My wife and I tried the new First Watch in Goodyear on Saturday for an early Fathers Day breakfast. We got seated at a wobbly , dirty table and waited about 10 minutes hoping someone would greet us, ask if we wanted to get started on coffee, or water or something. But unfortunately...nothing. Lots of servers and staff walking around but not one stopped by to say"welcome". We got up and left and told the hostess on the way out the reason we were leaving. I don't think she really cared nor did she ask if there was anything she could do. Just a blank stare. I can't imagine how service was the following day for Father's Day breakfast !! For a new restaurant opening in the fast-growing Goodyear Square, one would think the management could do better! Because word of mouth and bad reviews can be bad for business. We do not recommend First Watch -Goodyear. And why doesn't Yelp have negative stars? read more

Wanted to really like this place, but sigh... the good: omelette was good fancy potato's (forget the name) was good, salad tasted very fresh, and initial service was great. But.... Pancake with granola rather dry and not overly tasty. "Million dollar bacon" is overpriced for moderately think strips of bacon with some honey glaze drizzled on them. Sandwiches were ok. Cornbread was dry. Service started out great, but then, well, nothing until the end. When water isn't refilled during the meal at all, no coffee refreshes; nothing. Did get very nice to-go containers and brought plenty home - not a good sign usually. Oh, and cold! Bring your sweater! Drafty where we sat - perhaps better sitting elsewhere but we all froze! Saw some folks sitting outside on patio but didn't see any misters going. Weird. And construction right across the street with a lot of dust so be aware. read more

While I love the fresh healthy food, the cost has increased and the portion sizes are smaller. I always get the market hash and there is a lot less on the plate than the last time I went yet the price increased. Disappointing. $40 for 2 entrees and a kids meal is ridiculous. Best omelet me we have had in years! Our first time here, won't be our last. Chile Chorizo omelet for me, my wife had the Works omelet! So dam good, fresh, fluffy, amazing! Thought our omelet would just come with potatoes, it did not, comes with a very plain salad, which I didn't eat. We had one pancake to try, also very good. Also tried the Honey butter biscuit bites with jam. Not my thing. Very dense, not fluffy, my wife likes them this way, me not so much.I love that they leave a coffee pot on your table, abd a bottle of cold water too! Had to wait for a table, on a Friday morning. Worth the wait. A little noisy, people talking and hip music playing just a bit loud. That being said, we will definitely be back! Simple place, laid back, staff is very good. Parking can be tuff. 1st visit at this location. It was FREEZING! I had to get up and wait outside while my hubby waited on the bill to arrive. I ordered the Honey Pecan salad which I highly recommend. The dressing is sweet so I'd also recommend you order it on the side and add as needed. Our server was very nice and friendly, but unfortunately my husband had ordered the Cobb salad & soup and she put in an order for the Honey Pecan salad. This First Watch location has been open about a month. We arrived at 10:25 AM on a Thursday hoping for a smaller crowd. The restaurant was packed and we had about a 20 minute wait for a table for two. It's a nice modern restaurant and I didn't pay too much attention to the decor as we were seated. We had to wait 5 minutes or so for our server to greet us at the table and ask for our drink orders. Other than that, service was excellent. We placed our drink and meal order and were surprised at how fast the food came out. I had the eggs Benedict. I didn't care for it because the eggs were barely cooked. Very runny whites and of course runny yolks. Eggs Benedict are supposed to have a "set opaque white and a warm runny yolk". The ham was cool to the touch. My wife had the lemon ricotta pancakes (which is her favorite dish at First Watch). These were good. We'll likely be back, but I probably won't order the Classic Eggs Benedict again. read more

Oh my GOODNESS this place is amazing. I was so pleased with my food. The food was LITERALLY AMAZING. You could tell everybody there was having a good time. The restaurant also has such a nice vibe to it with all of the open windows. The waitress was so sweet and attentive to our needs. I would like to praise & recognize Celeste. I left a review the other time & was actually for Celeste. I was confused with other person (she was very nice too). Celeste provide excellent service to us again last Sunday. My honest opinion, so far from First Watch service & food, we are very much satisfied. Other employees are very nice too. Week before Sunday a gentleman who served us at bar counter also was very nice. Like l mentioned other review, Celeste handles the job very seriously with professional manner. It makes us more enjoyable... The last visit, we tried other foods, Monterey Club Sandwich & Baja Turkey Burger & they were very good. I ordered the lemon pancakes which were tasty enough that I didn't need any maple syrup. The service was ok, but it did take 15 minutes to get our order taken and then 30 min to get our food. Went to this location today in hopes of another delicious meal but, instead of getting my normal eggs Benedict I chose to try the new Barbacoa chilaquiles bowl. It needs work. Very little meat for the price you will pay for this meal. Mostly was beans, egg pre bagged store bought corn tortillas chips and a tablespoon of what they call Barbacoa. After addressing the concern they comped me some more meat. In my opinion, Over Easy's chilaquiles are way better. On the plus side of today's experience, the chairs we sat on were very comfortable. The wait staff that we had was pleasant and understanding to the customers experience. The manager of this location was also understanding our customer experience. I hope in the near future as far as this plate is concerned they would refine this plate to be better. read more

Today I ate what most would call breakfast. I ordered smoked salmon Benedict I told the waitress that I wanted cheesy grits. She asked me if I wanted the salad that came with it. I said oh no just the grits. Low and behold, my food arrived no grits but a salad. It was bad enough that it wasn't right but my food was very cold I sent it back and just ate the grits, that took forever to receive.. Not to mention I ordered a coke, which they didn't have, I asked for ice tea, it took forever to get the tea. By the way the restaurant wasn't busy. My granddaughter ordered apple juice but got lemonade. My daughter ordered water and she received it but particles were floating around in it and the carafe was dirty. When we were ready to leave my daughter asked the waitress for a small box, she never brought it. My daughter ended up getting up and asking the busboy for one. This restaurant is in my neighborhood, I decided to give them a try. Food is too expensive for substandard service and food. I would not recommend. I ate a cup of grits and left there hungry. I have had great experiences at the First Watch locations in Peoria and in Tucson, so I was very disappointed with the customer service here. I arrived when the restaurant was not busy (at 12:50pm on February 12th), but it took me 5 minutes before I was seated. Then, I noticed an elderly Black gentleman who had arrived before I did, who was waiting patiently, but was not being served. A White family who arrived ten minutes after I did was seated immediately and was served immediately. I left without ordering even though I and my toddler were hungry. I will not spend my money here. The service is fine, the drinks are overpriced and almost require you to get a refill because they are so small.
