I was invited to attend this yelp event by my partner. I just love hanging out with the elite Yelp folks as they are very friendly folks. Now to my review of First Watch. All I can say is that their food was fantastic. We did not have anything to say about the quality of their ingredients. I'll recommend ordering their Pancakes and avocado toast. Also you should try their ham and gruyer melt sandwich, it's to die for. Be sure to ask for the hibiscus lemonade. They do have a very friendly staff and will accommodate you when needed. I've been here twice and both experiences were just Meh... The prices are pretty high, like I got an omelet and coffee and it was $15. And everything on the menu sounds good but I wasn't blown away by any of the food I've tasted there. The eggs in my veggie omelet were overcooked and the vegetables were just on the inside, not incorporated into the omelet like I prefer it (that's just my taste though!) My friend said her avocado toast was just meh too. Also! My toast wasn't browned! It tasted pretty much like bread! The thing that makes toast TOAST is the browned part caused by the mailard reaction and the fact that it wasn't there annoyed me! Plus I didn't even get fresh jam, it was packaged. And just one package too, which doesn't cover the whole piece! I don't know, it just wasn't doing it for me. I do have to say that I appreciate the music, the vibe, and that they don't make you pay extra for subbing gluten free toast or egg whites. Service was just okay. She didn't ask if we needed anything until everyone was at least halfway through the meal. And she said her name to us three times. I don't think she was paying much attention. You have to push through people standing and the line to make sure you get to the host stand 5 minutes after they text you. As far as Brunch and Breakfast goes this place is my favorite in the area and people have certainly caught on. Be sure to use the Yelp feature to be added to the waitlist if you are going on a Saturday or Sunday. As you wait, you can help yourself to FREE coffee or cucumber water. The location is great, plenty of parking. The interior is minimal and well-kept. Love the repurposed wood, milk crates, and other decor. I've ordered several items and never been disappointed. Food always comes out hot and presentation is spot on. Everything tastes fresh. The Skillet Hash-Market is my favorite. Comes with a side of fruit and toast with strawberry jam. It's a nice hearty meal. Also really enjoyed the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes and the Floridian French Toast. The customer service is always great too. First Watch is great breakfast/brunch option in the Fort Worth area. The food is almost always really good. Weekends get very busy - expect 30min to 1hr wait. That being said...the last few experiences I have had with the restaurant have been a bit concerning - the reason for the 3 star review. Concerning experiences: 1) Cold brew. I ordered the cold brew and noticed a lot of small cardboard looking pieces floating around the bottom of my glass. I showed the waiter and he had no idea what it was. I was given a new glass with no cardboard floating pieces. Still have no idea what that was. Makes me wonder if the cardboard pieces were in the glass before the cold brew was poured in or was in the batch of cold brew... 2) Market skillet hash. I normally always order this. This dish includes egg, potatoes and veggies. Its a great vegetarian choice. However the last two times I ordered this I saw bacon bits mixed in. Not just one or two...many. I picked the pieces out...but I could see how this would be a MAJOR issue for strict vegetarians. 3) Not a huge concern...just annoyance on carelessness. My friend was given an extremely bent fork. To the point where is was almost unusable as a fork...I have no idea how the staff overlooked it...it didn't even look like a fork! Advice: Love the menu, love the ambiance, love the food.
