Exceeded all expectations. We stopped by on a whim and were pleasantly surprised. I thought it would be super average as it is a chain and they have dozens of locations. Boy was I wrong. One of the best seafood spots I've been to in Dallas! Our service was also outstanding. Paul took great care of us on the patio. I also loved that the patio had these little cooling machines. Seemed like a combo of an air conditioner and a fan. We had the fresh oysters, chargrill oysters, spicy shrimp, a burger, and a few drinks. The food was all delicious but I think the chargrilled oysters were just average. Everything else was delicious. Their cocktails are all craft cocktails standards. The gin gimlet was perfect but a little on the sweet side. We asked for the second round to be made with a lighter hand on the simple syrup and that fixed it. The service was also outstanding. Marshall was our server & he was great. Very attentive & accommodating. The catfish & fries were good, but the fish was not seasoned. Grouper tacos looked great but fish also not seasoned & the build of the taco was off. Pico de Gallo & cilantro on the bottom of taco with the fish on top, the tacos were very soggy. Visiting family here often from Houston . This place is really good . The specials everyday are worth considering, but the menu items are awesome too. Fried foods are exceptionally done . Catfish and shrimp are my favorites. Crawfish season now , so definitely will try their eutouffe and fried crawfish special . Had dinner with my dad and daughter's it was our first time here and it did not disappoint! There cheeseburger was really tasty and juicy, there spicy hot shrimp were really good as well so much flavor! My oldest enjoyed her shrimp po boy she's a yelper in the making y'all! I recently returned for a food tasting/new menu release, not even realizing I had dined here before until I arrived. This experience was a complete 180 from 3 years ago! This time was memorable, full of flavor and I left with nothing but good things to say. I was able to sample multiple items: - Crab tower - Shrimp & Watermelon Arugula Salad -- Seared Georges Bank Scallops & Applewood bacon wrapped shrimp - Andouille grilled chicken - Shrimp & Shroom Linguini - Shrimp & grits - Blackened Rainbow Trout My two favs were the linguini & the trout. The linguini looks good, but it taste even better. It's packed with flavor + just the right amount of spice to surprise you. I normally don't like scallops as they tend to be a chewy texture. This one was far from chewy, and makes me want to try it more often when dining at restaurants. It even heated up well the next day, that's my tell all for good pasta lol. The trout. I think this is my first time trying trout too... and wow. This is by far the best blackened fish I've had! It was crisp/flavorful on the outside, but still nice and moist on the inside. Went for dinner, and just missed happy hour. The happy hour prices looked amazing along with the selection. We will go back to try. So for dinner we had the snapper special which was good and the grilled chicken and sausage. Portions were large and generally tasteful. Looking at other tables, the oysters and tacos look great. This was our first time here for lunch but we will be back. Greeted promptly and seated indoors since outside was filled. COVID spacing and plexiglass dividing booths made me feel comfortable dining indoors. Waiter wore a mask and greeted us and a quick drink order while we started to review the menu. Waiter came back and explained the lunch specials. This was an easy choice for me. The pick 2 combo with shrimp and oysters fried with the vinegar slaw French fries and hush puppies. A sweet tea, just sweetened enough, rounded out my meal. Husband ordered the lobster and shrimp roll with a side of Cole slaw. Food arrived quickly and the shrimp and oysters were hot and delicious. The cocktail sauce was spiced just right. Only down side was the fries were cold. I loved the vinegar slaw ! Husband throughly enjoyed the shrimp and lobster roll. We were a little disappointed with our most recent trip to Fish City Grill. The food was okay, but not wonderful. The drinks were good, but the service was spotty and the bar was slow. The black beans and rice had an odd bitterness that made them hard to enjoy. The catfish was nicely broiled and the shrimp were good, but my husband was disappointed with his fish and chips. So, it will be harder to get him to go back there and our impression is that the food is not the best quality. We both had stomach problems after the meal. Liked it better than when it first opened up. We like Tricky Fish down the road but Fish City Grill definitely has more variety. We tried the shrimp and grits (yum!) which was unusual with the added (but not overwhelming) grilled vegetables. The chipotle fish tacos were also good.
