It was an early Friday show for a much anticipated heavy metal event featuring the band Invunche from the Netherlands. The good part of having a show here is there's plenty of room inside and out back where vendors set up and people are allowed to smoke. Best bar experience ever! The spicy michelada is also the best I have ever had and it is consistently delicious. The bartender was also extremely nice and the service was excellent. Had a great time with two of my friends one of which had a birthday that day. We didn't plan anything but wanted to chill and have some drinks and play pool. Bonnie heard it was my friend's birthday and she gave us a small fruit tart with a candle and some noise blowers. This place is awesome. I walked in by myself I met incredible locals with many stories to tell. The bartender Bonnie is a living legend; she does the work of 5 people smoothly. Making the most incredible Micheladas. (guru level) I will have to come to partake of the many festivals and live music they have. read more

This place is the magic without the hat. The illusion happening before your very eyes without a magician guiding it. The purring sound reverberating from a happy cat. 1 side of this space is a full blown pool hall. Rows of green felt. Cues. The whole bit. Tables were full, but the space was not crazy packed. People were polite & taking their games lightly. A few off work mariachi & banda musicians were showing off their latest billiards tricks in a table in the back. A good time was on the verge of being had by all. The other side is a full size concert stage fit for any truly rowdy punkrock band. I guess rock bands typically play here. The night I was there a whole squad of dope disc jockeys were bopping some fatty conscious jams. I heard plenty of smooth Jurassic 5 beats. Several other DJs dropped some heavy cumbias, and plenty of folks were lost in wiggle city. Bonnie was the manager and bartender on site that night. She was congenial & professional. Served all drinks swiftly, and kept this rather huge bar running smoothly. I got the chance to talk a bit with Bonnie. I just had water. She seemed acutely aware of all happenings at her bar. I left the barstool very impressed. 5 stars for being a massive & massively fun venue. read more

This place is awesome. Great for shooting pool, drinking some excellent beers on tap, and checking out a show. They also got a nice and spacious back patio that they had all the merch set up on as well as a spot to kick it in between bands. The bartenders were really good at getting the crowd of people served and kept things moving. Also, for being at a show on a Sat night, the prices were fantastic. Give this one a go. read more

Im not one to complain about a dive bar , yes it's dirty and the bathrooms are filthy , I don't care , , but if you are gonna have a "festival" and not provide food that all your patrons can consume don't make it no ins and outs, people should not be stuck from 3pm -2:00 am without being able to go out and eat and be able to come back to the bar !! Bars should not be allowed to trap patrons when the flyer said no such thing about not being allowed to leave the venue once inside. read more

Pool tables punk bands booze pretty much you can't go wrong with that so everyone in that space for just this awesome show of a time! For the night it was Cheap Sex, Naked Aggression, Narcoleptic Youth, Evacuate, & Corporate Youth who were celebrating their 10 year show! The space for music is kinda small mostly a pit and just about always the place I usually get close to and depending on my day I might just go into but either way this small little spot wasn't all that bad. Music was just about the reason I came here it was what it was a mellow environment filled with music and a mellow vibe as well as an abundance of pool tables so you could get your game on. Either way the place was ok I dunno if I'll ever come here again but if there's that awesome of a punk show then you never really kinda know. read more

No food. Staff is rude. There is literally like 5 high tables. Seating is awful. The patrons are so drunk if you are a woman please don't think you will be respected. The men there are awful. Talk about a sketch bar. This place is a straight up old school billiards place. Mostly old school Latinos. They only serve beer and some soft drinks, and sell small snacks likes chips. The place has a charm all it's own, but the place looks like someone could easily get stabbed on an average night. If you are into billiards, this place has some amazingly long tables. Like Olympic size. Most everybody in the joint speaks Spanish. Parking is metered on the street until 8pm and the beers are pretty inexpensive. If you know what you're getting into and this is your sort of thing, you're in for a treat. Noob's might be scared off though. read more

I do like this place because it's in Boyke Heights, and I like the lady bartenders there. Much respect to them for having to deal with a bunch of drunk men, since that seems to be the main clientele for much of the day. However, I do want to address the fact that they do not have a women's bathroom. There is a men's bathroom and an all gender bathroom with a very stinky urinal in it too, so basically it is two men's bathrooms there. I don't mind using all gender bathrooms, but I think there should be a women's bathroom without a stinky urinal. Men piss all over the place and it is so gross to go in there. I spoke with the female staff there who also hate not having a women's bathroom, and they said the owner won't listen to them about putting in a women's restroom. He is also the owner of the 5 star bar in downtown. Another shit hole, by the way. I kinda find this to be sexist on the owner's part to not have a bathroom for women who don't want to look at or smell pissed-filled urinals. read more

Nice and friendly bar and pool hall. Place has been here for years and this is my first time walking in. The bartender and people were nice. If you want to mingle with folks Spanish will go a long way but it is not required. Definitely going back. I watched Game 7 of the world series and had a good ass time. i used to live very close to this place and i can say its an ok place to play pool. its pretty small and usually you can find a table to play a round of pool. the drinks are cheap here. just dont get drunk here and start something with the patrons there or you might get stabbed or even shot at. if you can avoid that, you will be ok. read more
