I was not going to drive back the 25 minutes I live away from this store but he did offer to replace it. So today I go in and order the seasonal brisket corned beef hash to go. I get it home and there is no brisket!! Come on. I tried to call but no answer. It's bs anyway. Who wants to drive 25 minutes back in traffic so they can get your order right. It makes me so mad! This place is excellent for healthier, more out of the ordinary options for food & drink. Plenty of classic choices with a twist. My go to meal is the Avocado Toast. It's so simple, but they don't ever skimp on the amount of avocado they serve either...it hasn't disappointed me. Alejandra was on point today, training a fellow employee in addition to waiting tables. She was quick to get me anything I needed and answer any questions. It's another 5 star review well deserved. We came in on a Saturday afternoon around 12-1, there was no wait but it was busy. Our server (Samantha) was awesome! My brother loves going out to eat and making the most of his restaurant visits so he often asks for suggestions on like specialty cocktails and food. Our server did not miss with her suggestions! He got a drink with kale AND vodka, (and some other blended fruit) seems odd but it was SO DELICIOUS. I got an iced coffee which was also pretty good. My brother got a chikichanga which she also suggests and it was BUSSIN. I ordered crab Benedict with potatoes, also hittin! The manager (Mia) came by and talked with us for a while we asked about specials ending and starting she was also friendly and professional. She could've died if she would've eaten that and I have PROOF. I went back and they just gave me a refund and offered me gift cards but that is not worth losing someone's life. Please be super careful because I don't want anyone to die because of a restaurant. My little sister just hurt her teeth from biting that but it could've been worse but now she is traumatized and said that she'll never eat there again. Tammy was our waitress and took great care of us! I asked for her recommendation for breakfast and based on my preferences she suggested the Morning Market Veg omelette. I loved it and happily saved 1/2 for tomorrow morning...if it lasts that long in the refrigerator! My husband ordered The Works with a side of cheese grits, and Tammy suggested the Millionaire Bacon. Wow! This place is delish! My girlfriends and I popped in for a breakfast on Saturday after leaving the gym. We got there shortly after 8 am, thank goodness, because a line starts to form to get in! We were seated immediately and our waiter was very friendly and accommodating. My vegan friend was struggling to find something to meet her needs & fill her appetite, but after a chat with our waiter, he was able to make some recommendations that fit the bill. Our food arrived hot & fresh. I stuck with the basics- eggs & sausage, with a waffle on the side and dang that waffle was good! I want to try their juices next time, and really everything on the menu sounded great! Our overall experience was great, and we look forward to coming back for our monthly girls breakfast! Such a great experience and meeting some new yelpers in the area! The staff was absolutely amazing and seemed very proud to be there. The food was so good! We had a better experience than many Yelpers. We decided to do breakfast for lunch. We shared the Tri-Fecta with bacon & waffle. The surrounds are appealing. Our server was pleasant and attentive, and the coffee was good. You only get two slices of bacon. It hard to screw up eggs. Our fried eggs ordered over medium were actually over well, but that's better than runny whites which we get often. The waffle was typical, but not crisp, which I like. I am a big fan of First Watch and have been to different First Watch locations in other cities and been equally impressed by the food and service. I've also had the opportunity to attend an event at this particular location, and the staff were very accommodating and friendly. I have been to this location multiple times since they first opened. Understandably, service was a bit slow the first two times I went because they were working out some kinks, but the staff was always very kind and sincere. One time soon after they opened I had been waiting quite awhile for my food and the manager was very gracious, going above and beyond with the customer service. Every time I've come the servers have been very quick and polite. I love how First Watch's menus gives you a wide variety of options, and how they also have seasonal special. I wouldn't come expecting a super fancy health food breakfast that will blow your socks off, but they do a good job of solid dishes done well. There are healthier options, slightly unhealthier options, and many in between. One favorite of mine in particular is the pesto chicken quinoa bowl. Their iced coffee is also great for any sweet tooth craving caffeine. Even between cities, I see consistency in their food, and I believe that the pricing is all reasonable. This is our second time, and won't be returning. Brief description of first visit: food was bland, small portions, big price. Today's visit: asked if they had Splenda for tea, was told yes, and then was brought stevia and told they don't have Splenda. Replaced with a water. Ordered lemon ricotta pancakes. The lemon drizzle stuff was like a thin icing/thick set sauce. Pancake was broken apart. Here's where the biggest issue lies: "Classic eggs Benedict" - ciabatta, ham, tomato, poached egg, hollandaise. 1. That is not what you think as classic, but okay. 2. Ciabatta was like rubber. 3. Of the 2 poached eggs, one had practically no white, and the yolk was to the side of the eggs Benedict as if it had just fallen off. The other was way over cooked, and not at all runny. 4. Hollandaise tasted like I was squirting lemon right in to my mouth. Absolutely disgusting. 5. Ordered it with the potatoes. The larger potatoes were undercooked. The smaller ones had a decent flavor. We were never offered any sort of refills. I did complain about the Benedict, and they took it off of the bill. Which is why they get 2 stars. However, no manager ever came to speak with us. read more

A friend told me about First Watch and how good the breakfast was. It did not disappoint. It seemed like it might be a little cramped and small but it wasn't (comfort is very important to me). It was surprisingly comfortable with plenty of room despite being quite crowded. There are not enough breakfast places like this in League City and Dickinson. We tried the Tri-Fecta breakfast, one with a pancake and one with the waffle. Both were excellent and everything was so fresh. We also added a side of potatoes and toast. The potatoes had a little onion with them, not greasy, just perfect. When we return, I'll get the traditional breakfast because the potatoes were the best. I will say it was a little pricey which will limit our number of visits. Small additions like toast and cheese on the eggs seemed a little high but overall it was definitely worth it. For two it was about 35 dollars. Next visit we want to try the millionaire bacon (Bacon with brown sugar, black pepper, cayenne and a maple syrup drizzle). Yum!!!!! There were many other choices besides breakfast on the menu as well as "healthier side" options. read more

I came here looking to see if they stepped up their game. They are a little better as far as service, and I was pleased to see a couple of frittata s on the menu. The salmon frittata looked interesting, so I ordered it without the tomatoes ( you'll see it's contents in the picture of the menu. It came with greens or potatoes, which I declined both. Coffee and milk in a glass( asked for and received) completed the meal. The frittata was good, salmon didn't disappoint and the chive sauce gave it a distinct flavor. We have been here twice. My wife really likes the specialty juices they have. Her favorite seems to be the Kale Tonic. I'm not a huge fan of kale but I really like this drink as well. Probably because it doesn't taste like kale. We have ordered several items from the menu. Today, we had the Baja Turkey Burger, Sweet Honey Pecan Salad, Chocolate Chip Pancake, and the Elevated Egg Sandwich. All in all, we like the food. It seems to be cooked with fresh ingredients. Almost every meal comes with a small side of greenery. My Baja Turkey Burger was brought to me without the dressing. I had to ask for it after I discovered the greenery was served without it. My son liked his pancake although he stated it wasn't his favorite. My wife had the Sweet Honey Pecan Salad but in the future will ask for her dressing to be on the side. She stated it was too overpowering in parts and not enough in others. Moving forward, she will order it on the side so she can use the desired amount as she eats her salad. She did like the overall taste of her salad. My daughter also liked her Elevated Egg Sandwich. My real complaint is the service. It's not horrible but it could be much better. For example, today, they brought everything out separately. My son and daughter (they are adults) both received their meals before us. I told them to go ahead and start eating while it was hot. About three minutes later, my burger came out. My wife did not receive her salad for another 5 minutes. It seemed like we were eating in shifts because we were being served in shifts. In addition, I noticed it takes a while for tables to be cleaned. This seems to add to the wait time to be seated. I got added the waitlist by clicking the button on Yelp. You have to be within 10 miles of the restaurant to be added to the waitlist. It will tell you how many people are in front of you. We checked in on Yelp and there were 10 parties in front of us. When we got there 15 minutes later, there were still 9 parties in front of us. We waited an additional 30 minutes to be seated once we arrived. This is a total of 45 minutes. I normally don't complain about wait times because it generally means the restaurant is really good. To me, it seems like some of the waiting could be minimized if they were better organized with the above mentioned things I observed. Bottom line - The food is fresh and good. Service could be improved. I'll give them a few more chances to get more organized before I decide to continue eating at their establishment. Bon appétit. read more

I had the truffled crimini mushroom frittata from the new Fall harvest menu and it didn't disappoint. Flavorful and topped with baby arugula with a side of fruit. This was the perfect size too. My husband had the pork chop with fried eggs, those amazing grits and he was so happy. The reason for the 4 stars is because our food came out separately and my husband had to wait for my dish to come out before we could eat. After the Yelp event and having poor luck at the Pearland location, my husband and I returned back to this location because we had such a wonderful time during the Yelp Event. This time around we ordered the Tri-Fecta, with a side english muffin, and the A.M Superfoods Bowl. Tri-Fecta (With Savory Chicken Sausage Patty):: The sausage patty is super delicious; it is by far my favorite item on the menu. The patty is sweet, its savory, super flavorful, every bite just makes you want more. Eggs were cooked perfectly and the Belgian waffle was definitely light and airy. I didn't realize my english muffin wasn't going to be toasted, so if you prefer them toasted to dunk into your ooey-gooey yolk, make sure to let them know! A.M Superfoods Bowl:: This bowl eats like a dessert. The first few bites can be a bit confusing, but when you keep going you really taste that rich creamy coconut milk. That being said, when you do keep going and get further into the bowl, it does get a little too heavy and rich. Paired with the whole grain toast with almond butter (which is also pretty heavy) you'll feel like you got a few tons added to yourself and can't quite finish everything. Not the best feeling to start the morning. Service:: Was a little unorganized. My side english muffin was forgotten so I couldn't start my meal alongside my husband, and our server came over to ask how everything was only to get an answer from my husband and not from me because my side wasn't there for me to dig into my eggs and sausage. Overall, good experience, friendly staff, some dishes are a risk and has some flaws. Stick to the "safe" items is my advice and definitely give their savoy chicken sausage patties a try! read more

Eaten here twice, and left full & happy both times. The first time I had the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. These come with marinated berries and creamy lemon curd served "mid-stack." However, I ordered this on the side because I wanted to taste the pancakes without it first AND to make sure I liked the lemon curd before I added it to the pancakes. These pancakes were WONDERFUL, fluffy and delicious! I had half with the lemon curd and half without simply because I could not decide which I loved more. [As a note, I would not consider the curd "creamy." But it doesn't matter, since it tastes yummy anyway.] The next time, despite loving the pancakes, I wanted to try something else on their menu since it all looks so good! So, I had the Skillet Hash - Farmhouse. (Alright, my husband and I shared a lemon ricotta pancake too. It was impossible to NOT have the darn thing, it is just that good!) The Hash was okay overall. I usually order potato with my eggs; in fact, I prefer it that way. However, in this dish, for me there was just a little too much potatoes to the egg and avocado. Maybe it was that the potato chunks were too big, maybe it was missing something else to balance it, maybe it was the seasoning itself. Whatever it was, the ratio was just off. Although I thought the dish was just okay, and I will not order it again, I do plan on trying one of the other Skillet Hash dishes next time (I'll update the review when I do), because there is no doubt I will be returning. read more

Our first time to dine in here and it was a good first impression. I got an egg dish (I think it's the floating egg thingy) and it was tasty. The side potatoes were on the spicy side but i didn't mind it. I also got the juice with turmeric and beets on it. I'm a juicer myself and this one pretty much measured up to my juicing standard. My kiddo had half a Belgian waffle (kids meal) and for a small boy like him, it was a pretty small serving that we had to order another sandwich for him. I would suggest serving a full waffle (NOT half) for the kids. For over $5 kids meal, I think that price can warrant a full waffle. Other than the size of the kids waffle serving, I have nothing else to criticize them for. Will definitely be back again soon other time. read more

We used the join the line app thing and were settled with in 2 min on a very busy day. Food was fast. Atmosphere is very casual. New favorite for breakfast. Can't wait till next time. This is my 3rd time here. It is a favorite. Food is always great and so is the service. Edit: 9/29/18 Today was our 7th or so visit. As we came in two large tables were sat and ordered before us. Therefore it took an unusually long time for our food to arrive. Our server Virginia was very apologetic and professional. We explained we come to First Watch for quality and quality takes time. So my thoughts on the soft opening experience at First Watch: We were greeted warmly at the door and seated promptly, even though it was obviously very busy. Teamwork was immediately evident, and we were served some wonderful complimentary coffee as they explained the situation to us. We were told that the coffee is responsibly sourced and proceeds benefit people in need at the source. It made the coffee even more delicious knowing that. It was definitely a soft open, as our waiter was a little shaky, but he tried real hard and did a good job overall. Our food arrived promptly and looked and tasted delicious. Everything was fresh and the flavors were bright and melded well together. I got the chorizo chili omelet, and the sour cream, pico, and avocado complimented the spicy chorizo and chili peppers nicely. The artisan grain bread was delicious with the fruit compote, and it was all accompanied by a vibrant salad. Everything was comped for us, but we were given the opportunity to donate to a good cause, and happily did so. The atmosphere was what Jose jokingly referred to as urban rustic. The distressed wood and the color palate were pleasing, and the collection of cast iron hanging between the kitchen and dining area were an interesting conversation point, along with the oak barrel inspired hanging lights. Overall we had an excellent experience here, and will gladly return once they're open and have had time to work out the minor kinks.
