Very busy brunch joint in Mills Park! Bustling, colorful, brightly lit and family friendly with no diner/greasy-spoon grittiness, it's a great safe choice for breakfast/brunch. The menu covers all the expected omelet and pancake bases plus some healthy offerings (like egg white omelet, granolas and fruits) and some seasonal specials. went here for lunch today and was appalled to see how they seat their customers. in the back corner of the room, they sat me and my Asian buddies in the farthest table from the front. As we ate, they sat an African American couple next to us, then an Indian lady, then a couple more minorities with us in the back. As we made our way to the front to pay, we saw nothing but white faces in the front and main section of the restaurant. While First Watch isn't my initial choice for breakfast in Orlando, it's a place I will frequently go with my family because they really enjoy it. Decent breakfast items for a reasonable price. Not my favorite because they don't have any alcohol and what's breakfast without a mimosa or two (let's be real- needs to be unlimited) but if I'm going out with the family who doesn't drink- I'm never complaining about the food here (fresh ingredients, healthy options that are yummy) and service is usually great! :) read more

I've had really good experiences at other locations so I expected this location to be no different. I was there for a casual business lunch and ordered a cobb salad. The lettuce was all spoiled, literal mush and inedible. I simply ate the toppings. I didn't want to complain because again I was at a business lunch but even if I wanted to I wouldn't have been able to, our waitress only returned to drop off the check towards the end of the meal. I ordered the Elevated Breakfast Sandwich, the Brioche was cold it should have been toasted and let sit adding the arugula etc. after. My favorite brunch place to stop by! I love their elevated egg sandwich, and their fresh drinks compliment their dishes very well. We came in for a late brunch at the Mills 50 location. This wasn't our first time in and normally we've had a great experience however this time unfortunately it was sub par. To start it took well over 5 minutes to be greeted at our table and as far as we could see the location was not busy. I ordered the Bloody Mary which I was not a fan, it taste like tomato paste and was incredibly thick. Not a big deal I switched it out for a coffee and was told it was removed from the bill. I put in my order for the BLT eggs Benedict and once my food was received I was brought the Florentine Benedict so I checked with the server to make sure I did order the BLT. She noted it wasn't correct and made sure to have the right order brought out. The second order I received also came out wrong. It was missing the arugula and by this time my husband had already finished his food. I informed the server that the food once again did not come out correctly and she said she would speak to the manager and remove it from the bill. I've worked in restaurants and completely understand things can go wrong, but no manager touched the table and when food is leaving the kitchen for a second time it should be looked over carefully to ensure it's correct. I did not feel like there was much concern from management whatsoever as not one person spoke to me. Our server did try to make the situation right but the team leaders definitely dropped the ball on this one. read more

This is a "new build" First Watch on the corner of a Mills Ave and Virginia Drive. It's in the new shopping center with The Fresh Market. This location is clean, bright and well set up. I've only been for lunch, but I'm sure it can get very busy for breakfast. Trying to be healthy, I had the Quinua Chicken. It was delicious and I'd have it again. They serve breakfast all day (the are closed for dinner), so if you're in the mood for breakfast, it's a great place to go. You won't find the cheap specials like at Denny's, IHOP, etc - but you get what you pay for. You get a higher quality experience. It's worth paying a little more. read more

I have eaten here at least a half dozen times including breakfast and lunch and have yet to be disappointed. The food quality is good and consistent. Staff is always friendly, and service is prompt. The healthy menu items are imaginative and quite good. Watch out for the calorie totals, though. I had the Power Wrap today which added up to 410 calories, but there are options in the same section up to at least 700 calories...a lot for a "healthy" item no matter the contents. Finally, I feel that FirstWatch should get extra kudos for having the nutrition information so easily accessed and nicely presented on the website. It would be even nicer if the info were available in the restaurant itself and were also applied to specials on the chalkboard, but that is quibbling. read more

Bug Alert !!! First time at this First Watch location. Busy morning, got seated after several minutes. After some coffee and water, we placed an order for Eggs Benedict and a "Chickinchanga" breakfast burrito. Before she left, she mentioned my Benedict came with field greens. Not knowing what to expect, she came back with our meals. Excited to dig in, I had a few bites of the greens. Light oiled with salt, I was pretty happy with the meal at this point.... And then, after looking down again I noticed a small, striped, beetle-like insect on one of the leaves. Now, I'm normally the type to forget I even saw it, and continue without saying anything. As if it was a piece of hair or something, but at this point I felt like it was important to tell the waitress, from both a customer and sanitation perspective. She came back, and was speechless after the site on my napkin. Again, not having been in many situations like these, we put on a $5 tip and went on our way. We didn't get to talk to anyone that day, so I figure this message would help as a way for me to formally explain what happened. read more

I wish there was a fresh watch in my backyard. I have been waiting for this location to open for two years now and finally they pull through. I enjoy my farmstand tacos...and my wife and omelet...both are awesome. The food always tastes fresh and healthy regardless of what you eat. Went one day with my mother just to check it out as she recommended it. The style and seating were very nice and clean. Had options to either dine outside or in. The open window style provides nice lighting in the area and contrasts the semi-dark tone of the store. As for the food, it was amazing. First Watch is a good solid spot for breakfast staples. You won't find a fancy, innovative brunch menu, but it definitely fulfilled my waffle craving. We arrived at 12:30 on a Sunday and were told it would be a 30 minute wait. They have a text messaging system to let you know when your table's ready so next time I'll plan to do my grocery shopping at Fresh Market while waiting. I don't remember the name of it but I ordered the combo with a Belgium waffle, two eggs and turkey sausage. Everything hit the spot. Also I definitely recommend getting the real maple syrup for just a dollar or so more. read more

Like many of their other locations you may should be prepared to wait, especially if there are a number of people in your party. I managed to get in with little wait with my daughter. They offer a nice selection of items for breakfast and lunch. The food tastes fresh and is nicely prepared. I got the kids pancake for my daughter and it was enormous. I may opt for that the next time and I should be fine. The service was good even though they were very busy and the food did not take long before it came out. I went with the Bacado Omelet and it was light and fluffy covered in sour cream and salsa. Overall, good food and the price is ok. It is best to plan around your trip or expect to wait some during the peak hours. read more

Absolutely one of my favorite breakfast places. Their pancakes are huge (and so many varieties!), their waffles are light an airy and their eggs are delicious. If you want something light - they have options (turkey sausage, egg whites, quinoa, wheat pancakes, etc). If you want something indulgent (chocolate pancakes) they have that, too. I wish their coffee was a bit better, but I don't come here for coffee - I come here for pancakes. Their service is generally fast and friendly. A great location with lots of space for large parties and plenty of parking. It's right off the dinky line bike trail and then have LOTS of bike parking. Eat here often. read more

WOW, as a member of the Sun eClub, I received a free breakfast coupon for my birthday. So, having dropped my daughter off at music camp, I visited the store on Mills Avenue. Their summer special included a Smoked Beef Brisket Hash, topped with two eggs; and, served with whole wheat toast and strawberry jam. My favorite new brunch spot. My boyfriend and I went this morning to try the new location out and were extremely please with everything about the place. I had the "Chickichanga," which was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend tried the "Crepeggs" which was also delicious. The benefit of the majority of their selection of food is that most of it is on the healthier side. Oh, and their orange juice was freshly squeezed. Hallelujah! I went to this restaurant because it was my birthday yet I received nothing special. The eggs arrived and they were overcooked. I asked for over"easy" eggs and they came without much yolk. They offered to redo the eggs but when they arrived, they too were not to my expectations. I like runny yokes! Then the seasoned potatoes did not look fresh and were not piping hot. Again they replaced my potatoes but they were the same. The waiter said they are made to order but they looked like they had been sitting in the back for quite a while. Then the toast was barely toasted and one of the slices was an end piece! Who ever serves an end piece with asking for it?? I was not happy but I was not about to return the bread too after returning two portions of my meal already. I will not be back to this location as there are many other breakfast places to go to. Day 3 - The food is great, but again service was poor. We ordered to go so as to not deal with the service issues (learned from 2 prior visits to this location). We ordered 25 minutes in advance, picked up our food, only to learn that they didn't prepare the food properly. So, I had to wait an additional 20 minutes for 1 omelet to be prepared again. Not cool. Can't seem to gain success. Only one star today. Ok, our 4th day eating here for breakfast. You may ask why - well not fattening like IHOP, Denny's, etc. and because we have three athletes (my kids) and we shy away from processed foods. FW offers a salad with breakfast, fresh green options and salmon (and other alternatives to processed meats). Also, they have gluten free bread. I was sad when they eliminated 100% corn tortillas (now a corn/wheat hybrid), but Denny's and iHop have neither options - just fattening/hard to digest wheat. And I wouldn't send an athlete to Waffle House - . Brought the whole family of 6 this morning. Let's see what happens. The food was great as usual. And service this time was awesome by and Ms. Olivia 1 she did a great job with our order. For athletes looking for high calories, but light on the stomach - try the AM SUPERFOODS BOWL. It tastes like dessert but fuels an athlete for 2 hours of tennis. Take one to go for between matches. All my best - 5 Stars today. This is our favorite breakfast spot when traveling. Came in before it was busy. 5 diners at lunch the table. Two plates came out, then two more, then after a long delay, the 5th diners food. Oh and a few minutes after that the order of million dollar bacon. Asked the server why they can't serve a table together? She says" we have no heat lamps so we serve as it's ready." So I guess that accounts somehow for my room temperature potatoes. Of course this is just a poorly managed kitchen that cannot time an order. But it's OK since the server told us they are "doing the best they can". Service is just not acceptable. Never again. read more

I love First Watch as a brand, but this location really let me down. We came at a slow time (10 on a Tuesday) and our party still got unusually poor service. Our server was inattentive- never brought more water, failed to bring other drinks, etc. I asked for a glass of ice water and instead was given a small juice cup and the communal water jug. I had to order an iced tea to get a real full sized drink. Also, I ordered my go to Lemon Ricotta pancakes and they came out looking very pitiful. What usually is generously covered in lemon curd and heaps of strawberries came out with just a couple small dollops of curd and a single sliced berry. For $10, I expect more. First Watch is a great brunch/lunch place, especially if you're wanting something on the "lighter" side. I found the food to be a little healthier than similar establishments. I got a special they had at the time which was chicken and veggies topped with 2 eggs and potatoes and it was very tasty. My girlfriend opted for a healthier power bowl which she was impressed with. Be prepared on weekends for a wait tho. They do have some complementary fruit-infused water tho while you wait, and it's very refreshing. The staff is always courteous and helpful and the restaurant is very clean inside and out. read more

Disappointed. I love first watch and always come here. However, I came today and there was a bug in my salad. They did offer me a new salad or fruit instead. I was very nice about it. However, when they brought the check, they still wanted me to pay full price. They should have comped it or discounted it at the very least. read more
