The list of things that I really liked about fish cage where the hush puppies...............period. Between the shrimp, fries and catfish that we ordered. Everything was either over seasoned or over cooked in my opinion. I don't know about you but I don't enjoy eating hard food. Service-4 Food 3.5-4 ish Facility-4 clean I got a shrimp dinner (comes with 6 shrimp), fries, & bread. I added 2 pieces of fish to my order. Took about 20mins to receive my food. I read that they have long wait times. I ate my food in the car, it was fresh/hot, but my shrimp were a little greasy & fishy tasting. My catfish was good & cooked right, but it seemed a little mushy. I don't know that I'd go back, but I'm glad I tried it out. read more

The shop is tucked away in a small strip center... actually easy to miss, which would be a mistake. the ladies working the counter couldn't have been sweeter to me. Everything we ordered was amazing, and the staff was friendly and service was great. The food is super fresh, and always cooked to order. The banana pudding is also a must have. Came in on 2/22/23 Ordered the shrimp basket with fries and man was it good! Coworker ordered the #1 with the fried red snapper and for the price you cant complain. Lady in the front that took our order was very kind and always kept a smile. Idk why some past comments were negative but I can assume that this is a place of a hard working family who enjoy what they do. Besides not many places in north las vegas where you can get what they offer at the same price. Support your locals people! Will be making more lunch trips here soon! Only downside is the plaza its in located in isnt the prettiest sight but fish cage seems to be carrying it on their backs. Great job guys read more

In addition to mixed reviews there's a sign at the counter re-confirming new changes taking place August 1, 2018. Stopped by this to go only fish joint for a shrimp Po Boy $10 and some banana pudding dessert $3.50. The hoagie is a pretty generous size in my opinion for the price and I was very impressed by the 7 large sized shrimp. The sandwich definitely has five star potential but the aged cooking oil taste was a challenge for me today. The banana pudding was okay; nothing spectacular! I'm hopeful Fish Cage will execute the changes they've committed to and earn the additional stars they deserve in the near future. read more

Visited the Fish Cage for the first time. Customer service was great! The owners were very nice and accommodating. I ordered whiting, real catfish, crab balls, etc. here we go.... The whiting was great and fresh, the real catfish was really good. I came for the whiting so this made me happy. Here's the downsides... the potato salad had a very sweet aftertaste. The crab balls were decent but a bit too much salt. I like that u get a buttery toasted bun but the butter has a weird taste to it which made me wonder if it was real butter. No oysters when I went, but I'd definitely go back to try the other things. I like this place read more

Okay, I've been looking for quality fried Red Snapper in Las Vegas for 2 years now. Finally, I decided to hunker down and commit to doing some real-time research. After sifting through several menu-photo options, I land on The Fish Cage on MLK in NLV. Growing up in LA where you-buy-we-fry fish markets are the daily business, I'm very hard to please in that department. Long story short, I take the 38 minute drive to the Fish Cage and I was not disappointed. From the pleasant and super friendly interaction with the cashier (might be the owner) Ms. Rain to the well seasoned and excellent quality of the friend red snapper, I will definitely be a repeat customer. The ambience is giving exactly what it should... "we fry fish reeeeel good up in here". If you like fried fish, you'll love the Fish Cage. I highly recommend. Passed by and decided to try it. Good service and good food. A small black owned business with food that taste like home cooked. I had catfish, whiting, oysters, shrimp and fried okra. The food took time, and I didn't mind waiting-that's how you know it's fresh! I ordered the shrimp po' boy and it was sooooo good! The shrimp was huge, well seasoned and super crispy. The sandwich wasn't overdressed, so all the components you could really taste. The coleslaw was fantastic addition and I don't even like coleslaw! If I wasn't so full I'd totally go and get another one. I also got catfish dinner with red beans and rice and fried okra. I think the catfish was a little under seasoned, but it was fried nicely and very tender. I think I may ask them to put whatever is on the shrimp on the fish. A neighbor recommended this place. It is conveniently located in North Las Vegas. I used my Waze to find it because it is a small place and easy to miss. I went on a Thursday to make a pickup order for 1 pm on Saturday for approximately eight people. I believe it was Brandi one of the owners who suggested how many pieces of fish to get for red snapper and sol. I paid in advance for the order and a pick up on Saturday at 1 o'clock. In addition I shared with her I've never had her fish before. I'm going on a recommendation from a neighbor. She gave me a sample of sol and red snapper. The samples were just fried and regular size (it became my dinner). Very good. She indicated that that was the size of the pieces I would be receiving (15 red snapper pieces and 15 sol pieces and some extras). When I picked up the order on Saturday at 1 o'clock, my fish with hot and ready. I was given a bottle of hot sauce and a large container of tartar sauce to go. She would have given me lemons but I declined. The fried fish was a success with my family. I highly recommend Fish Cage. read more

This place has gone through alot of changes. The food is never the same between the cooks and they are too prideful to stick to the same recipes. Sauce packets are EXTRA EXTRA 86 cents only got me 3 additional packets. Businesses have to take losses somewhere.. incorporate the fact that colored people love sauce into your price so it doesn't feel like you in my pocket. Then they say use the hot sauce in the squirter bottle... that stuff is watered down to def... they should atleast shake it by the hour if they want it used. Customer service is terrible first time I went. No greet, no be right with you. Just stood in the door sweating waiting for them to take my order. Almost left. Only got 2 stars cuz the food decent. She told me "well she close at 7 so what you wanna order?" It was 6:25.. Maybe I would have ordered if you'd answer the phone.
