I always recommend making a reservation as this location is always busy, also since many restaurants are closed on Mondays it is recommended to reserve on open table to prevent a long wait. Came here with a coworker on a Wednesday night, we didn't have a reservation. We ended up sitting at the bar, which was fine. It just always makes me laugh when staff likes to make you feel bad for not having a reservation. Like, come on... there were SO many open tables throughout the entire 90 minutes we were there. Anyway-- I got a glass of the house red wine for the happy hour special, it was good. And we got to squeak in an order of the Ahi Nachos, which I believe are only offered on Happy Hour, and OMG, they were SO good. We were still talking about them the next day. The "nachos" were like a fried wonton. And just all around, the entire dish was delicious! Spicy jalapeños, quality tuna. Go to this place, even JUST for these nachos. The spicy crab (or lobster, I can't remember) bisque, was also really good. I'd recommend it. Mildly spicy, not crazy. My coworker got the caesar salad, and was very underwhelmed with it. For my entree I got the Pesto Scallop pasta. The scallops were overcooked, and underwhelming, in size. But I acknowledge that could just be the season. Doesn't excuse the fact that they were overcooked. The pesto sauce was yummy! I give this place a solid 4 stars, and would definitely revisit next time I'm back in the area. Came in on a Saturday after walking around the farmers market wanted a place to sit down have a nice drink and some lunch. We all set up at the bar started off with bloody Mary's that were made excellent! We got the calamari for an appetizer and half dozen oysters with all the fixins. My husband made reservations for this restaurant on our anniversary and I'm glad he did. There were people trying to get a table and were told the wait would be long. Definitely get reservations even if it's a weekday dinner meal. Our server was one of the nicest servers I've ever had and was very good about checking in with us and giving recommendations. The ambiance is a mix between casual and semi casual as they have nicer tables and booths to sit in but their bar is right in the middle of their restaurant. For dinner we had the honey walnut prawns to start which I enjoyed. The sauce was not too sweet and the prawns were very big. The only take back is that the breading was way too thick on each of the prawns that I had to remove partially. We also got a house salad which was nice and refreshing and their dressing was not too heavy For mains I had the macadamia crusted halibut which I liked. The fish might be bland to some folks but I actually like it more on the bland side and paired it with the sauce or mango chutney for flavor. The macadamia nuts could've be n crushed a bit smaller for better texture or roasted to add a nice touch. The macadamia nuts were just sprinkled on top and didn't feel as connected to the dish. Asparagus was grilled perfectly. My husband got the scallops with pesto pasta and he really liked his dish. It only comes with four scallops but the pasta will fill you up. But I could definitely see someone still being hungry after that dish. For dessert, we got the seasonal pistachio gelato and the portion was huge! Met a friend here after work for dinner and a drink. We didn't have a reservation, but there was a great booth spot open in the bar area so we didn't have to wait. My friend is vegan and Scott's has a vegan menu! The vegan poke bowl is made with beets. I had the spicy crab bisque. I'm honestly confused by how highly rated this place is. I've been going to Scott's Seafood since the late 90s, back when it was down the street. I hadn't been in a long time, so I decided to give it another try. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. The menu is very simple but also oddly all over the place...everything from seafood classics to Vietnamese sandwiches. It felt like the menu included lower end items to appeal to everyone, while the higher quality dishes were priced much higher than they should be. I've been to other restaurants with similar offerings that were cheaper and just as good, if not better. The atmosphere is nice and feels like a higher-end restaurant, but the food didn't match that vibe. The calamari was some of the worst I've had. On the positive side, the sourdough bread was excellent. The waitress was also very friendly and did the best she could. Overall, the service and atmosphere were solid, but the food was disappointing for the price. read more

I'm not super into seafood in general, but they also have a Crab Bisque that I will go back for anytime. they have a really fantastic cocktail menu too. Went there last Friday night well before sunset as a "reward dinner", place was very lively, and a musical was playing some good music. The 3 of us sat outside, weather was perfect. I started with some crab bisque (it was good, but very unusual style-in a kind of red sauce that had no cream I could detect) and 4 Oysters Rockefeller, which were tasty. First place I've seen where you can order them by the "each"..think 3 or 4 is minimum size which can be ordered. Chose the 8oz Filet Mignon with demi-glace, asparagus, and a second side. The one brought on my plate was not what I ordered..same thing happened to my friend Melissa, got the carrots she ordered but came with a second side she had not chosen. All that being said, the steak was phenomenal, a bottle of wine my friend Charles brought was another highlight. Our server was fine and took good care of us. Only reason for 4star instead of 5star is the hiccups on our sides. Of course this is "fine dining" so it isn't cheap, but decent value for prices charged. read more

I normally order the food at Scott's to have at my favorite wine spot upstairs but today we decided to dine at Scott's in the patio to catch the sunset. Brent was our server and he is a sweet man who is over worked and tried to stay on top of everything. The food was a bit disappointmenting this time. How do you run out of black cod by 7 when that is your main item offer on the daily special menu? The Rockefeller oysters were seasoned well however one of the oysters were not fresh you can smell it. The tuna ahi was overdressed in sauce and paired with noodles that were overdone and extremely salty to eat. The fish n chips was sent back because it was undercooked and the fish was still translucent inside. No fault to our server but definitely needed a quality check in the kitchen. Also my martini came out warm, I had no desire to order a second drink. This was definitely not the best experience I had at this Scott's. And they close earlier now too. Bring good company and you will have a good time here even when the food is subpar. Have some great wine upstairs at Willamette before you start dinner is what I would recommend. read more

Located on Sutter street, Scott's Seafood house is a great place to celebrate any occasion. It's usually always packed so make sure to make reservations beforehand. The bread and butter they serve as you wait for your order is delicious. The bread has a chewy and crunchy outer layer but really soft inside. The raw oysters were sweet and fresh and their own hot sauce is really delicious! I ordered the pan seared scallop pasta. The scallops were a good size, quickly seared so it's not over cooked and laid on top of pasta with pesto sauce: while it was good, I think it would even be better with a different sauce that is more fresh tasting with a little tang - just my personal preference. I had a glass of Rosè which was also pretty good. We went on a Friday night so the place was a little loud with all the chatter but the ambiance is still pretty nice . read more

Took our grandson (15 yrs) to Scott's and he declared it's his new favorite restaurant! He and I split the oyster plate (amazing!) as a starter and he found out he could do a 1/2 & 1/2 of the clam chowder and spicy bisque and it was a winner! Hubby had the sole, I had the halibut and grandson had the sashimi plater - everything was fresh and well-prepared. We ended with the special Dubai chocolate dessert and esspresso for everyone. I love being able to come by for a drink and a light meal at the bar or a full course dinner with my date. I have been here multiple times and have always enjoyed my experience. The bar is a friendly place to meet new people and other locals. Great place to sit alone and feel welcomed ! We sat outside for a nice dinner out with our doggie and it had been raining pretty hard the morning of but by evening everything has cleared up and they had the heaters blasting! This is my family's go-to spot whenever we are all in El Dorado Hills and Serrano is closed. Even though it is a franchise, it never feels generic. It is one of the only places around where we can enjoy black sturgeon caviar and swordfish, and it also stands out for having a genuinely quality vegetarian menu, which is hard to find. The atmosphere inside is warm and inviting, but still feels lively, and the patio space is amazing, especially when there are live bands playing next door. Took my Sweetie to the Mother's Day Brunch and it was outstanding! Reservations are a must and well in advance. Service was excellent and there was a great selection of food. Some of my favorites were: spicy crab bisque, new england clam chowder, mixed seafood ceviche, chilled shrimp, oysters on the half, lox, macadamia nut halibut, sterling salmon (sauces on both fish were superb), tender and juicy prime rib and a great selection of desserts. Beautiful day to sit on the covered patio for lunch to celebrate our 30 year anniversary! -April was the perfect server- attentive, fun and very helpful. -my husband could not decide between two dishes so she let him know how he could have both, smaller portions. It worked out and he loved them both- Thai shrimp on skewers and fish and chips! -wine list was average, but we found the right choice for our lunch date. -and finished the lovely experience with a complimentary raspberry compote and the best vanilla bean ice cream! -thank you April and staff. On a recent Sunday brunch with some friends before catching an early matinee of a musical at the Harris Center, we had a few difficulties with some of the preparation of our food and some extremely slow service. Our waitress was beyond kind and attentive and profusely apologized for the significant delay in our food- we knew it was not her fault, but it definitely dampened the experience. One of the entrées that came out, when they did finally arrive, was quite burnt while another entrée had the wrong ingredients. All in all, this was my first impression of Scott's Seafood at this particular location and it wasn't the best one. Perhaps I will give it another shot in the future. read more

This will be two reviews in one. I have dined here with my husband numerous times and we love the food, service and atmosphere. Zero complaints. And here is why I am posting a review finally. We are planning a larger party and we thought this place would be on our short list of contenders but I had some questions about how they could accommodate some of our handicap family members and wheelchair accessibility and dietary restrictions. I had spoken to a few other places but didn't feel super confident. Today I spoke to a lady name Sofia and she answered all my questions, was so pleasant to talk to and explained all my options.
