Terrible dining experience. My friend and I had a 90 minute wait after ordering our food. Actually, it was a longer wait because the server finally admitted that they lost our order. Poor service, right? Food arrived 15 minutes later. It was cold, sloppily prepared, missing key ingredients that were listed on the menu. My friend ordered her scrambled eggs cooked soft but they were hard and cold (like you'd find at a really bad buffet). The kitchen just didn't read the ticket both times we ordered our food. First Watch runs their restaurants like a puppy mill. Go for volume and turnover. Server offered us an apology, comped our meals, and offered each of us a $20 gift card. It felt like this was damage control that was relatively routine. Franchise restaurants are typically inconsistent. Try local restaurants instead that offer fresh and creative dishes for a better dining experience. read more

This past weekend I had a great experience at this establishment. The restaurant is clean and very bright with adequate spacing. Our service was handled by a professional and kind server who introduced himself as AJ. While trying to decide what to order, I was describing what foods I enjoyed, and I remarked that I love spicy food, so he pointed out a new dish they were offering- the Asian pork belly breakfast. Which was fantastic! I'm very glad he did. When I asked if it could make it slightly spicier than usual he said it wasn't a problem. Which is a small thing but always makes me appreciative. My friend ordered the traditional breakfast, and while a much more simple dish it was made and presented equally well. I look forward to maybe making this a weekly ritual. Pretty nice place. Came on a Sunday for brunch. We were seating right next to a window. I loved the sunlight coming in. Our waitress was nice. The food tasted fresh however I feel like the portion was small. I ordered the Eggs Benedict that was written on the "specials" chalkboard. The eggs benny came with a side of salad. I believe it was arugula, which is not something I'm crazy about.But I understand that it was supposed to be a healthier choice. I just wish it was more filling, It could've also used more avocado. Nice breakfast spot with great options. Their selection includes several healthy options, as well as daily features consisting of cleverly crafted skillets, breakfast meats (a personal favorite is Million Dollar Bacon -- seriously, try it), and other sweet items. Very casual, albeit nice interior, and though the restaurant isn't huge, you never feel cramped. Service has been good each time, and even on weekends the wait times are reasonable, especially for smaller parties. Add it to your regular breakfast rotation. read more

After a nice birthday for my Grandfather in Galion, Ohio, I suggested First Watch for brunch on the way home to Indianapolis as it was on the way and smack dab in my "old stompin' grounds" of Worthington, Ohio on the north side of Columbus. We were seated after about 20 minutes, which wasn't too bad considering it was Sunday morning. I found the service to be excellent from top to bottom and was impressed with the diversity of options. I ordered a lone blueberry pancake with some seasoned potatoes. The pancakes were just the right ratio of crispy and spongy and reminded me that restaurants seem to have some kind of secret recipe to make pancakes just perfect. My only complaint would have to be the calorie count - a single pancake tipped the scale at 460 calories (according to their website). I probably would have to pass next time, that's a little "too rich for my blood" as they say. My sister had the "Not Guilty Your Honor" wrap, which included mushrooms, tomatoes, red peppers, spinach and cucumber - she swapped out the feta for avocado. She offered up half of it to me and it was just the right blend of tastes. My mom slid over part of her sandwich, the Veggie Grill, with mushrooms, zucchini and spinach and pest mayo. Another great choice. All in all, I was impressed with First Watch. I have heard there are some locations in Indianapolis and I would be inclined to give them a try. read more

I met a colleague here the other day at his suggestion for breakfast. Long story short, this place had the potential for a great review, if not for it's chain status and location. For those who don't know, I am a breakfast fan. If I were a drug user, it would be my crack, my heroin, my K2. I generally hate early mornings, but mention breakfast and I find pleasure in getting up before daybreak. The first thing I found about this place is that it is hard to find if you are not familar with the Worthington Mall. I am not sure if it was early morning, but the area appeared to be pretty desolate and bare. The decor of the diner itself is pretty bland, pretty much booths, tables, and chairs. The server was exceptional, seating me promptly, making sure to inquire how we were doing today, etc. She made sure we had our drinks brought to us and provided us with the daily specials. She checked in periodically on us to make sure everything was okay. Food was served without a long wait. Service in itself gets a 5/5 I ordered an omelet and it was okay, nothing that was stick to your ribs or really wowed me as far as size or flavor. The accompaning potatoes did even less to add a meledy to this tune that was called breakfast. They were more of a fried potatoe cube than the typical sliced and pan fried breakfast potatoes. The meal was neutral, nothing stellar, but nothing horrible either. The Sunrise Select coffee was like a fine wine though, the perfect compliment to a meal. It was a light blend, not too acidic or too heavy. Will I go back again? Yes. Will it be a regular must go to place if I have other options? Sadly, no. read more

This was our first experience at First Watch as we were in the area visiting family. Our party of four stopped for brunch on a Sunday. Slight wait; nothing unreasonable for day & time of visit. Love the self-serve coffee station in the waiting area. I wish more places did this. Our server was friendly but a little slow. He did not return to check on the meal until we were nearly halfway through. Fortunately, everything was good though my sourdough bread could have been slightly more toasted. The home fries & bacon were very good. Since we were greeted at the mall entrance and seated within the separate dining room at the front, we did not know our server would not be collecting our payment and needlessly waited some time before learning our error. Having read the other reviews for this location, it would seem staff training, supervision, or both may not be adequate. I highly doubt that all of the reviews that found service lacking were in regards to just one server. And I also agree with one review in particular that suggested the cumulative effect of the "little things" may add up to a negative experience. Had my service experience been better, I would probably have rated First Watch five stars. I can also understand why, if other reviewers had a similar service experience to mine but also had even the smallest of issues with their food or the accuracy of the order, a rating of three stars would be given. Excellent service in this day and age is a tremendous undertaking but not an impossible one. Just understand that, in my opinion, First Watch may be at a tipping point between exceptional and mediocre. More recent reviews than this will indicate which way the scales have tipped. read more

I stopped at this First Watch for brunch because I was shopping in the area. I've always had great experiences at other First Watch locations, both with the food and the service. I was not greeted even though someone was standing at the register. I sat at the community table with two other people who were finishing up and waited for someone to come over. Multiple employees walked right past and didn't even make eye contact. After a while someone said in passing, without looking at me, somebody will be over here. Finally the person at the register came over and said "do you know what you want to order?". I still thought things would turn around. Nope. Not quite sure who my server was as items were brought by various people. No one came back to check, other to drop off the check. Food was ok, it as good as it usually is. I paid and still tipped the "server". Even when I paid J wasn't asked how everything was or even thanked. Only reason I gave it three stars it because the young guy who brought my juice and check was very nice. Maybe today was a fluke, but I surely won't be back to find out. I will go back to First Watch, just not this one. The one is Gahanna is awesome! Every single time. read more

we were here for lunch on a monday and was greeted almost immediately. we were sat down at a booth/table. our server was attentive and very efficient. we received our food about 15 minutes after being seated and it was great. service and food were great, but i am giving 3 stars due to what we witnessed as we were finishing our meal. the table next to us had just left so it was not yet clean. a party of 4 walked in and instead of waiting at the host stand, they proceeded to sit down at the dirty table and WATCHED as the gentleman hurried to clean the table. i thought this was extremely rude and unnecessary. it wasn't like there was a long line, they could've waited but instead they sat and watched as this man hurried to clean their table then looked at him with disgust as he walks away. though, i know it was not entirely the restaurant's fault i felt like it could've been handled differently and respectfully. read more

Bad experience... food was absolutely awful. Two of our skillet meals arrived cold and ingredients were missing. Artisan bread was stale and had old moldy taste. Specialty juice selections tasted atrocious. Truly disappointing. I frequently go to the Pickerington location and their staff and kitchen are exceptional! Came here on a Saturday with a group of friends and the place was packed. Expect a line if you are coming here to grab a weekend brunch. Excellent brunch place to come with family/friends. very friendly staff and attentive service. The food is excellent and the portions are big. Our waitress was AWOL during most of this. Eventually she appeared out of nowhere and told us she would check on our food, only to return and tell us it would be a little while longer. Our server did not show up for at least 10 minutes after we were seated to even take a drink order. When we were finished, it took her over 20 minutes to circle back and get us our check. The host gave us a wait time of 20-30 minutes and informed us that we'd receive a text when our reservation was ready. After waiting 45 minutes we finally went inside, after seeing many people get seated BEFORE us that arrived 20 minutes AFTER us.
