Short version of review: this is a good breakfast/brunch spot. Make your reservation online ahead of time, it's a very popular spot. Online res system is super easy, and we were sat immediately upon arriving. Good food, fast service, even for being packed. Long version of review: We went on Memorial Day morning, it was PACKED, as it has been since they first opened. Using the online reservation system ahead of time made it extremely easy, we were sat as soon as we arrived. Staff was super friendly. I ordered the avocado toast and cheese grits, and my wife ordered the "trifecta" (eggs, sausage and a pancake). I enjoyed the avo toast, eggs were cooked perfectly and the bread was tasty. The trifecta was a classic breakfast sampler, was a bit on the small side compared to what you'd get at a diner, BUT, I think that's on purpose since this restaurant really tries to offer people healthier/fresher breakfast and lunch options. The cheesy grits were on par for what I'd expect and would definitely order any of those items again. I've seen a lot of crap reviews about this place that aren't fair (some even saying they didn't get a chance to eat at the restaurant lol). Listen, they've been open for a week. Is there some room for improvement? Absolutely. Is this a 'one star' place with horrific flaws? Absolutely not. It's great for a quick, reasonable breakfast/lunch that isn't terrible for you, and give them a dang chance to work out some of the kinks along the way. read more

We had gone to FW in Chantilly and waited a long time to get in and it was worth it. This new location in 5 minutes from where we live in Leesburg and better laid out. Just went today Tuesday weekday at a non-busy time as a treat for the family to kickoff the holiday week. Seated right away, plenty of room in restaurant. Similar vibe to Chantilly location. Great, prompt service. I had a egg sandwich w/o the bacon since I'm vegetarian and it was great, meet my expectation of fresh, tasty ingredients with a nice bun. Others had the standard fare breakfast options and my wife had biscuits and gravy which were good. Coffee was left at the table so we could do our own refills. Parking was good but I'd imagine when it gets crowded it probably overfills into the wider lot. Great addition to my hometown of Leesburg. read more

If you have memories of the Greene Turtle here and, well, they probably weren't great - you'll be pleasantly surprised by this First Watch. Completely redesigned on the inside to match a Famous Toastery like vibe. Food was great - I had some breakfast tacos that were full and fresh with not too much to eat in one plate. My other half had a sandwich that looked of the same quality. Service was also great, and awesome bonus - you can pay at the front! This place was good when they first opened, slowly the food quality dwindled, now it's just inedible and the service sucks. I ordered take out the past two times I visited this Leesburg location. First take out order I was told was not ready and sat and waited. Received my order 20 minutes later and when I say OLD CONGEALED FOOD, I mean you literally could turn the box upright, or hang it on a wall and the eggs and grits wouldn't move an inch. I called for a refund and was told I had to wait until Monday during specific hours and ask the corporate office to refund my money. Seriously? After the quality of the food I received combined with the amount of time I spent trying to get a manager on the phone, now you want me to do it all over again and call your corporate office? Who by the way answers the phones less than you do. Second take out order today pushed me to leave this review. I received notification from first watch via text that my order was ready, arrived to pick up the order and the host said it would be 10 to 15 minutes, having gone through this before I asked the host to please check the back and she found my order sitting there - do they not have food runners??? Got home with my order to find , once again cold food that had been sitting for god knows how long. Missing gravy on my Biscuits and GRAVY, missing side of bacon, BURNT ham and raw cold English Muffin. Plastic looking scrambled eggs, not sure when those were made? Looking like last week. I am DONE with the Leesburg location! I just called to have the biscuits and gravy meal refunded and a man with a very strong accent answered the phone and I explained the issue, he told me he "was BUSY!" And hung up on me. I called back and no one answered, so I had to call back from a different cell phone number before they finally picked up the phone for me again. Supposedly the manager is refunding one item, even though everything was disappointing. Did I say I'm DONE with First Watch Leesburg, VA?! They are a waste of time and money. From what I can tell there is an option for outdoor seating in the warmer months. I ordered a standard avocado toast and egg with bacon, the toast was perfect and the egg was cooked well. My family and I have come here for brunch a few times and we have not come across any menu item that we did not like. For those who love avocados, I definitely recommend the Avocado Toast that comes with an ample amount of avocado spread. The Power Quinoa Breakfast Bowl is another favorite that has a bunch of wholesome ingredients and is delicious. Service-wise, like some of the other reviewers mentioned, is a little hit-and-miss. On a lucky day, you get a server who is cheerful and attentive. But I've also come across servers who did not look interested and almost felt that they tried to look away from us when we needed something. Food was good, but service wasn't. There was a new server in training she did a great job, she's new and I don't blame her for the mistakes she made. Her trainer Lily is supposed to be her shadow, we sat down and after 10 minutes later we got acknowledged!! The new server took our order but she messed up on it. We ordered A sandwich with NO bacon, and an over-hard egg in it, it came with bacon and no egg. My wife is allergic to bacon. That's why we made sure to let them know not to put bacon in it. Well, the first time I went when they first opened was pretty good like the boca raton location I used to frequent. Since then, the quality of the food preparation as declined considerably. I asked for medium poached eggs with my Benedict and the eggs whites were barely cooked -- not even finished to an easy poach. The beans it was served with were also cold. Beyond that, the table I was seated at had a destroyed booth seat with a wooden plank protruding where my tailbone was. The hostess who seated us had an annoyed attitude and everyone working there seemed unhappy. It was incredibly disappointing and feel ripped off paying the prices they expect for the food served. I have no problem paying premium prices for food that is prepared properly and served hot. I don't review often, but the poor experience here warranted it. I won't be returning. At first I wasn't sure how I was going to eat it because it looked messy but I decided to just go for it. Sooo good...the hot honey added a little sweetness and smokiness that put it over the top. Absolutely wonderful breakfast spot! My dad has been loving this restaurant with their location in Chantilly and we have been meaning to go, but never got around to it. He was so thrilled to hear they opened one in Leesburg! Super quick drive from ashburn and we got seated immediately at 8:30am on a Friday. Super friendly staff and very professional. The place is BEAUTIFUL! Super modern farm-house decor with easy to read menus. Just the right amount of options and the juice and coffee are a must. Love the fall-inspired menu items and we will definitely be back soon. Even had to grab a to go order for someone when I left because it was so good. We were looking forward to enjoying my mother's 75th birthday over brunch this past Wednesday. I joined the line on their website which was very helpful. We still ended up waiting for 15' but no big deal. What was VERY disappointing is that after we placed our order we waited an hour and 12' and our food that NEVER came. After asking for an ETA we were told by another server that our meal will be out in 5'. Well that never happened. We ended up leaving after an additional 10'. Been waiting for another solid breakfast option since both Eggspecations and Bob Evans closed and I think we found it. Ambiance was great as was the service. Our server was Attentive and Knowledgeable. We started with their signature bacon dish which was great. I miss the bacon from Yummy Pig and this was a good substitute. Shawn had the seasonal hash which was good but my Chickachanga was amazing! I also had the seasonal Watermelon Juice and it was delicious. First Watch has delicious food. I have only eaten there a few times both here and in Naples Florida. I mostly like that the nutritional facts are available- It's fairly healthy eating. Loads of sodium but eating out is usually always the case. I especially loved a special I once had of Whole wheat toast , avocado and topped with crab. Fresh fruit bowl on the side. It was delicious. I periodically stop for their Kale Tonic to go- all Whole ingredients & no sweeteners added. The one in Florida is closer to me and I get the tonic 1-2x a week. Staff is pleasant & accommodating. I've been going to First Watch locations in Florida for years and was very excited for the Leesburg location to open but it was a slight disappointment while visiting today. The food was for the most part very good. We ordered the Elite Corn Hash, the Bananas Fostered French Toast and the Million Dollar Bacon. I'd order everything except the bacon again which was overly peppered. We've had the million dollar bacon before at another first watch location and it was excellent so maybe the chef just accidentally dropped heaps of pepper on top? The service was fine. Our server was new so there were minimal recommendations and talk. I totally understand since this is a new restaurant. The biggest problem was that the establishment was a mess. I passed 9 empty tables with dirty plates/cups/utensils on them on my way to the bathroom and back. It was as if no one was bussing for a while. We were eating at a 10:30am on a Monday so it wasn't overly crowded- no excuse for such a mess. We watched the two tables directly next to us sit with dirty plates on top for 20 minutes. We watched the busser wipe down the table, put down clean coffee mugs and LEAVE THE DIRTY PLATES on top! Also when we finished our meals no one offered to take our dirty plates and instead just handed us the check without asking if we wanted anything else. And In the bathroom there was no toilet paper on the roll and the garbage was overflowing onto the floor with napkins. So would I return? Maybe, but not for a few months when things seems to be running more smoothly and cleaner. read more

Pros: The food is not complicated and they use fresh ingredients. I've never had any problems with their staff and they've always gotten my order right. Cons: They seem to enjoy annihilating their bacon. Seriously. More often than not, you get these blackened strips of bacon that may have been passed through a volcano before arriving on your plate. Completely awful today. I LOVE this place, it has some of the best Sausage gravy around, but after today I'm not so sure about coming back. I walked in around 11:25 am, saw tables available clean, most were full of leftovers from previous customers and a host Zach not only looked like he didn't care but proceeded to sit a table of 2 and two tables of 6 well after I came in and sat there waiting until 11:45 am with a table of 1. These were not people that were waiting with me. They were fresh walkins and I was not willing to sit at the bar. I got fed up, asked to speak to a manager. She sent a waitress came over to see what was happening and finally sat me on a table that's been available for 10 minutes. She sat me, Just a side of Sausage gravy and biscuits with ham that didn't come until 12:07 pm. You should see this place, half of the tables haven't been bussed. While I understand that no one showed up today for bussing, the tables are staying dirty for well over 30 minutes, you all are struggling, and someone needs to do something about this. Opening week. Really long wait. About 60-90 minutes. No problem. Gave number, went shopping, came back when they called. Hostess and waiter both super friendly attentive and kind. Not a fan of chains but we are in desperate need of brunch spots around here so decided to try. Interior was super open and modem. Even commented to husband that maybe I could be converted. Unfort food was a real miss. Kitchen was clearly not organized. Ok, first week. It could be forgiven. But... food just wasn't good either. So let's recap so far: So we arrived at 10:15 am or so. Finally sat down just before noon. And got our food at almost quarter to 1. Took about 40 minutes for our food - with some tables that arrived after getting food before us. But after waiting 40 min for food, my brunch was such a disappointment. Cold. Poached eggs were hard boiled (even tho I specifically asked for a runny poach -as it should be but I ask just to be sure- Bc eggs Benny is so good when it's done right and such a bummer when it's done wrong). Hollandaise was like a sprinkle. Barely any. Bacon wasn't good quality. Had a very gamey taste. Just a total let down - especially after waiting, all in, about 2.5 hours to finally eat. Wanted to be a converted fan of First Watch. But I'm not. Sorry. I don't get the hype. Didn't get it in Florida and don't get it here. This isn't good food. read more
