If you like "top notch Belgian waffles" then you need to try one at first watch. My wife and I literally have a tradition to come here every other Saturday for their breakfast so we can get the waffles. These waffles are made of the most perfect consistency you will ever have in a waffle. The texture, the consistency, the taste - all things that you will think are incredible. On top of that they have this incredible sauce they put on the side which isn't thick and process tasting like at some places, yet instead it's a thin real fruit Trifectastrawberry jelly like sauce they give you on the side and adding a tidbit of that to your bite is oh so goooood.. on top of all this, the service is always great, and we never have to wait for a table or booth (coming at 8am or 10am!) My girlfriend and I are constantly looking for new places we'd never heard of to dine at, and were very excited when we saw the good reviews about this place. The restaurant was very busy the day we went in and we were okay with waiting the 20 minutes to sit down. What we weren't okay with is how rude and short the hostess was with us, my girlfriend simply asked how long the wait would be to which she simply replied "20 minutes" there was no smile, no greeting walking in, just the feeling we are annoying her. While we quickly discussed if we wanted to wait she raised her voice to be heard asking us, "Do you Wanna be put down or not?" In an again rude tone. Fast forward to when we are seated, our waiter was extremely short with us as well. Hoping that this was just a bad experience and the food would make up for it, we waited. Once we got our food, it was mediocre at best at an absurd price. My scrambled eggs could fit easily in the palm of my hand, and yet when the waiter offered cheese on my eggs, I obliged unknowing that it was going to be an extra $2 just for a few shreds of cheese. All around poor experience, food not worth the price, water was room temperature and tasted like straight from a tap with no ice as to addition to what looked like backwash floating in the drink, and the service was horrendous. The waiter was extremely rude due to them running behind on arriving. He told me I have a bigger party and your orders will have to wait, in fact I might not be able to take your orders. Dude was straight evil towards waiting on a 9, 7 and 19 year old kids. He said it in front of other tables and they were even shocked. I went to complain to management and demanded another server. She was pleasant and we tipped her 31% of the bill. The table next to me said they experienced the same with this guy and he was rude. I really love this place after our maiden voyage. Champagne would be nice, but the food is excellent, creative and they have lots of healthy options. My wife had the veggie omelet and loved (especially Roth cremeni mushrooms. I had the Brilliant beet toast with egg. Very unique flavors and was fabulous. We used to be regulars but had a bad service experience and have been away for several months. We were very pleased to see what has happened while we were away. The servers were spirited and energetic despite being down one third due to no shows. We got great, attentive, cheerful service and the food quality, portioning and presentation were excellent. This place is still trying to find its grove. Wait time was horrible, very disorganized and 0 since of urgency. We ordered as soon as we were greeted, food took forever. Despite eggs being over cooked and being out of million dollar bacon the rest of our food was good. On a side note our server Joyce was a delight and very attentive. I've been here four times now and I think this is a fair assessment. The food is amazing, but the service has been miserable every single time. This is a training issue. The waiter gave us our food, went to the kitchen, and immediately came back with the check, and she never came back afterwards. A staple of ours for a couple years now. Now that the COVID rules are more relaxed we shy away from places that feel cramped or don't require the wait staff to don facial coverings. So we are very pleased to see the wait staff were masked up and there was enough space in the place to feel comfortable enough to enjoy our meal without much worry.
