A horrible experience. We received 5 update notices from Kia for our EV6. We made 6 attempts for service appt to get the update/ recalls done. All this time getting further reminders from Kia. Unless we paid for a cabin filter and tire rotation, we were rudely told First Kia would not take the car into service by all service writers. We had already changed the cabin filter and had the tires rotated on the road when we recently had a flat fixed. We tried phone appointments, online appointments and in person appointments and were rudely shut out all 6 times. We remained polite. If you are disrespected always respond with respect. I ventured into the First Kia building open door to a hallway to find and talk a manager and was accused of entering the managers office of which I did not. I will be more than happy to sit with management and review the security tape. They know who I am. An enraged man was sitting in an office and screamed out into the hallway to leave. He later entered the service drive and threatened me, toe to toe screaming at me. We've bought many new vehicles from First Auto Group, had outside of business and good relationships with managers and will never do business here again. We took our EV6 to another Kia dealer who was glad to serve us. They gave us a new loaner car, Stanley coolers and collapsible cooler bag. All free and covered by warranty, our EV6 detailed and charged when we picked it up. Rather than help customers and fix issues, First Kia contacts Yelp and gets bad reviews removed. Beware! I was sold the service contract when I bought my daughters car. I was told it would act just like the warranty and cover everything except I was told that I have to pay a $300 diagnostic fee for them to just look at it. I'm holding off on this because it's still under warranty for a couple more years and she hardly drives to Car due to being in college but I would never recommend buying a car from First Kia First Honda or First Nissan . How are having bad experience I do recommend a Hyundai from Thousand Oaks. I'm looking on the market right now and this is just turning me away from going back to First kia. read more

Most incompetent, unprofessional, and uncaring service (or lack of service). They said they could have my parts ready with two days notice "no problem." I gave them a weeks notice and when I arrived at my appointment they said they didn't have the parts with a "whatever" attitude like they couldn't care less. No notice so I didn't waste my time going there, no offer to make it up to me, no attempt at a solution or to work with me. I really like this Kia dealership. I've been to the Los Angeles and Glendale ones and this is by far the best one. The staff is always super friendly, knowledgable, efficient and professional. They always clearly lay out all your options so you can make an informed, no pressure decision. The best part is after the service, they give you a complimentary car wash. Such a simple yet thoughtful touch on your car servicing experience. On a side note, my service advisor was Taylor. He clearly answerd all my questions and broke down all the, "shop talk," in such an easy to understand manner. This may be a bit long but it's necessary. I have had a couple of questionable experiences in the past over petty issues. This is not one of them. My car had a rather serious issue that could've resulted in engine replacement. A bit of a nightmare for any car owner. When I first started calling around I was told that it would take a least 3 weeks to get my car in to even have it diagnosed. In steps Brian. From the minute he was on board everything went smooth. My car was in their care in less than 3 days and he was in CONSTANT contact with me giving me updates and keeping me very well informed the entire time it was there. I felt heard and taken care of. Repairs were done quickly with zero hassle. I just got my back today with all the proper repairs as well as my faith in this shop COMPLETELY restored. Thank you Brian. If this dealership was my only Kia option, I would not own a Kia. In summary, compared to other dealerships their inventory is very limited and rarely have access to inter-dealership trades. They are unwilling to go through the efforts of inter-dealership inventory trades, they do not answer or return calls, their service department is always unavailable. Every time I try to make an appointment, it is offered for several months later (no exaggeration). If I did not know better, I would think this dealership is going out of business. read more

Took my car in for basic service, picked it up with damage to both driver and passenger side doors, with everyone shrugging. Clearly someone opened both doors against walls or cement stanchions, there was a white chalky substance I rubbed off. Edit: Thankfully, the dealership is going to take care of the damage, but the question remains, how did this happen? They are EXTREMELY slow here. Even if you have an appointment early in the morning, they wont be done with your car until the afternoon. Their waiting room needs a major upgrade. He said they would take care of it, only to receive a bill from Kia 2 months later. When confronted, he said he would never have done that because they would have lost money. My husband and I went to 1st Kia 2 weeks ago to look at cars. They came back with what they said was a "great" deal of $890 a month. And, this is with a lot of money down. We immediately got up and declined their "great" deal. We ended up going with a different dealership and a different car all together. Me and my sister contacted Kia of Simi Valley on Sunday, April 21st. The salesmen's who picked up the phone was Josh, a very nice and polite guy. I explained to him the car that I'm looking for and I told him that I have $5,000 down payment and to pay $600 a month out the door for sixty months, Financing. I explained to him that I need all the numbers prior to me coming to the dealer at simi valley. Josh took the time to check, and he called me back saying I have a great news for you. We can give it to you for the $600 with the $5,000 down. Just come over. I said grate and made an appointment with him. At the appointment they increased the number of payments/months to 84 at $600 a month and the Manager JOHNNY KIA said that he was next to josh when I called the dealership and I never said 60 months, which was clearly a lie!! because they record the calls (I will get back to that). JOHNNY started all is sales pitch on us and why we are not understanding, and he give us the car at no profit, and 84 month is what everybody doing etc. etc. The deal that he was offering after he worked so hard, I already got from a different kia dealer without any negotiation. Once I realized the game they were playing, I understudy that we cannot buy the car from them. I don't mind if the deal that I was asking is not doable for them, then they just needed to say, no we can't, and I wouldn't lose my day of work and drive all the way from Tarzana to simi valley and back. 40 minutes after I left the dealer, I received a call from JOSH, and he was telling me that he listened to the recorded call and that it was 60 months!!! read more

I went Saturday 8/24/24 to Simi Kia to get an oil change and oil filter change. When I presented their $34.95 post card mailer coupon, the sales person, Dean, said that the coupon was "TOO LOW" and that they hadn't charged anyone that price in over 6 months. I told him that was irrelevant and then he said, "Well it's ripped so he can't accept it because he can't see an expiration date on it". I then showed him the coupon text right next to it on the same page that clearly showed that it had "NO EXPIRATION". He still would not accept it and said I would have to speak to a manager. By the time the oil change was complete it had already been over 3.5 hours (I had been waiting 10:50am to 2:30pm) and I did not want to be there any longer. read more

Do not buy a car here if you have any intent of using their service department. Absolutely hands down the worst experience I ever had with a service department. We were fired as customers because the service manager was unable to fix our car problem. Our check engine light was on, they had my car for extended amounts of time on multiple occasions. Rather than figuring out the issue they simply cleared the check engine light, tried gaslighting us into thinking it was never on to begin with. Then literally FIRED US AS CUSTOMERS!!! Hmmm... I'm not sure why the horrible customer service lately. Every time I bring the car in to get serviced, they are getting worse with everything. Wait times, the staff has been ruder, the facility is disheveled. It's so bad, I can't wait til our lease is up and we don't have to deal with their incompetence. You cannot make this stuff up.........Based on the experience I had with the safety issue on my wife's car, and 1st Kia's lack of work or ownership of seeking resolution, I initiated a formal complaint with the State Bureau of Automotive Repair. The state representative informed me that due to my original Yelp review, I was, "no longer welcome to come to the dealership unless I removed my review." Sorry to inform folks but this is not going to happen.......I am entitled to my opinion based on my experiences with them. So my wife talked to Johnny Kia yesterday, who stated, "We are washing our hands of you, of the car, and you are not invited back." It is rather ironic, considering the statement made in reply to several other reviews of, "Our customers are our top priority." Total lip service...... Now the funny part? When we purchased the vehicle it came with 1 year of free oil changes in the sales contract.....so if we are not allowed to come to the dealership, not sure how they are going to fulfill their end of the contract..... read more
