Very impressed with everything. Coffee as soon as we seated and it was busy. Waitress was on point with everything. Thanks to the chef for fabulous ham/guyere sandwich and tomato basil soup. Hostess was so gracious and left her podium to open the door for us using canes. I will definitely return. read more

We were a party of four adults and one child. The place was quite busy, especially considering that it was a mid-week morning. My son and I tried the Shrimp and Grits for the first time. We both feel that the dish fell flat and I am certain that it was because the grits were made without using salt. My granddaughter had a side of grits with her breakfast and she had the same complaint. After grits are prepared without salt, for some reason salting at the table doesn't help. I tried... On the complementary side First Watch has outstanding bread. My Shrimp Grits came with a bread stick the was fresh, warm, and just the right amount of crunch. I stole a piece of whole grain toast from my daughter-in-law and it was very tasty! Service was great. The place is spotlessly clean. read more

Place stays busy - But everyone works hard... Food is great - they have an amazing menu - which they switch up seasonally. Their specialty non alcoholic drinks are delicious and refreshing - For me "Morning Meditation' is my staple anytime drink. Coffee is fresh and you get your own kettle... [ I love this so much ] I travel for my business and they have FW conveniently located - Sometime you may have to wait - but believe me: it is worth the wait! Enjoy! read more

This is one of my favorite breakfast spots. Cozy atmosphere. Clean. Bright. Always busy on weekends. Food is fresh and tasty. The million dollar bacon does indeed live up to its name. The new beet and goat cheese toast is mouthwatering and fresh. It pairs well with the blue booster or morning meditation juice cocktails. The avocado toast is another winner in here and one of my faves. And you absolutely have to try the lemon ricotta pancakes!! My husband took me to breakfast yesterday and I ordered the Tacos Al Pastor Hash. I apologize for not posting a picture of my meal. The dish itself was very good but it did not look like the picture on the board outside the restaurant. It consisted mostly of potatoes with 2 sunny side up eggs, 2 tiny slivers of avocado, some drizzle of crema, sprinkling of Cojita cheese & maybe 2 spoonfuls of the pork. I had to lift up the eggs & move potatoes around to find the pork. I was disappointed. I don't like to send food back. It was tasty but it was mostly eggs & potatoes ‍ It wasn't even crazy busy either so I was really disappointed. There are so many good mom & pop places to try. Will not be going back anytime soon. read more

First time here today with my wife. The food is as good as advertised. There were so many good options. The food was fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. The place was packed from the time we walked in until we left, which was about 90 minutes. The staff was so polite even though they were so busy. Thanks to Yelp for this jewel along the path south on 75. The Veggie Burger was one of the best we've had around the country. The mix of brown rice and veggies and mushrooms made for a great tasting party. Stopped in for a visit since this is my mom's "favorite breakfast spot with the best waffles." My first time here and we showed up at about 930a on a Saturday Morning and we're sat right away which I appreciated. The place was busy but the service was excellent. We started off with some house made smoothies which were quite tasty and my parents got their usual waffles bacon eggs etc. All of looked great and came out quickly... and tasted equally as good according to my folks. I had one of the house items, the Chickenchanga, which was a very tasty chicken breakfast burrito of sorts. I wish I had a better description for it other than "Yum!" But it was truly different and hit the spot. It was reasonably priced, even had an outdoor seating area, so all around I would come back here for breakfast. A Much better option than Denny's, IHOP, or Waffle House. read more

My kid says this place is hipster. I have no idea about that, but the menus is definitely modern. Basic breakfast items in a fusion of styles and modern preparation. Many vegan and vegetarian styles as well as carnivorous ones. Service is good but better when not so busy. Ambiance is ok, pleasant and peaceful. read more

Great, attentive, and quick service! The summer blush and the farmhouse hash were delicious! I loved the avocado addition and the summer blush was sweet but not too sweet at all, so refreshing! The omelette was also great and they have such great toast, love the bread! The coffee wasn't great, but to each their own. I haven't been to this chain in years but it was just as good as I remembered. We ordered a variety of items and everything was delicious. I loved that they have a wide variety of things on their menu. You can get either breakfast or lunch depending on what you want. I really enjoyed my healthy turkey omelette and they had gluten free toast available at no additional charge which was unusual for a restaurant. I like First Watch for it's healthy menu options, but even more for updating a tired breakfast/lunch concept. First Watch is open only till 3 pm each day and understands it cannot be everything, to everybody -- all the time. It's not IHOP, Denny's, Bob Evans, or even the Waffle House. If anything they're closer to the Wildflower restaurant concept with interesting fresh baked breads and muffins. As one of my friends noted, she comes here for the "great service, and a clean, bright atmosphere and consistent food". I would agree. I had the Monterey Club which comes with turkey, bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato, monterey jack and mayo on multigrain for a reasonable $8.50. While my friend had the Breakfast Scramble which comes with spinach, ham and melted cheddar and monterey jack on multigrain toast. topped with hollandaise, also for about $8.00. Both were very good, well prepared and flavorful. Expect pay around $21.00 including tax, but before gratuities. We'll be back, enjoy! read more

We four friends go out for breakfast most Sundays. Today we picked First Watch. We had called ahead so we didn't have to wait too long to be seated but it was so noisy that it was hard to converse. The fork, in the wrapped silver-ware setting was stuck to the napkin because of...who knows...syrup on the fork? I'm guessing here. Tom & I both had Classic Eggs Benedict with sides of potatoes. And the broccoli was also delicious, also cooked with butter and not just boring and bland. Definitely not the healthiest of meals considering, but not the worst option either. My co-worker David lost his father recently and came into a grand inheritance. We spoke at work and he expressed that he wanted to do something nice for our fellow co-workers at our middle school we work at. He asked me where I thought we should go that was tasty and price didn't matter. I said let's give our business not to a big franchise but to a smaller business here in Ocala. We decided on First Watch Ocala. He called last week and let them know we would have a bigger group and the time we would arrive. He was told they could accommodate us. He arrived at approx 9:25am this morning. There were only 11 of us total. At approx. 10 am they gave us a booth up front for half of us and a table about 5 tables down for the other half of the group. We let them know we wanted to sit together and they looked stunned. They said then we would have to wait for tables to come available. We just waited over 30 minutes for these tables. As they were telling us this, they sat two people in the middle of a long booth that could have fit our entire party. We asked if they could instead sit those two people at one of the two tables they offered us, so our party could be together. They told us they couldn't do that and we had to wait again. Mind you this morning it was about 50 degrees or a tad bit lower. They asked if we could wait outside. We had already waited for the first two tables for 30 minutes and now we were made to wait again. Not wanting to wait in the cold, 3 of us ladies in the group waited inside to stay warm. About 10:15am the hostess asked if we could please go outside to wait because of social distancing. I said we have already been here since 9:30am, (David 9:25am) and it is cold outside. She then proceeded to tell me then I could go wait in my car. WHAT!? One there was no parking, so we had to park in the side lot a bit of a walk away and two, who treats customers like that? I instead stood there with my one friend as the others waited outside. The hostess then asked if I had a mask, which I didn't because we were all going to be eating together. At 10:25 there was no one at all in the lobby except us and we still weren't seated anywhere, yet everyone that came in after us had been seated. My friend David just wanted to bless his co-workers with a nice meal in memory of his dad and one lucky waitress today with a generous tip. This establishment sadly took his opportunity away to do that and treated us so poorly. We left at approx 10:30am and went to Mimi's Cafe down the road and had a beautiful meal. I was stunned by the rudeness today at First Watch Ocala and the obvious lack of concern of whether we ate there or not. The hostesses should be trained how to properly seat and treat a large party. This place is too pricey for breakfast (One of the most expensive in Ocala) to have horrible customer service too. No thank you. read more

Great place for some southern staples. We were a party of 6 and we couldn't resist ordering fried…read morechicken and catfish. Fried chicken was really tasty with a perfect crunch and juicy chicken. The fried catfish was breaded with cornmeal, perfectly crispy, also well seasoned and very moist and tender inside. The tartar sauce was homemade and very good but they also have a good peppered vinegar. Between us all we had an opportunity to try a lot of sides. Hush puppies which one of our hush puppy lovers said was the best she ever had (I'm not a fan of these overall so I can't really say). The potato salad was very good, creamy, with just a hint of onion and relish. Baked potatoes and sweet potatoes were enjoyed by all. Loved the crispy okra and green beans. Collard greens were also good. Of course, we couldn't leave without trying the pies. Caramel apple walnut was a little too nutty for me but it was still good. They key lime was my personal fave -- the crust was a good crumbly graham cracker that was definitely home made. We also had a lemon meringue and the chocolate coconut cream pie, which was essentially a half and half with chocolate cream and the bottom and coconut cream on the top. Both had beautiful, moist meringues with nicely toasted tops. On top of good food, we had a great waitress who was super attentive and very patient and friendly. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area and looking for some nostalgic, good southern comfort food.

However, they were very friendly considering our late arrival and I don't blame them for being out of the good stuff at closing time. Ordered a cherry pie the next day. It wasn't cheap but it was really good.
