Bowl
Oliver L.

We were on this side of town and my family decided on this. It was good, no complaints! My fish pieces seemed as fresh as can be without catching it myself. The staff members were friendly! Explained everything in detail which is awesome for first timers and people that are curious. Seating outside in the evening shade was a nice touch! Nice folks, food was good and the environment was great.

Regular Poke Bowl

We recently tried this new Poke spot in Palladio. The place is really nice and has a great vibe. Since it was our first time, they did a really great job of explaining all the different types of fish and poke. I went with a regular bowl with three scoops - salmon, hamachi and the poke of the day which was a creamy spicy mix. I loved the toppings, especially the green apple which gave it an amazing crunch and crisp sweetness. If you don't know what you want they also have some signature bowls to choose from. Since I'm trying to eat healthier, I also loved the Zoodle base - no wasting calorie on rice! My husband went big with the large bowl and they didn't skimp. He had lots of extra spicy mayo that he loved. It's a family-owned and run business and the owners were there. They were super nice and friendly and we love what they've created. We look forward to going back again soon!

Spicy tuna handroll
Nemrah A.

This is my first time ordering at fish and things and I wasn't very hungry so I ordered the spicy tuna handroll. I can say that it probably is one of the best spicy tuna I've ever had. It actually had a good kick to it where I feel like most spicy tuna are very toned down. I would recommend it on your poke or just getting this handroll! The presentation of it was also very nice! Very fancy with the edible flower

Super healthy Bowl today. Double Salmon and 1 Hamachi with spring mix, zucchini noods, apple, ginger, jalapeños, and double cucumbers. Super refreshing ! Great non seafood items for kids ( they always get teriyaki chxn and rice. bonus STAFF is super friendly and genuine

Crispy salmon skin rice box - if you like salmon skin hand rolls. You'll like this !

This place served fresh ingredients and really helpful team members! My friend and I came in for lunch and we couldn't decide which one to try because they had so many options. Luckily the helpful team member gave us a few suggestions. We decided to try their crispy salmon skin rice box and the Bruceville roll. The rice box had perfectly crisp salmon skin -which I love! And the sushi roll was fresh and was perfect to share between the two of us. Definitely considering going back to try their tacos and poke bowls next time.

What they don't have in variety, they make up in the freshness and quality of ingredients. We're visiting the area from the SF Bay Area and are used to poke places that have a greater variety of toppings and mix-ins at a lower price. The quality of the fish here and the good sushi rice make it a worthwhile stop. Service is very fast and friendly. When we arrived there were very few customers in the place, but all the workers were busy behind the counter packing take out orders. While we were dining, the restaurant began to fill up. The restaurant is clean and modern looking with a nice parklet outside for Al fresco dining if the weather is fine.

Chicken teriyaki and salmon skin plate

Great food and good service! My husband says their bowls are as good as if we were in Hawaii. I usually eat the cooked food so I got the chicken teriyaki and it was delicious! My husband always gets his favorite cooked salmon skin plate. Highly recommend if you're looking for good sushi and poke bowl!

This was my first time and it was amazing. The staff was so welcoming and helpful in explaining everything. I love places like this but I like my salmon COOKED and they do that. The salmon was cooked perfectly. Will definitely be coming back. They are also doing some other cooked items that I am excited to try.

Classic poké
Stan T.

Friendly staff, great location, beautiful space and relaxing music creates a nice vibe. It checked off all the boxes for me - until I took that first bite. I ordered the classic poké. It looked classic enough. Just some soy sauce, onions, macadamia, sesame oil. None of the overstuffing with sides that you get with non-traditional poké. This is exactly what I was looking for. I was disappointed at how salty this was. The amount of soy sauce and sesame oil was pretty intense and it was difficult to eat. But for $23 I wasn't about to waste it and forced myself to finish it. After the meal, I ended up going somewhere to get dessert just to counter that salty taste that kept on lingering. Like I said, I really wanted to like this place and I hope to have a better experience food-wise if I ever make it back here.

I AM BEYOND EXCITED that we now have a Fish & Things here in Folsom I no longer have to drive to Elk Grove. It's located right next to the movie theatre you CANNOT miss it. Such a fresh look as well as FRESH POKE! I'm a local girl and this taste so fresh and Mayn their crab salad ONO!!! And right when you walk in old school Hawaiian music playing makes me feel back at home. The service was very welcoming you can definitely feel the aloha I think I saw the owner which seem like a local guy as well shoots Braddah mahalo for the ono grindz.

They have been open for 5 days. A franchise started in Elk Grove, San Diego and San Jose. Very welcoming owner who sat with us to chat about poke and the business! Very clean and comfortable dining area. Owner's Tip for next visit is to try the Salmon skin with creamy sesame sauce! We enjoyed our poke bowls, fish is fresh and delivered daily from Hawaii! We love the many variations of poke and so many choices of sauces!! Definitely will return! Mahalo Ruben and LeslieAnn!

Actual is rating is 4.5 and this was cause of an order mix up. Saw a social media posting of the soft opening for the new location and the posts looked great( shoutout to the person who is in charge of your IG handle). We weren't sure if they'd be taking orders as we were going to arrive 20 mins before closing. The online ordering was smooth and got confirmation and updates pretty quick. We got there on a weekday at 7:30pm so parking was easier to find, typically the Palladio can be super busy and you have to park further out (the restaurant is located at a pretty prime spot). It is all free parking. When we arrived we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff, the space looked clean and inviting - providing both inside and outside seating space. We decided to order one of their prefixed and the other to build our own. Overall the food was great, good portions and fresh ingredients. Only thing was they mixed my order and gave me mixed greens instead of cucumber. My husband got their heat wave and he loved the combination. His only remark was the zucchini noodles felt like a filler. A friendly staff helped us pick out a drink which was very refreshing and checked in to see if anything else was needed. Decently priced given the quantity and fresh ingredients. Would come again and try other combinations as I felt the spicy salmon and spicy yuzu wasn't enough of a kick for me. They do have a vast menu and variety to pick from so looking forward to building another combination.

The interior is focused and intimate, utilizing wood booths and panel walls creating a serene space that is almost ritualistic in a peaceful and unwinding way. The waitress was very Kind to us and the chef was prompt. On top of our orders, the chef brought out carved fruit for our kids twice! Before and after our meals. We thought this was such a great gesture and make the kiddos happy and feel special. The food was great! Love that they have a protein section using no rice to skip the carbs. Their toro was fantastic, and the chef even placed 24k gold flakes on top when he presented the dish. This was a great experience and we cannot wait to return and enjoy another wonderful experience! Since it wasn't very busy when we arrived, we were seated right away. The dining room is fairly large, with a mix of tables, booths, and counter seating. Each table has a tablet for electronic ordering, but we decided to go old-fashioned and order through our server. We started with a large hot sake and six pieces of gyoza, asking our server to hold the entrées until we finished. The sake hit the spot and paired nicely with the gyoza. The gyoza tasted good but was just a bit harder than we'd like. For the main meal, I ordered a bento box with nigiri sushi and tempura, while the others chose a salmon teriyaki bento box and a Spicy Yellowtail Roll. My nigiri tasted fresh and nicely prepared. I also tried a piece of the Spicy Yellowtail Roll and found it to have a nice flavor profile. The salmon teriyaki was clean and sweet, with a natural salmon flavor, and was tender and juicy. The portions were generous, making for a satisfying meal, and everyone enjoyed their food, although my companions thought the tempura was a bit too oily. Despite the slightly firm gyoza and oily tempura, the good sake, generous portions, and relaxed atmosphere made for a very enjoyable lunch. The highlight for me was sipping the remaining sake and enjoying the nigiri.

Taste is subjective, and what one person finds delicious, another may not. However, there are certain universal aspects of dining, such as customer service, cleanliness, communication, and overall hospitality, that every restaurant should strive to deliver. My reviews reflect the complete experience, not just what's on the plate. We decided to try Hasu Teriyaki & Sushi in Folsom for the first time and brought the kids along. Unfortunately, the experience got off to a rough start. When we walked in, there were several open tables, but no one greeted us or explained whether we should seat ourselves or wait to be seated. A female employee saw us but didn't provide any direction, so we picked a table ourselves. After waiting for a bit with no acknowledgment, I had to get up and grab menus on my own. We spent about eight minutes deciding what to order (never easy with kids), but still no one came by. After another several minutes, I finally walked the few feet to the register and asked, "Are we supposed to order here or at the table?" The response was simply, "Yes, order here." After placing my order, I was immediately prompted to add a tip before receiving any service, which is something I personally find frustrating. Then I grabbed our cups to fill our drinks myself, only to find the ice machine was out of ice. At that point, it felt like we were striking out on every opportunity for a good first impression. It appears there's only one employee handling both the register and the dining area, which may explain some of the confusion. If that's the system, it would really help to have a sign letting customers know to seat themselves and order at the counter. There are only about seven tables inside, but without any guidance, the dining experience is confusing for first-time visitors. Once the food arrived, it was presented nicely. I ordered the Rainbow Roll and Dragon Roll, and visually they looked great. Unfortunately, I found the flavors to be underwhelming. The sushi was very mild, and even the wasabi had almost no heat. I added far more wasabi than I normally would, yet it barely had any kick. For someone who really enjoys sushi, the overall flavor just didn't stand out. The kids' non-raw rolls were also just average. To her credit, the employee did check on us twice after the food arrived, and she was friendly. I think she recognized that I was frustrated after spending roughly 15 minutes in the restaurant without any acknowledgment or explanation of how ordering worked. Overall, the experience wasn't terrible, but it wasn't one that makes me eager to return. Between the confusing service, lackluster first impression, and sushi that was simply average, I'd probably look elsewhere next time.
