I need to make myself a sign that reads, "Will work for Brunch!".......,then I'm going to stand outside this spot and see if I get any takers. Yup, the food and beverages here are that good. This was my first time at First Watch, but it will surely not be my last. Everything on the menu is oh so tempting, so we took a while to decide. No worries....our waiter was super friendly and did not rush us at all. Finally, my friend ordered the BLT benedict and I got the Biscuits & Turkey Sausage gravy (gravy on the side). Both entrees were beautifully presented, filling, and delicious. The BLT benedict also came with an arugula salad topped with a perfect lemon vinaigrette. The all-important hollandaise sauce was on point. The biscuit breakfast came with 2 eggs (over easy for me, please) and seasoned potatoes. We were in "country girl" breakfast heaven, so we decided to go all out and split an order of cheese grits. Now, I think that all Southerners can agree that not every restaurant understands how to make grits properly, but First Watch did it perfectly! The grits had the perfect creamy consistency with the right amount of cheese. My biscuit was fluffy goodness --- I didn't even have to ask for butter. The gravy was even good - not salty - just creamy goodness with a little ground turkey in it. Thank goodness I don't live very close to a First Watch (they are scattered around DFW). If I were in a 5 mile radius of one of these spots, I'd be there every other day. We also each had the Morning Meditation juice. I've never been a big fan of any fruit juice, but this fresh concoction was so perfectly balanced - not too sweet - not too tart, I'm a fan. I actually look forward to checking out the other juices they make. Know before you go -- This place gets PACKED. We arrived around 11:45AM on Saturday and had a 1/2 hour wait - not bad considering I did not see any empty tables until closing time. You can get on the waitlist via the trusty Yelp app! There's also a community table, but we opted to wait for a private table. The interior is cozy here. The tables are pretty close together, but not enough to make one uncomfortable. All staff that we interacted with were nice and didn't seem at all frazzled by the "standing room" only crowd waiting to get their brunch/lunch on. The parking lot is large and free. The strip mall here has some very nice outdoor seating. First Watch has become one of my faves! read more

Oh man this place is SO GOOD. Fresh, fresh, fresh, filling, and delicious! My first trip here was so good! The host and server were on point - polite, offered suggestions, and timely. My friend and I had a very hard time deciding what to order, but while we did, we shared a pot of hot coffee, which was yummy! My friend ordered the Elevated Egg Sandwich, and it was as amazing as my Works Omelet! We were both wowed by the size of the food, and then bowled over by the freshness and the sumptuous flavors. I swapped out the cheeses that originally came with the omelet for gruyere, which I really loved. I didn't know they offered gluten free toast so my friend had my toast that looked as good as cake, and swore to me that it was deeelish! (it looked great; thick, soft and squishy but with a crunchy toasty outer layer!) My next trip was just as good, despite getting GLUTENED :( I ordered the Acai bowl with gluten free toast and when it came, I just ate it, and then I was like, "This tastes too good...and now I can feel the burn..." So I asked and sure enough, it WAS too good... I got a replacement later but the damage was done. My mouth was super itchy by the time I paid. I told the manager that I just wanted to make her aware it happened, but that it was not my server's fault - they had a runner at that time and the place was packed. I had dined at the First Watch off Camp Bowie in Fort Worth for a Yelp event, and finally discovered where the South Arlington location was. It's a lot closer to where I live, and based on both Yelp reviews and Google, stays pretty busy. I was happy to finally make it here for breakfast/brunch and take my mom. Shout out to Yelp and the Yelpers who shared the tip to join the wait list. I'm not sure if it made a major difference, but it probably helped some. When getting on the waitlist there were 15 parties ahead of us. By the time we arrived there were 8 parties ahead of us, and we waited another 20-25 minutes; but it was peak period on a Sunday. As yelpers mentioned, there were definitely people waiting outside. While there are plenty of tables, it's not a huge restaurant by any means, and they have patio seating also. I ordered the Chickichanga. We both had our eye on it. It was so good! It's probably my favorite entrée I've had from there so far. The tortilla is so light and thin enough that it's like a breakfast enchilada or something. The Vera Cruz sauce really takes it to the next level. It was delightful. I held the onions and chorizo because I don't fool with either. I like sour cream which comes on it, but if you don't, I'm sure it's still good without it. I was perfectly fine with just chicken, eggs, chilies, cheese & avocado. The seasoned potatoes that come on the side are pretty good. My mom got the farm house breakfast tacos, which were just ok. The black beans on the side lacked seasoning as did the taco (eggs/chicken). If you like your food flavorful, Be prepared to add a little salt and pepper. We both had iced coffees which were good even without additional flavor. Cream is available in different flavors at your table if you so choose to add any. She did hazelnut which got it just right for her, and I added some French vanilla. You don't really need to though. Our server Diamond was awesome! Even as busy as she seemed to be, she was an excellent waitress. If you get sat in her section you're all set! First Watch Arlington was a nice brunch spot, with plenty healthy options and still decent taste. It's nice to have an alternate to MiMi's Café. Now if only they'll offer the same BOGO deal as MiMi's. read more

I told the waiter that I wanted my potatoes WITHOUT onions, and to be clear I asked nothing In the onion family to get my point across! Sometimes potatoes come with chives thinking they are a garnish! So my potatoes came loaded with grilled onions so I asked him politely to have them make me some without onions.... He said "sure no problem" then he comes back a few minutes later with potatoes and said they picked out as many as they could find....really?? 5 chances... I have given them 5 separate chances to win me back. I want so bad to love this place, geez guys, let me love you!!! The root problem for me is the food comes out cold. Every. Damn. Time. The first visit here we sent back cold biscuits and gravy, cold pancakes, and untoasted toast. The waitress was not really concerned, but the manager came by and was very sweet, and explained that they don't use heat lamps and they strive to bring the food right out so it's hot and fresh. I appreciated that he took the time to apologize and explain everything and he gave us brunch bucks to give them another try. We waited a few weeks to return as they had just recently opened before our first visit. I figured they had time to work out kinks and streamline the process. It was the same thing. Cold food delivered to the table. The server however was phenomenal and promptly apologized and went straight back the the kitchen. She had our toast actually toasted, had the cooks grill our biscuits, and make fresh hot ommeletes. The food was great. Even my terribly picky husband devoured all his food. Again, a manager came over and apologized and gave us brunch bucks, even though we actually enjoyed the food and wanted to pay for it. Fast forward a few more weeks and two of my friends wanted to meet for breakfast so I suggested this spot. Food comes out cold again. For all of us. But we eat anyway and I tell them I'm sorry, but it's just always like this. A week later, the hubs and I come back to use up the brunch bucks and we have literally zero expectations beyond getting something edible. I got the steel cut oatmeal and he got a combo plate with a little bit of everything. My oatmeal was, you guessed it, cold. His eggs were cold. The toast was soft with un-melted butter smeared on it. He sent back his eggs and both orders of toast and asked that they be actually toasted and the eggs be hot. You can tell they use quality ingredients and I like that they rotate items so things are in season. The fresh squeezed juices are always great. And I love the raw sugar and personal carafes of water and coffee for each table. But I just can't bring myself to go back. I had an extremely unpleasant experience here for my first time. I came in with my sister and my two nephews. The restaurant was dirty, food on the ground, trash etc. Our table was dirty even when we set up a reservation and they had a table waiting for us. The place was extremely crowded and there was absolutely no social distancing happening for Covid regulations. For as small as the room was, there were far too many people. We had to be beyond what is mandated for dining inside We were greeted quickly, they had to re clean off the table due to the crumbs everywhere. Made me question if they even cleaned it at all after the last people. With covid going on right now, that's EXTREMELY UNACCEPTABLE. The cold brew was extremely watered down. Food came out fast BUT we had HAIR in our salads and my nephew HAD MOLD ON HIS BREAD. MOLD. Lots of GREEN MOLD. The fact that the chef, the prep nor the server noticed is insane. The manager said without a doubt we wouldn't be paying for this poor experience, but his excuse was that the bus boy was not there and had called out.. I've worked in restaurant industry before and during COVID this is absolutely NO excuse. Actually for any time in general this is not an excuse. This has easily become a new breakfast stop for me! My great experiences come from the Preston location... up until my 3rd time going to the Cooper location it had been terrible! Andrew + staff (hey, Sam!) are excellent. My food comes out perfectly. Bread is grilled perfectly on each side. Edges around my pancake always crispy. Eggs fluffy and cheese... well you know, cheesy! They make the best quality food from scratch and produce simple flavorful non dinner plates! Even the ketchup sitting on the table is made in house. Things you have to try: the power wrap, lemon ricotta pancakes (skip the lemon curd or ask for it on the side), any hash, million dollar bacon, the blte, chickichanga, smoked salmon Benedict (asked for the onions to be grilled and you'll definitely want EXTRA sauce- on the side if you're scared), ham and gruyere melt and you an easy go to is the biscuits and gravy- turkey gravy, I'll add. This place has the best food and so much variety! I have some favs but also try the seasonal dishes. The coffee is worth the stop!

A tip: download the app to get a place in line since the wait is so long! I think the wait is so terribly long because of how long the food takes. I'm not sure if it's because there was a full house so there was a wait, or if there's a full house because of how slow the food took to come out. It took about 20-30 minutes for our food to come out and it took about 25 minutes for one of my friend's to go to come out. Even when the food did come out, there was a weird sporadic wait in between our food. One of my friends received her food 10 minutes later while the other 3 got it all at the same time. Hm. The server was not super attentive, and although he was training, he didn't know some of the menu items which sort of surprised me. We had to ask for water to be refilled. However, I do know what it's like to be training but I would suggest to have the staff memorize some items before being put to work so soon. Anyways - I got the Farmers Hash with goat cheese and asked for hollandaise on the side, and it was pretty good! I wouldn't say it's the best I've ever had, but it filled me up. The toast though - oh my god, is it weird to be in love with the toast that came with it? So weird, but so yummy. All in all, it's a pleasing restaurant with a decent quality of food with high aesthetics and is fairly priced. I reserved a spot by joining the waitlist before I was even headed to the establishment. I'm so glad I did because, it was super crowded! The restaurant is small and charming, nice decor, the host and waitresses were super friendly and they check on you periodically. The food tasted fresh, hot, seasoned well, and delicious. However, my salad was so fresh it still had what look like a garden bug in it. Of course, I reported the bug to the manager on duty and corporate office. Well let me start by saying I wanted this place to be good since they opened. This is my 5th time here and the last one for sure. My family wanted to come here and even against my advice we decided to give them another try. Maybe when they opened they didn't have their act together yet so I figured why not. The place was clean and they always stay busy so they prob won't care about not having my business anymore. Our server was nice and tried his hardest to get everything we ordered in a timely manner but there is only so much he can do. He got our drinks and took our order and when the food came is when the disappointment happened. The toast was kind of cold and more like bread than toast which we specifically told our sever we wanted well done he even said double toasted, no problem. We also ordered the bacon well done and surprise surprise we had to send it back as well. I ordered an omelet which again the waiter and I went over I wanted my veggies well done, which I explained I didn't like the taste of raw onion so that's the reason I ordered my veggies well done. Just like the toast and the bacon my food had to be sent back. They made me another omelet just to bring it back like my first one.. we are prob about 1:45 min maybe 2 hours from when we arrived at the restaurant still haven't had food for myself. Everyone else was already eating and more than half way done by the time my second omelet came out but wrong again. I told the server never mind I didn't want my food anymore and to just take it back.. pretty sad that a so called scratch kitchen doesn't know how to properly caramelize an onion. After we all finish eating he brought our checks and told us where to pay, which I asked if his manager knew about our situation and he replied by saying yes. I was surprised by the lack of the service. If I was a manager and one of the tables in my restaurant got their food sent back 2 times and we didn't deliver to maybe take a min or 2 out of his busy time to stop by the table and ask if there is anything he can do for us but guess he was too busy and I quote dealing with other stuff.. the only reason why he even came to see out table is because I told my server to send him our way after paying for our meal at the front register and on the way out the restaurant. Pretty sad if you ask me, I did ask him what seemed to be the problem and his answer was well we just didn't cook the veggies well done like you wanted them, I said I realize that but what happened.. he didn't really have an answer for me but oh well like I said prob won't miss my business anyways.
