I always felt like fried catfish is should be measured on the basis of not requiring hot sauce and this place does not disappoint! Customer service was ok /food was mediocre. I ordered a catfish meal with red beans and rice and fries as my sides. I also ordered a sampler meal. The catfish and shrimp was good no complaints. However the fried oysters and crab balls were burnt and disgusting, the fries had no seasoning whatsoever, and the red beans and rice was nasty and lacked flavor. If I ever return I will just stick with ordering their catfish and shrimp. read more

The Food is Less than Average.. The Service is Horrible.. The Young Lady at the Register is absolutely the Worse person I have Ever had to spend my money with.. She definitely needs to be working in the back away from any And All Customers.. They lied about giving us a free meal once we have made a purchase of so many.. The only meal they will giving was "Catfish Nuggets".. They never have the food advertised on the menu.. I wouldn't ever visit this establishment again after the Service I received today from the Young Rude Lady at the Register... I was warned by my wife from her last visit about the service... Good morning. My husband saw this business online looking for a new place to get some Catfish. The Hush Puppy on N. Nellis has since closed down and I will not miss them. They're food quality and portions went way down the last time I went there. So, we tried The Fish Cage this last Friday night. I must say this is my new place for Catfish. The Okra was delicious, and the Catfish was wonderful. So were the Greens. The French fries were seasoned just right. And the portion sizes were perfect. We ordered enough for 3 and one of us got seconds. I highly recommend this place. read more

I had to give the fish cage two stars. I ordered catfish dinner greens mac & cheese and an extra corn muffin. I was told the greens weren't ready and it's 7 PM so I selected another choice. When I got my order the catfish was cooked soft not crispy I did not get a corn muffin I got a toasted hamburger bun I consider that a fail. It will be a long time before I go to this place again if I even return. read more

Customer service is terrible but the food is to die for. Forget about calling in your pick up order - that's a hit or miss. I don't know how many times I've called in, put on hold, and still be on hold 20 mins later. I'll hang up and call back - the damn line is busy. smh. So I highly suggest going to Bird Cage on Decatur. The only time I've had an issue with them is if someone forgets to put the phone on the charger lol. I'd love to give Fish Cage five stars, but they gon have to work on they customer service. Actually smile for once and actually mean to be nice. This business fell short to me. I wanted to support a black owned business, but it did not live up to my expectations. The girl up front was nice and polite but the interior of the restaurant could use a bit more TLC. Also, I hope they consider posting a clean and clear menu to review before ordering. Catfish strips fried to perfection and delicious! Fried Okra mmmm so good and tasty and more than enough of both for the $$$$$. But don't I repeat don't order the "Mac and a drizzle of cheese" a cup of noddles with a sprinkle of cheese on the top n not completely cover with cheese is Not Mac and cheese was totally disappointed nasty and ended in the trash can!!! I came to Vegas for super bowl weekend and ordered the family pack, 2 orders of the sampler, and two additional sides. The catfish, oysters, and crab balls was ok but tasted a little too much like lawry seasoning salt , a little too salty for me. The hush puppies were good. They were super rude and disorganized! I ordered ahead and was told fifteen minutes. I took about thirty minutes at Home Depot and came to them telling me to "check back" twice. A mess. Bomb. I had the shrimp po boy and ordered a side of red beans and rice and a two piece snapper. The breading on the fish is seasoned well and the red beans and rice were addicting. Then I open up my po boy and there are 8 monster size shrimp fried to perfection sitting top slaw and fresh onion on a French roll. These guys did this right and I will be back. Exceptional food, good price and amazing staff. I got the special with was a crab boil. It came with everything youd expect and chicken. I was recommended to try this fish seeing as how there aren't as many fish markets as there are in LA and I'm craving red snapper!! First things first, As soon as I was done placing my order, you can instantly hear arguing in the kitchen. Lasted at least 4 mins. Super bad first impression. Disagreements should be kept private. Secondly, I placed my order according to what was on the menu. AFTER I placed my order and had been waiting, someone else comes in and orders greens as a side dish. I was devastated to not be aware of the option when I had ordered. Greens are NOT on the menu! Third, BEWARE OF THE FLIES! As I waited 25 mins for my food, I was attacked by flies. Entirely too many! Everyone in the waiting area (8 ppl total) was swinging whatever they have handy to steer free of them. Fourth, they have an issue with keeping orders in place. One guy came and ordered after me and had his order in 5 mins. The ppl that were here before me ordered the same thing and were bypassed. All in all, I am satisfied with the food! I had catfish, red snapper and crab balls. All seasoned and cooked to perfection. Despite my other issues, I'd definitely recommend this place to the avid fish lover. Awful! I ordered the 4 piece sampler and gumbo. My partner ordered the catfish with fries. The oysters and shrimp were burned. They were overbooked in dirty oil. One of my shrimp hasn't been deveined. The gumbo roux was burned with a quarter inch of oil on top. The crab balls were gummy and were missing the crab meat. I couldn't tell the difference between the hush puppies and crab balls. The only edible item were the fries. I paid $ 66 , for fries! Next time I'm going next door to Mama's kitchen. read more
