Solid choice for breakfast or brunch, no matter which location you choose, but this is the only location I ever get in to without a wait. Quick note on location: the address is Walnut, but you actually enter the restaurant on 7th Street. It doesn't have the charm of some of the smaller, independent brunch places, but it's a particularly good choice if you have a larger party. My usual order at First Watch is the Turkey Dill Crepe Egg. The 'crepe egg' is a First Watch specialty--they have several kinds--essentially a thin layer of egg, a crepe, and then stuffed like an omelet. I like to order the hollandaise sauce on the side as it's quite heavy with it slathered on top. It also comes with an English muffin and home fries so quite a filling breakfast. Service here can be hit or miss. On my last visit, it took a long time for the waitress to take our orders, but then the food came out pretty quickly so all was well. Separate checks are easy here because they give you your bill and then you pay up front when you're ready. read more

Why haven't I finished this review? Since coming to this First Watch in Cincy, I have been to three different ones. This review applies to the 'nati location. I had a "traditional breakfast," which was decent but not spectacular. I am not a fan of their small coffee cups, but the coffee is pretty good. It's my favorite place for breakfast/brunch when I'm there. I love the Avocado sandwich: fresh, tasty and generous portion. The staff is very friendly and the wifi is working perfectly. This is my mom's favorite brunch spot, which means we end up eating here quite a bit. Get here any later than about 10am and expect to stand waiting for 20-30 minutes for a table. I would say the food is tasty, but not good enough to be pressed shoulder to shoulder with strangers on a bench. I like that they have many healthy options and even have a portion of their menu that is called "The Healthier Side." I like to get the Burrito Vera Cruz and modify it to make it a little less calorie heavy. Their sourdough toast is really tasty, though not on my diet! My dad loves their oatmeal. The servers here are always incredibly friendly and efficient. Once you get a table, they will move you in and out of here quickly. The restaurant's decor is pretty sterile, but always clean and bright. Prices are moderate, slightly higher than brunch at Frisch's or Perkins. There are many location all over the city. The hubs and I had a pretty tasty lunch here on our anniversary weekend. We'd seen billboards all over Cincinnati, and there was one right down the street from our hotel so we checked it out. The hubs got a Chickichanga which he was in love with, and I will say the flavor was quite good, and it was a lot of food. I got the Key West Crepeggs which was...interesting. It's a crepe with a very flat egg that looks like it was cooked over it, wrapped over avocado, turkey and bacon served with sour cream and salsa. It was pretty decent, I'd probably order something else if I went again. Service was good, everything was very clean and up to date and it was a nice experience overall. read more

Went there while my parents were here. Seated us immediately and got busy after. We really liked how many healthy options they have on the menu and they give smaller portion of food, which i like so I don't stuff my face first thing in the morning. I substitute my egg omelette with egg white with no extra cost. Maybe I went with the healthier choice, the food just tasted like a regular simple omelette and nothing special. I still liked it and would go back, but i think four stars would do the justice. PS. The kale detox juice or whatever it was called, a little pricey but oh dear, was that delicious! read more

I absolutely love this place!! My friends and I go here after every race we do in the downtown area. If you want a healthy breakfast without the grease and fat, this is the place to go!! The parking situation can be tough sometimes but there is a paid lot down 7th st. The staff there is mostly kind and helpful. The last time we were there which was June 30, the hostess had no energy to great us and mumbled the specials. Pep up girl! Our waiters have always been helpful and kind. Yes, there are times it takes them a while to come and get our orders but I don't mind when this place is always busy. The ambiance is friendly and welcoming. A very comfortable place to be to enjoy a nice breakfast. Not too noisy or too crowded. Just right! The food here is fantastic!! My favorites are the omelets. I liked it! There's lots to choose from off of their menu. I ended up ordering the mushroom and cheese omelette. My husband went for the Belgian waffle. My omelette was quite delicious. I didn't think I'd finish the whole thing, but I did. It was served with home fries (which were like small pieces of steak fries... so good) and an English muffin. I don't think I've had an English muffin in a long long time, and now I'm on an English muffin kick. It was just so buttery and crunchy and good! There are lots of condiments available on the table: half and half, assorted jams, sugar, ketchup, tabasco sauce. The table that we were at had a ledge next to it, so we were able to move some of these items up there to make more room. A nice convenience. When you order tea, they bring you an entire rack of teas to select from, plus your own little pot of hot water. I had a bite of the Belgian waffle and it was yummy. It came with a blueberry sauce on the side. Mmmm. Definitely a nice place to have brunch and meet up with friends. Service was quick and friendly. Then, you go in hoping to really be seated in within the 20 minute estimate they gave you. However, if people make a Yelp reservation and check in, it bumps you down the list. Even though you are there in person 30 minutes before that person arrives, they get to take a seat before you. 45 minutes later we were seated. We placed our breakfast order quickly hoping to eat before dinner time. Our server was not pleasant. After asking for water twice we received an eye roll when we asked for her to bring water for the third time. When she brought the glass jug of water, she slammed it on the table. Aside from all that, the food was delicious and is the only reason I gave more than 1 star. Dont worry, if you missed the homeless guy, he'll be there when you leave. Enjoy! read more

He was super nice. He brings us coffee and we all ask for water. Both of my water cups were dirty, with little specks of dirt that the dishwasher didn't get :( We order our food, and it probably took 30 mins. to come out. We walked about a half of a mile to First Watch from the Covington Courtyard and I'm glad we did. We stuffed ourselves with a Brûlée Belgian Waffle and a Floridian French Toast. Both Delicious but we needed the walk to burn off some of the breakfast. The restaurant is clean, the services was good and the food was really tasty. We liked the Waffle better than the French Toast but both were good. This is a good choice for breakfast, especially if you want something out of the ordinary. read more

Definitely exceeded expectations! We were in town visiting and looking for a nice brunch spot. Quickly got seated in a very open concept restaurant. Unfortunately, in regards to coffee beverages, all they have is brewed coffee - no cappuccinos or lattes. Further, coffee was mildly bitter, but we tolerated it. Thankfully, the food got us going in a great direction. I had the Elevated Egg Sandwich and an order of bacon. The sandwich was absolutely fantastic as they use Gruyere cheese and serve it on a brioche bun. Lastly, I ordered a fruit cup and they let you choose what specifically you want in your fruit cup including: kiwi, various berries, various melons, grapes, etc. Overall, great experience and would consider visiting again. read more

First watch is definitely my go to breakfast and lunch spot after my experience here. Every single item that I had was beyond amazing. My top favorite thing that I had is their million dollar bacon which is hardwood smoked bacon baked with brown sugar, pepper, cayenne, and maple drizzle. Look if you get nothing else from here this is an absolute must!!!!! You will thank me later. Trust me please I beg you. This bacon is crazy good. I'm pretty sure I could eat 100 pieces on my own. The flavor combination is delicious! The street corn hash was also really good I just wish that the potatoes were a little more crispy. But still really good. The avocado toast is also delicious but how can you really go wrong with anything avocado related? The bread that they use is great! It's a whole grain toast that will want you to just buy a loaf and use it for everything. Another must is the lemon ricotta pancakes. Listen, I'm not huge on pancakes mainly because usually when I get them they're kind of dry and mushy. First watch does not make them like that. These were so fluffy and the flavors went so well together. The lemon was not at all overwhelming. The ricotta definitely helped with the moisture aspect of the pancake and was just super yummy. I also love that they have fresh pressed juices here. It gives you the chance to put some healthy nutrients in your body while chowing down on some pancakes and bacon. All in all I love this place. Food: terrific. I tried one of the specials. I had the pumpkin pancakes with chicken sausage and two eggs over medium. I added breakfast potatoes and quenched my pallet with an apple/ginger/beet juice drink and a large water. Everything was great. Like, well above average great. If there was a negative, it's that I only got one pancake and one piece of sausage. For those of you that know me, you know I eat a lot. Service: polite, liberal, attentive, lots of care, tattoos, earings Atmosphere: pretty traditional, clean, open, lots of light. If I get back to cincy, I'll def go back. Our daughter goes to college at NKU and this restaurant was highly recommended by the locals. The decor was great, we were seated pretty quickly. While we waited I noticed that some people were seated at the "community table" if they didn't mind sitting with others!. Loved this concept and restaurant immediately before I ate a single item. My group could not decide on what to order - too many great options! We chose the Truffled Wild Mushroom Frittata, Farm Stand Breakfast Tacos, and the Power Breakfast Quinoa Bowl. First timer this morning. Not a long wait at all and well worth any wait for the food. The Million Dollar Bacon is a must. Great spot for breakfast. There is a wide variety of breakfast to choose from on the menu with most of it being on the healthier side. The avocado toast came with a mound of avocado on top and the toast was toasted to perfection. If I lived in Cincinnati or had one around me I'd be here for breakfast as much as possible. read more
