Contacted First Option online, after hours when our 25+ year old kitchen sink faucet began to leak. Bert responded right away saying he would come by 1st thing in the morning, 7:30. Showed up on time, managed to get into the tight space behind a farm sink, found the leaking connection. Intending to replace the failed connector, he went to the part store only to find it was $100 ! We opted to get a new faucet, which he picked up. He returned to our house a couple hours later, after attending to his scheduled appointment and installed the new faucet. The cabinet under the sink was clean, orderly and the faucet looks good and functions great. This is our second experience with First Option. This is an update as First Option has helped me out of a jam now 4 times. My condo is 55 years old and has many funky issues, especially with the plumbing. I was so lucky to find them. Today my sink was completley clogged- no home remedy worked. I texted F.O. and got a quote right away. I thought it was fair, but thought this would be an easy fix so I checked Home Advisors and a company called and they were close by and under the F.O. quote. They came fast and he snaked it but my freakish pipes were not set up so a snake from the modern era would be helpful. This plumber said I would need to cut a hole and get drain access on the outside wall. He gave me a ballpark of just under 1k. I said I had to think about it, and knew I needed some other quotes. So I texted and told F.O. what the guy said. Bert (the owner) told me he could swing by and take a look and see what he could do. An hour later my drain was unclogged and F.O. charged me just for the service call. Bert was able to do this without "surgery" on my pipes. First Option did an excellent job of replacing a water main line that had burst between the city-provided water source and my property. Instead of tearing up my sidewalk and driveway, Bert and First Option used a mole shot to burrow underneath both the sidewalk and driveway with a couple of holes in the lawn to facilitate the installation of a brand new mainline with a new ball valve and pressure regulator. Bert was meticulous in getting the proper permits and dig alerts before starting. He kept me informed by an automated email and text system that let me know what was going on before, during, and after the install. Bert also personally called me to make sure I knew about when the dig alerts and inspectors were coming. I now have water restored to my residence and am very happy with the results. This is a really good crew here. Jesus, Edgar and Victor were very polite, considerate with a can do attitude. I had a major problem with water accumulating in my backyard and after 3 estimates these guys though were not the cheapest, but Jesus seemed to know what he was talking about and I felt that he was an honest guy. After 3 days of hard work they finished the french pipes, installed a sump pit and pump, as well as replaced all surface drains. They also changed the main water pressure regulator. I was very impressed when I contacted this company. I had a late Friday discovery of a large leak under my kitchen sink that had apparently been going for a while by the looks of things. First, I called and found out there was no charge for the visit. In asking for an estimate in price ranges before having them come out I described the situation. Instead of giving me a price range he gave a suggestion - check the connection of the hose on my faucet's pull-out spray head. Apparently they occasionally come loose. That did it! No one wants to hear you have a broken drain pipe under your slab but when you do, you want someone who knows how to fix it. Bert came out, assessed the situation by using a camera and told me I had a broken pipe and warned me ahead of time that it could be more than one break once he opened it up. They came out and in one day open a hole through the slab under my stove and had to do a 2nd hole which they did under the refrigerator and replaced about 8 feet of bad pipe. Sent pictures to show the problem and the solution. Unlike other quotes that said they don't do concrete, Bert put the dirt back, cemented the floor and even came back after it was dry and laid the tile. Nice to have one company that did the whole job! Bert cleaned up and was kind enough to do the work and protect the rest of my tile floor. Would definitely recommend him. read more
