This location is losing greatness. Used to be my go to but now Olathe and South Overland Park have far better service. They didn't greet me at the door and I stood at the counter waiting for the guy to acknowledge me, service was slow and almost rude. Waitress took my order after a bit, someone else delivered and I was there for almost an hour and they only came back one time to see if I needed anything as I was wrapping up my meal. Food was mediocre, I had the biscuits and gravy. Checking out was the same, the cashier was counting menus or something while I waited to pay. First Watch serves okay breakfast food. I have visited many times, and usually order the Healthy Turkey meal. It's basically an egg white omelette with turkey, veggies, and feta cheese. Unfortunately, the last time I went to First Watch I was served the meal with spoiled turkey. After two bites I asked for my dish to be replaced with oatmeal. I will never return to First Watch. No restaurant should mistakenly serve spoiled meat. Especially such a successful chain. They should have systems in place to prevent it. read more

Let me start by saying I'm very particular about breakfast food. That said, this was absolutely phenomenal. I had a waffle, scrambled eggs, sausage, and hot chocolate. The waffle was light and fluffy, the sausage was perfectly seasoned, and the eggs were flavorful. I say at the community table (which is such a cool idea - I've never seen that before at other restaurants), and made some new friends. Oddly enough, we knew a lot of the same people! Look, I don't care... make fun of me... the food here is some of the best! Just because it is a franchise doesn't mean the food can't be wonderful. I have never had a bad meal here. The blueberry pancakes are always light and fluffy, the eggs Benedict Florentine is so good I get it almost every time I come here. My husband loves the bubba's benny. He loves getting the eggs on the biscuits and gravy. The service is always polite and response. Rated on food alone this place is easily 5 stars (Once again... I don't care that it isn't cool to like this place... I just care that the food is sooo good.) Now here is why this place just pisses me off. START HAVING CALL AHEAD SEATING OR TAKING RESERVATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(Yes imagine I am yelling this). So usually I absolutely love this place I have a lot of business meetings there and occasionally on the weekends a group of my friends or my family will go there... but today I drug my teenager out of bed to come down and have breakfast with me with a birthday buy one get one free eclub offer. We actually reserved our table online so that walked in even with a crowd of folks our table was ready pretty quickly! Great! Then we ordered -- did not see our food for 35 minutes then when they brought our food I had specifically ask for the holindase sauce on the side and it was on top of my eggs Benedict... The server apologized and said she would get it corrected... she did have the manager come over and tell me he would comp my meal.... so that's all great! few things here -the kitchen let the server down because they didn't do what was on the ticket ...the server let me down because she didn't look at what she was bringing out to me and she didn't check on what was taking so long to start. And even though I keep my buy one get one free meal and they gave me my meal I still had to pay for my sons... and an hour later we're finally done with breakfast. I know this kind of thing can always happen in a restaurant --I will be back but I will make sure I have a different server & more time! At the end of the day it was supposed to be a nice outing for my son and I and it turned into kind of a frustrating experience! read more
