This place has really gone downhill since they opened. I've been coming here regularly since they opened, and the decline in service is remarkable. I went in for brunch around noon on Sunday, and our server messed up my order twice and then refused to correct it, saying that I was in the wrong and that he gave me exactly what I ordered (spoiler: he didn't). I even wrote my order down on my phone in case he was having trouble misunderstanding, but that did not help. The food was fine, but the poor service really ruined the meal for me, and, frankly, will probably keep me from ever going back to Starwood. There are better brunch options nearby where the servers don't pick fights with me. read more

I loved this place! I didn't really like that the soap wasn't working. The food tastes amazing! I got the Nutella banana crepe, I love it! The waitress was amazing and I loved her jeans. my friend has something to say about it,"the waitress did not try talking to us,I dislike that and again the soap wasn't working it (please fix it!) I came here yesterday and the service was terrible! While the food was great and came out quickly after I ordered it, my waitress was very unpleasant and unfriendly. She didn't smile, didn't say thank you. There were no pleasantries from her at all. When it was time for me to order she flatly said "what do you want?" It took me aback because normally a server says something more pleasant like "what can I get for you?" or "what would you like?" There was none of that. She was like that with some of the other tables around mine also, to the point where the couple sitting across from my table commented when she asked them the same thing in the same way, "what do you want?" When she delivered my food, she didn't say a word, put it on the table, and immediately turned around to tend to the table across from mine. I didn't have any silverware or napkin so I loudly said "excuse me miss" to get her attention and advised. She seemed frustrated at that and grabbed some silverware from the table behind mine and put it on my table, again without a word or apology, and turned her back to me again. No "enjoy" or anything. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 star is because the food was good and came out quickly. Based on this experience, I'm not sure if I have any desire to return. read more

We really enjoyed our breakfast at Starwood Cafe! The restaurant had a comfortable feel and nice atmosphere! Our server was great - he checked in with us a couple of times. We were hungry for eggs and hash browns and there were lots of choices! I chose the eggs over easy and hash browns with a biscuit that I could put jelly on. You have to get runny eggs to mix in with your hash browns- that's the way to eat them! Hubby landed on same eggs and hash browns but he decided on the biscuit with gravy. I ordered Migas at the Dallas location (Arapaho & Hillcrest). The migas came with a small thimble size of salsa. The eggs were fine, hashbrowns not very hot but the big surprise was that I asked for a little more salsa as what they gave was a very small amount. When I received the bill they actually charged for another thimble size serving of the salsa. Isn't that like charging for ketchup? I asked about it and the young man who said he was the manager for the day (probably not the manager) had an attitude and said you want to it for free? No, I just said it isn't the money but that is pretty petty of the restaurant. I hope it was worth their $0.95 as they lost any future $20 breakfast revenue from me. read more

My daughter and I came in on a Sunday and there was a 30 minute wait. We expected that. Almost to the second, we were sat in 30 minutes. We were quickly greeted and everything was good. We forgot to ask the server for special requests when ordering food (no runny eggs). Our fault. Manager came over. My daughter hadn't taken a bite. I had the eggs and bacon. Since we didn't try something out of the box, it was just breakfast. This is such a great neighborhood brunch spot that is casually priced. They have a large indoor and outdoor seating area, so can get a table pretty quickly. Service was super fast and cordial, and I appreciate that they take Apple Pay. We were taking a neighborhood walk, and happened to get hungry so we stopped by on our walk before heading home. The ambiance was family friendly and casual, so we didn't feel out of place in our active wear. We ordered avocado toast and chicken and waffles. Both plates were really good! You can tell everything was freshly prepared and the ingredients were fresh. I really enjoyed my chicken and waffles, it came with gravy but I opted for syrup. My husband's avocado toast was pretty well balanced for a healthy option, and the avocado salad was dressed really well. It comes with two side items only; however it is a little confusing the way they currently have it listed on their menu. I would come back here and try something else. Ordered huevos rancheros (menu said crispy corn tortillas, pulled pork, feta?, salsa, eggs) and asked to sub pepper jack for feta. Nope, they can't. Ok... Plate came...not worth money or calories. Tortillas covered in grease and soft, few chunks of fat and one measly shred of pork, tiny bit of salsa. Manager was great and waitress was, as well; but, as I said, there are too many options for breakfast spots that are doing it well and I don't have to tell them how to cook was is on THEIR (limited) menu. I know it's early but so far so good! We arrived to find a beautiful interior decorated in comfy and classy sky blue leather upholstered booths. The high ceilings and warehouse feel have the interior a very spacious and luxurious touch. Definitely several cuts above a regular diner! We were pleasantly greeted by the owner who informed us that she only had two servers and our patience would be appreciated. Apparently, no one wants to work anymore. We ordered the chicken & waffles and the Turkey club. Belgian Waffle was cooked perfectly and was magnificent. The chicken tenders on top were high quality breast meat with zero gristle or fat. My wife proclaimed the Turkey club to be the best she's ever had. The meat was fresh as were the lettuce and bacon. Even the fries were lightly seasoned and perfectly crunchy. Prices were very reasonable -- around $10-12 per sandwich and entree. Service from our waiter was outstanding and personable. Came to this new location for some breakfast and coffee after I went to the tax office for my vehicle registration- I felt like I deserved a treat for doing my adult thing for the day. I ordered the breakfast burrito with bacon, coffee, and a strawberries and cream waffle. The burrito was ok, standard breakfast burrito at a non Mexican restaurant. Not something I would order again, but there were plenty of other things on the menu. If you like your hash browns crispy like I do you will need to specify when placing your order. The coffee was great- I could have stayed and had coffee all day. The strawberries and cream waffle was the highlight- fresh strawberries which is very important, I cannot stand a strawberries in jelly or syrup situation, fresh only. The service was friendly and quick, my server was Roman and he had a smile on his face the entire time. What was not so great was the lack of taste and the "greasy spoon" taste it left in your mouth and belly. Lastly, the service was very lacking. Our waitress never smiled, was at times curt, and seemed put out that she was waiting tables to begin with. I was there for lunch today. I ordered the BLT no Mayo with fries. The fried didn't disappoint. The BLT was another story. It was cut in half, which was fine. It did come with no Mayo which was good. The tomato was nice and thick, which was good. There was one very small leaf of lettuce that only was on one half of the sandwich. There was a total of two slices of bacon that were very thin and only about an inch wide. The service was good, however a 20% gratuity was added on to the ticket. I rate this restaurant 2 stars only because of the service and atmosphere. read more
