Usually I enjoy the food here, and would give more than 3 stars....however, the sunny Seoul hash was honestly so gross. I'd give the dish no stars if I could. Not a lot of meat, like hardly any pork. All of the food was good but I was a little upsethe little upset that the omelet was only slices of ham lunch meat instead of egg instead of an egg with some cheese I was expecting a little more flare maybe onions and peppers or something . Firstwatch is a great place to eat for breakfast/brunch. Their wait time can be long depending if their outside area is open. Downloading the firstwatch app or having the NoWaiit app help with getting you name on the list even if your on their to bypass the longs waits. We placed ourselves on the NoWait app before arriving 30 mins before getting there. Once we go there around the wait time, they said it would still be an additional 30 mins-ish. So we decided to walk around outside. Once we got our table, it took an additional 15 mins to see our waiter and place our food and drinks and another 30 mins until out food arrived. While in the area for business I stopped in for breakfast on a weekday and this place was ¾ full! It was nice to see that on a weekday, because most other First Watch restaurants I visit on weekdays seem rather dead. Clearly the people in this area know a good thing!! My server, Jill was friendly, helpful, smiled a lot, and was generally awesome! The place was clean and very nicely decorated, as these restaurants generally are. The fall menu had their pumpkin pancake on it, so I opted for that, especially since I've eaten at many of these in many states, but had yet to try a pancake. We stopped here after staying at the Fairfield Inn in McCandless. Used the app to reserve a spot in line and checked in at the entrance. We had to wait 5 minutes until we were able to sit. Once we sat down, we quickly noticed a person with his mask on while waiting for his food. As soon as he removed it, it was Jake Guentzel, from the Pittsburgh Penguins sitting next to us. I've heard there's almost always a wait here, especially for brunch, so I wasn't surprised when we were told the wait would be 45 minutes. My boyfriend and I killed some time at the Trader Joe's across the parking lot. Ordered the avocado toast, which came with two basted eggs. TL;DR -- "Check in" online before you arrive. Since it was a holiday, we knew there would be a wait, but we were happy to wait the hour we were quoted. After waiting an hour, we checked to see that we were 5th in line, yay! 30 more minutes, after watching about 4 parties get seated, we went in and found we were 7th in line. They told us others were checking in online and thus skipping ahead of us. I'd checked yelp first to see if they accepted reservations and saw they didn't, so I didn't know that checking in online was an option, and that doing so skipped you ahead of people who had been waiting an hour and a half. So to others looking: they DO accept reservations, but it's called checking in! To be clear, the host staff were very friendly and accommodating. We checked in at the restaurant after 35 minutes and the hostess guessed it would be another 30 minutes until we would be seated (which ended up being pretty close - so our total wait time was a little over an hour). I found myself enjoying my meal more at this location than Cranberry which can very well be attributed to my order. I ordered lunch on First Watch's website, and the food was ready for pickup in 17 minutes. My reviews for the foods are as follows: Million Dollar Bacon - 3 stars - The four slices of bacon were cooked the right amount so they were neither soggy nor burned. I liked the taste of the brown sugar, but the maple syrup made my fingers feel sticky, and the black pepper and cayenne were a little too spicy. Crab and Avocado Toast - 4 stars - The blue crab and avocado chunks were generous and were complemented well by red onions and whole-grain toast. I chose my side of eggs to be sunny-side up, and they were cooked to be neither runny nor solid. I love that the eggs came from cage-free chickens. Lemon Ricotta Pancakes - 4 stars - The two pancakes were very large and were a mixture of whole grains and ricotta cheese. They were topped with strawberries, lemon curd, and syrup. A unique and yummy flavor! Sweet Honey Pecan Salad - 3 stars - The mixed greens were organic, and I enjoyed the avocado, tomatoes, carrots, cheeses, and dressing. I actually preferred the chicken chunks separately on the side. I did not see many pecans. Chicken Salad Melt - 3.5 stars - I ordered this entree for my husband. He ate all of the chicken salad and left behind the tomatoes and whole-grain bread. Usually he prefers plain chicken salad, but he did eat the apple pieces, raisins, and celery that were mixed in. He said that he liked this entree. BLTE - 4 stars - This sandwich was a generous portion. It had bacon, lettuce, and tomato plus two over-hard cage-free eggs, Monterey Jack cheese, mayonnaise, and whole-grain bread. I enjoyed that this sandwich was fancier than the typical BLT. For my side dish, I chose the tomato basil soup, which I thought was a little too chunky and basily. Marshmallow Treat - 3 stars - This marshmallow treat was gluten-free and contained rice-krispie cereal, melted marshmallows, and a touch of sea salt and caramel. It tasted good, but I prefer my homemade Rice Krispies Treats! Chicken Apple Sausage - 3.5 stars - I am not a fan of sausage, but this sausage was one of my husband's favorite foods from this restaurant. He said that he could taste a pleasant apple flavor. I am a fan already after dining here only one time. I previously ate at the location in Cranberry and thought I enjoyed that experience enough to be excited about visiting this First Watch today. But I must say, this set up feels so much better and it tops the Cranberry location by far. We were warmly greeted upon entering and were quickly seated. I am sure timing was on our side for getting seated right away. I am certain they usually encounter fairly large crowds on a regular basis because of their limited hours of 7:00AM to 2:30 PM Monday-Sunday. They do suggest trying their "Seat & Eat" quick order option. It's basically having your order already recorded and once you are seated the food preparation begins. The dining room is very open and comfortable. The design is such that they can easily transform their tables and chairs into dining for 4 or 14 all with a twist of a table or two. Smart. From what I gathered, the rustic theme of the restaurant is centered around several of the oversized wooden beams that came from a barn that had been torn down and repurposed throughout the dining space. They have bushel basket light fixtures hanging from the ceiling which further adds to the theme as well. But the real treat is their fresh and exciting healthy menu options. The choices are plentiful and unique. One bite of my club sandwich and soup said it all. They know what they are doing and they do it well!! My friends salad was appealing and plentiful. I'm always impressed with First Watch. I've been to this location on a few occasions but only for breakfast. The food has always been fresh and delicious. I've never had to wait long if at all for a table. Service can be slower at first but once a server makes contact they check in frequently to see if there's anything you need. I like that they have healthier options including mixed greens with breakfast. I asked for the mixed greens instead of the potatoes that usually came with the omelet I ordered and I wasn't even charged extra. I also like the fact that they will give you coffee to go.
