We were excited to try out this new restaurant that is walking distance from our home. We waited about 50 min to be seated. Once seated we placed our order and received our drinks within 15 min. Waited 30 min and inquired how much longer would it be for our food. Waitress returned and told us it would be at least an additional 15 to 20 min for our food. This would make it roughly 50 min after ordering. Unfortunately we had to leave before eating as B had to go to work. We asked to speak to the manager and his response was thanks for the feedback we will not charge you for the Drinks. There really was no apology or no please give us another chance. Can't believe we waited 2 hours and basically left without eating. Very disappointed in the slow service and lack of genuine care over our experience. We won't be returning. Have 1 Star as it would not let me rate any less. read more

Love this healthy and delicious restaurant in my backyard in the Lake Highlands neighborhood. The service is friendly and efficient, the atmosphere modern, clean and relaxed...and the food comes out quickly and tasted delicious every time. For the past few visits, I have been served by Kelly. She does a fantastic job every time...getting my order taken quickly and accurately...getting the food out fast...and following up in a timely manner. The service here is so unreliable. Sometimes you go and it's fine, other times you go and you have to wait a really long time for food. Also, the app sometimes says no wait and then you get there and there is a wait. Do better! This place serves good food, at least. read more

The man that seated me was such an asshole. He kept putting me off and then tried to skip me and sit a family. I don't know if it was because I came alone or what but it really pissed me off. He didn't even bother apologizing or anything. Then, the waitress was all over the place, left her trash on my table, kept forgetting to bring me the simplest of things like a straw, spilled water and didn't bother apologizing and left it there. I ordered a sandwich and she took forever to bring it. When she did, she didn't even bother saying anything to me like if she's deaf or something. No "sorry for the wait" or anything. She just sat it on the edge of the table away from me and walked away. The food was alright. The potatoes weren't seasoned like other First Watch establishments I've been too. Excited to try this place with the variety of options on the menu, however the food I ordered simply had no flavor. I got the traditional breakfast and after eating it, feel as though I could have made a tastier traditional breakfast at home. I want to love this place sooo much. I went when they opened and it was a zoo and the service was forgetful and orders were incomplete and wrong. It was still good and we figured it was newness kinks. The next few times we ate there the service was not so great, super long wait and not many people.,We enjoyed our food. Today i ordered delivery since i don't feel so great and didn't want to pick up or leave the house. The bacocado omelette had 2 tiny pieces of avocado... thats it. The omelette was loaded with bacon(good thing) and some cheese. The biscuits and gravy photo they have up is deceiving since it is pictured as a meal, biscuits is a single biscuit with almost a half a cup of gravy, stingy. Lastly the link sausage was cold- the coffee was small and they didn't add creamer as i requested. When you dine inside you get a large container of coffee for the same price, y'all should adjust the price to reflect the way lesser amount one recieves. Horrible service. The hostess did not great us with a smile. Our server was weeded the entire time. He forgot my straw and my lemons. I think he had six tables which was too many. When bringing my food he forgot the syrup with my pancakes. Other tables were offered coffee which we were not. I ordered the biscuits and gravy which came out raw sent it back. Which by the way I had to flag down another server because mine did not check back. My hot sauce bottle was completely empty. There were several dirty tables not pre bussed. The server was more concerned with leaving on time rather than giving great service till the end. He did apologize about my meal. When leaving out didn't get a thank you, bye, come back or anything. Food & service was great. The Works omelet came with a side of greens and whole grain toast, and all were very tasty. Perfect breakfast and exactly what I wanted. Previous visit had the Carnitas Burrito which tasty and very filling. Since it was Sunday morning, had to wait on food to be served before I got my Bloody Mary. :( The waffle is also excellent. So this is a new restaurant and has the training staff still there so I will not say much about the service as it is still in the process of hopefully getting better. It was really confusing who the wait person was as several people tried to take out order even after we were served our drinks. But again kinks to be worked out. The atmosphere is ok very loud and the chairs are uncomfortable. I am sure the booth benches are nicer. We are inside but patio is small and fenced off. I didn't know what to expect as far as food cause never heard of the place but thought let's try it as driving by and seeing it. Well it is one of those semi healthy places. I mean who doesn't have regular sugar for your black coffee and the coffee is tart so needs some food sugar not stevia or sugar in the raw (only options) so bring your own if you come. I ordered the French toast. It was very good - two large pieces but make sure you ask for syrup cause apparently it doesn't come with it only some fruit compote (bleh). I also ordered a side of the roasted potatoes. Again a good size portion. I think I might be a potato snob cause these were just okay. They were very dry and had a little too much onion taste. Hubby ordered the biscuits and (wait for it) turkey gravy! What in the tarnation! It looked very nasty (sorry don't have pic) he said it was okay (I was not about to try it) he also had 2 scrambled eggs and bacon. The eggs came out like it was made in a poacher and boiled but he sad they were light and fluffy and decent tasting. The bacon (not the million dollar bacon just the .10 cheaper one) was dry and hard. Don't suggest it unless you like your bacon over cooked. We got there at 9:30 left at 10:20. You pay at the front the cashier staff were nice and it went pretty fast but there was a line to check out - again new place so learning the register. I've been a few times now and have tried to really like this place but for all of its efforts to be great I still find it so consistently disappointing. I had to on one visit actually call the restaurant from the patio to ask for the check to be brought out to me because the male server was so non existent. Today's experience: Food runner walks up to table next to us (they've only been sat for less than 5 minutes) w/ 2 plates named the traditional platter. 1 w/ scrambled eggs and 1 w/ fried egg (same as our order but the fried egg was hard and not runny; I asked for over medium & both have bacon; we also asked for sausage) the runner leaves the plates and is gone just like that. When the server comes to the table to check on us she assures us that this is not our order because it's not correct and that our food would be right out and takes the plates away... (( 2 minutes later)) server for the table on the other side of the first table comes out from the kitchen with THE SAME TWO PLATES of food that SAT ON OUR TABLE!!! When our food arrived my eggs were also not cooked to order & the cashier was put out by having to process our card for us to pay out. We'll not be back anytime soon. I tried liking this place but they can do better Our server was great but that was completely dwarfed by the fact that once food is left at a table it is dead. Had breakfast at First Watch this morning. By the way, I got on the "wait list" on Yelp about 8 minutes before arriving and being added to the waitlist by the hostess, and we got our table faster through the hostess list. Arrived around 10:30am and our wait was less than 15 mins. My lemon ricotta pancakes were pretty good and very very big (2 pancakes). Husband's Farmhouse Hash was really really good. Waitress was very nice and service was fast. Prices were good. Will be going back. read more

Great new location! Enjoyed brunch here last Saturday. Our server was wonderful and everyone looked happy to be at work. However, our order came out wrong and then took a very very long time to get corrected. We tried the Million Dollar Bacon (too sweet), the Summer Crab Omelet (needed more seasoning and was a little small) and the Elevated Egg Sandwich (small). We decided to try it since it's close and in our neighborhood. We arrived at 10:05 on a Saturday. They host said it would be a five minute wait so we decided to stay. He was very friendly. Actually, the wait turned out to be nonexistent, so we were seated almost immediately. The waitress took our order around 10:15. 30 minutes later we finally asked another server to please check on our food. The food finally arrived 5 minutes later. The food was cold, but my wife was so hungry she decided to go ahead and eat her food. I sent mine back and waited another 10 minutes. During this entire time, the manager never bothered to come over to apologize. They did comp the check. The waitress did the best she could under the circumstances. Great place for breakfast and lunch and love the healthy options! So glad it finally moved into Lake Highlands! I had the market veggie omelet and it was very fresh and cane with a side salad. I also ordered chicken sausage on the side. My kids loved their maple bacon and waffle with a side of fruit. We also enjoyed the Kale Tonic juice. Don't waste your time until the staff gets their act together. We put ourselves on the wait list and arrived when recommended. We were told they were going to seat us and then, I overheard the manager tell the hostess that they were running an hour behind and not to seat anybody. I asked her, "You were just about to seat us. Does this mean that you now expect us to wait for an hour?" Her answer was, "yes." She then said that she could seat us outside at a table but, it would still be an hour before we got our food. I have eaten at four other First Watches and they have all been great. They finally put one in my backyard and after 3 attempts to eat there, I have yet to be successful. I came in during lunch hour and after 35 minutes, received my eggs Benedict. That was the highlight. The eggs were hard boiled and the potatoes ranged from overcooked to still raw. The refire was at the opposite end of the spectrum, with runny egg whites and uniformly tepid potatoes. The waitress was courteous, sympathetic and nowhere to be seen for most of my experience. I will give this location one more try, because it's close to home and I want some salmon Benedict. But the results so far are not great. read more

This is the second First Watch I've been to. I wasn't impressed with the first one and am unimpressed by this one. Our waiter, Arturo, clearly didn't want to be there and was never taught that the customer is always right. My friend ordered the avocado toast and I ordered (right after her) the chicken avocado chop salad. There were two others friends with us. When the food came, he placed my friend's food down- the avocado chop salad. When she said that she ordered the toast, he said, "Well, that's what I heard." Then served everybody else. No attempt to make it right. My salad had maybe two thinly sliced pieces of chicken on it, with two or three thin slices of avocado, and looked like a half salad. As we were checking out (separate checks) and three of us were waiting for the fourth person to finish, a manager said to another employee, " You need to make those ladies move so you can sweep." Today was the third time we tried this First Watch location, two of the three times we had to send food back because the server/cook got the order wrong or because the food sat around after it had been cooked so long that it was totally cold by the time it hit the table...today they managed to be wrong and the food was cold. Service has taken at least 20 minutes each time we have been there (all at 10am) to get our food. While I can acknowledge the restaurant was busy...the wait times on food and lack of attention from the waiters means we won't be coming back. A little fine-tuning needed at this otherwise pleasant place. My breakfast bowl was tasty, but arrived on the cold side. Having seen other reviews that say that FW re-makes your order rather than heating it up, I decided to not say anything until check-out. I didn't have time for a re-make, frankly. Manager: Talk to your kitchen and wait staff about this, as it appears to be an issue. Glad to have this chain nearby. Service was pleasant. And I like the menu.
