My sister and her husband wanted to take me & mom out for breakfast and this was their favorite place and I can see why. At the entrance we were immediately greeted and asked if we could get a table outside since it was a beautiful sunny day. Shortly after we ordered some of their drink specialties. I had the Red Medicine and it was very refreshing! The menu looked good and we wanted to try some of their side dishes along with our regular meal, so we ordered the cinnamon roll, a single pancake, and waffle and shared it. The cinnamon roll had some good sprinkles on it and was pretty good. I think the favorite was the pancake. The pancake had a cornmeal type texture which we all enjoyed. The waffle was good too, light and crisp. I ordered the works omelet and it was good! I also enjoyed the million dollar potatoes that came with it - so good! My sister had the frittata and her husband had the double crunch tacos while mom enjoyed the elevated egg sandwich. Over all, it was good food, good service and a great atmosphere, I hope to come back and have breakfast here again. Hopefully, if you visit this place, you'll enjoy the experience as well. I love First Watch and have waited patiently for this location to open. Unfortunately it was a bit of a let down for me. Service was less than stellar and we waited and waited before our waiter finally showed up. I was bummed to find they had no seasonal menu because they were new, he said they weren't doing them yet. We ordered the breakfast tacos and breakfast sandwich which were both great. The location was clean but felt a bit smaller than other locations. We've been dining at First Watch for years at different locations in Arizona. The last two times we have been to the Surprise location the food has been well below par. Yesterday I had chimchera steak hash. Looked good on the plate but had very little taste and extremely salty. I think it's time we moved on , there's plenty of alternatives locally. Well worth the 30 minute wait. The food was great. I ordered the summer strawberry tres leches French toast with a side of seasoned potatoes. My husband ordered The Works omelette with toast and potatoes. The potatoes were chunky, lightly seasoned and crispy. They were so good! The French toast was amazing. It had a dulce de leche sauce ( could have used more:) and gingerbread crumbles. The crumbles elevated the dish. It went perfect with the strawberries. I will be trying that at home. The omelette was well cooked and tasty. Can't wait to go back and try something else. My only "complaint " is that it is very loud. It's not easy to have a conversation but it's not a deterrent. This is a newer First Watch located right off the 303/Waddell interchange in Surprise. This location was very busy on a Wednesday with a 20-minute wait for a table. Horrible place! Went this morning to the one off of Bell in Surprise. Waited along time for table. Put us outside. Table next to us not cleaned up and a bunch of dirty pigeons eating off the plates. Nobody came by to offer us water etc. We were sitting for at least 30 minutes again with nobody coming by our table. To parties walked in after us and both tables got immediate attention. I complained and asked for a manager and nobody came out. After 30 minutes we got up and walked out. Never again will I go there. read more

Today was the VIP opening day and I was totally impressed! First off, the layout and interior are perfect. Wide open layout with a large bar, a good sized patio, and an outdoor bar as well. Being their first day open, I expected the experience to be a little bumpy but it was actually the opposite. The servers and staff were very friendly and on top of everything. Food came out quick, our additional requests were accommodated immediately, drinks were refilled timely, and the food was great! Everything was very fresh and high quality. I tried, i really wanted to like this place but after 3 trys with unsanitary dishes...i gave up. Lost my appetite. Tried to bill me for the coffee in a dirty cup that I didnt even drink too. My husband and I went there the morning of July 8, we love going there. The food was great, our server Simone was awesome. However to us the first point of contact makes a big difference in the friendliness of any establishment. Your hostess that morning does need training in customer service. We were the third in line and we notice as friendly as the others before us was, your hostess made us feel like we were a bothersome to be there. No smile, no friendly greeting and would not look at us in the eye. Maybe it's the generation, the lack of respect. We didn't even see a manager walking around to greet customer and to see if everything was okay. Then the cashier was also as cold as ice. It doesn't hurt to give a little smile and be a little friendly. Maybe it's the fault of the management of improper training. But then again it could be the younger generation who's there just to collect a paycheck. I really enjoyed my experience. They had just recently opened but I didn't feel any of the growing pains experience. The food was reasonably priced and my wife and I finished our entire meals. They have some unique mixed drinks to try out, my wife got the purple one, some lavender lemonade, and she loved it. The server was cheerful and chatted with us, even though she was really busy and the restaurant, while busy, was well kept and bright. Our server, Simone hit every touch point and could not have been more friendly, knowledgeable or more efficient. Whenever my family is visiting my sister and her family in Surprise, we go to First Watch. We actually got it delivered this time; we didn't feel like dragging the kids out in the heat. The food arrived piping hot and was delicious as always. The Mexican street corn burrito was excellent! I got the pesto chicken quinoa bowl, a personal favorite of mine. The kids got pancakes and bacon and eggs and loved it. This place is fun and has healthy yet savory options to choose from. We only wish there was a location out here in California! It was my first time visiting First Watch and the food was excellent, I got the Traditional Breakfast (nice good portion of bacon ) my wife got the lemon ricotta pancakes, both were so incredible and delicious. I've been to First Watch before- today is a holiday - the restaurant is busy and it's too loud! You can't hear yourself think or anyone talking to you. The BLTE was tasty but needed to be toasted. The million dollar potatoes, delicious. The price was fair for the food you get! The service is okay - I sat at the bar and had to flag down the server for another drink. Sadly, the bathroom was not clean this trip and that's always important to me especially at a restaurant. When paying at the kiosk, they didn't ask how my experience was, likely they know it wasn't great. So, overall I was disappointed. Hope they improve, especially the cleanliness & sound issue!
