It wasn't completely terrible, but they definitely could have used more seasoning. Their breakfast potatoes weren't too bad, I just felt like it could have been better for the money. UPDATED REVIEW: After speaking to someone here, I went back to try again. The food wasn't terrible, but still not my favorite. A lot of flavors were very simple and bland. The pumpkin pancake was delicious for sure, but my boyfriend barely touched his food because he said it had no flavor. On the plus side, you do get what you pay for, they added a salad and toast with his omelet, so he had a fairly large amount of food, but if you have any picky eaters this isn't for you. One thing I did appreciate though was that they have a lot of options of coffee creamers for your coffee including seasonal flavors and they have really neat farmhouse style decor. My last breakfast out before the Corona virus restaurant shutdown. It was wonderful!!! I had the Avocado Toast Breakfast with one of their power boost drink made with beets... yum!!!!! Place has the best healthy food in St Louis by a long shot. One of the few places I get something new every time and I'm not disappointed.

Placed and order for pickup they told us 15 minutes and then had to wait for another 30 minutes at the door. Then we we asked about it they told us they were bagging up our order but then brought out someone else's order. Attempt to eat here 12/28/15 to give it another chance; hash potatoes were hard and cold with two of the smallest scramble eggs, half turkey sandwich with half salad (lump of large leaf lettuce), the waffles were closest to menu description. I don't plan to return. The staff seemed over worked , tired and hurried, bumping tables and people including fellow workers. This was during a time when not all the tables/booths had customers. At one time our four customers had nine glasses, so refills arrived when first glass was not half empty nor removed. My spouse and I had breakfast here Monday, July 3. I was surprised it was busy; a holiday, kind of, I suppose. We usually come on weekends. A short 15 minute wait, and we were seated. Obvious our server was busy; but she got to us and greeted us in about 5 minutes. We placed our order; eggs benedict for my wife; the biscuit and turkey sausage gravy with eggs for me. Coffee and juice. Coffee took a bit, maybe 5 more minutes. 20 minutes later, the food and juice arrived; still OK. Our food was warm, not completely hot; still OK. my wife enjoyed her benedict; eggs cooked as she requested. My biscuit and turkey sausage gravy was tasty. I enjoyed the potatoes on the side as they were non-greasy; one of the things we like about First Watch is it seems healthier than most breakfast joints. I enjoy a diner -style breakfast as much as anyone else, but a healthy version is always appreciated. My eggs were also done to order. After we finished; we tried to get our servers' attention; took about 10 more minutes. We asked for our check and a to go bowl to take home the fruit bowl that came with my wife's benedict; she got too full, but it looked nice. Five more minutes for the check, no fruit bowl. Tried to get our servers attention again; couldn't do it. I stood up and she immediately came over when she saw me; and said she knew she owed us a container. She said she'd be right back with it. I waited another ten minutes, watching her take another tables' order, then talk for a bit with the cashier. She came back by our table and said she'd be right back. Another ten minutes of talking and taking another couple's order, she never returned to the table. My spouse had to go to our vehicle to take a business call; I remained, trying to get her attention; patiently. In all, I probably spent close to 30 minutes after the meal; waiting on the check and the cardboard bowl. Finally, I picked up the bowl of fruit and carried it with me to the cashier, who promptly got what I needed from the back; I paid the check, and left. I did something I hadn't done in probably 10 years; no tip. I felt that three requests for the same item deserved better attention. It wasn't like she had forgotten, as she made two more references to knowing what we needed; just didn't get it. We will return to First Watch, I'm sure. We like the place, and just hope the poor service is an isolated incident. read more

I normally enjoy restaurants that serve things that offer a little different twist on the standard fare, which First Watch definitely does. Because of this, I really want to like the place, but after a few visits with an open mind I honestly think this place is mediocre at best when it comes to the food, and a bit on the pricey side considering the portion sizes. Literally my favorite breakfast spot. Their AM Superfoods bowl is a MUST try! It's delicious and vegan! On the weekends this place is usually incredibly packed but you can use their app to check in before arrival so you don't have to wait in their lobby. Highly recommend!!! read more

We have been to First Watch, located on Mid Rivers several times. Each time, we have been happy with the service and food. When first walking in, it can get a little crowded on busy mornings and you might have a bit of a wait. We have always found the wait to be worth it! The Kale Tonic is one of my favorites! read more

Visited for my 2nd time today. I really enjoy their menu selections for breakfast. I am gluten free and they have many options that fit the mold. Our waiter today, Jonathan, couldn't have been nicer. He even gave us a list of his favorites (said he has worked there for 2 years). Their prices are a little bit higher than other breakfast joints, but I honestly don't mind, because their food quality is excellent. My only gripe is that their coffee isn't great. And they don't use fresh cream (they have the unrefrigerated individual cups). That being said, they do offer sugar in the raw, which I'm a fan of. Will be returning soon. read more

I visit first watch this morning for breakfast and it was wonderful, my eggs cooked perfect!! My server Nicole was excellent she is very sweet!! I usually eat at the one in Creve Coeur, I moved to St. Peters and this will now be my favorite. I highly recommend eating there. read more

Food is always fresh and fantastic, great service and friendly staff. Food is never greasy and they have plenty of healthy options. (Bacon&onion hash with egg whites is my favorite!......no longer on the menu, but they gladly still make it if requested!) they currently have the revised menu. - We make it to breakfast a couple times a month and always go to the mid-rivers first watch. It's a popular place on the weekends, so try and get their before 8:00am......then go back home and take a nap with a full stomach!:-) - If it's busy; they will take your cell number and text you when they're ready to seat you. And you can even view where you're at in line, on your phone, while waiting!......VERY cool use of technology. - I chuckle when I see the disheveled looking, lazy bums who clearly just crawled out of bed at 9:00am, rush up to First Watch for breakfast, then complain and grumble at how busy it is.(lol).......'Early Bird gets the worm'........and it's worth getting up early for! read more

Overall, I've been pleased with the overall venue (very informal, but pleasant), the decent variety of menu selections, the quality of the food itself, and the degree of service. I have only eaten at this location one time and I had a turkey sandwich. It was as good as you would expect a turkey sandwich to be so I wouldn't say it's not a good place to get lunch, just wasn't wowed. I came with my family. And this is the first time I ever came here. First off the food was amazing but there was a lot of mistakes on most of our orders. We had to take half the tables orders back because there was something wrong with it like my sisters fiancé had bacon in his bagel and we said no bacon because of religious reasons. And etc. also our waitress wasn't very welcoming. She wouldn't really give me a chance to ask her for something. And when I did ask her for something she wouldn't even say yea sure she would just stay quiet . I would have to scream across the room to ask something. She wears classes, she has a bun on right now and she has blue bootcut jeans on with a black shirt tucked in and a black belt. And she has a blue mask on. I had to go to the African American waitress and ask her for some things and she was amazing and so down to earth and really nice. I appreciated her a lot. I really wish she was the one taking care of my family and I. She has a black Apple Watch on and short black hair and I think a black headband. She's amazing! Also, she gave us no straws we had to ask the African American to give us. Other than the the food was amazing! Thank you YOU guys are five star for sure but that waitress of ours is a 1 start I'm sorry if I sound rude but it pissed me off how she was towards us.
