--FYI, I was going to give this place 3 stars until I got the bill--- After hearing MULTIPLE times in a foodies group about FW, I decided to bite the bullet and join the waitlist on Saturday. Wait was 35-40 minutes. We only live 15 minutes away so we waited and headed over, arriving right in the window. We walk in and told we had to wait 10 more minutes, yet walk-ins were given tables right away. What was the point of joining the list if it's basically irrelevant? Anyways, we got to the table and our waitress immediately said "coffee?" and started pouring it. We reluctantly said "sure" and added the creamer on the table to it and looked at the menu. The coffee wasn't good at all -- very acidic and burnt tasting. We thought, "well, it's complimentary, right?" WRONG. It was $2.99 A PERSON. If we were told it would be a person/per container, then we would have reconsidered. It wasn't even on the menu to order hot coffee. I ordered the red medicine drink (cranberry, pomegranate, black tea, honey)--this drink was REALLY good. Refreshing, holiday themed, and perfectly balanced. I got the cinnamon chip pancakes and the hubby got the million dollar sammy. I asked for an over medium egg and before I could say what meat I wanted, she left. I assumed I'd get bacon since that's what the picture had online. I wanted to flag her down because I wanted to make sure that my pancakes weren't topped with strawberries (I have a severe allergy), but she didn't come back. I looked online again and saw there weren't any so I let it go. Food took forever and we were anxiously waiting the hyped up food. I looked at my plate, and I got sausage. I ate it because I was hungry, but it was frustrating that I didn't get to choose. Our waitress wasn't even the one that dropped off the food. I cut into my pancakes as she dropped off the syrup (yay for real syrup!) and almost choked on how dry they were. I had to put so much syrup on it to eat them. I knew I couldn't send them back because they were almost closed (it took that long) and I needed to eat. My egg was not over medium. It was over easy. I thought I could be picky about how I ordered my egg since they were a breakfast place, but they got it wrong. I also only got ONE crusty pancake and my dish was $12. Unreal. She didn't check on us until we were almost done. My husband said his sammy was good but he thinks he probably got my over medium egg on his sammy. Waitress dropped off the check, clearly tired, because it seemed like she was THE ONLY ONE THERE. I felt bad for her. She was snippy with the table next to us too because they asked for some extra toast and she gave it to them for carry out because "they were closing." I get it, but we are still paying customers. There were 3 hostesses and 2 expeditors besides her. Crazy to do that to someone on a Saturday. Unfortunately, it was too spendy for the service and food quality so it's a one & done for us. read more

I love the ambiance of this place, it's very busy however the staff are chill so it doesn't feel chaotic or rushed. The staff acted as if they were choreographed in a dance of perfect service. How many restaurants can you say that about? I had the carrot cake and pecan pancake and the loaded breakfast potatoes with a cream sauce and chunks of bacon... very yummy. Good menu with a nice seasonal menu. Atmosphere is casual and noisy. We were a party of 4 with two of us getting avocado toast, another the bananas foster French toast and the Al Pastor Taco Hash for myself which was delicious and a lot of food. We all split the millionaire bacon which was tasty if a bit overpriced for 4 pieces of bacon. Everyone really enjoyed their food and our server, Andre was very pleasant and helpful, professional yet friendly which is a rare combination in today's post COVID restaurant scene. I also got the Purple Haze fruit drink which was delicious. We were there at 9 with check in ahead seating and I'm glad because it was starting to get crowded. When we left, it was crazy busy! Restaurant is not huge so I recommend getting there closer to 7 when they open or be prepared to wait a bit. read more

We were visiting friends in the area and stopped a First Watch for breakfast on the way back home. Visually pleasant atmosphere but little or no sound dampening, so voices carried and the air was a cacophony of other people's conversations and the echos thereof lending First Watch the all sound qualities of a busy commuter railway station at rush hour. We had trouble hearing the waitress and conversation across the table between us was a challenge. They do a good job with food - we both ordered what they call a Standard Breakfast, 2 eggs over medium, toast, their signature fried potatoes (very good) and choices of sausage patties, links, or bacon ... all pretty standard, nothing complicated. Coffee comes in a thermos pot that they leave at the table. Water is delivered in quart milk bottles with glasses for two, in our case. It was pricey. Two of those Standard breakfasts, a diet coke and a decaf coffee with a 20% tip (because prices are not the servers fault, people!) set us back $40. I'm old enough that I can remember a time that I could get that same breakfast in a diner for $2.50 ... these days closer to $10 to $12 give or take for each of us for a total bill of $24-$25 for breakfast for two. I guess when you locate in an area that has cookie cutter houses on postage stamp lots selling for north of $1million, you make hay with the locals while the sun shines. read more

Had the chance to attend the soft opening back in May, but just now getting around to writing the review. They took over the location where Green Turtle used to be so it's a good sized restaurant with a patio area. I've been to the First Watch in Greenbriar so I was familiar with their menu. The ingredients are fresh and I feel like I am eating a bit healthier when eating here. Their service was good and they did a great job! We decided to give this location a try. We are used to the Fairfax overcrowded location. This location delivered in terms of food selection, quality and staff service. The dining space was open and they also have a bar area where you can eat. We loved that they leave a large carafe of water on the table. Their menu has lots of healthy options. I ordered this giant burrito. It had shredded beef and topped with guac and pico. Service was good. There's a lot to juggle but these servers came through. read more

Sat at the bar for brunch around 11 am on a Friday after a dentist appointment. Service was A+. The bartender/server was so helpful, friendly and attentive. The menu is cool, plenty of wide ranging options regardless of what you're in the mood for. Unfortunately the food is nothing special and I personally like Famous Toastery or even Silver Diner a lot better. The coffee, even though poured right from a silver carafe, was cold. The omelette was supposed to be spicy, but it was bland. (Luckily Cholula to the rescue.) It had almost no meat or avocado and was jam packed stuffed with... Shredded onions. I don't mind onions, but they basically sell an omelette that looks big then stuff it with way too much of the cheapest ingredient. The potatoes were very undercooked. Visited this location for the first time since it's opened. Pleasantly surprised by the ambiance. They took over the previous tenants green turtle space. The food was very good. I don't feel to heavy after eating here. I started off with the Kale Tonic juice which was very refreshing. My friend and I shared a side if biscuits and turkey sausage gravy. It was delicious. My friend literally licked the plate because he liked it so much. I ordered the short rib omelette and it was packed with flavor. Had a good amount of meat in it as well. The salad was a nice accompaniment. The service wasn't bad but could be a bit better. Overall, I was happy with the experience. Will be back! read more

My wife, daughter and I went for breakfast on 12/26/2022. The restaurant has a rustic appeal, although it's very noisy. We had the gingerbread doughnuts for an appetizer. They are served with a caramel dipping sauce and melted butter. Very tasty when dipped, I prefer the caramel. When eaten alone they lacked flavor. I didn't taste gingerbread. I would have preferred them sweeter. I had the works omelet, seasoned potatoes, and toast. The omelet was cooked well, filled with ham, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, onions and cheese. Very tasty. As much as I love cooked onions, I thought the onions in the omelet should have been diced and not cut haphazardly. The seasoned potatoes were very tasty, also with the haphazardly cut onions. My wife has classic eggs benedict with fruit on the side. The eggs were cooked perfectly and hollandaise sauce delicious. My daughter had the BLT with egg. The sandwich with piled high with greens, tomato, crispy bacon, and fried eggs. Very tasty. A bowl of tomato soup was served on the side. She said the soup was very tasty, although a little thicker than one would expect tomato soup to be. Overall, a very tasty, reasonably priced meal. I would recommend this restaurant. read more

Had a celebratory brunch here about six months ago with my husband. Ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes with lemon curd, million dollar bacon, and coffee. Husband had the farmhouse hash with scrambled eggs and artisan toast plus coffee. Both meals were good but pricey at a tab over $50 for the two of us. But the ricotta pancakes were especially moist, flavorful, and delicious topped with the lemon curd (instead of maple syrup) and strawberries. The lemon curd was outstanding which is why I asked for a little extra as I boxed up leftovers from two enormous plate-sized pancakes. Fast forward to today... Aware that it's a Valentines Weekend and Presidents Day tomorrow, we opted to get take-out for one order of the lemon ricotta pancakes and politely asked for extra lemon curd. Expecting something just as equally special as last time (albeit not eating it freshly served as before), we were sorely disappointed! The two pancakes had sloppy, overcooked edges (one pancake was generously sized while the other was about 1/3 smaller). Disappointed that both were dry overall and lacking the distinct and unique ricotta moisture that made them so good the first time. There were only 8 pieces of quartered strawberry for two pancakes (that means two strawberries). But the real problem was barely a tablespoon of lemon curd in each of the two condiment cups! Something was terribly off, because even a busy day shouldn't affect a signature dish that noticeably. Could have been the result of a recipe change (which would be a real shame). Could have been someone was pressed for time and didn't get the order right or someone in the kitchen misread the order. Could be whoever did the cooking thought no one would notice and swapped out the ricotta pancakes for regular ones to save time and/or money. Who knows? But if you're going to charge $14 for pancakes -- they better be good. And for goodness sake -- don't ruin the best part by skimping on the lemon curd!!! Sadly, we won't be back again. read more

But we experienced discriminatory treatment by a server ( Tomeika) during our visit there on May.18. And I immediately returned the gift card I had just purchased that day. The food here is absolutely phenomenal! Great place to eat at. Makes me feel like I'm in a farm house eating a great brunch. All their ingredients are from local farms and organic. The million dollar bacon is a great start for those that love pork. Their service is great and the staff is awesome! As a regular, I get treated well because they're more than just a waiter/waitress. They're people making a living and I respect that in this day in age where all people do it complain about everything and talk to some of these waiters/waitresses like they're beneath them. Summary: the cost was lower than I expected based on the other times I have been here: the food was good; not great; service was slow; the restaurant was very loud; if you are not asked if you want "real maple syrup, ask for it! The syrup at the table is very bland. Be prepared for a little bit of a wait on Sunday mornings, unless you're a small party and are lucky enough to find a spot at the bar. Full review: My daughter and I didn't like the options for Sunday breakfast at home (and we felt too lazy to cook for ourselves), so we decided to go out. I had been to First Watch before, so I knew my daughter would like it. Their seasonal menu had a couple of items we wanted ti try: my daughter ordered the iced peppermint mocha and I ordered the ginger donuts. She said that coffee was better than the hot version she normally gets from Starbucks, if you like peppermint mocha, then this is a delicious option. The donuts were good, but between the two of us, we didn't eat them all to save room for our food. Daughter had the French toast and I had a combo meal. Her French toast looked good and she said it tasted good as well (not as good as the French toast at the Vienna Inn, in her opinion). It didn't come with any meat option; she stole a piece of my bacon as a result! (Tip: Order a side of bacon, if you have bacon bandits with you). The portion size was really big (she was able to eat half of it) My breakfast plate was decent as well. However, only the bacon was perfect. I had a few minor bothers: The eggs were garnished with chives and parsley, which I liked; but, the a bit of the garnish made its way into my pancake; I would have preferred separate plates to avoid the commingling! There were not enough blueberries; I like to able to have at least one berry per bite. The blueberries that were present were great! Lastly, I grew up in Vermont and have high expectations when it comes to Maple Syrup. I was expecting deliciousness as they brought out a warm bottle of what looked like Maple Syrup. As I ate, I didn't notice very much maple flavor. It was so bland! I ask my daughter what she thought and she agreed and said "sus". Based on the color, I was expecting Grade A Fancy (like virgin olive oil, this is made using the sap from the earliest run), which is my favorite! Extremely sweet and mild maple flavor. I mentioned the lack of flavor to our server (after we had finished eating). She said that we had used the maple syrup made for First Watch, and that they offer "real" maple syrup for a little and additional cost. I was confused by this; what is the difference between the house syrup and "real" syrup. She said she didn't know; based in the flavor I figured the watered down real syrup with simple syrup or just water. Since we ordered some pancakes to go, plus we had leftovers, I paid the extra cost for "real" syrup. When we got home, I found that the had included a few packets of their house syrup in addition to two tiny bottles of "real" syrup. The "real" syrup was significantly darker in color; it looked to be B grade syrup (which is my dad's favorite). I gave it a taste test and it was clearly superior to the syrup we had used. Even better, the packets of the house syrup had an ingredients list! It turns out Maple Syrup/maple sugar were not listed, so unless it was listed generically as "natural" flavor! read more

I'm going to give an extra star just on the possibility my next visit will be good. I'll start with the good- the place is spotlessly clean, the menu impressively expansive, and the decor pleasant. I ordered the waffle- which was great. The bad: our waitress was so off putting. We were one of only two tables there and she acted like she was super annoyed we were bothering her. She brought my waffle without syrup then promptly vanished. I asked someone else who also vanished and 10 mins into my meal I finally tracked another random server and asked. Our original server came back with the syrup. Not a -oh sorry I forgot - nothing. I got the impression she was irritated we didn't know what we wanted 8 seconds after being seated then another 1 minute later when we asked for a few more minutes. Let me tell you as a long time former server, the only acceptable answer to that is.. absolutely please all the time you need and let me know if you have any questions about the menu- not walk away all irritated. Price: coffee and a plain waffle $19.50 oooookkkkaaaayyyy? I mean it's a waffle - seemed steep to me, but it's not IHOP-you pay a premium for premium ingredients. They advertise real maple syrup so I can grant they a mark up on that. Lots of things on the menu looked yum so I'll be back and I can shrug off the Server- we don't know the burden people carry around- maybe her cat just died IDK, I hope not ofc. This location easily distinguishes itself from others purely with the excellent quality of food served. Easy to find and abundant parking available in the area. They use to get you in line through google but now you have to do it through the website. During rush expect the wait time to be more than estimated in app. They do accommodate walk-ins. Ambiance is nice, wooden seats are hard, get the booth seating, table height is decent and atmosphere is a bit loud. You also get a view of the kitchen for some of the tables. Food is excellent and consistent. Overall it will leave you satisfied. Menu has a lot of items to select from. You're spoilt for choices. Pancakes are amazing. Million dollar bacon is a must if you eat it. Juices are nice but morning meditation wasn't up to mark. Cures the hangover thirst. Service and friendly staff will make it a good experience. Everything was a Cluster F. No AC. Floors were wet. They seated my handicapped dad and I next to the kitchen. Floor near kitchen was wet and slippery. Falling hazard for my dad. I was on the waiting list and was told my reservation was next to be seated but then the hostess proceeded to sit 4 other people who were not next in line in the reservation system. The ladies restroom was filthy. Floors wet and muddy. No toilet seat covers. Paper towel dispenser hardly was working. The soap dispenser at least was functional. First Watch is one of my favorite brunch spots. Being a chain, I was a little skeptical at first but First Watch delivers every single time and at every location. All of their dishes are packed with flavor and loads of fresh ingredients creating the perfect balanced meal. They also have so much variety on their menu that you can try a different dish each time. My favorite dishes to date are the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes (no longer seasonal), Market Veggie sandwich, and the Tomato Basil soup. So this time we got all of our go-tos and tried the brand new and seasonal blueberry muffin top griddle cakes! The Lemon Ricotta Pancakes are no longer seasonal so go get them NOW! They're some of the fluffiest pancakes I've had and pair so well with the lemon ricotta cream and strawberries. The dish holds the perfect amount of sweetness and is super filling. The Market Veggie Sandwich also always satisfies. It's made up of house-roasted crimini mushrooms, zucchini, spinach, pesto, mayo, and mozzarella cheese on grilled artisan whole grain. This time the market veggie was much creamier, which was unexpected but super yummy. The sandwich is light yet filling and pairs super well with their basil tomato soup. It's creamy, savory, and chunky, making it the perfect addition. The blueberry muffin top griddle cakes were so sooooo good. It comes as three house-baked, butter-griddled blueberry and cinnamon streusel muffin tops, topped with warm mixed berry compote, blueberries, strawberries and blackberries, housemade granola, and powdered cinnamon sugar. It literally tasted like a muffin top with berry sweetness. The granola was the perfect touch since it added a crunch and texture to the meal. They were super fluffy yet filling. I also added a touch of their warm and fresh syrup to tie the meal together! Hot take, it was better than the lemon ricotta! We also ordered a side of their breakfast potatoes which were awesome. Other than the food, I felt that the restaurant was not very accommodating in regards to reservations, large parties, moving tables, birthdays, etc. The food was phenomenal but the staff and treatment just wasn't it. It lacked basic salt and seasoning. The eggs were cooked perfectly though, so that's a plus. We also got the waffles, which were fine. The service wasn't great. The server brought our food, but never came around to check on us. We needed syrup, which didn't accompany the waffles, and we also wanted to order a side of bacon. So I'm a regular to First Watch wherever I can find one. Been to the San Antonio one about 5 times. Been to several in different parts of Virginia but my first time to this location. And since I come a lot I always order the same thing. Well, you can tell by my plate on this one where they have cut back. When I used to order the omelette before, I always got 2 full slices of toast. Now you get a corner of bread. Used to get more potatoes and now they don't even wash the dishes. This is the dirty glass they put on the table. How could you not see that? Then why would you bring us waffles and pancakes and not bring syrup. At least the food tasted good or I would never come back. But to this location, I don't think I will. I'm used to you over delivering expectation and experience. I came here last Saturday but the wait was like 90 minutes and there was an irate woman yelling at a female manager about the wait. I do wanna add that the manager handled herself sooooooo well. They don't have white sugar packets which I think is weird and I asked a few times for different creamers but she kept forgetting 4. The kitchen made our appetizer at the same time as our entree. Either that or she forgot to put it in. Either way, we sent the pumpkin donuts back because we would have had to rush to eat it and watch our food get cold or eat our food and watch the donuts get cold. Either way it wasn't gonna work. Finally made it to the new Leesburg location. The space is light and airy. Unfortunately it follows the trend of noise for its own sake with no sound absorbing materials (upholstery, carpet, ceiling tiles)). So it can be pretty loud inside. I had 3 items and each was very tasty. From the special fall menu, I had the pumpkin spiced donuts. They came with creme anglaise and salted Carmel apple butter. Yummy! I had an order of Million Dollar Bacon - 4 strips of bacon with brown sugar, black pepper, cayenne, and maple syrup drizzle. Very tasty, but only 1 of the 4 was crispy as I requested. What's brunch with an adult beverage? I had an AMAZING Cinnamon Toast Cereal Milk - coconut rum, cold brew coffee, coconut milk, and agave nectar. With a cinnamon swizzle stick. Very like a White Russian - and served in a cute bottle. Also very reasonably priced at $8. Service was good but not great. I think they may be understaffed as so many restaurants are. Was told it would be ready for pickup at 10:00. Got there at 10:00. No order. Asked about it at 10:15. Was told they were bagging it as we speak. Order finally showed up on the shelf at 10:30. 15 minutes to bag it? Sounds more like an excuse for more time. They had at least 4 people handling the host station.l almost bumping into each other. Maybe they should have the kitchen overstaffed as well. It only took five minutes to get home and all the food was room temperature or cold. My pancakes looked and tasted a lot like soft eggs. Was excited that the place opened up around here, went on a Tuesday Morning, the Hostess and Server were super attentive, nice and friendly, the 3 stars are for their service and the ambiance(given it opened new, not much a big deal I guess) The food was not good, potatoes were under cooked, bacon was i-don't-know-what-to-say, chorizo was nowhere to be seen and this is all in one-dish and I can go on, unless they get better at this I highly doubt people would return, looking the reviews out here already read more

Wow! This place is fantastic!! We came here for brunch! And had a WONDERFUL experience! The staff is absolutely amazing and helpful and we loved every moment! The food was great and atmosphere great as well! We had the French toast and potatoes from the specials menu and it did not disappoint. The manager Adam really takes great care of this place and runs it well! We had a loverly experience and will certainly be back! Our servers were Maria and Jessica and they were FANTASTIC! They had nice smiles and made sure to take extra good care of us! read more
