We were looking for a new breakfast place so we decided to check this out versus venturing all the way across town to either downtown or Mt. Pleasant since they seem to have the most options. There was a bit of a wait so that had to be a good sign we thought. The server was very abrupt to get our order but the menu was so big, we had no idea what we wanted especially being this was our first visit. Well she proceeded to not come back for a very long time. Apparently the table next to us had a minor mixup and they needed a replacement order to take home with them. When she finally did come back, she must have sensed our minor annoyance or annoyances of many tables because she completely changed her tune. The food was good though once it came out. We came in for breakfast around 9 AM on a Sunday. There was a wait as expected but they told us it would be 15-20 minutes but was actually only maybe 5 minutes. The atmosphere is very open and there are plenty of tables. All staff was very friendly. I decided to go with the French toast. It comes with 2 large pieces that are fairly thick. The French toast didn't have as much flavor as I would have hoped but the inside was firm which was great. I also liked that they have sugar free syrup as an option. My grandmother ordered the lemon pancakes which were fantastic! If I go back I will be ordering those. It comes with 2 very large pancakes with a large pile of lemon "paste?" On top to spread of the pancakes. Definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a good breakfast joint. read more

There was about a 15 minute wait so we walked to Earth Fare (never been there and will probably never go back). When we sat down, we were seated at a table that is in a high traffic area. It usually sits 4 and it was just the 2 of us so I opted to move to a different chair to avoid the traffic and potentially have food or drinks spilled on me (hey, it could happen). The food was really good. I can't remember the name of what I ordered, but I posted a picture and it was delicious. My BF ordered "The Works" and he said it was really good. The atmosphere was pleasant for a Sunday morning. It wasn't too loud, but there was enough conversation happening that I felt like I could speak normally with my BF across the table to talk to him. The bathroom was clean. Our server was nice and offered suggestions from the menu, which we took into account. She was also fairly knowledgeable about other items on the menu when we asked what something was. I did notice that some of the other employees bringing food out to the tables didn't seem to be smiling or didn't seem to be happy to be working that day. Great place for breakfast or brunch. They were very busy so I recommend getting on the waitlist before you arrive. I had the cheese grits and Floridian French toast, The mixed berry compote that came with it was amazing. My husband got the biscuits with turkey gravy potatoes and eggs. We also tried the million dollar bacon. It had a great flavor but wasn't crispy enough for our liking but that's just because of the syrup that they drizzle over the top. Let me start this review off with the service: HONEST AWESOMENESS. I wish I could remember my waitresses name, however she was very pleasant from our initial meeting. Very prompt with bringing my coffee. She gave me time to make my mind up about the order and even helped me on settling on a breakfast selection: turkey sausage gravy and biscuits. I was very excited about this selection because I'm not a pork eater and I haven't found this option anywhere outside of my own kitchen. Well let's just cut right to the chase; it wasn't that delicious. The biscuits were warm and pillowy, but the gravy is void of flavor. I tried a couple of bites but gave up after two. I pushed the plate away and had resigned myself to eating my over medium egg and drinking my coffee. Well my waitress came by and immediately asked if I was ok with the food. I lied and told her it was ok. She obviously didn't believe me; at the same time the manager came by and said we can't let you leave here hungry. So she put in an order of the French toast, assured me it would be out in no time. I believe I waited maybe five minutes and the French toast was on my table. We ordered belgian waffle, "carrot cake" pancakes (I know, right?), and eggs benedict. They were all a little weird -- the belgian waffle was the closest to "normal." Thinking back, I really don't see the logic in packing up the kids and taking them to a restaurant being less demanding on my sanity than staying at home in my PJs to cook. My husband and I tried this place while we were in Tampa. We found they were opened here in Charleston as well and had to check it out. The only time we could try it was 1:30 on a Tuesday, an hour before they closed. We got the candied bacon and somehow scored a free Cobb salad. The bacon is the best part of this place and well worth the cost! I could eat that all day! The Cobb salad was fresh but not as flavorful. The ranch it came with was maybe more yogurt based than real ranch. I got the farmhouse hash with poached eggs. One egg yolk was over cooked but the other was nice and runny. I thought the hash portion tasted butter since a lot of things in it had been burned a little. Not too fond of it this time. My husband got the chickie as the server called and a side of biscuits and gravy. I wasn't fond of the turkey gravy but the biscuit was nice and fluffy. The gravy was too meaty tasting for me rather than seasoning and cream. Almost like hash meat with how the color of the gravy was. The most important thing about our visit was how AWESOME our waitress Farrah was!!! She was always a step ahead of our wants and needs. She was definitely the reason we ordered extra, and we was NEVER disappointed!!! The food was delicious. We both had the waffle trifecta. The waffle was thick but light. It comes with a warm berry compote and I promise that's all you need. Between the sweetness of the waffle and the compote no syrup was used. Even the eggs were scrambled perfectly! Food here is excellent. This was the second time my wife and I had eaten here. We walk in, were shown to a booth, then things started to go awry. My wife noticed a sticky spot on the table and mentioned it to the server. She proceeded to tell us she didn't know what that was about rather than saying "let me take care of that for you". We placed our orders--my wife wanted 2 sausage and 2 bacon with her breakfast, and french toast. I ordered a carrot cake pecan pancake with my order. My wife got 4 strips of bacon, NO sausage, and a berry compote for her french toast. She asked for "maple" syrup, which was provided by the manager on duty after he stated "I got you". He got us alright--we weren't informed that there's a difference between regular syrup and requesting maple; my wife assumed that it was all the same so we got upcharged because she asked for the normal flavor. On top of that, there wasn't ANY syrup brought for my pancake--WHO SERVES PANCAKES WITHOUT OFFERING SYRUP?!!! Server thought to bring us some extra napkins, but really couldn't be bothered to ask if everything was good. We ate our meal (which, as I've said, the food is great), and I and my wife used the facilities to clean up afterward. She had the displeasure of dealing with cleanser that was sprayed all over the sink, so she had the choice of wiping it off or getting cleanser all over the front of her top. When she mentioned this to the servers (who at this time were going through pre-closing motions), they basically had the attitude of "we're closing--deal with it". My wife also needed to take some medication after eating, and asked a different server who was going through the aforementioned pre-closing motions, for a napkin--which was greeted with an eye roll and a look that basically screamed "can you just leave already?". My wife expressed her displeasure at the attitude, and our server actually LAUGHED at it!!! Upon paying the bill, we explained to the manager our issues of the sausage and the upcharge for syrup (he took off the charge for the syrup, after we explained we were not aware it was an upcharge), and he gave answers of "we don't do split meat orders", which the server should've told us that it would have to be an extra side of meat. My wife at this time was approaching furious. We got to hear how this restaurant is "the best one in the area". Definitely not for public relations. My wife was upset enough that when she said to the manager--who walked us out to lock up--that we weren't coming back--his response was "Please don't". Who says that to upset and frustrated customers?!!! Diffuse the situation--don't stab the people who just spent money at your establishment. The two stars are for the exceptional food ONLY--you REALLY need to provide better service and public relations. I'm sure Mount Pleasant and Dorchester don't have service and public relations issues--number one? Maybe financially, but on a person to person level--not so much. We normally go to Eggs Up Grill for special day meals--THEY don't have poor attitudes or service--they're always happy to give the best service they can. read more

This is definitely a cute little farmhouse place to eat. The decor is super cute and the food is pretty delicious. The million dollar bacon was was good...I wouldn't say out of this world but a different spin on bacon. My daughter ordered the smoked salmon tzatziki toast was amazing (see picture). Plenty of salmon to go around on that toast. I ordered the Floridian French Toast which comes with this delicious raspberry compote that is warm...mmmmmm it was so good. Plenty of fresh fruit on top. The portion was so big I took half of it home. Next up on the menu was the skillet hash which my mom ordered. In her words "these potatoes are soooooo good" The food and portion sizes will not disappoint and go hand in hand with the prices.
