It is a reliable breakfast /lunch spot in terms of menu, love the upbeat atmosphere and love to try the new health drinks they have. Had a mimosa there only once - it was only ok - but it's not what i go to first watch for - i stick w the kale tonic and morning sunrise. My breakfast choices are pretty standard: the skillet is great, and i regularly get the trifecta or French toast. Service is pretty reliable in terms of time to wait and attentiveness. Use the website to reserve ahead and wait less time. If it gets too busy, service timeliness relative to your order can get a bit off track, but they've always been quick to rectify mistakes. This place sucks the second we came in we had to wait 45 minutes just to be seated. Once we got seated we waited another 20 minutes just for the waiter. When she finally came we waited like 15 minutes for her to bring us our drinks. When she finally took our order we had to wait MORE THEN 1 HOUR FOR OUR FOOD. What was even funnier was that the table next to us came after we did and got their food ALOT FASTER THEN WE DID. The waiter may have been nice but the service was horrible. One more thing that we noticed that was the table next to us was a white family while we were a Hispanic family so this place might be a little racist. Overall not a great experience. We were in town to visit friends and on our way back to NC wanting to grab some breakfast before our 8 hour drive. We checked in online and notified the hostess shortly after who advised we would be texted once the table was available. After an hour waiting in the car with no text message we decided to go in to see how much longer the wait would be. To our demise the hostess could not find our name on the list. Fortunately she remembered my face and sat us next. Our server Tayler was very kind and professional. She also assisted my girlfriend with food allergy requests. Once we placed the order it took about another hour to get the food. Granted they were very busy. I ordered the salmon Benedict and an order of the million dollar bacon as my friend suggested we try it here. My GF ordered the Tri-Athlete. We also got kale tonic and morning meditation juices. The juices were delicious. Unfortunately that can't be said for the rest of the meal. First the million dollar bacon order did not come out and when I told the server she said "what bacon". Not ideal as we had already been here 2 hours at this point. I love eggs Benedict. It's usually my go to at breakfast places and make them regularly at home. I usually expect the eggs to be runny when cutting into them. Or at least that's what I think of when I think of a poached egg. The eggs here appeared poached at first glance but when you cut into them they had a hard boiled consistency and appearance. Did I also mention they were cold. The smoked salmon was tasty and the bread was soggy. My GF food also looked pretty sad. Also cold. The salsa she had on the side looked like either someone took 80% of it out or if someone grabbed the left over salsa from another table and put it on the plate. We immediately asked for boxes and the check at this point since we just wanted to leave and make our journey back home. The million dollar bacon finally made it out onto the table. Again cold and very sad looking. Four small thin pieces of bacon were presented on the middle of the table one of which was cracked in half as to emphasize our broken spirits at this point. Although the flavor was good, definitely not worth the $5 price tag. We were beyond done at this point and decided to leave. When the hostess asked how our experience was. I replied not great. I usually just say fine or good even if it wasn't but I just couldn't help myself in this case. She was very kind and apologized emphasizing that it's not usually this crazy. She was kind enough to offer us a coupon. I advised that we are from out of town and unlikely to be back so she used the coupon for this visit. Overall the staff was friendly, professional and had overall great attitude even in what appeared to be a never ending rush. However after having spent over 2 hours at this establishment and given cold food I would say the overall experience was disappointing to say the least. read more

My wife and I stop by here on Monday, Labor Day. We were able to get into a virtual line via the Yelp app. We didn't have to wait long, about 20 minutes. We were seated, and our waiter brought us coffee, and water. We took a few minutes to review the menu. I had a heritage pork chop, with fried eggs and cheese grits. And absolutely delicious combination. My wife had fried eggs with avocado toast. I had a taste of avocado toast, it was absolutely fabulous. The day we went, the place was rocking, which does two things. It backs up the kitchen, but the food comes out hot and fresh. Our waiter kept our coffee cups in our water glasses full. First Watch has been on my list of places to try, as I pass by one all of the time, but have never stopped. My boyfriend and I decided to stop in for a late breakfast/early lunch this past Sunday. Unfortunately, I didn't see that you could join a wait list through Yelp prior to arriving, so our wait time ended up being about 25-30 minutes for a table. We ordered fairly quickly once we sat down since we were starving. I opted for a half cobb salad with a cup of chicken wild rice soup (their soup of the day) and my boyfriend got the farmhouse skillet hash. When our food came out, I received the wrong salad which had to be sent back and redone. My boyfriend's skillet hash was not very warm, and the poached eggs were overdone. He decided to keep his meal and just eat it as is because he was too hungry to wait. By the time my salad and soup came out correctly, my boyfriend had devoured the majority of his meal, so we mostly got to watch each other eat rather than eat together. However, I did enjoy my salad and soup once I finally received it. Our service was not the best. We didn't see out waiter very often, and when we did, he was zooming past our table and neglecting to see if we needed anything. My coke sat empty for at least 15 minutes with no refill, and empty/dirty cups remained on our table the entire meal. I will give him the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe it was because the restaurant was very busy, but I still wish the service could have been a bit better. I don't think I would particularly recommend First Watch to anyone for a breakfast or lunch option, nor do I think that I would return. read more

Totally worth the wait to dine at this hopping brunch spot! We dined here before an event at the Orlando Rep with some out of town friends. While I had heard bits and pieces about this establishment, I had yet to experience a meal here. First of all, it's cute! The atmosphere is relaxed and cozy, in fact, we had a larger table with 2 open seats and a single Guest joined us during the meal (after asking) and ended up making friends with our youngest son while reading his newspaper. 4 out of the 6 of us are on a restrictive diet and our server (wish I had his name) was beyond helpful in suggesting alternatives for us and making sure we had an enjoyable meal. We were able to replace the included bread options, with either extra salad with a light dressing or a cup of fruit. He took it a step further and got us only berries, as we are restricted on the fruit we can enjoy on a keto diet. Super helpful, and resulted in less waste. A total win for anyone on a Keto diet! I have been going to the First Watch in Maitland for many years.. so I was super excited when one popped up in my neighborhood! I always end up going here when it's super busy for brunch, but they seem to handle the crowd very well, and the staff is always very kind and helpful. (Also the coffee/water station in the front is clutch!) I went last Sunday morning, and had a very wonderful experience. Our server was very helpful, and attentive. The place was SUPER busy, but everyone seemed to be helping each other out, and like clockwork we sat for only about 5 minutes before getting seated. I ordered a breakfast sandwich - SO good, I ate it for 2 days! Also, the extreme bacon, or whatever it's called (sweet/pepper bacon) was SUPER good - highly recommend that. Love this breakfast place. It's got a nice modern look while still being cozy. Expect to wait if you go on a weekend--we went on Saturday morning around 10 and waited about 15 minutes. They focus on freshness and you could tell by the way the food looks and is presented in the menu. Food was delicious (see pics). My only complaint would be that I didn't get what I ordered but didn't notice until I started eating but didn't bother telling the server. The server had actually gotten my order right (farmhouse skillet hash) but I had managed to get the Parma skillet. I didn't notice because all I could see on top was the eggs and cheese. This new location, makes my love for First Watch even more because they have an alcohol bar. I've been to this location twice since it's been opened and I've try many different things, as I went with friends and we ordered to share. Okay, so the Billion Dollar Bacon here is like $4 for like 4 strips of bacon, and really, you're probably wondering to yourself, but is it worth it..? YES, definitely! It's made perfectly. The bacon isn't too soft and it's not to crispy to where it breaks and crunches as you bite. The flavor is so sweet with a maple syrup flavor, yet perfectly salted. Everything that is served here is delicious. I love trying new items when I come in. But my all time favorite would have to be the Quinoa, I substitute the sausage for the chicken and it so good. Staff: These are the most amazing group of staff I've encountered. Not to mention that they're probably all college students. It's hard working in food service, especially when brunch is such a big deal on the weekends and everyone is piling in to eat. I came to First Watch early Monday morning after yoga. It wasn't too busy (probably because it was 7am) which was good because we were seated and served right away. I would consider myself a brunch enthusiast, if there's good food and refreshing mimosas I'm there. However, on this particular morning I was looking for something more on the healthy side. I was very happy to see that First Watch has a section on their menu labeled "The Healthier Side". My friend and I both got the kale tonic and avocado toast and split an order of the million dollar bacon (yes I know, not very healthy) and let me tell you, everything was so yummy! I'm one of those rare breeds who really doesn't like avocados, however, the avocado toast was delicious and very satisfying. The kale tonic has no added sugars and was very refreshing. The million dollar bacon was named very well, it's four slices of bacon baked with brown sugar, black pepper, cayenne, and a maple syrup drizzle. So. Dang. Good. The service was okay, felt kind of rushed. The server gave us our tab before asking us if there was anything else we needed. The food here was absolutely excellent, however the biggest reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because the service was not so great and our food took a really long time to come out. It's a pretty popular spot and you can add your name to the line online which is nice, but if not it's a pretty long wait time. My cinnamon chip pancake was super delicious, however it only came with one which was a little disappointing. The waitress came and snapped up the plate without asking if everything was ok. I said "those bananas are nasty." She said "I'm throwing them away." I got up, paid, and left. I'm very mad at myself for not coming to First Watch earlier. To summarize, everything was amazing. I don't see myself favoring any other breakfast places aside from this one for a while. Alex and I came in a couple ago around 1 or 1:30 for some late breakfast. They had steady business at the time, most tables were full but I nor anybody else after us had to wait for a table. As we sat down, we were immediately greeted by our server and she offered us some coffee. Let me tell you. That was some of the BEST darn coffee I've had in a very long time. It was bold and smooth and delicious. I'm obsessed. Alex got the turkey sausage biscuits and gravy. I was unsure of what to get, but I narrowed it down to a skillet hash, which they have 3 different kinds of. The two I was looking at was the farmhouse (bacon, avocado, onion, tomato, cheddar, Monterey Jack) and the market hash (mushroom, zucchini, shallots, peppers, spinach, mozzarella, and goat cheese. My server helped me out with deciding and told me to get the farmhouse and change the cheese to the goat cheese. It comes atop potatoes and two eggs any style, and I chose over easy, with toast. We also shared a bowl of tomato bisque soup. The soup came out first and it was sooooo good. It was very warm and left a nice feeling in my belly. We waited about 15-20 mins for the rest of our food. But it was so worth the wait. My skillet came out BOMB. The goat cheese with the toppings from the farmhouse skillet? YES. It was fantastic. The goat cheese had such a bold flavor and I was just so happy. Alex's biscuits were warm and fluffy and the turkey flavor really came through. The potatoes were crispy but needed a tad bit more salt. But we're still very good! The service was consistently good and our server was very attentive. I did see a few tables staying dirty and cluttered with plates for quite a while and I also watched a family get seated at a table that definitely should have gotten a sweep up or vacuum before getting seated at again. Overall though, we had a good experience. There's no wonder my friends are so impressed and kept telling me to go! I'm so glad I finally did! read more
