Had a pasta dish that was good, and a draft beer. They are open late but I think I came at a shift change and didn't see a waitress for several minutes so I sat at the bar. We've been coming here since this place opened and I'm always impressed with the consistency of the quality of the food. They have a big variety and everything is really good - killer queso, great pizza, and a burger that's as good as it gets. Blonde bartender was asking everyone's drinks and started to make them until we had extra people roll into our party. He seemed annoyed that he had to work more and came back and said that he wouldn't serve us because one persons's "eyes didn't look right". He waited until we ordered all our drinks to tell us we couldn't drink here (despite being sober) and had us leave the bar. Wouldn't recommend coming here. Based on the reviews I was expecting excellent food and lousy service but it was quite the opposite! Our waitress was lovely and friendly and the other waiters were also very pleasant and helpful. The food, on the other hand, was a mixed bag. The wings were good but 7 out of 8 of them were drumsticks. Cmon man! Gimme some damn flats!! 5/10 The cheeseburger was nearly inedible. The meat tasted odd and it just wasn't good. I couldn't make a burger taste this bad if I tried. 1/10 The pizza was cooked well and pretty middle of the road. 5/10 The outdoor patio is lovely at night and everyone was enjoying themselves. Who knows, maybe we just picked the wrong menu items. If the food was a bit better, we'd surely go back. read more

My boyfriend and I used to frequent this place. The food was good and the service was excellent. Everything and I mean EVERYTHING has gone downhill. Let's start with our server literally forgetting our order every single time he walked away because he's too busy playing with the other guests. (Our last visit... every time he went to put another order in, he forgot each and every time) The chicken sandwich turning into literal DUST in our mouths because it's so da** dry. The chicken wings that are the absolute worst in the history of chicken wings. The shrimp cocktail and tortilla soup that literally taste like a can of unseasoned Campbells tomato soup. The poblano chicken that's texture reminds me of the paint Mr. Wilson ate for dinner on Dennis the Minnis. The dry salad that is literally lettuce and carrots. The sautéed veggies that sometimes come out sautéed or steamed and completely over or under seasoned. NO consistency. Oh, or how about the queso that either comes out with the consistency of water or papier-mâché. Lastly, how about when your server tells the bartender to put salt on your margarita rim and they bring you a glass with no salt. The bartender seriously brought us two empty glasses to dump our margaritas into. NO! The mistake was theirs and they should have taken them back to fix them. I've worked in both serving and bartending. THAT is the way it should be. Pleasant experience for the first time. We will definitely be back soon! After shopping at Homegoods and Sprouts, we walked over to this place and are so glad we did! We ordered a Philadelphia Cheese Steak (soooo aooo yummy!) which we highly recommend! It was big enough to split, but next time I will have a full one because it is that delicious! Wanted to try something new so we stopped here. The food was great the drinks a little pricey but poured well. I enjoyed the Sammich, (yes that's the way it's spelled) the jerk fish sandwich as well as the quesadillas. I tried others that was with me food and they didn't miss. The staff were all friendly. Vegetarians and Vegans rejoice! Cafe Gecko has a delicious veggie burger for us. They are also great at accommodating special requests. I often get a build your own pizza with loads of veggies and no cheese. The crust is so thin and crispy! We love the neighborhood vibe at Cafe Gecko and it seems they are able to retain their service staff very well. My husband gets the Grilled Orange Chicken and loves it as well. Bottom line: service is great, food is delicious, and they have my favorite wine. Gecko seems to have a thriving business for both lunch and dinner. They have a brunch menu as well! read more

I ordered a turkey melt and expected a ho-hum experience, but the quality of the ingredients was top notch, so the sandwich ended up being surprisingly delicious. We are talking real roasted cuts of turkey, not that slimy, compressed, processed stuff you find elsewhere. Several slices of avocado were served on the open face sandwich ready for you to put on the final touches. The bun was soft and sweet. The sauce was served in a cup on the side. I enjoyed the sauce so much, I ended up dipping my waffle fries into it instead of using ketchup. I was here for a meet and greet event of political candidates running in this November's election. There were around 170 people here. The place was at capacity! The establishment opened the glass, garage-type doors so that the patio and indoor space blended together making it easier for everyone to see and hear the candidates do their stump speech. Despite having the doors open, the interior space remained cool and comfortable. The waitresses were agile at maneuvering between tightly wedged tables and chairs to take care of their customers. I asked the waitress if they were spicy and she made it seem like they might have a fair amount of spice on them...nope. We also got an order of the chicken, mushroom, spinach quesadillas and they were super soggy on the bottom, by the time they go to the table. This place was a one and done for me. I did not hate it it's just that it was below average for me. I expected the food to be much better. I started the meal with Queso and chips. I am sad to report that was the height of the meal and the food went downhill from there. We ordered the Santiago shrimp, which was basically shrimp cooked with onions and peppers and then cheese melted on top. All I can say is I could have rocked this meal at home with the same ingredients, so when I can do that, I am not impressed. We also ordered the Chicken Tacos. The chicken was over cooked to the point of being dried out and the only other thing they put in the tortillas was lettuce. I had to utilize the other ingredients on our table just to make them palatable. The service was friendly and pleasant, but slow, and they were not even busy. I love the food at Cafe Gecko. Until yesterday I never had a problem... Yesterday was egregious!! I ordered several things via Uber Eats, including a large pizza with Spinach, Ham and Sausage. The pizza was not included on the delivery. I contacted Uber eats and got a refund. I then ordered a medium pizza, this time without the spinach, via Uber Eats. Instead of getting the medium 2 topping pizza. Cafe Gecko thought it was ok to send the original OLD pizza that I placed (and not sent) on the first order!!!!! It arrived soggy and cold! I intentionally ordered a medium without the spinach so this wouldn't happen. They didn't care and sent the wrong pizza anyway. WHY WOULD THEY THINK THIS WAS OK??!!!! I don't trust to order from them anymore. I rarely post negative reviews on Yelp. It has to be a very bad experience. read more

My server Robert what can I say great customer service. I ordered beef fajita quesadilla well seasoned, spinach, mushroom and cheese came with pico and salsa and it had lots of meat. I ordered chicken enchiladas comes with a sour cream sauce churro beans and rice. Beans were so good made almost like a soup. Normally not to fond of sour cream sauce but it was excellent.
