Great food & great service! We were seated immediately mid day on a Friday. Our waitress gave us coffee immediately. We thought it was free because she didn't even ask if we wanted coffee. Regardless, she was very attentive and nice. The food was amazing. I ordered the you pick 2, with 1/2 a ham & gruyere cheese sandwich & a honey pecan salad. The salad was much bigger than I thought, made me think how large a full portion would have been. As soon as we sat down, we were promptly asked if we would like coffee and like the caffeine slaves my friend and I are, we loved this! Our server was super sweet and was patient with us since the menu was quite large and got us to go boxes and silverware, since the portions were generous. In all of my years of being a food critic, I have never experienced anything like today. The employees are phased by colored people, as a colored person being starred at for 15 or more minutes is not the best way to welcome customers especially if you're eyeing them up and down. As I and two fellow colleagues sat there waiting for a table we couldn't help but notice that others who came in after us had already been seated at a table. Why is that? Color of the skin is why? Multiple others who were barely walking in got a table before us as well until I stood up and asked for help. To make others feel welcomed and comfortable in a local brunch spot should be a top priority. First watch needs to train their employees in diversity and train them on how to treat all people the same. Thank you. read more

Fantastic. The place was hopping busy, buzzing with plenty of patrons and not an empty table in sight. We took advantage of joining the online Waitlist. Once seated in a cute section away from the door, which only took a few minutes after we arrived and checked-in, we ordered coffee, water, the Parma and Farmhouse Skillet. I requested my skillet without potatoes or toast. Our terrific waitress, Kimberly, was kind enough to offer a substitution of avocado and blueberry muffin which I gladly accepted. We also ordered grits which were said to be excellent. Being from Texas, we know grits, and they got a very favorable review. One entree came late so the manager came over to apologize and took it off of the bill. Yep, we were very happy with his place and they had good coffee. Never disappoints, the food is always fresh and yummy and always friendly service. Love the avocado toast (they have a good gluten free option) and they have really good salads too. I had the salmon on a bagel special and was very surprised at meal once it arrived. they did not skimp on the salmon and the bagel was crispy. I had a favorite place before finding this one (Our Place), and it's really good, but First Watch blows them out of the water. I ended up getting the holiday special because it sounded so good. It was beyond good. Like, to die for. The bacon was thick, tender, and cooked perfectly. The Parmesan cream sauce made my knees weak, and the eggs were poached to perfection. Someone in that kitchen gets a kick out of making people wanna slap their mama. My husband ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes and he also closed his eyes while chewing the first bite. Ripe strawberries, lemon cream straight from heaven, and the perfect amount of ricotta inside each large pancake made for a breakfast he won't soon forget. He almost stabbed me with his fork as I tried to take a third bite. The server didn't bring us silverware (we found some up front) and she forgot to bring us water as promised. But we didn't even care. She could have physically abused us and we'd still come back to this little slice of breakfast heaven. Ha! Seriously AMAZING grub. I decided to go eat by myself for the first time and I chose first watch because I love their avocado toast. I was so excited to eat here and wanted to sit outside, so the host took me out there and said the server would be right there. I am the only person outside so you can imagine how embarrassing it was when no one ever showed up. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited 10 minutes, but after that I got up and left. It was not busy whatsoever and I got seated right away, so there is no excuse as to why no one ever showed up. I will not be going to this location again. Maybe try the new location. read more
