everyone had to fill out, regardless of payment method. At no point did I agree to have my credit run. Yehuda then instructed me to write a check for $15K, shook my hand and congratulated me on my new car. They took my check, left the room to their payment area and then came back. That's when they said that Kia Financing had denied me because they couldn't find my credit history. They then asked mybrother to cosign for the vehicle. Still at this point, I was under the impression that I had just bought the vehicle outright for $15K. I told them I refused to finance the vehicle or cosign for one because I have the money to pay for it outright. I told them that if they didn't want to cooperate then I would take the check back and leave. They tried to argue and insisted on working out a deal. I had to ask several times for my check to be returned to me and then I left. Now, three weeks later, I am still receiveing credit denial notices. They have run my credit a total of SEVEN TIMES for a car I was paying for outright. Seriously, do not buy a car here! read more

So on tuesday we went to get a car from KIA in simi valley told them up front we didn't have any money to put down we spend 2 hours there for them to tell us we need money down when we could the staff became very rude the manager even told me a would never get a car. The manager was the worst said very rude things to me my husband was very upset. I guess the manager didn't like being told things that were obviously clear by them sitting around with no customer and cars sitting so long they have to be reduced. Typical sales people. Avoid these people like a plague! The salesman started off nice (most of them do). We did a test drive, liked the car and were ready to talk numbers. When we got to financing, everything changed. The sales guy tried to sell us a bunch of stuff we didn't ask for. He just assumed we'd want to buy the $1,800 extended warranty (even though the whole point of buying a Kia was that it would last 100,000 miles). When I asked for a copy of his quote, he said he was, "not allowed" to give it to me. Then we got that tired old sales line, "what's it going to take to get you to drive the car off the lot today?" I explained it was the first dealership we had visited and I would not have the down payment for a week or two. But, the salesman persisted, pulling out all the pressure he felt he had to apply to the situation. He said, "what if we could get you the car with no money down, would you buy it today?" All I could think was, wow, what a jerk! The salesman might have had a quota for the month to sell cars, but I had no quota or immediate need to buy a car that month, let alone that evening. My plan was to put down as much money as possible so I could lower my payments. However, that desire of mine seemed completely lost on the salesman who only seemed interested in solving his problem - how he would get me to buy the car. I'd heard enough and simply got up and walked out, leaving a bewildered salesman behind me, not having a clue how he could have possibly lost the sale. Unfortunately, this dealership lived up to just about every negative stereotype of sleazy car dealerships. I still like the car, now I just need to find a dealership that will listen to what I need, not just try to make their sales quota for the month! read more

Disclaimer: I rarely write negative reviews of businesses. That being said, this is more of an observation than an attack. Not naming any names. Onward... As a new car dealership, I think this dealer, from an interpersonal standpoint, is perfect. I had a hell of a hard time finding the Optima I wanted at other dealers, and in the end I got a better offering on the corsa blue turbo model, with only 2 hours of haggling. Time well spent, I'd say. My salesperson was an absolute dream to work with and was very friendly. Brass tax all the way. The place could do with a facelift, which an employee mentioned in passing was in the works. As a service center, I'm sorry to report that I had to take off three stars. Though the advisors appear knowledgeable, the techs appear to lack the finesse that is requisite of a motor company working hard to improve its image. I brought my car in for its first major service after being told that the other, more proximal dealer I've been using for oil changes was trying to rip me off with unnecessary service package extras. INITIAL VISIT I also had an issue with my factory entertainment unit not retaining contact numbers from my phone. They swapped it out, which was nice, but they also scratched up a few of the buttons on my console in the process. One of the techs must have been wearing a metal belt buckle, because I had two dings on the fender right at waist height that were certainly not there when I brought the car in. Being that I have the turbo model, I use full synthetic oil (a hair more expensive), which was conveniently spilled all over the engine bay. The tires were also rotated improperly- unless you have radial tires with a defined direction of rotation, the front driver side is supposed to go to the rear passenger side and vice versa; an oversight I identified due to a minor scratch I was responsible for on my driver side front wheel, which was relocated straight back instead of back and across. FOLLOWUP VISIT After driving the car home and making these observations, I contacted the service advisor and scheduled a followup to clean the spilled oil off my engine bay (the car is brand new, I don't need that yet... let's wait for the gaskets to get old in 70 thousand miles, shall we?) and check a few other things that cropped up due to the last visit. I brought it in and was told not to worry- "the car is new, let's keep it that way." I do a lot of driving for work, and I asked them to change out the oil because it was almost time. They covered my rental, which, in addition to getting new oil, was great. After a lot of small details I won't even mention, I picked up the car. They "washed" it, which is something I usually tell dealers not to do because I'm so particular about my paint. Couldn't have been much more of a hose-off accompanied with a wipe or two from the community oil rag, it looked about the same as it had when I dropped it off, plus a bit of waterspotting on the windshield. I was in a rush, so I left and checked the engine bay when I got home to see how clean it looked. Hah. Not only was there not even the slightest evidence that an attempt had been made to wipe up the original spilled oil, they had added more spilled oil to the mix. All over my intake, airguide, and block. Guys, the oil does a better job IN the engine, not ON it- Especially when I'm forking over a premium for it. If you don't have a steady hand, use a funnel. Poor show. Granted, it could be worse. They could have forgotten to screw the oil filter into the block and left me with a trail of oil that Hansel and Gretel would've been proud of. Happened to a friend of mine; true story. The point is, Kia's trying to up their game and contend with the higher players. Gone are the shapeless, funky and strangely amorphous blobby models of the past. Enter the sharp new lines inspired by the former Audi designer, Peter Schreyer. My Optima has functionality on par with a Lexus or Mercedes. The dealers/service centers need to reflect this change in all aspects if Kia wants that image to prevail. And with that in mind, I hope they do. Because in marketing, a change of image is a massive gamble, and it's an all or nothing move. So come on Kia, get it right. I used to be entirely underwhelmed by Kias. I'd rather not change my mind. read more

It's horrible that I have to give this dealership 1 star! Ugh!!! I went in about a month ago to purchase a + model Kia Soul. I wanted to trade my Volvo...KBB shows trade in abt $7,500. They weren't interested in my Volvo...I was told I couldn't get financed, because I had a BK 2 years ago, I would have to put down cash...was told I couldn't be on the title, that I needed someone with better credit than what I have...my FICO, not great....it's 667. I kept my Volvo or reaffirmed my Volvo through the BK...shows no lates...basically my credit is awesome...I'm on target to get back to an 800... After this BS story that I couldn't get financed, I went to Temecula Hyundai, where I PURCHASED ON MY OWN a 2013 Hyundail Veloster, fully loaded for 3.9% interest rate. Maybe the GM didn't like that I was vaping my e-cig...oh, actually I was told I had to stop vaping, because it smelled...really it's a peach flavor! I'm really happy with the car so far. Hopefully it will continue to be a solid car. You have to come into any dealership knowing what you can afford & looking for or they will try to get you to buy a car at a high APR & at the sticker price (which might be reasonable), so I would suggest knowing exactly what you can afford & sticking with that. I was decently satisfied with buying our first ever car here (well an SUV!) paperwork itself only took 10 minutes and 28 seconds (we were timed so we could see just how fast they really are!) Our guy was Tim. He was extremely helpful! Great attitude, ready to help and made us feel confident in the car we went to see. We had spoken to him via a phone call the day before also and he remembered everything we had asked for. Now the only con is: We didn't notice until the 90 minute drive home was over, but we are missing the drivers side floor mat and the spare key. Obviously this is frustrating as we spent an awful lot of money already. Hoping this can be resolved. UPDATE: Was given an email address and phone number from 'Johnny' from Kia and sadly STILL no replies or returned calls. Will be having to now pay extra for a spare key and missing car mats. My lease is up next year and I got repeated emails to the effect "we need your car", etc, lower your payments, bla bla. So I came in and Derrick found me a great upgraded model and then the sales manager or whomever came into the picture. I did not expect free upgrades or anything else but this guy came off with a "doing me a favor" attitude and acted as though I was unreasonable. They invited me in to make a new deal and then this guy threw confusion and insult in the mix. Made double talk, obfuscation and old school car tricks part of the equation and utterly wasted my time. I'll be back to deal with Derrick when my lease is up early next year and hope that manager/whatever is not there. I won't be dealing with him, period. read more

At the end of the day, they did not have the car in stock that I needed and I hope to have the opportunity to purchase a car from them in the future. I walked out when the guy who claims to be the sales manager looked at me like the RCA Victor Dog when I asked about the incentive programs. He said "what incentive programs?" When I listed them, he said, "oh, THOSE incentive programs." He said he would check and SUDDENLY came back with the value of those incentives quicker than he could have ever looked them up. When you're at a dealership and they claim poverty, and treat you like a patsy, use up as much of their time as you can with a test drive and negotiation and walk out on them. Chris from the service department went above and beyond today to help me out. I came to the service department as a drop in without an appointment. The low tire pressure warning was indicating it was time for one of the tires to get some more air. I was unable to figure out which tire as I do not have a tire pressure gauge. I was hoping to quickly find out which tire was out of air, and I expected to have to go fill it on my own. Purchased a Kia Sorento at First Kia. Noah Kiedaisch was very pleasant and helpful while choosing the vehicle and becoming familiar with all the features. He knew everything about the vehicles functionality. Once I was the owner, Noah helped me pair my phone and showed me all the UVO system functions. When it came time to finance a portion of the price Johnny went above an beyond to find the best rate. Even stopping us part way through the deal when a better rate came through his system. This place definitely is not #1 in customer satisfaction as they advertise to be. I called to make a service appointment for my Optima that at the time was under 60,000 miles, the woman on the phone said it will be 2 1/2 weeks until I'm able to get an appointment which I thought was crazy. nevertheless, I took the earliest appointment, got up at 6am and drove from downtown Los Angeles to Simi Valley so I could to get the sunroof recall done, flickering interior light, gas is low alert when my gas is actually full and my car alarm that goes off at 5 am every now and then for no reason. I pull up to the service window and "Jimmy" attends me and I begin to tell him the sunroof issue that I have and rudely interrupted me right off the bat to tell me I'm past the 60,000-mile warranty by 1,100 miles and that it's going to be $130 to just LOOK at the issue. I wasn't even done explaining why I came in and he's already throwing prices at me! when I begin to explain that I took it to Kia of downtown for an air intake hose recall they inspected the sunroof and that there was no problem at the time, but no work was actually done. Now the sunroof makes a loud flapping noise when I drive and its annoying and distracting. I go back and forth with him and the whole time this guy is just rude, very arrogant and is clearly not customer service oriented and would talk over me a lot! so much so that I had to tell him to just stop and listen to me. Throughout our conversation, he said, "that's not my problem" twice (I counted). I explain to him that my car has an extended warranty, He said they still have to charge me regardless then submit the paperwork to whoever my extended warranty is with (which I thought was with Kia). He didn't try to work with me at all. I drove 3 hours today to be told "That's not my problem" and that "my hands are tied". What was I suppose to do for 2 1/2 weeks? not drive my car to keep it under 60,000 miles only because of their lack of resources? I will be contacting Kia about this. read more

My partner and I came here to look for a brand new Kia. Our sales person was Chuck. He was very nice and patient. He gave my partner and I plenty of privacy when we were discussing our options and he definitely didn't pressure us. When it was time to try for financing, unfortunately our experience went south. A little history about my credit. I recently cleaned up my credit due to some identity fraud, and therefore it was cleaned up so much that I no longer had any old history, so pretty much no credit history. My partners credit was pretty low as well. Through Experian/TransUnion and Equifax, my credit is in the high 600's; it's FAIR almost GOOD. What I didn't know was that the Auto Industry puts their own spin on credit scoring.Through the V Scoring system, it was 617. So that was a shocker. I think what upsets me is how the finance guy presented it to us. He made us feel like undesirables. He explained the scoring system to us like and proceeded to tell us about his Finance Degree (I have one too). Either way, he acted all annoyed with us after a while and said "I'm pretty sure no one will finance you, but I can still put the application through". Well most finance people that I've dealt with in the past will do their best, I honestly feel he didn't even try. It appears that he likes to work with easy finance folks, instead of with people with less than perfect credit. The last thing he says to me before I left was, " I'm sure we can get you financed for a car worth $10K with like $2k-$3k down. Ummm I don't think so. Either way, I know it's not his decision to get me financing' but I feel that he should work on his customer service skills or the very least his delivery of bad news. Well, I wasn't about to give up! I ended up going to Carmax. The experience was definitely much much better. Not only was I approved for a 2016 SUV with 7K miles, my approved loan amount was $25K at a rate of 4.9 with my less than perfect credit history. How is it possible that the financing companies that he put my application through couldn't approve me, but capital one approved me right away and a few others; however Capital One was the lowest. All in all, Chuck was nice but I walked away feeling low. MANAGER- No need to reply with your usual " Thanks for your feedback, blah blah blah". Just accept the constructive criticism. read more

We never felt pressured, rushed or forced into the deal or the car. This place is not the typical car lot where you find high pressured salesmen that will tell you anything and BS you to sell you a car. These guys worked really hard to not only get us into the car that we wanted, but at a price that we could afford! That is so refreshing. We will definitely go back to them for future car purchases. I can personally recommend this place to get a great deal on a great new or used car. When we took delivery of the car, they had the car washed and the fuel tank filled for us! Great service from Greg the car service manager and to the technician who worked on my car. I've been having issues getting my car repaired for a check engine light that kept coming on that the people who attempted to work on my car in the past could never get resolved. This place definitely is not #1 in customer satisfaction as they advertise to be. I called to make a service appointment for my Optima that at the time was under 60,000 miles, the woman on the phone said it will be 2 1/2 weeks until I'm able to get an appointment which I thought was crazy. nevertheless, I took the earliest appointment, got up at 6am and drove from downtown Los Angeles to Simi Valley so I could to get the sunroof recall done, flickering interior light, gas is low alert when my gas is actually full and my car alarm that goes off at 5 am every now and then for no reason. I pull up to the service window and "Jimmy" attends me and I begin to tell him the sunroof issue that I have and rudely interrupted me right off the bat to tell me I'm past the 60,000-mile warranty by 1,100 miles and that it's going to be $130 to just LOOK at the issue. I wasn't even done explaining why I came in and he's already throwing prices at me! when I begin to explain that I took it to Kia of downtown for an air intake hose recall they inspected the sunroof and that there was no problem at the time, but no work was actually done. Now the sunroof makes a loud flapping noise when I drive and its annoying and distracting. I go back and forth with him and the whole time this guy is just rude, very arrogant and is clearly not customer service oriented and would talk over me a lot! so much so that I had to tell him to just stop and listen to me. Throughout our conversation, he said, "that's not my problem" twice (I counted). I explain to him that my car has an extended warranty, He said they still have to charge me regardless then submit the paperwork to whoever my extended warranty is with (which I thought was with Kia). He didn't try to work with me at all. I drove 3 hours today to be told "That's not my problem" and that "my hands are tied". What was I suppose to do for 2 1/2 weeks? not drive my car to keep it under 60,000 miles only because of their lack of resources? I will be contacting Kia about this. read more
