Granted, I don't eat a lot of pasta, and even fewer cream sauces, but it sounded soooo good and exceeded expectations! He enjoyed the crispness of the hand-stretched crust and quality toppings. Cody was our server and was simultaneously handling all the drink orders with occasional help. He was a good server for someone pulling double duty. What made the day super sucky (until dinner) is that my guy's father had passed away in the hospital after a recent cancer diagnosis. My guy needed to eat after days of intense worry and erratic mealtimes. And we needed some quality time together. Thank you, Osteria Mia, for making a dark day a bunch brighter.

Then the "manager" came up and rudely asked us what was wrong. And then she explained this is their policy and there was nothing she could do and that they would get our table ready one the entire party arrived. Why wouldn't they get our table ready while we waited for our party? Why once everyone was there? I understand sometimes people say there is more people than actually come but we were nice and honest about our party and kept them up to date on their arrival and they were still rude. So once our whole party arrived they finally started to get our table ready while we waited another 10 minutes. I understand policy, I get it. But it was the rudeness in which they went around it and the fact that we were waiting for ONE PERSON. Not half the party. We almost left because of their actions. Luckily our waitress was amazing and very sweet. She got our food in right before the cut off for the week night deal and was very helpful.

I went to lunch with a friend and she took me to this location of First Watch on Happy Valley Rd. I can honestly tell you it was a fantastic experience. I have never been in a restaurant where all of the employees act as if they are managers and truly care about the clientele and want to make you feel as though you are part of their regular customers. I felt as though they all would remember me if I ever went in again, which I fully intend to do. I live in Surprise, but I will travel to feel this experience again. I recently brunched at First Watch and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The server was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, making sure to answer any questions I had. We shared a plate of the Million Dollar Bacon and it was a perfect blend of savory and sweet, would highly recommend! Firstly, the location could not be better. Very close to home, making for a fantastic alternative to making something ourselves at the end of a too long work day. We've been waiting for a good pizza joint in this area for about 20 years and this one finally gets the job done, above par at that. No surprise, we most often hit this place up for their pizza, and without exception, it has always been among the best we've ever had, certainly the best in this part of town. I'm a huge fan of the BBQ chicken pizza, which is hands down the best tasting, well executed and consistent that I've ever personally had. The crust is thin, but not too thin, the cheese is spot on (not too much, and not non-existent, two of my pet peeves) and the ingredients are always top quality. Chicken, in particular, tends to be hit or miss at most pizza places, but not here. Always fresh, perfectly cooked and well portioned. I honestly do not want for anything else in a BBQ chicken pizza. On the rare occasion that we're not in the mood for pizza, we've both dabbled in their other Italian fare. Wifey has nothing but good things to say about the bolognese and I really like the chicken piccata. Super flavorful and just the right portion size. We've also sampled some of their appetizers, including the spinach dip and the wings (in various flavors) and they've never disappointed us. The spinach dip is always nice and hot, creamy and almost decadent. The wings are good size, well cooked and very flavorful. Service is generally pretty good, unless they're particularly busy, in which case it can slow down a bit. I can give them a pass there, as I'm happy to see them succeed and while I've been left wanting, I've never felt full on abandoned, and things usually pick back up. Everyone has always been friendly and courteous, often acknowledging that they recognize us from prior visits. That's important, because it's an indication that they actually care about their customers. Props for doing better than a lot of your peers in this regard, because it's rare to see even at places we frequent. I would offer one suggestion, and that's to perhaps offer pitchers of water at the tables on the patio in this heat. I don't mind the heat, but running out of water while snarfing on pizza, wings or spinach dip can be a drag when it's over 100F out there. The misting system and high walls/curtains are great, don't get me wrong, but of all places to run dry on water, you really don't want it to be outside and around the corner where nobody while notice. I'll close this out by saying this is our new favorite and go-to pizza place, hands down. The quality of the food, the consistency of the preparation and the great service are what keep us coming back, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for above average Italian fare, especially the pizza. I ordered the Gorgonzola and walnut salad along with a cup of the bean kale soup with a side of focaccia. The bean soup was fairly underwhelming taste wise as well as texture. I am gluten intolerant and ordered the side of focaccia. What I recieved was a card size piece of GF (I hope) white bread that was barely toasted. I've had their focaccia before and this was not focaccia. In as much as I appreciate their efforts to serve the greater celiac/IBS and other GI disorders, the food could be tastier. The other locations seem to have it together. It may take driving to the other locations to get the quality of food they are able to produce.

I come…read morein pretty often, and at this point they already know my order--coffee and breakfast ready to go. That kind of consistency and attention really means a lot. Jennifer, Lavessa, Mikki, and Karin are always so welcoming, and even when it's a different crew, they still take great care of me and know exactly what I like. The food is always on point, and the service makes it even better. This has become my go-to spot to relax after studying in the morning or to grab breakfast before starting my day. By far the worst staff in the way they treat customers that I have experienced in a long time. My…read morepickup order was missing items from it, which could have easily been taken care of with a simple adjustment to the bill over the phone. They chose instead to place me on indefinite hold by placing the phone down on the counter and ignoring it. I waited for 10 min, then hung up and called back. They did not answer. I tried 15 more times. No answer. I then drove down there, knowing they were busy they might be willing to deal with me in person since not on the phone. They were rude when I walked in. The manager lied to my face and said he was unable to adjust an online order. I informed him I have worked in the industry and know better, he said he would need time and would try to get to it by 3pm. I told him I would give him the benefit of doubt and wait to see if he actually did it. The reason I am leaving the review is not based on if he actually adjusted the bill or not, it's because the entire ordeal could have been avoided all together with a civil conversation on the phone. He and his staff decided to go the other route. I will not go to this Denny's again at any point in the future. UPDATE: 3:00 pm Cooper the manager called to let me know they made the credit and it will appear in my bank account depending on my bank's rules in a certain amount of time. It took a lot of arguing and sifting through, quite frankly never had to escalate this far, but in the end he finally did the right thing. He also invited me to try the location again, we will see about that one.
