We went at a time that wasn't busy so service was speedy and our waitress was attentive. The food was very good. The kitchen was a little backed up when we got there, but the server made us aware of that right when we sat down. The ambiance is good. Let me preface this review with: my boyfriend introduced me to First Watch and he's NOT a breakfast fan unless it's from First Watch. I first came to the Kildeer location and fell in love, the Oakbrook location was just as amazing. The staff, the quality of food, the service, all above par. I live about half an hour from either location but am more than happy to go to both! The avocado toast while simple is amazing. The toast, the citrus flavor in the avocado, the amount of avocado on it, just divine. We always get a carrot cake pancake and top it off with some million dollar bacon. I dream about this bacon. I usually get the cinnamon toast milk, it's a perfect blend of sweet and alcohol . I've recommended First Watch to several people and I'll keep on recommending it! read more

I was hungry, nothing new, but wanted to try a new breakfast place. Was lucky it wasn't busy, so ran on in for a table. Ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes, which were so good! The lemon was sweet and tangy and I ordered some million dollar bacon, which were also sweet but slightly peppery too! The only downside was the churros, there very tough to chew. Incredible breakfast place! My partner and I had a lovely breakfast and fully enjoyed our experience-I had the trifecta and ordered a side of the seasoned potatoes. Not only were the potatoes and eggs PERFECT in all ways, my waffle was fluffy and not overly sweet, served with a warmed strawberry preserve! This was my first time coming here to celebrate my moms bday and lemme tell you, we both enjoyed our breakfast quite well. The ambiance is nice, moderate noise, bright sunlight coming through the windows, seating is comfy, and our server Marissa is kind of attentive maybe because it was busy but she was very kind. :) it can get busy on the weekdays so be mindful during rush hour. Also the coffee is is delicious. They leave the entire pot on your table in case you want more. Overall, I enjoyed my time and will try it again. read more

We visited for the first time on Sunday. It is a very busy place so be prepared to wait for a bit. We arrived at 12:30 and surprisingly, we were only on the waitlist for 33 minutes before we got seated. Definitely worth the wait. The restaurant is clean, the staff is friendly, and the windows bring in so much light. Love a bright place to eat breakfast. We had the tri-fecta (giant chocolate chip pancake, sausage and cheesy eggs), breakfast tacos, a banana granola pancake, and the chickichanga with chorizo and chicken. It was all so delicious. Update from my last review of First Watch Oakbrook: Went back this morning and had a terrific experience. Our server Mariah was excellent, very friendly, quick to refill drinks, knew the menu well and made great suggestions. Personable, the kind of server you hope to have - friendly, engaging and attentive without being overly pushy or not understanding when you want to enjoy your meal. We will definitely ask for her section again when we return. I had the short rib poutine hash (seasonal) and my husband had the Market Skillet. We both had spicy bloody Mary's. Drinks were good, the million dollar bacon strip included is phenomenal. My hash was savory and seasoning was blended perfectly. Husband enjoyed the market skillet with pick de gallo added to it. Joined the waitlist virtually before we got to the restaurant and we're glad we did. They were busy but things moved smoothly for those on the waiting list. Can't believe there would be any negative reviews for this place! Tried it for the first time today and we absolutely loved it. I would classify it as a more modern / healthy breakfast place but they had a great mix of healthy / traditional items. Our waitress Mariah was super upbeat and had great suggestions- pretty much all the employees we encountered were happy and seemed to like their jobs. The food was fantastic and the entire place was so. Clean. Even the bathroom was pretty much spotless which is nice if we have to change our baby in there. Food was good. Service was good. I had been there in December and service was very very slow but much better today. We were seated in a small room adjacent to the dining room. 4 tables of 2 and a 2 with 2 toddlers in that room. The music was so loud, two of us could not carry on a conversation without shouting and repeating. We asked for it to be turned down and were told it was as low as it would go. We are not hearing impaired. Other tables were just on their phones, giving up on conversation. In the corner, two women moved to sit next to each other rather than across so they could speak into each other's ear. I was never so glad to get outside In the main dining room the music does not seem quite as loud, tho conversation there is still challenging, I remember. Service was okay. I came here for breakfast with my mom and 2 year old son. We were not offered a high chair when seated and had to grab one ourselves in the corner of the restaurant by the bathrooms (not a huge deal but I kind of thought it was standard for employees to at least offer). The interior is really clean and pretty, love the vibe. I appreciated how spaced out all parties were, until about halfway through our meal, the hostess seated a family at the table right next to us when there was so many other empty tables in the restaurant. This made us feel really uncomfortable since it's not like COVID is near gone yet, and we scooted ourselves down to make as much space between us as we could. We weren't given water either, had to ask for it halfway through the meal (again I thought this was pretty standard for all tables to get water at the bare minimum and not having to ask). Food took longer than expected, given there were barely any people in the restaurant at the time and the place seemed fully staffed. Food was pretty good. Pancakes are huge and really tasty, no complaints there. All the servers and employees were really nice, just wish there was more sense of urgency and a little more care when it came to things like water, extra plates, and being a little more thoughtful when it comes to families with small children. For all that is listed, I can see this place being a major attraction to the oakbrook/hinsdale locals, regardless off the staff. Did I mention the staff? Ugh. The staff is primarily younger (tweenish) with a peppering of most likely someones grandmother. All of which were very aloof, unattentive, and impersonal. Mer a friend there to catch up with an early breakfast, around 7:30 am. I ordered the bacado omelet, my friend ordered a breakfast skillet and we shared a Belgium waffle. The food was ok, but the service of our waitress was awful, to say the least. First, there was only 1 person eating in the entire restaurant and this waitress decided to seat us at a small booth...why? I asked to be moved to the bigger booth. Next, she brings us coffee cups and as she's pouring coffee in my friend's cup, she rests her hand on the top of my coffee mug! Yeah. Additionally, that same waitress brings me a decaf carafe and rests that same darn hand around the top spout of the carafe...are you kidding me? I was ready to leave, buy my friend was really hungry, she wanted this place for her breakfast treat so we stayed. I didn't want to complain because our food was being delivered by this lady. Needless to say, I didn't drink the coffee and barely ate. I told the person about it at the front desk. If it hadn't been for my friend's bday meet up, I would have updated management and left. Don't miss out on their cold brew iced coffee, MILLION DOLLAR BACON, and their amazing lunch special for $8.99! My sister and I came here for our first time today for brunch. We were really excited to try this place out, and being in the service industry we can be quite particular with our food and service. Let me tell you, from Jeremiah greeting us by holding the door open and a big smile on his face which we can quite easily see even under his mask to The Mo Show (Mariah) with her menu knowledge and outstanding personality to every single item that came out. Based on the other reviews, it's confirmed that my experience seems to be the norm and consistent with the other guests. Along with the others I have chosen to give 4 instead of 3 stars (-1 for service and -1 for food prep), since this is a new diner in this part of town, I hope the owners will take this and the other reviews to heart. Phoned in to confirm seating arrangements and was greeted with a friendly voice. Came in and the host was also very friendly, she's great. Once seated, no water was provided, not a single Busboy ever stopped by our table to provide a carafe, or take any empty glasses/dishes. Food took way too long to come out, and this was already after lunch rush. Service from all three waitresses that helped our table was unenthusiastic, lackluster, and borderline unfriendly with a dismissive attitude.
