I was invited to meet a couple friends at First Watch for breakfast/lunch. Upon arriving the place is very inviting and decorated nicely. The menu seemed ok but nothing really jumped out to me. The place is pretty loud so the conversation was a little bit of an issue with my party. I ordered the Tri-Fecta. Two eggs, two bacon, and 1 plain multigrain pancake. When our order arrived I was presented with a large plate with 2 eggs (scrambled) and 2 bacon. Apparently the pancake wasn't quite ready once everyone's order was ready. That was fine but such a small amount of food on such a large plate was funny looking. Everyone else seemed to be fine with their order but the small portions on my plate were the talk of the table at first glance. The eggs were overdone and bacon was limp. Perhaps ordering the bacon well done would be the way to go if you like a little crispness to it. The pancake arrived and a little edge was hanging off the side. I tried several times to shift the pancake into a more convenient place on the plate. Basically, the pancake wasn't having any part of that. It simply fell apart. lol I slathered butter over it and a decent amount of syrup but it was very dry. I guess the "multigrain" had something to do with it. Is that supposed to be healthy or something? I have no idea of the appeal of a multigrain pancake. Clearly, if I'm ordering a pancake with butter and syrup (dessert for breakfast) I'd rather have a flat out pancake. The staff was ok but nothing special. Our waitress made it clear that she woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I don't think she cracked a smile once. Grumpfest! The prices were a little high but not too bad. Overall it was nice to see friends. I'm not one to complain (and I didn't while I was there) but it was a simple breakfast and none of it was that satisfying. I clearly ordered the wrong thing. This place NEVER gets anything right. I've given multiple chances on my deliveries, and the bag is taped shut. So it's up to the EMPLOYEES to check and make sure everything is there. I am ALWAYSSSSS missing an item that's actually included in the meal. No point to even choosing how you want your eggs cooked. I get over easy and they are completely cooked all the way through. May as well ask for boiled eggs. I'm absolutely done with the place. Don't waste your time or money. read more

Visiting Vero Beach we searched Yelp for brunch spots. Intrigued by what appeared to be chef-inspired menu items online, we used the App to reserve space in line. We dined Sunday between 9:30-10:30 and I suspect this is one of their busiest days/times? Upon arrival we struggled to get to hostess standing in doorway taking names. Seated quickly once able to connect to staffer, waitress was pleasant but quite rushed from the moment we were seated. Coffee options limited to pot of brewed coffee or cold brew. Water comes without ice-it was warm -but staff so busy getting a glass of ice not possible. The pop by our table was so quick there was no time to answer before she was off again. Breakfasts were very attractive and quite tasty with exception of my toast, heavily seasoned with salt and/or garlic salt. (When asked by waitress if everything had been good-food delivered by another staffer-she seemed a bit rattled when I asked if toast was supposed to be salted. I just let her know it was way too salty to eat-likely related to busy kitchen being in a rush? Not too big an issue for me to skip my toast, though I would have asked for an unsalted piece if it had been possible.) Frittata was exceptional however and accompaniment of lemon-coated spring mix was perfect. My pet peeve-slimy greens-only noted on a couple pieces. Wasn't too rich, just perfect amount of sauce. Skillet enjoyed by companion looked marvelous. Hers was a HUGE portion-really too much to eat. We saw an ENORMOUS avocado toast at nearby table large enough for two people easily- (for us 4 could have shared it.) LOTS of young families in this crowded dining room. The noise level progressively rose until conversation at our table was impossible. Waitress dropped check and left. Front desk confirmed payment on the way out. Overall it felt like a chain restaurant trying to offer upscale menu choices but at too hectic of a pace and crowded dining to pull off brunch well. (This is not somewhere to linger.) Eat & run-yes, absolutely. Have a bunch of kids, large group or want a fast, casual tasty option -this is a perfect fit. FYI- Floor space very tight so navigating to restroom is a challenge. Very clean throughout including restrooms though. read more

Some plates are good, some are not, is a hit or miss, I got the quinoa power bowl and it was horrible, the quinoa was dry, flavorless. Pancakes on the other hand were decent. Don't recommended the bowls. read more

We'll, we finally got in to eat here today. Only a 10 minute wait. Coffee was good, did have to ask twice for water. Service was good, food came really quick. Our food was excellent. So why just two stars - I originally ordered Eggs Benedict and asked to have the eggs poached hard. I was told that they do not do that, they only poach medium. REALLY??? IT is only a matter of 2-3 more minutes. Probably will not return, too many other places serving Eggs Benedict willing to grant a customer's request to poach an egg hard. read more

I usually avoid chains but we wanted to get away from the resort and I'm glad we did! We checked in on the waitlist in Yelp and when we walked in we were next in line (the wait for those who had walked in ahead of was 15-20 minutes). The service was great- our waiter was on top of things. We sat outside and thought it would slow service down but they were constantly checking in. My wife and I have been coming here for at least 2 years. The past 4 times we've been have been a horrible experience. We were watching servers run around frantic, hearing yelling coming from the kitchen, later find out it is from the manager who greeted us at the door, and also I see employees scrubbing floors and ceilings in the middle of the shift while we are waiting for service. There was an employee on latter cleaning ceilings above food. My wife and I were sitting close to kitchen and we saw everything. Upon arrival we were greeted at the door by a woman, short blonde hair, she was extremely rude and rolled her eyes at my wife. We late found out she was the new manager, when we asked our server to speak to a manager while paying and she pointed at the same woman. We knew Kyle from years past he was always very friendly and personable . We came again last Sunday and the same manager was rolling her eyes at my wife as she was taking her name down, she was yelling at the girls up front in front of costumers . I've been retired 15 years and I've never seen a more chaotic staff and restaurant . We miss the way the place used to be ran, staff seems unhappy and so were we. read more

Well. As most often in Vero, disappointed. I've been to First Watch all over. A safe go to for breakfast and lunch. I had never been disappointed; until now. We arrived on a Sunday at 12:30. Wait was not too bad. Everything after was. We never even were given water. Our server was ok, overwhelmed so not very attentive. We waited 15 minutes, at least, for breakfast items. Simple eggs, waffle and bacon. All grossly undercooked. Then asked for toast, that came out as bread with butter. For a new restaurant, not a manager in sight walking around to see how it was running. Two stars was nice. read more

Once again, we had a good breakfast/lunch. I enjoyed the roast beef and havarti sandwich, but substituted that cheese with Gruyere, as the havarti had horseradish in it, which I don't particularly care for. It was on parmesan-crusted grilled sourdough, accompanied by grilled potatoes. Very good. I had to take half of my meal home. The coffee is good. The service is attentive, and the place clean, however, loud. Oh well. I've never had a bad meal there. One thing: my Mom's elevated egg sandwich had bacon on it that seemed to be either old, or of the shelf-stable variety. Im quite sure the bacon is cooked first thing in the morning and put aside to make room for the flat-top for pancakes and potatoes. I don't really know. The bacon was like a chewy snack for a pup. Absolutely terrible experience. I understand people eating in the restaurant without masks at their tables. However, I picked up to-go food and a whole line of people in front of me at the register were there without masks. I waited outside to go in when the line at the register subsided. I told the hostess they should ask people to wear masks when they're not at the table. She said "oh, it's OK". I said, "it's not OK, it's everyone's safety.". If this restaurant doesn't care about my health, I'm not going to support the operations during buy so-so food with my money anymore. read more

And don't you dare walk out without trying their millionaire's bacon, my mouth is watering just writing that. If you're in the mood for something sweet and refreshing, their acai and superfoods bowls are so delicious and crave-worthy. This spot is definitely on the pricier end as compared to other breakfast and lunch places in the area, but the food is all excellent quality. I was happy to get a First Watch to our lovely city Vero Beach. The decor is beautiful, relaxed with Florida coastal themes. Breakfast is around $10 plus drinks. We ordered pancakes and my wife had a egg on hash. My whole grain pancakes were excellent. There are nuts or something in the mix so the texture is quite nice. They serve it with warm syrup, a very nice touch. Our hot tea came with a pitcher of hot water. My wife's hash was a bit over cooked with a few charred pieces. We let the server know and they returned quickly with another one. The manager apologized and removed the item from the check. EXCELLENT SERVICE. I look forward to our return. read more

This place never disappoints. My husband and I have been coming here on our annual Vero Beach vacation for the past three years, and the food and service are always excellent. We have visited various First Watch restaurants in our home town and other cities we've traveled to, but I think this particular location has great quality control on their food -- typically the seasoned potatoes in breakfast restaurants can be a hit or miss, including some of the other First Watch locations. Not here though... these have been cooked to perfection every time we have visited. Their servers also provide great hospitality, so it's always a rewarding experience dining in here. Waitress said she discussed with the issue with the manager, and she also noted others had same complaint, yet no offer was made to replace the potatoes. My wife loved her egg white omelet. I felt like the food was good but overpriced. The iced coffee was delicious. Plenty of specials and loved the atmosphere.

UPDATE: My 2nd visit experience was colored by an environment that was seriously uncomfortably hot. At 2pm it was hotter inside the restaurant than outside. Hosts said the AC system was not broken. We were dying just from sitting still, all servers were sweating buckets. The food was mediocre. Potatoes kind of tasteless, the eggs Benedict sauce was not good (too acidic and not creamy). Some stuff was good like the fruit was super fresh and the jam was good. Service had major problems. Slow despite being very staffed, tables next to us not bussed for 30 minutes, TONS of staff just standing around both in the front and the back?? We didn't get checked up on very much. Overall at these prices I expect way more. Breakfast for 2 was almost 40$ if you include the tip!! read more

It took a while for me to try this place, because it just looks like your typical chain breakfast restaurant from the outside. To be honest, we ended up there because TooJay's was packed. This was a great find. Very unique breakfast items on the menu. This isn't your typical breakfast special, two sausage, two eggs, hash brown restaurant. I'm a regular there and the service is usually good. This is the first time that I was irritated with poor service. I sat at the counter and I was given a menu. 5 minutes after I sat, another man sat 2 stools past me and a young blond waitress came over and took his order first. She could have at least thought that I already had a menu. She knew this man and I have to assume that is why she took his order first. I ordered breakfast well done and it did not come out well done. I am usually offered a fruit cup because I don't order all the sides, and she did not. An extra napkin would be nice because otherwise you have to lay your utensils on the counter. NOT PLEASED read more

What a great addition to the neighborhood. The food was delicious. They have an extensive menu, everything looked so good I had a tough decision ordering. I ended up with the northern Alaskan salmon frittata which was delightful. The atmosphere was light open and airy. I will most definitely return to try the rest. read more

Bring your patience cause she's already a hot spot, but the "reserve your place on the wait list" feature on their webpage is a game changer. You can get a cup of coffee while you wait too, which is just a great idea. Design is great. Servers were on their game. Bottom line, great food.
