Very inconsistent service! I applaud First Watch for their food but service is so inconsistent. The host was the only person who did their job correctly. He gave me a warm welcome and seated me immediately. After I had got my coffee, I had the pleasure of waiting 30 mins to not even be asked "How can I help you today?". After my long wait I had decided to pay for my coffee and leave. The host says to me "Don't worry about it." The host of all people was the only person to do their job correctly. I brought my sister and her kids for brunch and they totally enjoyed it!!!! The environment is quiet and calm. The decor is rustic.... just too cute. Pro tip: get on the waitlist through yelp before you head here, skip the line! We came for Sunday brunch and the wait staff was super fun and friendly. We ordered the elevated egg sandwich and the avocado toast. They were both good, but I think they can use more spices to make the food have more flavor. The eggs that came with the avacado toast weren't just runny - the yellow was basically water. Gross. If you order the toast, make sure you tell them to cook the eggs a bit more! read more

This is probably my new favorite lunch/brunch spot. The food is amazing but in all honesty I'm sure I could find that elsewhere but what is hard to find is a place that consistently gives great service. If you go in ask for mikey, hes the best, anytime something comes out wrong he takes care of it even if it's not a big deal. As a fellow server myself I'm really particular about service and when I find a good spot I keep coming back for more. Rude, poor service! I just called in to try and place a pick up order for when I take lunch at 1pm it is now 11:10am and the guy that picked up the phone which said his name was "Mikey" first hung up on me and the second time I called he refused to take my order asking me to call back when ever I was on my way instead. I then explained to him that I was at work on my BREAK and that I wasn't going to have time to call ahead and I couldn't waste too much time during lunch. He then replied with "we prepare our food exceptionally fast" still refusing to take my order. I've been here before and it can take a good while to get your food to go, from my own experience last I was there it took them an additional 10 min to get my order ready from the time I arrived. Tried this place for breakfast one morning before church. We sat outside and enjoyed the sun. The Million Dollar Bacon was worth every dollar. If you like a good hearty breakfast this place is great. Coffee isn't the best but everything else was top notch. read more

The first time I came to First Watch I was impressed with their fresh menu. Their Italian wedding soup was delicious. When I returned today, a week later, I lost all my enthusiasm for the place. I ordered the Monterey Club. The bread was crumbly and didn't hold together and the deli meat was cheap quality and tasteless, Both times I've been, the waiter had to check what to soup of the day was; seems like that would be one of the first things you do at the beginning of your shift after side work. The customer should not have to wait on you to get it together. Then the oddest thing I noticed was water glasses and coffee cups set out at each table. I was there at lunch time. The cups and glasses did not get removed from our table as we ate even though we did not order coffee. I had a cold and although I moved the cups away from me, I felt bad for the person who would sit there after us and would have to drink their coffee from a cup that has been there all morning. Possibly sneezed or coughed on. Just doesn't seem sanitary to me. Don't think I'll be returning any time soon; but it is close to work, so maybe I'll give it another try one day. read more

I've been a First Watch customer for quite some time. I live a healthy lifestyle and the food fits right in. I went to the 930 E. Campbell location today and got attitude from the Host. When I walked in there were 2 employees at the front desk. One was checking out a party of 4 and the other was standing right in front of me. The young man standing in front of me wore a lot of jewelry and had a stud in his nose. He was not talking to anyone and was only looking in the direction of the party being checked out. He never looked at or greeted me. I stood there patiently for about 60 seconds and then I turn and now I'm looking directly at him and still nothing. So employing some psychology, I turned to face in the same direction as he and noticed a rather attractive young lady, at which point he immediately, within 2 seconds, acknowledged my presence by saying in a not so friendly tone, and I quote, "Are you waiting to be seated". At which point, under my breath, I said, it's nice to finally be noticed. I suppose I interrupted him when he needed a little more time to stare at the outgoing party as opposed to doing his job. read more

Avocado toast is the best. I've tried at other places, but none have come close to First Watch. The bread, the avocado spread, I'm not sure what it is but the avocado toast is perfection. I also tried the millionaire bacon. Very sticky due to the syrup but good. I've also had the Cobb salad. It's so well put together I never even eat it with dressing. The website allows you to adjust items on the menu so you can get a more accurate calorie count. I love that feature. Always friendly servers. After looking for a good place for breakfast my husband and I decided to give First Watch a try and man are we glad we did! I chose the bocado omelette while my husband got a the works omelette we also got a slice of French toast and a order of first watch potatoes to split everything was amazing and they do not skimp on toppings in the omelettes or anything else! This is normally the go to brunch spot for me and my boyfriend. We love eating at First Watch. I always order the Farmhouse that has potatoes. The potatoes are normally cooked to perfection which is like a medium crisp, not burnt. Today we went to eat and of course I order the Farmhouse again. First time we get our food, the potatoes look mushy and not crisp at all. So my boyfriend tells the server if they can cook the potatoes to be a crisp, not burnt. They bring it out again and the second I saw it, I was speechless. I had no words. It straight up looks and smells burnt. As soon as the server set it down, she didn't even bother asking if the potatoes looked okay. She walked away and then stared from afar then asked if they were okay. Couldn't she have done that when she set it down? Do I, as the customer, need to yell across the restaurant to let you know how my food is? The fact that the cooks thought this was good to serve is a huge problem. Another fact that the server can't even tell it's burnt is another big problem. I ordered the Trifecta (2 eggs any way, waffle or pancake, and choice of meat). I chose to have the eggs over easy, waffle, bacon with a side order of gravy and biscuits (since I came to Dallas, TX). First of all this establishment is modern food decor and they have pallets on the ceiling, walls and floor including chairs and tables. Now with the food, eggs are eggs but this place claims they are cage free. Bacon was a bit thicker than most and cooked to crisp. Waffle was good! Out was moist with the right amount of chewyness(is this even a word?). Biscuit was falling apart which is not good because you can't pick up the mixture of egg yolk and gravy from your plate... Finally the gravy was flavorless meaning that I had to add "the great equalizer" Cholula! All in all I expected to much because it was a solid 4 stars in yelp... And lastly the service was not exceptional but I had a singing waiter, and I can't say it was the worst and I'm willing to leave out at that! read more

It was better when it was The Egg & I. Adding fresh pressed juices is a good thing. But the services is pretty poor and the food no big deal. My big complaint is that the menu is confusing. They list frittatas and omelettes together. I wanted and omelet. Nothing in the descriptions told you want you were getting. So I was surprised, disappointed and frankly pi$$ed off when what I thought would be a chorizo omelet turned out to be a disgusting breakfast burrito that looked like it came from Taco Bell. Also, the menu section said it came with fresh greens with lite dressing. No such thing came with it. The menu also said it cane with artisan bread. Didn't get any of that either. Complaining to the server brought a blank look and a meek "sorry". The coffee was also bitter. And the service -- a bunch of young girls standing around chatting up each other instead of waiting on customers. And this was on a Friday at lunch. This is such a good breakfast diner. I got the classic breakfast with eggs, ham, toast, and potatoes. Everything was good but the potatoes were amazingly seasoned and the onions they were grilled with added a depth of flavor. It's extremely reasonably priced. The waiters were friendly and the food came quickly. Probably my favorite part of this place was the atmosphere. Wood tables, floors, and chairs. Water was served in a glass milk jug on the table. Everything was rustic yet modern and homey. Definitely will be coming back and recommending it to others. Much better priced and food than an IHOP or cafe Brazil for example. read more
