    Lucky Ducky

Wow. Totally unexpected. Went here on the recommendation of my daughter for her birthday. Mind you, I am not a big seafood eater, but it wasn't my birthday either... touché! This place did not disappoint on any level. The space is cozy, bright, and welcoming. We were seated immediately and went straight to the drinks. Phenomenal. We got the Lucky Ducky and the Punch Drunk Love--10s across the board! For starters, we got a dozen oysters. Very fresh, and that green sauce was outstanding. We also got two orders of the Zabb Wings. Niccce. The spice and citrus combo with the dry rub was excellent. We also had the squid ink calamari... deeelicious. For the mains, I had the Isan Chicken... oh my goodness... incredibly tender and seasoned to perfection. The 30-day aged beef dish was eaten in "30 seconds." The coconut crab curry was bursting with flavor and was another home run. To top it all off, they surprised us with a dessert for my daughter's birthday--an ice cream dish with sticky rice that was also phenomenal. Kudos to the staff! The service was excellent, the manager was incredibly nice and welcoming, and the kitchen is absolutely on point. This is a must-visit if you are in Williamsburg

Definitely a solid thai spot with good food that id come back again to! Fav was def the zabb wings! It's sweet and tangy almost has a kumquat hint to it! There's also a small kick to it, but bearable with some water. Apparently the seasoning is so good that they sell it as a store product. Some of the chicken wasn't fully cooked all the way; it was a bit pink in 2 of the pieces, but still my fav dish!! Next fav and a must order is the steamed branzino!!! I dont even like fish, but this dish imo is michelin guided worthy! It's citrusy (soaked in a cilantro lime base), but not super overpowering. It was nice, meaty, and not too firm nor soft. The coconut crab curry was also delicious. They use real crab chunks and there's a small kick to it as well. The veggie dish was also delicious, but nothing crazy, just your typical veggie dish with some spices. Cocktails were good, I ordered the tongue & cheek and got a bit tipsy from it; it's def a sweet drink tho. I dont like oysters so didnt try any. Very friendly staff and nice ambiance! Hoping to try their other location to see if menu items are consistent!

Yum yum yum. Everything we ate. We did the menu à la carte. The Crab Curry sauce itself was too spicy for me, but the crab itself was delightful and well seasoned, really good and I was able to balance out the spice with rice. We also enjoyed the Basil Manila Clams (devoured too quickly for photos) and the Branzino which were both very well seasoned and not super spicy. The Morning Glory side dish was a little spicy, but well seasoned. Crisp veggies not overcooked. We had the Cheeky Tiki and the Punch Drunk Love, both very unique and complex. The space is comfortable and well designed (love the cool sculptural thing around the bar ceiling). Staff were friendly and efficient. I would definitely recommend this place for great food and service.

The NYC location has been on my radar for some time now but I knew I was going to be in the Williamsburg area so I made a 5pm dinner reservation for two on a Saturday here. So glad I did! It's such a cute spot. What we ordered: - COCO BAH (Coconut Cream, coconut milk drink, fresh lime, orange juice, Thai bird's eye chili) - THAI ICED TEA - ZABB WINGS (Free range chicken wings fried with chili. lime, fried makrut lime leaf) - STEAMED FISH WITH THAI HERBS (Whole branzino, chili, lime, cilantro, culantro, in a cilantro lime broth) - ICE CREAM BO LAN (Pandan jackfruit ice cream and sticky rice) The service was great! The server was very friendly and pretty candid about her suggestions. The Zabb wings are seriously so good, I would go back for just that! The Coco Bah drink was also awesome, just be careful because I chugged the chili by accident at the end and THAT was NOT FUN. Would totally be back and recommend them!

Went to Fish Cheeks for my birthday and it was such a cool experience. The restaurant looks so tiny from the outside but once inside it was very spacious and has a colorful decor/design. I loved the interior so much; it give the best ambiance. Our waitress was really nice and helped break down the menu for us. We decided to have the Selection number 2, that feeds two. For the starter, we got the Somtum Corn salad and Zabb Wings. The corn salad was fresh and spicy and the wings was fried to perfection.. and the seasoning was delicious. The main was Coconut Crab Curry, 30 Day Dry Aged Beef Kaprow and Fried Fish with Garden Herb Salad. The Coconut Crab Curry was one of the best dishes that night. sooo creamy and flavorful. The Fried Fish was also really good. By time the 30 Day Dry beef came out we were getting so full. At the end of the night they brought out sauteed cabbage, which was really good but a little too salty. Overall it was a 10/10 experience. From the food, service and vibes, it was a cool experience to have.

I was blown away by Fish Cheeks. It's been on my list for quite some time and I'm so happy i was able to snag an early dinner reservation. It's such a cute location and the service was pretty good. On resy, it says you have about 2 hours for the reservation but i never felt rushed during my dinner. Now the food?! SENSATIONAL. Highly highly recommend the Branzino because i was blown away by the flavors of it all. It was so moist and from the cilantro, the lime, the thai chili pepper....heated over an open flame, i was in heaven!! Such a highlight of my meal. I also had the zaab wings and they were so juicy, hot and had a crunchy skin (and i LOVE. A crunchy skin). I loved my dinner here and i cannot wait to go back!

Steamed Fish, Squid Ink Calamari, Pork Belly Chili Garlic & the Oysters were my favorites here! Loved the bright & punchy flavors of each dish and the delicious sauce served with the oysters (happy hour deal is solid) Thai iced tea was a bit too milky for my liking, and the green curry left a bit to be desired - would take it up a notch if there was some meat/protein in there! Great place to catch up with friends over tasty Thai food.

Thai Seafood is not a cuisine I'm too familiar with, so I've been wanting to try Fish Cheeks for some time now (seeing it ranked on multiple "Top Thai" places in New York. I'm glad to say my experience trying Fish Cheeks in their Williamsburg location did not disappoint! Their menu is very extensive with a diverse selection of Thai Seafood dishes, but here's what we tried: Fried Fish with Garden Herb Salad ($40) - A whole fried rainbow trout, with cilantro, cashews, Thai chili, pineapple, and ginger. This was my favorite dish of the night - the flavor and texture of the fried trout combined with the Thai chili and other spices/salad ingredients created a unique sweet/savory/spicy flavor that was incredible. Would order this again. Coconut Crab Curry - Was very yummy, a nice blend of sweet and savory with the coconut flavor and crab meat. A unique Thai curry. Grilled Pork Cheeks - Marinated in fish sauce, the pork was high quality, tender, and flavorful. Next time I come back, I'd want to try the steamed fish with Thai herbs, Rawaaeng duck curry, and Zabb wings. The vibes are lively and beautifully decorated in Thai-inspired art, while also being modern. Definitely would come back!

Steamed Fish with Thai Herbs - Must get and star of the show

This is definitely a treat and highlight everytime I visit and the food is consistent across multiple locations, I highly recommend making a reservation as it gets busy and it's recommended you share dishes family-style so you can try many different entrees! The must get dish is the Steamed Fish with Thai Herbs, flavorful and tender and the debone the fish for you which is so nice and the broth is very comforting. The rest of the dishes were flavorful and the coconut crab curry was also warm with a nice kick and they were generous with the crab but don't skip the fish!!! Definitely recommend stopping by!

Delicious meal but didn't live up to the hype for me :( it was certainly a great meal just not mind blowing based on the reviews I've seen and heard, and it's on the pricier side for the portions. My favorites were the zabb wings and raw marinated crab. Loved the coconut crab curry just wish it had a little more flavor & spice !! Ambiance & service are wonderful though.

5 stars! From the hostess to the wait staff, the support wait staff, and the kitchen. The space is bigger than it looks and very busy. I appreciate the tables are spaced out so you are not on top of each other. I imagine when it is busy busy this can be a problem. We were seated quickly because of our reservation. The complimentary chips and sticky spicy chili paste was great! Healthy funyons in my opinion. We started with the squid ink calamari. The flavor is so layered and sweeter than you would think. Calamari perfectly sautéed not chewy but a little... I had the scallops and every bite i consumed. Tender flavorful scallops in a sauce that i could eat with just rice. Because i did! My bestie had the whole fried fish. Perfect perfection with flavor, fried crispy and every bite was amazing. For dessert we had the sticky rice coconut ice cream wit jackfruit. It was good. Not amazing, good enough to eat again and the entire place i will revisit. A must eat for fishy people. Yes chicken and beef items, it's the fish that shines here!

I've had Fish Cheeks bookmarked for quite some time, and being that we were only about seven minutes away, we decided to finally give it a try. On a Friday night with no reservations available online, I fully expected it to be rough--but we went for it anyway. The moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the hostess, who let us know they had one table for two available for an hour. We jumped at the opportunity. Once seated, we were gifted shrimp toast with a dip so delicious I honestly wished I could take a bottle home. The menu is extensive, but it happened to be Restaurant Week, and they were offering a three-course prix fixe for $60. Starter, entrée, and dessert--with all the heavy-hitter favorites included--an absolute no-brainer. For starters, we ordered the raw marinated crabs and the Zab Zab wings. The crabs packed a serious punch--spicy, bold, and incredibly refreshing, the kind of dish that leaves you wanting more. The wings were perfectly fried, dusted in seasoning, and insanely flavorful. I also have to point out that for a tasting menu, the portion sizes were shockingly generous--pretty damn impressive. For entrées, we chose the branzino, the crispy pork, and added the crab fried rice. The rice came out first and let me tell you--this is an absolute must-try. Light, perfectly cooked, and loaded with fresh lumps of crab meat, it was pure perfection. I genuinely couldn't stop eating it. The branzino was soft and buttery, paired with a sauce that elevated the dish beautifully. And the crispy pork? Hands down the best I've ever had. The crunch, the heat, the flavor--everything complemented each other perfectly and made it an unforgettable dish. By this point, the portions had defeated us, so we packed up what we couldn't finish--still knowing dessert was coming. Dessert was pandan ice cream over warm sticky rice, and I was instantly impressed. I only wish the portion was bigger because it was that good and left me wanting more. Overall, Fish Cheeks completely lived up to the hype. Incredible food, generous portions, amazing flavors, and an attentive, welcoming staff. A solid 10/10 experience--I will most definitely be back.

Zabb Wings - I'm not great with spicy food, so after two wings my mouth was on fire, but they were still good. Strong lime flavor, so it was a little too acidic for me Steamed fish - The soup had strong lime and chili flavors, and I liked the cilantro, but it was too oily for me Crab Fried Rice - The fried rice was simple. I'm glad I ordered it because eating it with the other dishes helped balance out all the lime flavors. I didn't really like the side sauces though because they felt too oily

Nothing really stood out with the dishes; I found it to be a bit Americanized, having eaten in so many Thai restaurants around New York City. I'd say that the pad see ew was the weakest dish of what we ordered but it was still tasty. I think it would have been nicer with a different protein, perhaps chicken or tofu. I dislike bamboo shoot which is not a standard ingredient for this particular entrée. I think the bamboo shoot tainted this entrée. I am a traditionalist conservative which bean sprouts is a good substitute variation for bamboo shoot vegetable including string bean. This entrée is my favorite default and as a caveat, if any Thai restaurant or cafe do not offer on their menu I refuse entry to patronize. This entrée enticed my interest and embedded the lunch meal menu for the reasonable price. I personally despise and do not consume spicy hot foods, but occasionally consume mild or very mild in the smallest measurement of the Scoville scale which I specifically requested, but received medium hot spicy. The waitress forewarned me the intense heat level on the Scoville scale as Thai cultural spicy with two or more bird's eye chilies for a high level of spiciness. The spiciness of chili peppers were, in my opinion, medium spicy. Despite the intense medium heat spiciness, the stir-fried noodles lacked flavor with, tender chicken, minimal vegetables, and Thai basil in a bland taste. I wish I chosen shrimp as the protein. Pad Kee Mao sustained my hunger pangs and ate my fill. When eating Thai intense heat spicy foods, I visualize to think of the TV segment "Niall Horan & James Corden Take On Hot Wings" on "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in March, 2020. High heat spicy foods! Thai ice tea, large $3.00 This was a delight and neutralized the heat spiciness because it contains milk. It was served chilled in a large highball glass. If utensils are gold then the interior cafe should contain these "gaudy" feature extensive gold elements, including gilded moldings and furniture. Peony rose are very simply and made pretty table centerpiece decorations. Takeout menu and business cards are available for grabs. I did received my sales receipt. At the bottom of the sales receipt there is a suggested gratuity in intervals of 18%, 20% and 22% where customers do not have to perform math calculation. I paid $23.00 in cash as the waitress' informative knowledge of the ingredients and preparation of the heat level on the Scoville scale.

First off the most delicious group of appetizers. I wished their potions size were more decent. It's pricey for what is offered. Since curries are my favorite I tired those entrees first. Love the masala and green. Like them so tried with different types of proteins. My only draw back to this place or gets too rowdy at times. Also the place is too small . They need to expand so there more movement around. I would come back during the lunch hours to try the noodles and rice. I've seen come out to the kitchen is pretty tempting. If you want to socialize mingle with the crowds of the locals come after 6pm.

I'd never managed to get a reservation at Ugly Baby, but we did make it to Hungry Thirsty and I'm…read morevery glad we did. Service was excellent from the start. My partner was running late, and even though the place is clearly very popular right now, they still accommodated us with a table. The staff explained every unfamiliar dish we asked about, always with a smile. I usually avoid the standard NYC Thai restaurant lineup of pad thai + generic curry situations and look for places that feel more regional and authentic. The menu here had a bunch of dishes I didn't recognize, which immediately made me excited. They even have a spice guide though the icons don't necessarily mean increasing spice levels. As I understood it, different symbols represent different types of heat. Three chili emojis and three meteor emojis may be equally spicy, but they hit differently. They recommended not to order the pad krapow nuer, and honestly, fair enough. Instead, we got the chicken khao soi, which was far better than versions I've had elsewhere - deeply flavorful, spicy, rich with umami. My partner was crying. I, meanwhile, was at "this is perfect and I'm having a great time." One Huge chunk of chicken cooked exactly right. Mix everything thoroughly before eating. Then came the kua kling which arrived with another warning. That dish became my personal challenge to impress the server, and apparently I succeeded because now they've promised that next time they won't discourage me from ordering the nuer. They kept refilling cabbage and cucumber for us to cool down from the heat. The kua kling itself was incredible. That dry curry heat was everything. It builds slowly, then suddenly punches you in the face - but alongside all that spice is an insane amount of flavor. They also recommended to order a non-spicy side dish to have a balanced meal and spice level, but we skipped it because it would've been too much food. Honestly, this is the kind of place where going with at least four people is ideal so you can try more dishes and balance the spice levels. And if you're unsure what to order, trust the servers - their recommendations were spot on. Also: really great ciders and beers. We were really happy with both choices. Overall, even though it's far from the city for me, I'd absolutely go back.

It's a bit pricey, but damn the food is good here! Hungry Thirsty is not your regular Thai spot,…read morebut with more traditional flavors that truly pack a punch in spice. The restaurant is tiny, so be sure to make a reservation. As a lover of spicy food, the spiciness in the dishes really brought out such a great flavor. Since my friend didn't eat as spicy, we found a happy medium getting just slightly spicy dishes which were all fantastic. We ordered the Khao Soi ($33) and Pla Tod Nam Pla ($40). The khao soi wasn't too spicy, especially since the broth has a creaminess and the spicies are on the side before mixing, which you can exclude. The chicken was so tender, but did come with bone so this can be trickier to share. Then the pla tod really surprised me, but I can definitely see why it's the best seller. It is a fried branzino with a marinated fish sauce which goes so nicely with all the crunch. There are a few remaining pieces of bone, so be careful. The fish had a nice balance of fish meat and crunchy skin. If you're looking for a unique Thai spot, this is it. Also, perfect spot for spicy lovers too. They also offer a huge selection of alcohol.

My first time here and it was a great experience. It is Valentine's Day and we left with a cute little gift from them, beautiful gesture. Definitely coming back :)

Had been passing this spot for years and finally had the chance to stop in…read more Host was polite and quickly sat us without a reservation - we wanted to sit outside and there was room thankfully. Wait staff was attentive to dietary needs, exemptions and ensured our request was followed to a T. Ordered some Khao Kriab Pak Mor (dumplings) to start along with a pair of mocktails. And an order of Khao Na Ped (smoked vegan duck) and Ginger Chicken (vegan). All served well with good portion. What I personally liked is the 2 dishes took a bit, not slow or long but IMHO taking a little bit always seems it was cared for in prep. Who knows just my thing. The staff has a challenge to accommodate outdoor seating as the bldg doesn't have an inside/back door for them and they must carry food out the front door, down the sidewalk and into the garden area. That's tough but they do it with grace. The seating was okay since it's early enough but bugs showed up - no surprise - not a complaint just the reality of life and online typing in case anyone is considering it and is more sensitive to the same.
