This was my first time visiting Keke's Breakfast Cafe. I was curious and so I dropped into the Trinity Commons location. I was impressed by the atmosphere, the service, and the food. I was greeted promptly at the door. Anthony was my server and very friendly and helpful. He noted that it was my first time and made some recommendations about items on the breakfast menu. Keke's Breakfast Cafe was such a cute find! Zero wait time when we got there, which is always a great start. We ordered a salad, some pancakes, and I got the chicken and waffles with spicy syrup, and it did not disappoint. The Carolina chicken salad was nice and crisp, exactly how a good salad should be. My chicken and waffles were the star of the meal though, the chicken was perfectly crispy and the waffle was nicely toasted with just the right amount of crunch. My only "complaint" is that I ran out of syrup, but honestly that's a me problem since I have a serious sweet tooth. Our first time at Keke's, but not our last. This is a cute breakfast/lunch spot that has pancakes, scrambles, omelets and sandwiches, depending on what you're in the mood for. My husband got the the cheese and steak sandwich. I got to build your own scramble with scrambled eggs, feta cheese, onion, bell pepper and mushrooms. My kid got the chocolate chip pancakes. All of our food came out quickly and our waiter Elias was very helpful and answered all of our questions. The prices were reasonable and the portion sizes were very nice. They were busy and don't take reservations so definitely would recommend getting there early or at least trying to find a seat inside or in the shade while you wait for your table. read more

We loved it! We came here for the first time early on a Monday morning. Lots of open seating. We were seated, with menus, in a booth and a server was out with waters right away. They have a lot of breakfast options so it was hard to decide at first. Our server, Anthony B was great. He was well versed in the menu, restaurant operations and his knowledge helped us decide on our breakfast choices. This was a cute little place in trinity commons with patio seating and indoor seating designed to feel like a patio. The staff were lovely but the line was quite long an hour before closing on a Sunday afternoon so we had about a five minute wait and then five minutes more because we didn't see the text and no one called our name. We got a wrap and a scramble bowl that were both incredibly delicious and filling and mimosas and the blackberry sangria. We got two entrees and five drinks for $70. Came alone on a Saturday early afternoon and was seated without a wait. When I first stepped foot inside I would say that the appearance of the restaurant is more of that of a chain breakfast diner. You know, for the amount of time we waited to get a table at this place, I really expected more. I also had several people recommend it, and if I'm being honest, I was disappointed. We had to squeeze six adults into a booth meant for four, so there wasn't much room for anyone to eat comfortably. The server was nice, but I think she had too many tables. There were tables that were seated after us (with different servers, of course) that ordered and received their food quickly. We had to wave down a different server to get ours, and our server did not check on us a single time. We also did not get consistent quality between dishes. Three of us ordered a waffle dish, and they were all cooked differently: one was cooked normally, one was undercooked and cold, and one was overcooked and hard as a rock. Decided to try this place out this morning. Since I'm an early riser I find myself looking for breakfast spots often. This place was good with one hiccup. Please add an avocado toast to the menu. Service from our waitress was fantastic. The coffee was very good here which is a big hit in my book. Got the waffle with bacon and a 3 egg breakfast combo. Waffle had great flavor and the bacon was cooked perfectly. My 3 egg combo had very flavor home fries and the sausage links were good. The scrambled eggs were VERY under seasoned. The cook is playing a dangerous game cooking scrambled eggs on a flat top for efficiency. If he gets busy he can overcook the eggs easily. However a little salt mid way of cooking the eggs won't kill anyone. Overall this place really seems to shine on Waffles, Pancakes and French Toast. The menu really pushes it too. I had a very good experience at Keke's Breakfast Cafe for brunch. We walked in around 9:00 am on a Sunday and were able to get seated immediately. The entire restaurant is bright and airy with a nice coastal feel. Our server, Alex, was great. He was prompt, efficient, attentive and polite. Our food came out quickly and was correct. The menu is expansive with lots of options and the pricing is fair considering the portion sizes. Parking is easy to find as there is a huge lot out front. Servers are quick, give great recommendations, and return just when you need them. Food arrived in just the right amount to confirm that everything is handmade! Coffee is awesome! We tried Keke's for the first time yesterday, and for as long as we waited to get in, I was expecting so much more. The staff was painfully slow and seemed uninterested--getting a smile from anyone was impossible. The food service was ridiculous. Items came out one at a time on separate plates--one plate for a single piece of French toast, one small bowl for grits, one plate for eggs with bacon just tossed on top. By the time the table was full (or rather, overflowing with dishes), most of the food was already cold. Since we only ordered water, I guess our waitress decided refills weren't necessary. After we paid, she disappeared completely--we never saw her again. The worst part? We ended up with food poisoning. Considering the cooked food was already served lukewarm, I can only imagine what the temperatures were before cooking. Cold atmosphere, unfriendly staff, slow service, and food that literally made us sick. This was hands-down the worst dining experience we've ever had, and we will never be back. read more

It was a long wait for a flat burnt and surprisingly undercooked Belgium waffle, slimy unseasoned egg and all fat undercooked bacon.

The service was horrible. We had our niece and family for breakfast. Their 2 yr old is good but any child is going to get wiggly. The waitress took awhile to take our order. The coffee juice and milk took 10 minutes . How long doesn't it take to pour 4 cups etc.? The first plate delivered was an omelette toast potatoes etc. A-good 3-5 minutes for an English muffin, bacon and an order of grits. a couple of minutes later Eggs Benedict . The child's scrambled egg still hasn't been served.!!! A large blueberry pancake never arrived. 30 minutes later I told the seating host to cancel the pancake. He said he would check on it. Another 5 minutes later, brings the pancake and said he would take it off the bill! The whole meal should have been compt. $5+ for scant cup of plain grits? They need more people to clean tables. A table a cross from us remained unserviced for 10-15 minutes. As we left, I saw 5-6 tables unserviced with people standing at the door. I only saw 1 lady cleaning tables!! Relatively expensive food with lack luster service isn't going to make it. read more

Stood for no less than 15 minutes and had atleast 6 employees walk past and was never greeted or asked for my name, was completely ignored. I Finally flagged an employee and was told that" my order" would be out soon. They never asked for my name or order? Staff was completely inattentive and when the "orders" arrived they sat them on a table and walked off; no verification of name, ONCE AGAIN absolutely no effort to greet or acknowledge us customers that had been standing for 15+ minute.
